Malin Plaza - Night market in Kathu, Thailand
Malin Plaza in Kathu
Description
Privilege
Food was good but the shopkeepers were too pushy.
Small market with choice of fresh and cooked food. Vendors can be annoying as they’re jumping in front of you offering their food
MoreHuge night market, one of the biggest in Patong. It has a huge variety of food stalls. Must try is the coconut ice cream, really good! However one of the best food items isnt being sold inside the market. Just opposite of the market you might spot a small food cart selling freshly made fried chicken. It was actually the best item of the night!
MoreYou’ll be hard pressed to find a Thai person in this market. Men pushing menus in your face harder than when you were pushed out into this world. Pad kra pao with rubber beans to look like chillis, when in fact there were none. Safe to say, this market ties in with the majority of Patong which caters for the westerners wanting to find themselves and enlighten themselves by touching an elephant. I’ll be off to the other side where the true locals go
MoreAmazing ribz and fresh seafood, they are open till midnight so thats a bonus
This is the night food market, lots of hassle but great fresh food, especially the fish and seafood.
MoreBeautiful place if you want the Thai informal food experience without the hustle and bustle of the city centre.Everything is clean, quick, tasty and seemingly healthy. The vendors work well together as you are able to buy different things from different people, including the bar service with no hassle.
MoreAmazing food, good hard working people. Can shop souvenirs. Fruit juice, desserts, grill food, Sea food. We might have been there about 5 times just to eat and have desserts. Please try pina colada 40Baht its a killer. made with fresh coconut cream and pineapple :)
MoreVery nice night market. The vendors are highly annoying and in your face the whole time, trying to get you to buy from them. I find it quite annoying.
MoreOne of the many small shopping Stretch mainly targeted at Thai Street food. Not a wide spread shopping experience but if you stay close by a small time pass would fit
MoreGreat Pad Thai for 100THB and Coke for 30 THB
Traditional thai barbecue availableMainly halal foodAlmost 10-12 stallNot very big1 fruit stallFood cost around 40-120 thai baht
MoreNon-locals run this place. The food is not authentic and the store owners laugh at you when you ask about the slightest discounts. The whole area is empty and I can definitely see why. Skip this one!
MoreU can find cheap food here. Some of the stalls are closed down due to pandemic.
Nice little spot for food, if youve visited other markets around Phuket then this one will be no different really, no stand outs here.
MoreA little bit far from the Patong beach area and bangla street but the night market here is bigger. Dont expect bangkok city big but it is bigger than the usual patong market.Mostly the sellers sell thai food, but there is buger and kebab too. Also selling seafood fresh ready to cook. Price is okay.We ordered dumpling and fried fish. The dumpling cost 100 baht for 12 pieces. What a steal! You can choose between chicken, pork, and vegetarian. We also order fried fish for 300 baht + rice 20 bahtBbq fish only cost 200.Toilet cost 5 baht. There are also small shopping area selling clothing and souvenirs.
MoreCheap food and great quantity of souvenirs
Great spot to eat. Cheap and fresh we went 3 times and it didnt disappoint also markets there.
MoreWe all love all recommendation which are Nakon offer us today. They all so super friendly, good food with fair price. We also enjoy the beer too. Thanks for all, boss.
MoreA bit of a hit or miss and not for the faint of heart. The grilled fish was good, cheap and fresh (200 Bahtwhereas the stir fried chicken with cashew as a disaster
MoreCheap cocktails with proper shots!Food is fast, tasty and affordable.People are friendly and not too pushy compared to the rest of Patong.
MoreHeaps of different food vendors to go to choice is endless I had a favourite place made best yellow noodles chicken and stir fry veggies with a touch of soy sauce second isle left hand side mature lady with husband 80 baht takeaway went there for 3 night dinner
MoreGood food. Friendly people.
The seafood here was the freshest and gave the most value for money. We had a whole fish, scallops, mussels, squid and shrimp for 700 baht! The other stalls selling clothes and accessories were more dated. We purchased a bath bomb we concluded later was already expired.
MoreBest of the experience at Bangkok for Kids.must visit safari world and marine park.Always buy ticket from India else om SPOT TICKETS ARE COSTLIER
MoreQuite a small night market, has a good variety of different food stalls at the front as well as shopping at the back but the variety in the shopping area is very limited. Most of the stores sell the same merchandise that you can find almost everywhere in Phuket. We didnt end up trying the food and only went there to buy some pants. Prices are a bit higher than what you could bargain for. I think its due to the market not being as busy as they would be used to and therefore owners cant discount as much compared to some of the larger/busier markets around
MoreNice place, food is so-so, lots of tourists. We had seafood and meat grilled. The fruit shakes are great 2 flavors of fruit shake for 50 baht. One of the many markets of the patong area.
MoreVery good selections of Thai food. Must try
The best place to eat in the Patong Phuket! Cheap prices and a lot of place to eat. Fresh shakes, pad thai, shrimps. You have places to seat and enjoy the food :Very fresh and good food!
MoreVendors are all very friendly, had a good fried rice and som tum here. The bars at the back provide much cheaper drinks than along the beachfront. Toilets are quite a walk away but kept very clean, although you will pay THB 10 for the privilege. I would note that at the time of writing (June 2022it was very quiet by 9/10pm on a Saturday night and a bit of a walk from the beach.
MoreSome of the best noodles I’ve ever had. The staff on some stalls really really try for you to buy their meals if it’s quiet but overall would eat again
Morecharming market at the entrance to patong. from street food and soups to lobster, everything is offered to you, the small "pubs" and restaurants put you in a good mood. you can also enjoy the delicacies you bought on the stone tables scattered around the market. ...if you love fruit shakes and smoothies you will be happy here (from 40 baht)
MoreThis is the best place possible to try the local food at the cheapest price. And my personal recommendation would be Lucky smoothies. Poo and Moi, more than great smoothies they make, they are the sweetest and wonderful people... If at all i miss something from Phuket is meeting these two everyday. I strongly recommend you buy anything Mango from Lucky Smoothies, its the best.
MoreWe stayed in the hotel across Malin Plaza, they have a lot of options to dine Thai street food, fresh fruit smoothies, fresh fruits, mini bars and a section for buying clothes and souvet
MoreMama Seafood at Malin Plaza serves the freshest seafood for practically nothing. My favourite is Pat Thai Goong for THB 100. In addition you can order any kind of drinks or fruit shakes from another shop nearby. Malin Plaza is very organic and consists of many individual small shops, where you can shop for fashion, bodycare or Thai food at very inexpensive prices. It closes at midnight 😀👍
MoreTheres not a lot of choices. For a place that sits next to the sea. Food at the market are a bit pricey. A piece of a regular tiger shrimp is at 50 baht, same with crayfish and scallop. A medium size tilapia is at 250-350 a piece. A one dish meal TomYum seafood with 2 pieces of shrimp, 1 small piece of sliced squid and a pc of mussel is at 180 - 200. Prices should be regulated especially that food is essential and serving is good for one. Market should always be lower and should offer a wide selection of food. Its also humid and the sounds of the nearby bars are loud.
More18/03/2022Definitely come here for fruit , Thai traditional Market and food
Great fresh food prepared for you, seafood, ribs, noodles etc etc etc Has tables to sit and places to buy drink. Great value
MoreLoved the place .. Lots of small shops selling food which was lovely with a variety of different types and all cooked very well (try the pineapple (half of a pineapplefilled with rice and seafood). Juice shops are a lot and very good. There is an exchange shop in-front of the entrance. A variety of Souvenir shops (just you need to bargain), and buy from here the fruit soaps as they are much cheaper than the airport (I believe any market will have the same price.NB just take your water with you as they sell it inside more expensive than usual.
MoreGreat collection of local goods. Attractive prices. The shopkeepers will reduce the rates if you haggle a bit. Big market. Has street food as well. Might appear unhygienic but for a street market, it’s pretty good.
MoreYou can find cheap local food in this market. This market is mostly for tourists. Not a big market but selection of food are quite variable. There are seatings in here.
MoreNice food market near beach for tourists. Prices are higher than regular, but still ok for foreigners. Rice 100-120 but, noodles 80-100 bat, sushi 10-20 bat per one piece, smoothie 60 bat, some mixed fruits 80 bat, specials 120-150 bat. It’s better come after 18, when all corners are working. But I like it in the morning - there are very small amount of tourists here.
MoreA good location to hangout for street food with largely variety and at affordable prices with good place to sit and enjoy your food with drinks. You can pick up beers from near by stores of 7-11 or family mart and order food from stalls and enjoy
MoreMalin Plaza is a very pretty night market in Patong, Phuket. The market has a lot of different shops. You can find diaries, souvenirs, idols, gifts and statues.I personally got a couple of diaries and incense sticks and got a really good deal. The key to shopping in this market and get a good price is to bargain a bit. But don’t bargain too much as the shop owners don’t like it.You can also find fresh meat, fruits and vegetables. There are also a bunch of open bars where you can find good food and beer. The staff is very polite and cordial. If you’re planning to go to the market, visit it around 8-9 PM as the market starts closing around 11:30-12:30 at night.
MoreThis place in Phuket lights up in the evening. It is foodies paradise. You will see countless shops selling everything from fruits, smoothies, barbeques, grills and snacks. We also found a small stall selling crocodile meat. Obviously we settled for the chicken steak. You can also buy clothes n jewelry here. It is well connected by cabs
MoreNice, like many other night markets in Asia. Lots of stalls, lots of food and lots of people. Lovely little bar, Namo pub, inside for a few drinks while you relax or enjoy dinner.
MoreThere is a wide variety of food and the stall owners are absolutely delightful. Everything is cooked freshly in front of you and smells amazing! If youre looking to buy souvenirs, I would definitely recommend buying it from here. You can haggle and get yourself a great deal if you buy everything from one stall!
MoreTons of options for fruits to ice cream to skewers to noodles cooked right before your eyes for us tourists to be sure its safe to eat. Really hot inside the crowded tents of course, but it is what it is. Long rows of clothing tents in the back, but all the same types of items. 5 bhat paid toilets/public showers in the back near the bus parking. Limited seating
MoreGreat night market with a good selection of food choices, from street food to number Thai food stalls.Reasonable price, can get cheap dishes and food.Come with friends and family for sharing. The inside of the market is shopping stalls selling souvenir and clothes, typical Thailand kind of clothes.Overall a good experience and will come back for more nice food.Had the wanton mee for 60 baht and 6 grilled pork sticks for only 100 baht.
MoreWe love the Malin Plaza Market. We had really good smoothies and Pad Thai, not nearly as busy and noisy as the Phuket weekend market. Good prices as well, 100 baht for Pad Thai, 40 baht for smoothies. Nickys bar is a nice spot to eat at the market very friendly staff and offers beer and cocktails. Diverse range of food, we even had a burger and chips when not in the mood for Thai food.🍔🍟🍜 Highly recommended!
