Mambo Gourmet Pizza in Nanaimo

Ordered no shrimp on my pizza, what do you know, they put shrimp on my pizza. Yuk

Stopped by after getting off the ferry - grabbed a couple vegan pizzas and they were very tasty! Everything is super fresh, the dough / crust is 👍. Will be back for sure, maybe on my way back to the ferry in a few days! 🙂

Oh my gosh there isnt much to say except for Ive always had fresh tasty ingredients. I swear you can taste every ingredient in every bite.I also like that when you place an order you dont have to worry about taxes and delivery fee it all comes in the price that you see.And their pizzas are just so darn awesome I wish theyd make a medium though for single people

Great gluten free pizza.I had the non gluten pepperoni and bacon and peppers and it was loaded and delish! Great service to order and Fast delivery too ! Last gf pizza I had at home in ns had less than 12 slivers of pepp and nothing else so pleasantly surprised. Ate it so quickly only got the picture at the end ! Quality ingredients, great crust, great service and their ground ham is a game changer. Might be the best pizza on the island.

I just moved to Nanaimo, and thought Id give this pizza place a try.And holy wow, this place did not disappoint. Easily the best gluten free pizza I have had to date.I never eat pizza crusts, and here I am...eating the crusts, lol!Thank you Mambo, this girl is definitely a repeat customer, highly recommended!

God daaaamn it, yes! Delicious, perfect pizza. Not some pretentious weird "fancy" pizza. Just perfectly cooked, with great ingredients.

Had a Juniper sub green pepper for red onion, hands down best pizza Ive had in years 😍🤤 unreal char on the pepperoni, the TASTIEST crunchy yet pillowy dough... if youre in town, make sure you go here!

This restaurant came highly recommended by a few friends and its become our go-to pizza place. The food is excellent and the customer service is equally so. After an error with our delivery earlier today, they were more than willing to make it right and we were able to get fresh pies sent to us within the hour. Stellar customer service! I have nothing but great things to say about this location, its staff, and of course the pizzas, which come fully loaded. Whether youre in the area for a little while or a long time, consider giving this place a try!

Have never ordered from them before and am super impressed. Was able to get a Vegan pizza, which isnt always easy to find, and a Barbecue chicken pizza. Both pizzas are delicious and were delivered promptly. Will definitely order from them again.

I can’t say enough good things about Mambo’s. The ingredients, selection (2-4 different kinds in one pizza!!), and the service is amazing.

Meh. And i mean MehThe only item above a domino order was the bacon. Sauce was lame, crust ok, cheese was poor to low quality - high moisture content. No where to sit and eat, and ever bench anywhere near here has a drug addict living on it

What can I say but yum! This is our go to while camping near Nanaimo! Hot, fresh, not oily and just yummy. Family of 4 (adults plus 16,13shared an XL and were all full!

Excellent pizza. Good amount of topping which is huge. Most places are cheap on toppings.

Mambos never disappoints! Overdose, bacon cheeseburger, Voodoo, juniper, jalapeño popper are all great. I dont think they serve anything the people wouldnt die for! Veggie pizzas like spinny style and pesto pizazz are also killer!

The only reason I am reluctant to give them 5 stars is because I dont want them to get big heads....but it really is the best pizza in town!

Sensory overload to say the least. Whole experience was great, order online, get a text with a pickup time and another text when your pizza is ready. Whole ride home smelled amazing. Took one bite of the pickle boy and I found my new favorite pizza place. Highly recommend trying mambo pizza. Everything was super fresh and tastes like quality ingredients are used from the dough to the cheese. Thank you to whoever made the recipes, you made the world a better place

This was the first pizza I have ever ordered in Nanaimo. I have no reason to look elsewhere.Its Friday night. You get paid. Spend the extra $5 and order from these guys. You deserve it. The 18" will keep you fed all weekend and they give you value for your money. The pie is like 4 lbs easy, and is impressive. I dont even think they offer extra cheese, because this beast was covered. It was ready within 15 min, and even had a great logo on the box. This is one of the "you get what you pay for" places and from what I have heard has been around for a long time. If you are into a serious pie like I was, come here first.Edit-- Still been coming here for the past year. Product is even better. #Mambo4life

The pizza is great.. some nights is a long wait. Tonight I called in when it was over a half hour past the hour and forty-five minutes they said it would be and they told me it was just coming out of the oven. Got a call a few minute later to tell me they forgot to put some of my items on the pizza Thank you for catching that and offering and then giving me a full refund. Customer service goes a long way.. Ill be ordering again.. The pizza is still the best in town.

Great vegan options! The cheese they use is much better than Daiya that sticks in your mouth. This stuff actually melts. Friendly service and they resolve any issues brought forward promptly. 10/10 would recommend over any chain. You get what you pay for B)

Nanaimo wouldnt be the same without Mambos. Best pizza around. Great toppings with amazing variety.

Fantastic pizza and one of the highlights of my trip. I loved it so much that I simply had to go back on the last day to get some pizza before boarding the ferry back to Vancouver. They make the pizza fresh upon order (takes around 30 minsso that it is piping hot right out of the pizza oven. Service is decent and the portion is reasonable for the price. They have lots of vegan options (and they use violife cheese!and their pizzas are highly customisable. I got a custom pizza and it was amazing (5/5). I love their barbecue base (they are very generous with the saucewhich was the perfect amount of smoky and tangy and the vegan cheese is super melty as well. The amount of toppings is pretty generous (I got mushroom, broccoli and spinachand the crust is fluffy. Im usually not a fan of thick crust pizza (I prefer thinbut this one was super good. The spicy marinara I got as a side was a bit too spicy for me personally though. If you have a low spice tolerance Id suggest getting something else. Other than that I have no complaints and I would definitely recommend coming here if youre ever in Nanaimo.

First time to order, very pleased with the delivery person, along with the pizza. You have a new customer. Dont waste your time with dominos or panago. Spend your money here and enjoy a tasty pizza.

I ordered this well acclaimed pizza for myself and my partner. I ordered his with no onions because he hates onions. And when I asked him how his pizza was his response was “very oniony” …I was shocked and embarrassed.. When the expectation is high (as is the priceit’s even more disappointing

Incredible place! Great gluten free and vegan options, I am celiac and called in beforehand and they take good precautions with the gluten free pizzas (using a separate space to prepare it, placing it on parchment in the pizza oven, and using separate cutting utensils for itwhich was reassuring enough to try it. It was delicious and such a treat! I had the Pesto Popeye and it was amazing with tons of flavour, and those I was with had the Donair pizza and they enjoyed it too but said it was less flavourful. Take note that currently, I’m assuming due to COVID, there is no indoor or outdoor seating, it’s only take out.

Ive ordered here a dozen times now. 99% accurate and 100% phenomenal tasting pizza. Dough isnt too thick or to thin. Generous amount of toppings. 18inch for the pizza fanatics that cost about as much as others 15inch larges. Crew is amazing and fast, its like the staff actually want to be there, probably due to great ownership.They also have a large selection and some unique flavors. Jalapeno Popper pizza is my personal favorite.Only suggest moving into a nicer location and franchising. I would franchise one of these for sure.

They really tried with the gluten-free crust, but its just... not good. Pros: Its thicker and more dough-like than the thin GF crusts that can be like cardboard. Cons: Its REALLY doughy. Despite being cooked it had an extremely gluey texture and was weirdly salty. I tried to like it, but nah.Toppings were great!

Mambos is absolutely fantastic, and is deservedly the best pizza in town. I also really like that if you live close enough that they dont even charge a delivery fee!This isnt to say theyre issue-free. Twice in a row when online ordering that they have forgotten the dips with the order. They have thankfully rectified this on both occasions. The first time they sent a driver by, the second they didnt do anything immediate, but did say that I could get one on my next order which they have fulfilled.One should also be prepared for extensive wait times, upwards of 2 hours. It is difficult to contact them should it take longer than expected or for any other issue, they usually arent taking calls in my experience.

My family and I have ordered pizza from here twice.The last time we ordered it was over 2 hours late.When I called in to see where my order was, the said “ I’m so sorry it didn’t make it to the kitchen, we will get it in and to you very soon. Won’t be long”Upon delivery the delivery driver gave me attitude and said the instructions didn’t say back door, however I noticed it said so right on the receipt.No discount, no apologies.The first time we ordered the pizza was 45 minutes late( each time qoute one hour )The pizza was very good, however I feel like customer service is lacking.

Love the pizza, especially the crust, but really wish they offered some plant based meats. My partner is a vegetarian and the vegetarian pizzas could be better in flavour combinations. So we always get the same or similar custom 3 topping pizza and were both feeling pretty meh about it by now. The veggie combinations on the menu arent that inspired either. I dont want to have to order from Panago when I really want Mambos pizza! Ive started to recreate some topping combinations offered at The Joint in Victoria because their veggie pizzas tends to be fantastic, when ordering now. They try some creative things because the world doesnt need another lame "Mediterranean" or a "Greek" pizza. Not that Mambos offering is necessarily limited to that. The Pesto Popeye is probably Mambos best here but I really think its take time for a partnership with a producer to get some plant-based meaty goodness and more flavour on those pizzas. Very Good Butchers perhaps? Also Beyonds italian sausage works great. I use it all the time when making pizza at home. Id happily pay a little extra for that.Edit: thanks for the response, however I did contact your business directly a good year ago by now about your vegetarian pizza offerings through your feedback form on your website. I never heard back and thats fine. You definitely dont have to be a vegan restaurant to make great vegetarian pizza. The Joint is a great example of this (at least it used to be, last I had itas is Pizza Garden in Van and many others. The 3-star review was not an act of vengeance but how we perceive your vegetarian pizzas, which are on your menu, therefore yours to improve. I didnt make them up. 90% of what I order from you is vegetarian so my review is based on that. We still order pizza regularly from you and your delivery drivers still get a minimum 20% tip from me. So letting me know of what youre working on and how youre planning to expand your offerings are all great things, defensive responses to loyal customers not so much.

Last night my fiance and I ordered from Mambos, half Bacon Burger and half Jalapeno Popper pizza. The pizza was exactly what we were craving, and we couldnt forget the Sweet sauce! Absolutely delicious!! Thank you for the quick service and for delivering to the North end. Great local business and great staff😊❤

We had a long day of exploring Nanaimo and felt like hanging out at our hotel with a pizza. So happy we decided on Mambo! The pizzas were all so unique and it was great to be able to get a 1/2 & 1/2 to try out different flavours. Ended up with the Mambo Special and Donair which were both a huge hit!

Great pizza at a reasonable price, they also make gluten free vegan pizzas, my daughter says they are fab! My favorite is the Montréal pizza... Maybe because thats where Im from.. I order the jumbo and I have leftovers to take to work...

Delicious pizza. Loved the fact that you could order a pizza with 2 x half of different pizzas. Had half of jalapeno popper pizza and the mambo special pizza. They were both really good, but that jalapeno popper pizza really hit the spot! That cream cheese and jalapeno combined on the pizza was so delicious. Ordered through their online website and we saved 10%. The girl running the till was nice and helpful. Definitely recommends this place for some good pizza.

Highly recommended. Definelty go with the extra large (18"as you can choose 4 different pizzas flavours in one pizza. Its a great way to try different combos and a great value at less than $30. Lots of food. The pizza itself was tasty, good amount of quality toppings and well put together. I was also impressed with their customer service as i have a nut allergy so pesto can be problematic. I ordered online and they send me a custom message after confirming their pesto has no nuts. Great extra effort. 👏

The Pizza was good in taste. Took The Weekend. Friendly staff and quick service. Only one problem, ordered 2 cans of diet coke and they gave us Dr. Peppers, they did not inform us that they are out the coke and will give us Dr. Peppers instead.

By far the best pizza! It is all about the crust and Mambos has the best crust. Stopped in to get a few pizzas for a late night check in for camping. Raved about the pizza to my out of town friends and they did not disappoint. Love that you can order an XL pizza and be able to get 4 different types on 1 pizza.

Never disappoints. They go above and beyond, every single time. Lovely staff and great food. Any pizza you choose will probably taste really good! I like all the veggie ones, the hangover and Montreal style!

Best Gluten free pizza I have ever had, hands down. It took 45 minutes to get but because it was fresh made for us. Worth every second of the wait!! The crust was delicious and held up to the mountain of toppings. And the toppings were fresh and abundant! Staff was very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Need more stars!

One of the best pizza places we have ever tried. We have a bunch of pizza places in vancouver but this one hits the spot for us. We love how we can split the pizza into 4 different flavours. Prices are reasonable as the staff and quality is superb. Also their sweet garlic sauce is to die for, always need to order 6 or more for every pizza we get. If you’re in town, definitely try this place out!

Second to none, amazing pizza, my favourite by far is the Kahuna, bbq sauce with pineapple and bacon — next level sh!t. Seriously enjoy any pizza from Mambos, slices are always nice and fresh for walk-ins. There is also something to be said about a business that isn’t ruled by greed, they are closed on Sundays! I like to think that’s it’s cuz they care about the people that work there!

Found this place recommended when visiting Nanaimo. Epically good pizza. No deals, no 2 for 1 but really good pizza.
