Restored, medieval castle on a prominent hilltop, housing collections of art & local history.
Super
All in French. Nothing in English or German, which is surprising in a place like this.
Exposition only in French; very bad service at the bar, no one showed up to take our order while we sat down for 20min. Definitely NOT for kids. The castle itself is nicely rebuild.
Amazing castle to visit. Very well reconstructed. Plenty of things to see and amazing view 360 degrees.
A place to visit. Very nice. Enjoy a refreshment in one of the tables outside under the sun. Great!
Each warm season an interesting exhibition on comics. Worth the castle, simple coffeeshop with terrace.
Great
Been to two exhibitions: Tintin and Asterix & Obelix. Both were fantastic! The latter was also free!
This beautifully castle is worth a visit but dont forget to reserve tickets online. This month the theme is a walk through the world of Asterix and Obelix.
Nice
Beautifully rebuild castle.
Amazing place and we loved the Asterix exhibition.
Very nice, loved the Asterix&Obelix expo and the shop :)
Amazing! Well maintained.
Free visit, amazing surroundings
Wonderful , spectacular.
Restored, rather rebuilt, with public money, no expense saved. The location is historic.
Well staged athmophere for the ones seeking to enjoy a glimpse in the medieval times.
Very nice and interesting!
Amazing castle!!! Very positively surprised even though the activities inside the castle have been frozen this year due to the pandemic, we nevertheless enjoyed the emptiness of the castle to visit it quietly with the kids and enjoying the beautiful view. I recommend it !
Great restored castle. Great view from the tower !
Very beautifull castle. Due to Covid free access during summer 2020.
Cool nature and environment.
Many comics expos. Hergé & Tintín during my last visit
Beautiful scene, nice service specially treasure finding tour. Recommended
Nice small castle. Good rise for trekkers and bikers.
Nice renovated castle with expositions. The walk across the walls offers nice views.
It is not that usual to visit a so well restored castle of middle-age. It was exceptionally good for us as the place was hosting a temporary exhibit of Hergé with lots of draft pages of Tintin, which were worth discovering.I would likely not have ranked the location this high without the exhibit but there are other shows over the year, which may animate the castle with other content. The visit shows how the ruins have been overhauled using old technics of construction.
Loved the castle and the George Remis exposition (a.k.a. Hergé, the father of Tintin and snowy). The entrance cost 7 Euros but in my opinion is worth it.The castle itself is very well restored and there are plenty of paths nearby for a little walk. I liked the place.
Great place for a festival for artist and authors. Very tranquil and full of rich history
Beautiful medieval castle, completely restaurated in a nice scenery. Also with a nice small cafe to have a drink or a small bite. Definitely worthwhile a visit.
Amazing place to visit.
Beautiful, Small but beautiful. Good renovation.
Nice place but too many kids.
Good view from the top. Ticket 3.5euros for students.
Receptionist was welcoming and the castle is beautiful on the outside. However, (and here I totally agree with what a previous reviewer has writtenonce inside there is not much to admire apart from the "Tintin Journal" exhibition in practically every room. I just dont understand the relevance it has with the castle apart from a beautiful setting for an exhibition.Personally I would have really appreciated more information on the castles history and its reconstruction work supported by photos, documents and models. All in all I was somewhat disappointed but on the positive side I am delighted that I had not driven too far to get there.
The castle is awesome but the exhibition in it is totally unrelated to the castle and is not interesting if youre there for the castle.Great parking spot and nice walking paths around it.Entry is €5
A very nice, well restored middle age small castle
Really nice. The cantine could be better, but the castle is wonderful!
😋 Cool !
Beautiful but it was closed when we got there.Opening hours are incorrect.
Its a fraud ! Castle reconstructed ! Shame on those who did this to beautiful ruins.
Awesome views but be aware they close up very puntually
Beautifully restored castle. Currently an amazing collection of cartoon and comic art from the last century.
Charming castle with very well prepared expositions.
This castle is bit hidden from main roads , but provide great both inside and outside views.
Beautiful castle at the top of Mandèren, looking over the village. Several towers and architecture to admire along with several fall activities for family and children. Close to Schengen area where Luxembourg, France and Germany all meet.
Really great place. Take a local guide for explications. Very interesting is the reseach work they did for the restauration of the castle.
One of the most favorite castle. Saw the photo of World War 2 in there, not sure if its a temporary exhibition. The whole castle becomes more special with those photos added on. Love it deep.
Pleasant experience, staff helpful and greatly displayed history. One for the books
