Mama Eat Street Food - Restaurant in Vatican City, Vatican City
After visiting heavens representative on hearth, this is something similar for a coeliac in Rome. To find a full menu gluten free in a crowded tourist area with great food isnt something you can find everywhere. The staff is also great. They may not be the fastest ones, but take your time and enjoy a quiet meal.
Everything was so good we ate here three times in our 4 days in Rome! The pizza was the best gluten-free version weve tried by far, and everything else was absolutely perfect too.
Small spot with delicious food. I ordered the Mama Arancino ragú which was flavorful followed by A neran pasta which I enjoyed and was a proper portion. Sevice was great and on point. I recommend this place.
Best gluten-free pizza EVER! I doubted it was gluten free! It was SO good!
Some of the best gluten-free food Ive ever had. Amazing pizza and croquettes, very friendly staff, very fair prices. Couldnt ask for more. If youre visiting Rome and eating gluten-free this place is a must.
A wonderful gluten free restaurant in Rome. Pizza was on point and the pasta filling and tasty. So good we ate here twice during our visit to Italy.
A cute place tucked away, the entire menu is gluten free (coeliac heavenand the food was delicious. Inside is rather small with tables close together but we didnt make a reservation, turned up around 7pm and was seated straight away. I was able to take some of my dessert away with me. The staff member was friendly but did seem a little rushed - he was the only person we saw all night, even when the place was almost full.
Best gluten free restaurant in Rome. I highly recomend it.
The marinara pizza was quite good. But not many vegan options in the menu other then some side dishes and the marinara pizza. The very rude waiter thought vegan was an ingredient. And when we tried to explain what we meant, they even asked if we “spoke English” (as we were communicating with them in English but apparently not very well for their liking 🙄). Very unfriendly and made the taste of the pizza feel flat.
No vegan options as the reviews says. Pizza only Marinara vegan. Pasta is not vegan. Vegan side dishes available though. Food was good. Waiter unfriendly and does not understand what vegan means.
They had the fluffiest gluten free pizza dough we found in Italy, so it is worth trying! Although I enjoyed their fresh dough, their pizzas were not my favorite due to the toppings/flavor options—the options felt a bit limited to me.Their gluten free donuts were also dry and not what I was expecting, I would recommend going with the gluten free tiramisu instead :I also loved their potato croquettes (GF).
The gluten free margherita was absolutely delicious! The most perfect gluten free pizza dough I have ever eaten 😋
This place is amazing. Everything is gluten free and tastes SO GOOD. Staff were so friendly and everything was a good sized portion for a really good price. One of the best gluten free meals I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!
Starters were delicious, the pasta was okay but I couldn’t manage that much because it was too creamy. Everything here is completely gluten free. We also got the donuts, they were delicious but rock hard, not sure if that’s what they were supposed to be. Great location. The Prosecco was delicious.
Excellent food! Everything is glutenfree here - no contamination possible. Unfortunately it’s a small location so you have to wait to get a table. Our waitress was amazing, taking care of everything that day. Loved it here!
The food is incredible, and the staff so friendly - Mama Eat Lab is a must visit if you’re Celiac! We shared arancini, a pasta dish, and a pizza dish, and all were amazing. I’d say it was one of my favorite meals in Rome.
*CALLING ALL COELIAC KINGS AND QUEENS*SHE HAS WAITED HER WHOLE LIFE FOR THIS. It was absolutely BANGING. Literally the best gluten free pizza she’s ever had, look how happy she is. Big Love Mama Eat Lab <3
Very interesting and super delicious pizza dough. I would order a plain pizza without any sauce nor toppings and eat the bread alone if I could. For some reason it felt like Indian Naan bread. I think you deep-fried the bread or something? I dont know how you did it but so far, this is the only restaurant I would recommend in Rome.
Soooo gooood 👍👍😋😋, one of the best restaurant near Vatican City!
We went there to try Italian streetfood. I have ordered Arancini stuffed with cheese and pork but all what I got is fried rice balls with no filling😪 also we ordered chicken strips, they were super dry and very hard to eat.So we didnt had our lunch.Very bad experience and the place doesnt worth the good reviews that I have read about it👎One last thing the place is maybe good to grab a glass of wine or coffee but not more
4.5 stars. Excellent gluten free pizza. Excellent meatballs. Friendly staff. Place doesnt look like much but it delivers on quality and price. Unique dishes, fresh ingredients, well prepared and nicely presented. Everything is gluten free.
Finally a GREAT gluten free restaurant. Its very small and exclusive, there are many variations of Italian dishes, I got mozzarella alla sorrentina and pizza ripiena. They were both ABSOLUTELY great in flavour, and the tomato sorrentina sauce absolutely 10/10. Wish I spent more days in Rome to go back.
Lovely ingredients great service while only one waiter. The meat in the burger was a little bit sweet the fish was the best meal. Lovely little cafe near the Vatican only 5 minutes walk.
Great place for gluten free dinner. All you order is gluten free. Even from beer there are gluten free options. Great pizza and pasta, and overall great price / performance ratio. Definitely recommended!
I went in wih high expectations and went out disappointed and I went especifically to that zone to eatThe place is cold , you dont feel like the costumer really care.I ordered the mixed of fried Fruti di mare which wich wasnt tasty at all and it was served with" salad" wich I disagree to call it like that , a salad should have at least 2 vegetables and it was only lettuce, for me this is a decoration and it doesnt have even any dressing. ..so I wouldnt sell it as saladAt the end the cost/ benefit rate was too bad.I hope they make the adjustments because celiac deserve the same quality and appreciation of everybody else
Great place to get a quick bite of youre gluten free. The food and staff do a great job. They were busy both times we visited. Its definitely worth the wait.
Oh my gosh it was my first totally gluten free restaurant in Rome and all I can say was “Wow.” I was a little worried about coming to Rome as a celiac but if this is how it is being celiac in Italy I’m never going home! The server was very pleasant and attentive too.
The absolute best carbonara Ive had in Rome. Didnt even notice the different texture of the gluten free pasta, and was really happy that my friend with celiac could finally enjoy pasta in Italy. Matteo and Gabriele provided phenomenal service. Will come back again and again!
The calzone was worst dish I had in Italy. The dough was extremely chewy, it tasted like nothing, no life. I dont recommend this place at all. I gave the feedback to the waiter, and I didnt get any reply from the responsible for that dish. Ill never come back.
We needed to find gluten free food in Rome and this place had lots of options. The food was cooked fresh and the service was amazing. Their gf pizza was made on site versus many other places that the gf was the food service type.
Amazing place close to Vaticans main square. Friendly staff, delicious food (mainly pastaand wine, air conditioning (and toilets :)and fair prices. Definitely recommended.
Everything was perfect! The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the mama eat gluten free craft beer was incredible! My daughter and I had zepoline to start and the pistachio pizza for lunch. For desert she had the doughnuts, and I had the pistachio tiramisu. I cannot believe everything was gluten free it was so good!!! It was hands down the best gluten free food I have ever had from a restaurant. Please come to America Mama Eat!!!
Had a great experience for someone with celiac disease. The whole entire menu is gluten free so you can order whatever you want. The donuts sticks with Nutella was so good. Had the greatest time spent literally more than an hour in the restaurant and loved everything. The person accompanying me who was not gluten free really liked it as well. Hope to come again when I revisit Rome.
Best pizza we had in Rome, after tasting a good share of options and its also gluten free. They use top ingredients and know how to combine them well to make great sauces, which apparently is quite rare so we came back on our last day. Check the whole menu and dont skip the dessert section, we found some divine GF doughnuts.PS, my wife is the one with Celiac and I loved every bite.
Nice people and good restaurant. Great carbonara, good calzone, but horrible calamari. 17 euros for really bad calamari.
We had a very nice dinner. We ordered 3 different pizzas and all 3 were very good. We also order pasta which was also very good. Very nice to find a gluten free place in Rome😁keep up with a good job👌🏻 greetings from Ljubljana, Slovenia.
This place is absolutely phenomenal. I ordered a margarita pizza which was gluten and lactose-free and it was so divine. The crust was warm and a little bit crunchy and yummy and the pizza itself was so so so good. The only reason my stomach hurts is because I ate the entire thing by myself pretty much. Other than that, no gluten or dairy pain.
Hands down the best gluten free meal I’ve had during my whole trip. It’s so wonderful to go into a restaurant and have their entire menu be gluten free. We started by sharing a potato croquette which was topped with cheese and spinach. This croquette was so amazing I am still thinking about it. For our main entree we shared a lasagna which was to die for so cheesy and flavorful. We finished our meal by sharing an order of donuts rolled in sugar with a drizzle of Nutella. Personally, I had never had a gluten free donut so this was a phenomenal treat. I’m heading back to Rome in a month and I’m already dreaming of eating here again!
I’ve waited fifteen years to have gluten free pizza taste this good! I don’t know why America can’t figure it out, but Italy can and has! This place was amazing for gluten free and seriously SO delicious. My gluten loving husband also loved the gluten free pizza. Just go!
My wife and I ate here for lunch one day after touring the Vatican. She is gluten intolerant, so we ordered a gluten free pizza. I do not normally eat gluten free, but this pizza was way better than any other gluten free pizza I’ve ever tried and my wife said the same thing. And I was surprised to learn the cheese was lactose free as well. The staff was friendly, the pizza was great, and I would recommend it to anybody visiting the Vatican, especially if you or somebody you’re traveling with is gluten intolerant.
Not only the best gluten-free dishes but I had the A Neran which was the best pasta I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. Amazing! The arancini balls were yummy too. A must see if you visit the Vatican and worthwhile cab ride if you have a gluten allergy.
The experience was good. We made a reservation day of on a Monday and it wasn’t an issue. The food was good and the service was good as well. Everything is gluten free. Went with a friend with severe celiac and the staff said everything is gluten free so she was able to eat everything without issues.Food was slighting more expensive that it would be out in town. For people with gluten issues it’s perfect. For me it was not quite the same and I don’t know if I would eat it by choice in the future.Could return
The BEST glueten free food in the area. We had the pasta, GF dough balls and asparagus with garlic. All were perfect. Friendly very helpful staff that spoke fluent Wnglish was a + for us as well. Hope we can visit again soon.
Wonderful gluten free restaurant close to the vatican.we all know how difficult it can be to find really good gluten free fried foods. The calzones are absolutely phenomenal. If you need gluten free food, absolutely so not pass up this place. You will not be disappointed.
A small place, not far from the Vatican City, with awesome original Italian food like pizza & pasta. The Calzone was super tasty, the bread was amazing. The mini pizzas were buttery and soft with not too much cheese.Highly recommend.
Thanks you for this Amazing glutenfree meal !We took arancine for 2, one pizza for 2 (pistacchioand 2 tiramisu (classic and pistacchio). Thanks you for the meal under the sign of pistacchio !We are @glutenonfood (Gluténonon Instagram and other social medias !(Didnt worked on TripAdvisor website)
Very good restaurant with gluten free options. Their lasagna and polpetones were delicious. They speak English and take cards. Totally worth it.
Very nice customer service. We tried the sampler of pizza, calzone and fried zucchini. The pizza was fried and fresh but very bland. Calzone was also bland. The fried zucchini was palatable but not great. They serve ketchup and Mayo for dipping. The wine tasted home made and we couldn’t finish it. It’s hard to measure with all of the available wine in Italy.
This place is absolutely amazing. We went here 2 times during our trip to Rome. I never had any gluten free pizza this good. The dessert donut with nutella is awesome, the staff is absolutely amazing, the menu is great.. I cannot say a bad word about this restaurant. I wish we couldve eaten all our meals here. The gentlemen that served us were super friendly and we had a great chat with the man, I think his name was Stefano?Definitely go here if you eat gluten free, lactose free but also if youre just into awesome food, because you wont notice for a second youre eating gluten free. It should be absolutely stacked with customers!! We tried 3 different pizzas, a fried chicken starter, bruschette, a fried pizza starter and nutella donuts and they were all up to the same great quality. Highly recommend for lunch, dinner but also for a quick bite :)! Thank you for making our trip much easier.
Delicious, quick, fantastic. Cant tell a difference between regular and gluten free pizza. Fav spot in Rome.
