Mamasan Bali in Kuta

Been to mamasan many times before with my visits to Bali.Overall the food is lovely but I was not overwhelmed with the flavours and nothing made me want to cherish this experience. Sorry but I was disappointed. Service was perfect.No view, no wow factor. Another just good restaurant for me.Look elsewhere for a foodie experience that has it all....

Nice food and decoration. Its a little over-rated/priced though for what it is. I had the wan tan mee with duck and that was very good. My daughter had the salad which was far too acidic. Nice server with a pleasant demeanor. The place is also always rammed with Aussies. So, getting a table is hard at times and youll probably need to book. It can be very noisy too.

Great place with great ambience, the appetizers were FIRE (tried the xiaolongbao, shell crab and fried dumplings). Main course I found the flavor a bit too heavy, but besides that no complaints. Def come with friends here as the starting point of your night out. Can’t wait to be back 👍🏾

Amazing food here at Mamasan! We ordered the crispy chicken dumpling.. 8/10; the samosa chaat 10/10; lamb rogan josh 15/10 so so perfectly cooked. The meat was tender the curry was awesomely cooked and the taste was absolutely bliss! This chef has mastered the art of cooking is what we can say. We also ordered the lamb roti paratha 10/10 for that as well! When in Bali do not miss this place! Book in advance to get a reservation.PS: the staff is amazing too!

Ambiance wise was dim and cosy. Even had the pleasure of going upstairs for drinks while we waited. Hats off to the bartender for the excellent drinks all night!! Best espresso martini our party has ever had that we had a few rounds of it too.The food itself came fairly quickly and everything we ordered was delicious, particularly the Slow Cooked Beef Rendang bursting with spicy goodness.

Great choices on menu which were tasty. We had some delicious starters and the steamed fish.. 👍🏻 the service was warm, friendly and professional with an exciting atmosphere. Love this place.

Good food great service and wonderful interiors. The lamb and duck were really good and samosa chaat was sublime. The dumplings were not so good the filling was tasty but the dumpling 🥟 itself tore easily and stuck to the small ceramic cups and was basically soggy due to the melted aspic leaking (it’s the wrapper that was a fail). Have had many dumplings and this was not as good as it could have been. However overall experience was really good. I would come back :-)

Always top quality food and service. Loved the pork and squid salad and the snapper yellow curry with pilaf rice and cashews was just delicious. Could have a few more wines available by the glass, didnt ruin experience though, it was lovely. Excellent service from moment we arrived to the door man arranging our taxi as we left.

I was here in 2018 remember here was quite a atmosphere! Today was shopping in Seminyak then pouring rain I have to jump into here to avoid wet ! Turns out such a delicious and big bowl seafood fried rice with good vibes! Definitely worth the penny ! Mamasan I will be back !

Delicious food, on the pricey side but worth the price in my opinion. Everything tasted fresh and was packed with flavour, cocktails are also very nice. Good atmosphere

Mamasan Restaurant is good restaurant in Bali .I was really impressed with the food and the cocktails served here. The Coconut Mojito and Chili Lime margarita cocktail are my favorite drinks . The Beetroot dumpling were packed full of flavour and were super sticky and delicious. The Dendeng balado were incredibly crispy and inside very juicy . The Pavlova and Crème brûlée were also very good.The service is friendly and attentive and we felt truly welcomed.

Absolutely amazing dinning experience. Service is top notch, greeted by the friendly door staff who offer complementary valet.We were seated promptly at 6:30 and ordered cocktails and food. Everything is designed to share and it’s highly recommended. Try to sample as much as you can, as far as fusion restaurants go this is one of the best.We were not kept waiting long as drinks and food arrived rather quickly given how busy the restaurant was.The vibe is intimate, and service is second to none. There is a dress code which adds to the level of class.Highly recommend

Unfortunately for us, the food quality did not live up to the hype we were looking forward to. We ordered salt and pepper vegetables, spring rolls and dumplings. 2/3 entrees were tasty. Our main was the massaman curry. It was a let down for us, as it didnt have much chicken or potatoes in it, was very saucy and too salty. Cocktails were strong but palatable. Food service and cleanliness was efficient, however it would have been better to have the 2 cocktails come out together, rather than wait 10 minutes between the second one arriving. Staff were friendly but not engaging, so overall it was an average experience, but not a memorable one.

Went with a large group. The food was barely edible, I could not eat it. Left hungry, spent $50 a head and ate go jek delivery at home. Noodles over cooked mushy. No one liked the food. I think someone who has never tried Asian food and likes very bland food would be the only target customer. Even the rice was poorly cooked.

Overrated. Food was good but nothing special, nor better than the average Thai restaurant in Australia. The soft shell crab was nothing but shell, legs, and batter - lacked any meat. Expensive for Bali; prices on par with Australia. So many great restaurants in Bali. Give this a miss.

Everything in this restaurant was good especially the food. All the food we ordered were pretty delicious.

Mamasan never fails to satisfy me. Love their peking duck, gurame & dendeng sapi. Price range is expensive, however you’ll get good quality of food. Must visit when you’re in Seminyak area.

Highly rated place with a mix of Thai/Asian food. I couldn’t give 5 starts because the food just wasn’t as good as we expected. Food is good and the restaurant itself is really cool, very spacious, clean and even has free wifi! We actually had to work whole there and it’s nice that they had a 2nd level (smoking section I thinkthat has sofa/chairs/bar.Overall I would say food is ok, I would prefer local (cheaperbut the portions are nice size, presentation is good and well seasoned. I would skip the duck, it’s not traditional Peking duck so maybe it’s due to our expectations.Location is just off the busy strip.Reservations are a must & you need to confirm the kids after 6pm stipulation that restricts you making online reservations if you have children. We went at lunch to avoid it so confirm first if you want to go for dinner.Security or something like that at the door.Nice drink menu & good service.

Remember it being better last time, but probably partially down to what I ordered. Experience was dampened by a 10 minute delay between mains arriving at the table (suspect the waiter forgot to put it through or something). Otherwise nice venue and food.

It seems quite overhyped.We all four had bad experience wherein1we made a reservation for 4 people and they made us sit in a congested area. Despite a sofa area where they said was reserved for a group of 6 people. But later on only two people sat there.2we asked for beer but they poured poorly. Beer is meant to be poured at 45 degrees.3they brought rice way before the curry and rice got saggy. So we ordered more rice.4we got drinks way later than we started food.

This is my second visit to this restaurant and it has been incredible both times.The food is full of flavour and the serves are generous.The service was a little slow tonight but the restaurant was completely full with people waiting to come in.The lobster Shu mai, red duck curry and Szechuan chicken and prawns were the stand outs for me. We also really enjoyed the salt and pepper squid, popcorn prawns, crispy chicken dumplings, salted pork, side vegetables and rice.The cocktails are also extremely good.It’s not the first visit and it won’t be the last.

Food was ok though it wasnt great until I would be keen to revisit anytime soon.Cocktails stood out - ordered the coconut mojito which was splendidly prepared.

This was the peak of our Bali dining experiences. Wow so good. The lobster and prawn dumplings, the roasted half duck. The chicken curry. Bah gawd the flavors. Essential stop if you come to Bali. For realz.

Not cheap, but the food was outstanding. The salt and pepper squid was superb, as was the beef rendang. Cocktails were excellent as well, especially the elderflower martini. Would definitely go back!

Not as good as it was 5yrs ago but still has a great fun vibe. Food certainly nowhere near the old quality as the smaller bite plates used to bebthe best but nothing really there to shares for groups properly anymore

The restaurant has great decor/vibe and the food was delicious. They only had a few veggie options and it would be great to have more.I had a raspberry mojito which was nice, but it would be good to have more Asian inspired drinks to match the food menu.

Second time at this beautiful place, had a light lunch. Service is very friendly and the restaurant is worth the walk! Had the tuna tataki and thai fish cakes, both véry nice 👍🏼

Love it, the place is luxurious including a delicious food they are served. Its Asian Food and Western food they are served, some of Indian food also available. Good for family and friends gathering.

The crispy lemon grass chicken is reaaaally crispy and thats awesome ! Very tender !My gf got roasted duck salad and loved it too !The place is awesome, and the lights makes it cozy. The only drawback are the prices, but for that quality of food it is normal !

Good place to dine in. Their menu is mixed of Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese. Tasty and good in personal size portion.The place has dark, rustic Asian bar vibe. It may not be suitable for family with kids but perfect for friends to hang out. Book seats ahead as it might get crowded and full seated in busy hours.

Lovely asian fusion. Came at lunch time but not everything was available. We had tuna tartare, crispy fried fish, soft shell crab pad thai, prawn and pomelo salad. Food was well seasoned and very very tasty. Worth a special trip down.

Mamasan was such a great experience, the food was delicious and service was quick. The duck was my favourite dish, followed by the ribs. You need to try their drinks, especially their cocktails/mock-tails. This will be a new destination for me every time I’m back in Bali.

Excellent Taste! The service is also great. They recommend some menu and all taste fantastic. Try their Red Curry Duck, Gurame, and also some veggies. I actually ordered more than two dishes but I didnt capture all of them.I suggest to come with your friends and family as they serve quite big portion, and by sharing the meal you can add more variety of food to your table.

Quite overrated, the taste of Masamma curry was to sweet. Roasted duck just ok. Cheese Nan too oily.Too pricey for the food like this.

What I like the most is when the waiter give us advices that what goes well with what when we ordered the food. The portions are big and the tastes are good. But maybe our expectation is higher since we heard that this place is always full everyday in the past. We thought the food will be more unique but mostly are thai food and the fushion is not too extraordinary. But still its good and price is reasonable.
