Traditional Middle Eastern cooking gets modern tweaks at a popular eatery in a former warehouse.
Though our waiter was nice, these portions are significantly way too small for those prices. Middle Eastern food portions are usually so hearty and made with lots of love and are meant to be shared. So imagine my surprise every thing ordered the portions got smaller and smaller when they came out.Sort of felt as though we got robbed. Wouldnt recommend here or return to be completely honest.
I am not one to take photos of food, but this meal slapped so hard that I felt compelled to after a few pieces into it
Every single thing I had on the menu was a delightful and sometimes surprising burst of flavor. Incredible. I’ve never had pita melt in my mouth like this. Hats off to this award winning chef!! Service was fun, friendly, and fast, and the chef came out to describe the dishes. This is a “must go to” in Seattle, in my opinion. And I’m from Chicago, so I’m picky. ;)
Waitress took our drink order and left us waiting for 30mins. When we asked if our drinks were coming or if we should go, she told someone to tell us to "have a good night".
This is on my list of top 3 favorite restaurants in Seattle. The food is so thoughtfully and well prepared, including presentation. Each dish is creative but not overly done. I usually get the dish with chicken, but their lamb dishes are top notch so Ill get that too when my eating partner likes lamb. I almost all aways get the soup, hummus and frites before the main course. All are delicious and well seasoned. I I try to come here as often as I can afford and bring people that appreciate good food. I also like the atmosphere, the staff is helpful without being overbearing. Its not extremely expensive for Seattle prices but its not cheap. I can easily spend $100-150 for two people, without ordering any cocktails. This place is for people that appreciate good food in a place with a chill vibe; if you get off on mediocre food just because its cheap and grotesquely jumbo sized, then this place probably isnt for you.
Poor service, mediocre food, small portions, very expensive. Took 15 min for server to come and say hello at the table. Full menu is not served at the table and we had to move to bar in middle of the dinner, coz they serve shorma it only at the bar. Again 15 min for bar tender to take order. Ambience is good but the place is too loud.
Had the perfect summer evening meal here. Their summer manoushe is mind-blowing. Extremely sweet and ripe tomatoes, creamy nutty pistachio spread, and fresh herbs on soft freshly baked flatbread. The mushroom fattoush was great as well, really very depthy flavor. The desert was delicious as well, tried the chocolate cake with sesame tuile. Service and prices were good as well.Note that its not completely authentic, but its delicious.
As a Lebanese American, it’s really refreshing to see Lebanese cuisine get this sort of high-end treatment—where traditional recipes get elevated by the skill of an exceptional chef. The Levantine Chocolate Cake was a particularly notable highlight—one of the single best desserts I’ve ever eaten.
Great food! Proper portion sizes (not too big). One star less for not offering proper plates/cups for lunch.
I was visiting Seattle for the first time, walking in the downtown looking for a place to have lunch. I did what I would normally do when I visit a new city to find food. I went on google map and searched for restaurants with high rankings. Many restaurants were closed during the noon. Mamnoon was one of the few restaurants that was open during the noon hours and its ranking was good so I decided to check it out.The location was easy to find from the map and I was supposed to order in the front table before sitting. I ordered Zatar with chicken Shawarma and Baklava for desert. They offered both indoor and outdoor sitting and I preferred to stay inside. For the lunch time the main indoor area of the restaurant was closed and I sat in one of the booth in the front side of the restaurant. My food was ready in about 10 mins and it was served in paper wrappings. I didn’t expect to get the Baklava in paper wrapping because it is supposed to be filled in sweetened syrup but the Baklava I got was not sweet and juicy that I was expecting. The zatar with Shawarma was good and the taste of the olive was more dominant among the other ingredients.
Ive been here for dinner and lunch and really love the options and flavors. One can order at the window and take their food to go or eat inside. At dinner one may sit down and order. For dinner a reservation is a good idea as this place is very popular. There are great options for vegans and vegetarians.
Came to this spot- only stayed for drinks and an appetizer- I had this mamnoon taouk and I think about it so often, it was some of the best chicken I’ve ever had. If I’m in Seattle again- I would actually return to this spot just to have this again
Went here last night with my boyfriend for his birthday. First time! The food was soooo delicious! 10/10 would recommend just based on the food and great service. Only down side is it is on the pricier side… but well worth it for the quality of the food. I had the halibut and it was so yummy!
Mamnoon use to be our favorite spot for date night, small gatherings and when we have guest in town. We’ve been a patron literally from the first week they open. However, the last 4-5 visits (most recent last nighthave been underwhelming in both the food & service. I know the restaurant industry has been struggling to find staff and keep cost down with the rise of cost on EVERYTHING. But the portions are ridiculously small in comparison to the price they list on the menu! We ordered a $14 cocktail that came in a wine glass filled with huge ice cubes, done after 3 sips! And $30 dollars for one chicken breast skewers that could have not been more than 1/3 lbs. at best. It’s sad to see one of our favorite spots turn to a place we won’t be going back to.
New to Levantine Cuisine, we were pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of vegetarian & gluten free options. The serving staff were very kind, hospitable, knowledgeable, and helpful - making our evening an educational culinary adventure.Mamnoon is regional cuisine of the Levant (a region centered around modern Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, and Jordan). The Capitol Hill location offers both both dine-in or takeout window —-We started with the Moushakal:- Mezze of hummus, baba ganoush, muhammara & labneh with zaatar gluten free crackers (wild thyme, sesame, sumac).- Added a side of Jeweled Rice: saffron, ghee, pistachio, dried fruits, herbs, rose petals- Paired with Ixsir Altitudes (2016 red wine), cabernet sauvignon blend from Batroun Lebanon.- And finished with Mahalabia: oat milk pudding, mastic, rose, rhubarb for dessert. All of the above just because we had an impromptu hankering during our evening walk and got seated & served quickly … An exceptionally satisfying, yet lite late evening meal; We’ll definitely be back earlier some evening to enjoy a more hearty dinner!
Want to endure a 88dB sound level experience for your whole dinner? Go thereI love this restaurant. I sincerely think it is one of the most underrated (although pricey, but aligned with the quality of the foodrestaurant in Seattle. The service is really good too. So why the 2-star review? Well, its all in the the first sentence. 88dB is equivalent to dining next to a lawnmower, non-stop, for 90 excruciating minutes. I am sorry, but as much as I love the cuisine of this chef, it makes no sense that one if your sense is relentlessly attacked, while the other one is delighted. And it goes beyond my little persona, it matters because I couldnt help thinking about inclusion and what it must be for people with hearing impairment. This should be the absolute base, for all restaurants. If you think like me, flag these places using apps like Soundprint and make your voice... heard.
Over-priced and definitely an American variety of someones idea of Middle Eastern food. Maybe for drinks and a snack at night. Staff masked to the eyeballs. Definitely geared towards the moderately disposable income set. Although not a bad place all in all...
Great food, never disappoints. The harrara fries (off menu), the hummus platter, brussel sprouts and lamb kebab were all incredible. The kebab was juicy and was on top of sauce and veggies that were so good. They have a takeout window thats great for a quick lunch. They also have a small outdoor area since covid.
Dinner menu is too expensive! I ordered "lamb roulade". It costed $31 and had two very small pieces of lamb. Wasnt filling at all. Similarly, "Mamnoon shish taouk" costed $29 and serving size was small. Usually you can fill your stomach at any Mediterranean restaurant by paying such price. Taste was okay, nothing great.I should have gone to Mamnoon Street instead of this mamnoon. Food is tastier and cheaper there.
Very nice. Cocktails were lovely, wine pairing was good. Shared plates of various items is the way to go. I am unable to spell the menu items we tried. We accepted the suggestions from our server. It was all quite good. Then off to Salt & Straw for some ice cream.
Muhammara was decent but falafel could have been better.
Atmosphere and decor is great. Food no! Small portions. Few dinner selections. Chicken kebab with minimalist seasoning. There is no shish kebab. The red cabbage in the salad and the sauce were too bitter for us.Updating to 4 star: A waitress/manager offered to remove the salad from the bill. She was nice and asked us about our dining experience. Also, it was a freezing 26 F degrees day outside. All we had to was sit there and eat. For that I thank them. They deserved another star.
Amazing, amazing Mediterranean food, one of the best I have even hadWe had chicken and lamb both of which were very tender and juicy. I had tht right terragon limeade - highly recommend.
The layering of flavors combined with beautiful plating and superb beverage pairing made this meal as artful as it was delicious. The staff were attentive, polite, and knowledgeable. Would definitely return on a future visit to Seattle.
The baba ghanoush with pita is tooooo good. You should also try the lamb anwar. The place is superb and have good flavors.
We had the chicken shawarma wraps and loved it! If I had any complaints, the wrap was a little on the small side at least for me. Probably next time I would order some hummus or another option off sides. The seating is outside for lunch and dinner has inside table service.
Each item was unique! Enjoyed the dining experience.
Amazing food. Good date night place. A little pricey than its worth but I will definitely go back there.
Not bad Arabic food at all. Solid drinks. Solid menus and flavors. I’d say this place is for someone who wants a subtle Arabic flavor. But I would go back and bring a date. The fusion and unique foods made are worth it. But this ain’t at all your typical / classic Arab spot.
Cool place - Id recommend the Hummus starter (some of the best hummus Ive ever hadand the cauliflower dish was tasty. They have a Lebanese pilsner and a Lebanese craft IPA, Id recommend the pilsner. Friendly staff, they take reservations, have outdoor seating and there is a parking garage next door (~$5/hr). The place is more $$$ than $$, but a great date night spot.
As someone who travels all over the country for work I eat at my fair share of restaurants and this one was head and shoulders above most- truly exceptional food! I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you like fresh food with for are herbs and spices and an innovative twist on Mediterranean style food. I was bowled over by the roasted acorn squash dinner and the crudités platter with whipped feta. My companion had chicken and thought it was out if this world. The wine list had unexpected choices and we both extended our palates tonight and tried new wines to us- one from Lebanon and another from Sardinia- really nice to see something in addition to the usual suspects. Although we had eaten literally every morsel, we had a dessert that was incredible- sort of a halvah mousse with a salted crumble that brought out the best in this super tasty and unique dessert. The ambiance strikes just the right note of color and lighting to create an intimate feel. Lastly, the staff are kind, informative and super attentive. Make your way here and you will not be disappointed !
Bit pricey. Nice ambience. Loved their fried chicken. The house sauce(harawas amazing. They also sell it separately. Their starter sampler was not worth 24$. Only Muhammara was good. The could have warmed the pita before serving!
Always disappoint Mamnoon. So many times weve dined here for a brunch and dinner. Under quarantine we also did takeouts, but each time we were surprised by the consistency and taste of the food. We love this place and we always take our guests to this restaurant from outside of the state. Thank you Mamnoon for sticking to your high standards of service!
I’ve been here twice and each time I left with such a satisfied and full stomach. They have a great happy hour and great service. Mocktails are surprisingly delicious and very refreshing!
Really amazing food. Everything tastes absolutely great and made really well, some of the best I have had 8n a while. Will be visiting soon again.
The food and service were both good. I enjoyed the ambiance too - interesting lighting and decorations throughout the restaurant with several different scenes which made for a good lunch. It was almost empty during the week too, so good spot to shoot up to for lunch if you work in South Lake Union and want to ditch the crowds.
Absolutely Amazing experience at Mamnoon, the food was delicious and service was amazing. The inside is very lovely and the open kitchen concept is very cool. I tried the new Strawberry labneh dessert with home made biscuit, strawberries and a Rose Jam which was incredible. I was there for Brunch and will definitely be going back to try the dinner menu and drinks. I had the awarma and the house made Arabic flat bread is really something.
Stopped in here after reading some of the Anthony bourdain visit. I mean.. the food is kosher. Good ingredients colorful and jazzed atmosphere with a very relaxed laid back lounge feel. Wonderful servers and kitchen staff. But I have to give 4 stars. Nothing made this place perfect. It just seemed the flavors were promised but fell down the side of the seasoning jar. I will admit Im not well versed In Mediterranean flavor profiles. But you should at least taste something other than curry and oil. In my opinion of course!Worth a visit. For the experience.
Great Lebanese/Mediterranean food in Capitol Hill in a trendy setting. We went for brunch and the highlight was the lamb bacon in our breakfast. The fries were perfectly fried (Belgian style — crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside).I’d recommend trying this place for brunch if you’re looking something out of the ordinary.
One of the best Mediterranean restaurants Ive eaten at! Their food is very tasteful and the spice palette is delicious! Definitely recommend the Zatar with chicken. The meat was very soft and well cooked.I didnt quite like their lentil soup though - it was very bland.
Mamnoon is absolutely delicious! Definitely get the walnut appetizer, some pita (amazing), spicy fries, hummus, and the lamb levash (think hot pocket). We also loved our drinks. If youre in town, get over here!
Excellent middle eastern food. The fried cauliflower, hummus based dishes, kebab, steak, and trout are delicious. I focus more on the appetizers here. Mamnoon also offers many refreshing and unique cocktails.NOTE: the mannoon street restaurant is not even close in comparison with this one.
Original and interesting combination of dishes. Good place to visit. Service a bit slow, first dish were serve very fast, but waited about 25 min for main dish, reason why this is not 5 star review. I will try it again maybe I will revise it to 5 stars if service improves.
Really a 3.5 star.Went there for brunch. I would give 5 stars to the decor and ambiance, but 2.5 stars for the food and portion. Like other mentioned, the portion of the food is pretty small for the price. As for the food, I got a lamb sausage (I think its a koobideh style sausage - nicein the breakfast plate, it was way too salty, even in American standard. So I couldnt enjoy it. Husband got pancake and he said he liked it. The best food we ordered was perhaps baba ghonoush.
Be careful about the restaurant youre coming to as theres another similarly named restaurant called Mamnoon Street not too far away. This restaurant is quite pricy with very small portions. The tapas style of ordering with lots of small plates allows you to get a large variety of different foods. Service is quick and friendly and food comes out fast as well. Didnt have to wait at all for seating and the decor is probably the best part about the restaurant. Food was tasty but it could have done with slightly larger portions for the price.
The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the Fatteh and a salmon dish not on their online brunch menu. The service and ambiance were mediocre. Service: Our hostess refused to acknowledge our reservation. She barely greeted us, was rough setting down items on the table, and had a personal conversation with the server immediately next to our table. Our server was minutely better. She may have checked in on our food, but it was clear she wasnt interested in any pleasentries beyond the minimum. Ambiance: I liked the wacky light fixtures. The rest of the design was unfocused, like they enjoy restaurant supply auctions a little too much.
Lovely food, even as a vegetarian. Right from the hummus, to the perfectly cooked cauliflower in the arnabeit makli to the Mujadara entree, every course was fantastic. Definitely recommended
This is a quiet fancy option for those who want to spent a romantic dinner. Yet on my second visit I was asked to leave the table I was seated at and move to the high chairs area, just because we were ordering Za’atar! While the place was not crowded at all! Even after what happened, our order was on the counter waiting for someone to bring it to us, until it became cold! I wrote a 5 stars review before, but now I’m changing my review for this restaurant.
We were here for the happy hour so we shared with everyone a big communal table. Had spicy lamb and roasted eggplant and beets. They were all delicious. Friendly staffs. Difficult to find parking in capital hills.2018 Jan visit: Sunday dinner. Hard to have a table we sat at the bar and the staff was super friendly. We had spicy beef and lamb dish, grilled chicken, and deep fried cauliflower. All delicious. Bravo.
We were traveling in Alaska and met some local Seattle folks who told us this is their most favorite restaurant. After dining here, we understood why. Mamnoon has delicious food and the prices are reasonable and the service is extra friendly. This would be an especially good place to visit with a larger group, so everyone could share plates of food.
