Homey hut offering family-style Latin classics & seafood specialties in diner digs with murals.
Delicious as always! Cant go wrong with the lomo saltado and alfajores!
The food was not the best, the beans were hard and the onion was evidently refrigerated many days ago, the service was very cold, Good looking restaurant but the food could be better, at least for the price.
Simply perfect. Everything. Comfort. Food deliciousness, service etc.
I enjoy this place a lot. The bread they give as an appetizer is always fresh. Aji Verde is awesome. Ive bought a whole jar before. The sauce goes well with everything. Calamari is always a good appetizer. The spicy noodles were really good. Although, the pork chops were overcooked the meals were good. If youre on a date or you want to experience some amazing food come here to Mamita and then hop over to the Americana thats a few blocks away and take a stroll.
great service, great food and well organized place. Ill definitely come back!
Love the food and drinks so delicious, great customer service. Sad no parking, you have to find parking in street. Other than that will be going back soon.
Food is genuine Peruvian dishes. Service is excellent. Good prices too.
Peruvian restaurant but they don’t cook Peruvian food. Very disappointed never going back.
Four out of five because a five should be an experience that blows you away. Great ambience, staff and food. I got the green pasta with steak. It isnt on the menu l, but found it on pictures from Google and Yelp. Kind of bland at first, but it grows on you. Get the calamari. I could have just enjoyed that with a nice beer. Some of the best calamari! Extra crispy with a nice citrus twist. Put the red onions and pico from the calamari on my steak and it was amazing. Service was great. Not the best Peruvian with Bodega in Pasadena, but really good nonetheless. Shoutout to the server / busser dude. Gracias por todo.
Always great food. Service is good. Its a great place for your Peruvian cravings. The fresh bread is nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My favorite dish that I always order is the Lomo Saltado. They have both inside and outside dining. No back parking lot anymore but there is curbside parking.
Food was good. Cashier didnt even say a word when I paid my bill (besides the amountnot even when I said "thanks". I think she is the owners daughter.
Fricken Delicious...everything was amazing and service was great 🙏👊👍. Only con is the inside is small
Service was great. They have a large outdoor eating area in the back.
I love the taste of Peruvian food. Very nice restaurant and friendly atmosphere.
The flavor of the food has always been amazing. Unfortunately prices have gone significantly higher and it has affected the food quality and quantity. If you have ever heard that their pisco sour is good, yes, it used to be but not anymore. This drink, which is one of the most important products in Peruvian gastronomy is literally now a mixture they buy and it’s beyond terrible. And they still want to charge too much money for it. If you are ok with spending that money, many dishes are very good.
My 1st time going to a Peruvian 🇵🇪 restaurant and honestly their food is super good. Not to greasy and good amount of food. I tried the "Pollo Saltado" I really recommend it.
Took very long to get food. Gave us cold food. Waiters took long to assist. Use to love eating here but prices went up and costumer service went down.
Ordered the Lomo montado - delicious- my granddaughter loved her spaghetti
Randomly came in because I’ve seen it before with some nice seating outside. I was at the dealership next door so decided to stop and get some dinner. So happy I did. Friendly staff, nice and clean restaurant with street parking only. Lomo saltado was what I had with some delicious white wine. The appetizer bread was crisp and warm. Amazing green sauce! The entire plate was just what my taste buds were looking for. A must try! A little gem 💎 Follow me for more ! Follow me fire more!
First time eating here and got the Tallarin Saltado de Carne and some fries on the side. This is not what I expected this dish to taste like. Tasted like someone who doesnt know what it should taste like but did their own thing instead and was missing the flavor. If you have the time go to Rosty Peruvian Food instead.
Best Peruvian place in Glendale. Parking in the area can be tough. As most streets around there require a permit. They do offer valet.
Love the food and drinks so delicious, great customer service. Sad no parking, you have to find parking in street. Other than that will be going back soon.
Tasty.😋 Beef strips stir-fried with french fries and two over medium eggs. Cilantro, onions and tomatoes to help balance a sweet and salty goodness. Its like something you’d crave for a big breakfast. I had problems finding parking but the food was worth it. I will have to come back and try the rest.
I went there a few days ago and I ordered the aguadito soup or whatever its called and the chicken in this thing was absolutely disgusting. They dont use chicken breast because all the pieces had tendons and it was chewy. You would think that for a $17 soup you would be getting high ingredients but it was such a disappointment and absolutely disgusting I didnt even eat it. The service was outrageous. The waitress was extremely rude and messed up our order and tried to blame us and make us pay for her mistake. It was my first time here and never going back. I cant believe people rate this place so high.
I have been going to this place since 2005. It maintained its authentic taste up until 2022. My favorite dish Pollo Saltado lost its taste. You can tell corners were cut because the portions are smaller and smaller but the worse part was the new and smaller restaurant made bread. They swapped it for a generic much smaller out sourced bread and that was extremely disappointing. I understand we are in hard times with inflation on the rise but o still paid well over what I paid the year before oblast year they kept it delicious. This time my wife and I noticed they lost that authentic taste we always came to enjoy. Smh 🤦♂️! Really disappointed cause In N Out has never lost its groove taste and now Mamits did. I also noticed the joint has less folk eating there and that was odd. Perhaps I am not alone in this noticeable change. So sad!
We were served outdoors, and I loved the atmosphere. Food was delicious! Our server Sandra was awesome: quick, polite and friendly. All of them were great! I totally recommend this place.
The yucca fries were cooked perfectly, fresh out of the fryer and perfectly crisp... needless to say, they did not make it home. The pescado chicharon was also delicious except I would recommend a little less onion.
2 years ago it was really good, but now the customer service is lacking, the wait to take your order is long, then what you ordered is not what you get and the reason is the menu was wrong and hasnt been corrected, but you wouldnt know that until you have been served. Plain and simple disappointing for what you are paying I could of had carne Asada and a 12 pack
Bad experience. Let me start by saying that the menu is wrong. They had a dinner plate with Lomo, shrimp, octopus and oyster in a sauce. When the plate was served it didnt have shrimp, octopus and oyster. When we asked about the plate they said the menu was printed wrong. I had asked the waiter if all the seafood came in the plate. He said "yes". Service is slow and they forget to bring your appetizers.First time there and last time there. Dont recommend this place.
Ceviche here always fresh & good I did tried different dishes but I would recommend the ceviche for now .
Food tasted great, also good options of appetizers. They need to improve on their service, the place is relatively small and they seem a bit unorganized to sit people and to take orders right away. Other than that, I would recommend it since I really enjoyed my meal.
We went yesterday !!! Take 40 minutes to eat!! But you know what! The food was absolutely delicious!!! So good!!! So taste!!! Lots of flavor!! The tamal and salsa criolla was riquísimo!! The jalea espectacular!!! The arroz con mariscos delicious!!! The chicha morada!! So yummy!!! Thanks to the chefs of this restaurant!! They are the gold in your business!!!!we will back next week!!
I was a regular client in at this place. I will always order the ceviche mixto. I came here for over 3-4 years ago. I know couple of the staff & Salvador was my favorite server. He was an excellent server. However, the last time I went with my family to celebrate a birthday, all of our servings were underserved. I asked my server what was going on with the portions, why were so little?. I mean, coming to this place for soo long, I have a sense what the plates look like. He said that the owner tells the cooks to put less portions. I was very disappointed because I asked to speak with the owner, which i saw was there. My server said, she will come. I waited and she never came. I request to talk to her again and she actually hide from us. That was very disappointing!! As an owner you have to face your clients but if you don’t even have that courage, then i don’t want to do business with you. Now im looking for another place to eat ceviche. When i find it. I will add it here so you can go there. If there is no value , i will not waste my money in this place .
I stumbled upon Mamita Peruvian while in Glendale getting my car serviced. It looks to be a random restaurant on a Blvd full of car dealership. But don’t let the façade fool you, Mamita has some of the best Peruvian food I’ve had in Los Angeles. The restaurant is small but it’s tastefully decorated and welcoming. As for the food, I highly recommend the calamari. It’s one of their most popular dishes. The calamari are cooked to a perfect crisp and the flavors are top notch. I also ordered their seafood soup, Chupe de Mariscos. It’s jammed packed with all sorts of seafood. The broth is nice and the spices on point. Make sure you come hungry because the portions are a decent size.
I cant say that Ive been to many Peruvian restaurants- in fact this may be my first! However, the flavor was excellent! The kitchen utilized simple tilapia fillers and turned them into something magical! I strongly recommend their ceviche as an appetizer and be sure to pair it with their purple corn drink. I ordered two out of sheer gluttony. Their entrees are very well-portioned and quite refreshing! I ordered tilapia with everything on it which included squid, octopus, and calamari over tilapia marinated in some sort of soy sauce(not sure though). They didnt have their Peruvian ice cream which would have been the cherry on top of a great meal, either way, Id go again. My only concern is the lack of waiting staff. They had one person for a full house! She did her best to keep up, but it was quite overwhelming.
This was my first time here and I was not disappointed, the food was very delicious! I ordered the Lomo Saltado was amazing! Very different from other Peruvian food that Ive been before. I tried Chicha morada and the Inca cola! The place is open for patio seating. They have warmers for cold nights. The staff is friendly and attentive.
Where do I begin? I been coming in here despite their negative reviews on how their service has been. After being a loyal customer I’m highly disappointed. Came in with my family because I talked so highly about how great the service has been and the food and when I arrived with my family. We went for dinner it’s obvious they were busy but we were cut off by another family. The family had shoved me to the side telling me to get out the way and was seated before we were mind you we were their before they arrived standing for about 20 minutes. So I notified two waiters and they completely blew me off. Then I told the owner who was serving and she ignored me as well. So I was very disappointed after waiting about 45 in total we were seated. The service was trash. We were ignored other people were served before us. My family and I were waiting patiently for our food. Don’t get me wrong the food was okay. But we were waiting on waters to be refilled the waiters near by kept ignoring us basically if you weren’t assigned to them at the table they didn’t care. So finally upon being served dessert. We didn’t get to see our waitress. So another twenty minutes passed by and there was no check. Fast forward I went to go check out didn’t leave a tip because of how we were ignored. When I walked back to the table my family was disappointed that we were ignored. So get this since I didn’t tip because of the lousy service they took out the tip themselves. Charged me an extra 11$ what a joke. Never coming back to this place again. I mean I’m not one to write a negative review but really disappointed. Would rather go to el Rico pollo in San Bernardino better quality in food and service. Just saying
Love it great food was my first time here with the family on our vacations
This place is one of those hidden treasures, not to big of a location but the food and service are excellent... you need to make a reservation to enjoy prompt seating or youll be waiting for a while .this place was always packed with people it seems never any down time. A true testament I think of their excellent food.
This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant that serves the classic comfort foods of Peruvian cuisine. Its inexpensive, down to earth and draws a Central & South American crowd at lunch and dinner. Weekends are particularly busy with large family gatherings sharing a me. We had ceviche with mixed seafood (scallops, shrimp, octopus, calamari, white fish with red onions. This was so good that we couldve just shared this and had our fill. It came with white rice and green chili salsa. We also had the shrimp in garlic butter sauce with whole cloves sliced into slivers & toasted. Also, excellent with the rice a green chili sauce. The meal came with two dinner rolls and butter, which we didnt eat because the seafood was so good and the portions so large that we were fully sated. We will be going back for to sample other ceviche options and try one of the dozen or so more traditional chicken or meat dishes.
Every time I come to this restaurant, I feel close to my Latin roots, food is great so is the attention to details
Ive tried a good chunk of the menu since Ive been coming here for 20 years. Everything is really flavorful and well textured but can be better or worse depending on the chef on duty. With that said the fried calamari are a must try and Im positive you wont regret trying anything from the menu. Staff is friendly and very attentive and the prices add great value to the experience. Also beware of the weekends this place gets jam packed. Overall I definitely recommend this place!
Been here a few times, food is good. A little crowded, but if you dont mind it youll be fine. Bathroom is outside. Go on an empty stomach! Because you will definitely be full by the time you leave.
Best Peruvian restaurant in the area. The bread and green sauce is the best. This place is classy, but extremely affordable for the amount of food and the quality. The parihuela my favoriteI highly recommend it as a great lunch and dinner place
It was delicious. I highly recommend this for authentic Peruvian food. The lomo saltada ears awesome. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because a can of soda was $3.25 each. I though h that was a bit extreme. But it did not take away from our experience. Will be back when wer addresses in town again.
First time here, really good. I ordered the saltado de cameron, sauce was so good butttt the shrimp was over cooked and bland unless drenched in the sauce butttt the sauce is so good it saves it lol if that makes sense🤗 their papa de la haucania was really good as well as their alfajores so bomb! And their pisco sour was yummy! Very busy, nice staff. Clean. Would recommend.
Ive been to many different Peruvian Restaurants but nothing compares to Mamitas. Delicious food. I had the Lomo Saltado and a horchata and my partner had Lomito Montado Estilo Mamitas and a limonada. The flavors where so right. The vibe was nice. Every seat was filled with a butt. 😀 The parking can be problem. They have a valet $4. If u park on the street look for meters and permit signs. Do not in any way let parking discourage u this jem is worth it. Not only will I return I will recommend to anyone and everyone who wants an all around great meal.
Delicious! Got the fried yucca, the french fries with beef and egg, and a fried fish. Typical Peruvian food!
I had a good time eating solo at this restaurant. One problem is the parking, since it is located sandwiched beteeen some car dealerships. It also has detached restroom stalls, located close behind the building.
I compare every Peruvian spot to Marios and Mamitas is a close tie. Lomo Saltado was tasty, service was quick and friendly and it was relatively inexpensive. Definitely recommend anyone whos in the area to check this place out.
