Recreation of a ca.-1905 Thai town, with food, culture demos & traditional Thai costumes for rent.
Big place. Nice staff. You can just buy tickets in the location. Try to wear traditional Thai dress. Nice place to taking pictures and spending time when you in Kanchanaburi. Just enjoy walking through Thai traditional atmosphere.
Far as moon and sun. Attractive, polite, and friendliest changed and turned us there as fish.
Come to experience how Thais in early 1900s live. They even use traditional Thai money which is satang where you can change at a “Bank” in the middle of the city. You can even rent costumes! Totally loved the experience
Great place to visit, just 30 minutes from Kanchanaburi , beautiful Thai houses and gardens , cafes , shops ,dress up in Thai costumes if you feel like it .. spend a few happy hours here!
Interesting to spend the morning here. The entrance fee is Baht200 and it comes with 2 coupons for exchange of a dessert and a appetizer. Also, the entrance ticket can get you 50% discount on coffee at the Black Canyon Coffee situated at the entrance. You can exchange at a rate of 1:5 obtain the ancient coins for the purchase of food within the park. Unused coins can be exchanged back to cash at the entrance/ exit.Lots of good photography opportunities. Here you can learn about thr lifestyle of the earlier days via the Old building structures here. Schools also arrange tour groups here to study the culture, this is one reason why the Thais are so traditional and they follow closely to their culture.
A replay of Thai in the olden days. Good effort to make it very real with people and animals (cowsliving here.Entrance fee of $200 is inclusive of a ice dessert and a spring roll. Both are delicious but in diff location. I ended up having to walk back to the same route to claim the free food. Lucky staff are very friendly.Make sure to climb the city tower for a bird’s eye view.
Great food and experience. You can dress up and pretend to travel back in time.
Absolutely unique experience. Cant recommend highly enough! Mallika was the most memorable place we visited in Kanchanaburi.
Interesting experience here. The place required visitors to change baht into ancient coins to purchase food/items within the compound. It was clean and serene; some good views from the tower too!
Hard to believe this is a picture from a gas station. Thailand has the best gas stations. My wife calls them "pumps"
Travel that simulates being in the past There is an entrance fee. Promotion price 200 baht, normal price 250 baht, entrance fee can be exchanged for ice cream. Mango sticky rice, delicious taste, good atmosphere, simulates well-being. vast place Overall considered ok
Very beautiful place. Heaven for photographers. 200 bhat ticket price. Worth visiting.
You can choose between a normal entrance and pay for food with ancient coins or take a full ticket and eat from every shop and buffet for free. There is many many food to try.
Mallika is just a very nice place to go.It is a beautiful place with wonderful landscaping and a very relaxed feel. I think it is worth the price of admission just to enjoy it as a park.Add to the park experience a chance to learn some Thai culture and history, see some traditional Thai housing and architecture, enjoy some traditional Thai meals and snacks, and, if you want, dress up in traditional "everyday" clothes for photo opportunities and fun, its an excellent place to visit for an hour or two, or even more!Mallika is a relaxed and leisurely place to visit, and maybe take along a picnic, too!Highly recommended!
This place is so beautifully kept. One can feel the history come alive as you walk back in time. Its certainly well worth the trip.
Thailand in bohlan (ancient periodtime that use coins 🪙 as currency with way of their lifestyle, dressing, foods, music, etc. 200฿ for all, another 200-400฿ depends on spending inside with coins system. Don’t miss top view of tower and come on dance show time. Also have Thai traditional dress for rent.
Same price for foreigners and Thais - 200 baht. It was not that busy even though it was a long weekend (covid time). Very well designed and maintained. Food and drinks were good and cheap.
The old style city since 1800-1900 or during King Rama IV-V. Inside the city, all staffs wear old style custome and of couse you can rent this as well. The currency used for all food and drink is also the old stlye coin that you have to change at the front.
Beautiful little falk village. Worth to visit to walk and relax, experience early 20th thai, and photo shoots
Skansen. An interesting place showing life in Thailand about 200 years ago. Residential buildings, music, utility rooms. You can not only watch but also try your own rice processing. An additional attraction is the opportunity to dress up in traditional Thai clothing from that era.
I love this place!! I would totally come back and if given the chance Id take all my friends there. Its a very fun experience!! around 350฿ to get in, including a rental of period clothing from the past. (Optional,if you dont want to get dressed i believe it cost less..but you should get dressed, its fun!!)The people there are so super sweet. (The girl who dressed me, bb, was awesome! I really recommend this place. Its beautiful, lots of picture perfect corners and architect to take great pictures. Also has food places that sells old traditional Thai foods and deserts that are now hard to find. (Change money to little old looking coins to use insidePrepare to spend about 2-4 hours, you can walk around the time depends on how much you want to interact, stop to take pics, eat etc. Oh, just a note, use the restroom before you get onto the pants cuz..yea, itll be kinda tricky trying to figure it out yourself (however if you do need to get re-dressed, the staff are very helpful.Another tip, pay for the little cart that the staff pulls to get you inside. I think it was less than 50฿ and so worth it. (Save the walking for inside :)
It is very good place to visit with thai traditional dresses and foods.
Its really cool to visit this thai ancient city. The entrance fee is 200 bath but if you want to wear a traditional thai custume and walk around the city... take a picture ...whatsoever ... you must pay more (around 600 bath include entrance fee)
Id like to have more tourists to check up this place because they build up the old town in Thailand. If the foreigner prefer to learn Thai traditional and culture so this is the good place. Anyhow, the negative points that I gave 3 stars for the place was the people who visited or staffs Im not sure talking impolite that is not respect the place. I feel a little upset because this is the good education place for travelers and Thai peoples, so the management should waring their staffs and visitors to respect Thai culture and place where they visit or work.
This placed be great for period prewedding and if you are a fan of "Love Destiny" then you cant miss it!
Travel back in time in this town called Mallika. You get to experience the old town stores, floating market, town community hall, etc. The base entrance fee is THB250. The better deal is THB500 for entrance fee & buffet lunch from 11.00 am to 2 pm. Rickshaw ride for THB50. Although the buffet spread is not extensive, its more than enough to fill the stomach. Be prepared to spend a few hours here.Taking the rickshaw is a good idea as it takes you right to the furthest point where you get the see the old time kitchen, and the padi-rice dehusking process. Theres a discount, so we got the buffet and entrance fees at THB450 and rickshaw at THB30. Not sure if its a weekday discount as we came on a Wednesday.
Living museum and culture park that brought you to experience Kanchanaburi and Thailand or Siam from 1905 AD. The time stop here and you will absolutely experience the lifestyle of tradition and the culture which is really amazing. Introduction are given clearly about this park by local staff who wanted us to really experience the lifestyle during that era. You may join them by wearing traditional costumed to experience real life in this place. All shops, traditional houses, small city with all landscape are well made and created to bring out the feelings from that time. Local shops selling life food cooked and process traditionally made this place so interesting. Enjoy locally to see daily life by their local currency (during that timeand shops using it at floating market here. It is best for a group tours, study trips, romantic treats and family or friends group... must go when you are in Kanchanaburi
I recommend to change your dress to traditional Thai costume. And should get there in the early morning ( open hour is 9:00ambecause it will be easier when you wanna take photo in Mallika town.
Like walking back into Thai history. The buildings are magnificent, set in beautiful grounds. If you want to buy food or articals ,everything is made in the old way. Well worth a visit.
Step back in time to the reign of King Rama 5Very interesting concept where everyone (including youdress in period costume, use period money, and visit period shops. A great historical lesson by actually living it. You change money to old style money and pay in old time prices. Priceless photo opportunities everywhere. There should be more like this throughout Thailand and everywhere else for that matter.
Fun day trip to reproduction of 1900s Thai village. Lots of touristic standards but fun nevertheless. Nice market and great snacks and simulated period items in the market.
Quite interesting. You would expect being a cosplayer of traditional thai people and enjoy local food there. There would be more people and traveller around 4 oclock. From 2 to about 4 oclock, my girl friend and I were the omly visitors. The foods were usually seen in thailand night market and tasted average.
Nice place near Kanchanaburi that immerse old culture at Thailand around 100 years ago at King Rama V era.It cost only 350 Baht per person including Thai clothes rent and entrance fee.It have mamy traditional Thailand dishes inside also.
Even i went there on holiday, its a little bit quite. However, the thai traditional desert is quite cheaper than floating market and not too sweet. You can dress up in Thai traditional costume and you need to exchange to old thai money to buy thing inside. Cash only. There is a cafe you can enter but it look like a normal red door with small sign. Everyone there talk with you in Thai old style language. Not sure if there is a english speaking staff there.
nice place to spend an hour to half-day here. Just let yrself blend to the Thai traditional way of living. Eat Thai, Dress Thai. Not too crowded during the peak. But extremely hot during summer.
Very affordable attraction. My girlfriend had me wear the Thai traditional dress and for a male I was not comfortable and using the restroom was not an option. But the smile it put on her face and the pictures definitely made it worth it.
Lots of interesting things, building and culture to see and learn here. Everything is all back to ancient period: your cloths (they have rental traditional cloths for you), environment, food and even money!!!!! If you want to go back in time, put this in your list!!!
A beautiful Thai historical park on the road from Kanchanaburi to Sai Yok. Many nice historical buildings with a few small restaurants and shops. A very beautiful garden. Very friendly staff. Recommendation for a half day visit.
This place looks nice! Good to have a walk around and take photos! You can also enjoy dressing in Thai here!! Thai costume can be rented on the spot (additionally fees apply - not so cheap). But don’t expect fancy costume. They are just simple ones! You can’t use the real money inside. You have to exchange to the so-called money in the past to use inside which u can change it back later if you don’t use all of them up! There are food, drinks and some goods available inside. But they are just alright, not extraordinary or anything. There weren’t much activities to do inside apart from just walking around. I think their main purpose was to resemble the lives of Thai people in the past (how they live etc). I think they didn’t meet this expectation whatsoever. Also it’s not a museum, so don’t expect to get educated about history much here. Actually it’s just like any other tourist attractions.
Nice atmosphere!!! This place made me feel like we date back to an old time. All staff talked nicely and smootly in old Thai langauge. We bought a package for entry fee, costume and lunch buffet at 650 Baht. Only one thing I like them to improve is a direction sign. No direction sign and it was very confusing on a hot day. I absolutely didnt enjoy walking there even I am a walking lover. For lunch buffet, i liked it bcoz there were many old Thai dishes served there. If you just wanted to stop at one place and give it a try, buy a ticket for lunch buffet. For the costume dressing, the system there was quite good. There were staff who helped you dress up. No worries! Give it a try, I do recommend it once in a life time.
Tourist attractions for mainly Thai people. They have created a place that look like old Thai way of living. You can rent Thai clothes and enjoy the area taking pictures.
Great day out. Yes its highly manufactured but its stunning and well maintained. Very little of it was in English though as I think its mainly aimed at Thais to learn more about their history. Didnt see many other tourists either. Was worth popping in on the way back to Kanchanaburi
Amazing place for architecture lovers and the ones who would like to see thai traditions. I enjoyed a lot! Houses are beautifull and this small city has a really special atmosphere. You can even dress in thai tradicional clothes. And you can order food inside this area. But you need to pay with old coins..so you need to exchange money for them. This is sth I was searching for two months here in Thailand. For sth traditional ❤.They also show how they are treating the rice and shreading coconuts. The ticket costs 200bahat/person. Totaly worth the money.
Love this place !! Its not like normal place of interest ancient city, this place offers rental service of Thai traditional costume for both male and female, children and adults. Must try !!! Most local and foreign visitors will choose to change the costume and work inside the ancient city, its like a time travel back to the old times. In the ancient city, all workers are dressed up in the traditional Thai costume and also speak in an old traditional way. All visitors must exchange Thai baht into old currency to use inside. The price of food inside is reasonable. Highly recommended to visit this place once you are in Kanchanaburi province.
Great place to experience ancient Thailand. Food and building and even the smell of the area is so real. People are nice. Not many English speaking people though. Signs boards with price and food is in Thai. Nonetheless, great place to learn about history and food

Mallika R.E. 124 is the best place for taking nice photos in Kanchanaburi. Traditional Thai costumes are avaliable for everyone. There are souvenir shops, food stalls, Thai style houses that you will see how Thai people in King Rama V era lived. You will enjoy exploring each section as its large area and good production. However, some decoration and building design do not match with tradional Thai surroundings.
Good to walking around in ancient Thai traditional in King Rama fifth period.you can try food and be participating outfits too
A glimpse back in time. Gives one a view of life in Siam at the turn of the 20th century. Beautifully maintained offering visitors an opportunity to sample traditional Thai dishes and desserts
This is a replica of old Thailand, everything down to the way that people dress and speak to you. You have the option of renting old Thai style dress before entering, and to buy food inside you need to exchange money for old coin currency, with everything being priced in "salung" an old unit of money not used anymore. This is similar to Disney Dollars in concept. The price of food is very reasonable and tastes very good, and is authentic. You can view and learn about old Thai traditions such as making rice, and view old styled buildings. You cant go wrong coming here! There is an admission charge but at 200 baht, its very reasonable for a few hours of fun, education and photo ops.
