Malecón de Santo Domingo - Park and Garden in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic
Super dirty and full of people with mental health problems...I couldnt belive it myself....all the boardwalk is full of plastics and clothing along the malecon. BERY DIRTY PLACE. DO NOT VISOT
Its getting better, but they still have a lot to improve.
If you are a thalassophile (someone who love the sea, oceanand want peace, to feel free then I recommend you to go there . Its awesome !!!♡ A lot of fun down there
Very nice place to mingle with the locals, although sometimes one can encounter beggars which makes it a little be uncomfortable, people go with their cars and put music, very nice place.
A great place to ride, run or walk with breath taking views of the Caribbean Sea.
The view from the Caribbean Sea is breathtaking with the sunrise!

Just stunning. nice area to seat around and enjoy the view of the ocean..there are a lot of restaurants and casinos in the area....
Great place to watch the sea
I visited this place in June 7th 2022. I went there for a morning jog.I started where the malecón intersects with Lincoln Av and went all the way to the Colonial area. The place is beautiful, as you go running you can hear the waves and watch the ocean. The only thing I noticed is that in some areas there was a lot of trash. Some of it probably because of the river but also there were beer bottles in some benches.Anyway, is cool to visit and take a walk.
Awesome place just in from of the hotels
Dump so sad 😭!!!!
Beautiful and so peaceful. Really enjoyed it. Romantic
Great for running out rollerblading
I like it but only the problem l was find is the bad is good, ans the hot water not good at the shower.
Nice to see wholesome activity there instead.
Great place to go visit and you can walk to the lot of shops... gambling... everything you want!!!
A beautiful place you can go for free with your friends or family to watch the Sea. Just make sure the spot you choose has a Parking and more people surrounding you for safety measures. And get your Coconut water if you see a guy selling them. You can buy food in some places or bring your own.
Night life very lively. The Ocean breeze is awesome for the soul and the spirit.
Great Area, traffic is a little crazy (just like anywhere else in DR), but man, the drive/view is amazing.
Good for a long run or walk, although there are some areas where the pavement is slick and some areas that are not very well lit. Obviously, great for hanging out with family and friends. Plastics and paper litter seems to be part of the landscape, as it is on so many other parts of the island.
Nice but it was very quite....just one Restaurant was open. But nice for a walk
El Maleconcito is a magical place where there are food trucks with all kinds of food but the view of the ocean is what really does it for me!
As a tourist attraction it has great possibilities, but the garbage that is left lying around is an eyesore. Shame really as could be beautiful, however unadvisable aftet dark due to crime..
Food was ok, but there is room for improvement. However it is a nice place close to the ocean with a nice view.
Always friendly people, delicious food, and excellent music.
Beautiful views, many places to shop and eat or take a nice walk or jog
Currently, Santo Domingo’s seafront is a speedway for heavy truck traffic, noisy, and unsafe for pedestrians. Derelict buildings, unfinished high rises, poorly-lit areas and a sewage smell from the sea gives it an unsafe vibe. The sites of once-iconic Santo Domingo destinations, Restaurante Vesuvio, La Ceniza, Hotel Hispaniola, Teatro Agua y Luz, are now ruins of an ancient past when the district was a must-see tourist destination. Santo Domingo is now a city that turns its back to its coastline.
Beautiful area but too bad is destroyed with so much garbage around it
We just arrived today and they already have 2 strikes. First of all we paid more for the privilege luxury benefit which include "allegedly" a private check in and upon arrival they told us that due to Covid-19 the check in politics changed, so now they pack up everyone together. Second strike at the Thalassa restaurant I ordered for a picanha steak and they served a NY strip steak instad; the big big problem was they tried to convince me this was a picanha. I let you the pictures here to judge by yourself.
Good place to walk, bike, sk8. It would be beautiful if the oceanside werent covered with trash, some comes in on the tide and an unfortunate number of people just toss trash on the ground. A couple spots just reek of sewage. It could be super nice.
The Malecón of Santo Domingo is a long shore area along a principal highway and the Caribbean Sea. Most of its area are safe to walk or jog by, or cycle while doing exercises or just stop to have an amazing sunrise, day/afternoon or sunset. Pretty landscapes, nice view, easy access and parkings all the way.I love walking every morning about 4km long of the Malecón while enjoying the always stunning sunrise with the sea and waves.
Pretty nice view! Great for a walk, ride a bike or just sit and feel the smell of sea and sand.*If you go there, don’t throw away trash, please.
The place is ok, it needs some maintenace but at least view from there is great.
Very nice walking area
Beautiful promenade, with gorgeous sea views. 3 miles walking along this stretch, and I saw a lot of the key tourist attractions in the city, with no guide!
Beautiful ocean views !
Great for a long walk by the sea. Best at sunrise or sunset. The sidewalks are in good condition and there are plenty of places to seat and rest along the way. Bring your water though, as there are no street vendors or shops, other than at one end at plaza Juan Barón and near Montesinos. Sadly, water is contaminated (both from the nearby river as from raw sewage water dumped on the seaand the beaches are swamped with plastic.
Its great to be by the ocean in such a large city! The overwhelming noise and towering shadows of buildings are absent on a full 180 degrees of beautiful coastline when on the malecón. Theres a public gym area, many shops, places to sit, bike paths, and even spots from which to fish! Sometimes theres even a fair! And the city has been known to truck sand into the road to make a temporary artificial beach for pedestrian access only!
Because its a beautiful place with a great view, and you also can sea caribbean sea with a wonderful blue color
Crear place to hang out and watch the amazing view!
Lots of places to eat and be entertained. Spots to sit and relax and take cute pictures
The local nighttime hangout. Bring your own alchohol and have a good time near the beach. Food trucks are there with delicious frituras (fried foods). The party never ends here....
Is very relaxing you can do from outside ejercicio bike in the morning from happy hour at afternoon to party all night with restaurant and food truck outside very affordable I love it wedding pics is all depends on what station u stay from the k 1 to 13 this pic was in the morning my last day in DR just wanted to be chill I love it
This is a family place, you can enjoy all day long.
The worst city and the dirtiest I could visit during my travels even though I think there is worse. A great sadness to see that people do not respect anything, and kill earth.
Is a good truck park basically, theres usually police around so it should be safe. Is a nice place to sit and talk outdoors and grab a bite. The main issue are the bathrooms, there are some public stalls but they are not higienic at all.
The sidewalk is decent, but looking towards the water was disgusting trash everywhere. I saw human waste along the edges. I guess when you have something beautiful all the time its not seen and taken for granted. It would take just a small effort to make this place 4 or 5 stars.
The place is good for kids to ride bikes rollerblading skating and playing ball, it is not the most amazing park but it is good. At night its good for couples to go sit and have a quiet space, begets will pop up out of no where asking for money. Other than that its ok.
The nice Caribbean Sea breeze and the opportunity to walk and watch people and seagulls fishing, as well as taking pictures are some of the reasons why I love to walk around the Malecón in Santo Domingo!
