MoreA good place to walk around and discovering Philippines natural forest with its flora and fauna. Facilities thats available along the walk is a bit run down or abandoned, it would be nice to revive them so as visitors can use the hardscape which were already there. Improvement on the interpretation to the uniqueness of the area would be an added knowledge for visitors. Overall I enjoyed my visit to the garden.
Moregood place for hiking.fresh air ,cold.
You can trek for hours to get to the peak and can stay there for the night. The place is maintained so that visitors will not be able to destroy the forest.
MoreForest is still thick however the road is arrow and only a few lights at night. Good for camping.
MoreWe were able to reach the flatrocks and the mud spring. It was a good hike. Easy and safe trail even to kids.
MoreA wonderful place to relax and unite with nature. Amazing Mountain to hike or trekking. I love this place
MorePlace is cool and quiet.
Nice place for hiking and camping. Cool and fresh air.
Mt. Makiling is excellent. The people at MCME are friendly as well as the people in the mountain. The fees are not expensive. The cheapest so far. Great.
MoreWent here to see the actual bloom of Rafflesia. It was a very nice experience. Everyone was nice and there is a lot of things to see
MoreLove hiking and trekking while enjoying nature. Many beautiful plants..
This place should be protected ny the government. This is one of the treasure of the country. More trees, breeds of animals and insects and most specialy plants that gives us life. If you visit the Makiling forest, you will be relaxed, you will forget your problems, you will revitalize and your soul will be replenished. Go come visit the Makiling Forest and experience it on your own.
MoreA place of coolness and preservation of wonderful environment where all creatures living there enjoyed much.
MoreWe stayed here for our rescue training. Most of the facilities are not well maintained. So if you want comfort its not the right place. But for rescue training purposes its quite good and spacious.
MoreView plus breeze.. more pleassseeee.plus fresh buko to beat the heat
Well-preserved forest, challenging hike/climb, and a great place to commune with nature.
MoreGood place for a day hike. Close to Manila and can easily approach by Bus and Jeepny
MoreOne of the mysterious rainforest in the Philippines. There are many beliefs in this forest but one thing Im sure of it is one of the beautiful forest. It is also known as Maria Makiling named after the fairy which is said to be the generous and beautiful guardian of this forest. Generous because she offers refuge to tired hunters and helps collects firewood on old ladies where she slips gold nuggets sometimes. Theres a lot of stories about her which is passed down from generation to generation. She has a rich vegetation even she has a lot of visitors mainly mountaineers, trail runners, and pilgrimers. She is already considered as protected area so when going there you need to register on the camp at her feet and take a guide with you for your safety as well as for her conservation. Went here for the birthday climb of my sister and brother in law which they considered as one of the memorable experience due to its beauty as well difficulty. The trail to its peak is not suggested for beginners since it has technical parts like some small rappelling and a long walk. Always observe the Leave No Trace discipline for its conservation when you visit her.
MoreHiking here is easy because of paved roads and moderate slope, gradually getting steeper as you move closer towards the summit. For those living in the concrete jungle of Manila, this is a great way to escape to the countryside and surround yourself with 100-year old trees and lush foliage. Travel is just an hour if you leave early say 4 or 5am. There are trails into the forest and you may explore. At Station 7 there are small stores with al fresco seating for a quick rest and refreshments like buko juice, boiled bananas, hot mami noodles, and even halo-halo.
MoreStill as beautiful as it was 25 yrs ago. There are still trash lying around due to irresponsible hikers and would be great if they had signs to prevent these folks from throwing their trash around.
MoreMost accesible Major Hike within my side of Metro Manila. Lush rainforests, challenging trails, diverse flora and fauna. Everything an outdoorsman would want in a weekend hike.
MoreBeen there and I got several guides with me who are students from the university, they really know all about the forest, I was impressed, they showed me a tree the tears of the lizard, flowers that looked like if they where old and crumbled also the bat flower, candle flowers.. it was amazing. For all in the neighbourhood, go there and take the tour.
MoreRich, thick forest, trail friendly but watch out for those teeny weeny creatures known as "limatik" for they suck blood & more likely to encounter them when it rains
MoreVery quiet place and nice to bring kids and fmily
Cool and relaxing place. Love the outdoors.
Nice park
Very refreshing and relaxing. Good getaway for the family and a great venue for trainings and conferences. Food is excellent. ☺️
MoreAmazing
They made hiking easier with their cemented road. Its also good that they close the trail to Peak 2 from time to time to allow it to recover.
MoreOk. Curiosity satisfied about UP Los Baños and the Philippine High School for the Arts at the Mt. Makiling.
MoreLove this sanctuary! Accessible yet still clean and quiet. Almost a ritual for me to visit it every time I am in Manila.Concrete roads have been built now for most sections of the path up the mountain. Worried that eventually the forest will be badly polluted with even more jeepneys and motorbikes plying between the foot and Agila Base up the mountain.Pray that there will be control to limit the number of vehicles moving up and down the mountain. Preserve this precious greenery on the map of Philippines please.
MoreWe stayed over here for a camping class. Place is really nice and peaceful, and it gets cold at night to come prepared.
More“We do not own the Earth, we merely borrowed it fromOur children” - Indian ChiefThe mountain must be protected as it gives us the breath of life. It stands as the Carbon sink. It sequesters Carbon dioxide and prevents global warming. In addition it is home to species of plants and animals. It is our nation’s duty to keep development sustainable.
More5 star : really good place to relaxImprovements needed : the paved road is good for road bike but take caution going down because of leaves and other dirt on the side of the road. Regular and frequent cleaning would help.
MoreCmon people, let us preserve whats left of our nature! Come to the EcoTrail of the Botanical Garden to get that mini-hiking experience.
MoreThis is the place where you can drive on near the metro. If you are looking a place where you can experience the wonders of nature, Mt. Makiling is the best place you can go on. You can also camp here at the BSP Jamboree site. The BSP campsite is also the Asia Pacific Region center for advance training campsite for all adult leaders in Boy Scouting.
MoreI love nature and I think anyone that doesnt love nature will learn and appreciate it once they go in Mt Makiling. From Station 1 up to Station 9 you would be able to trek the road, however stations 10 onward will make most of your trekking shoe because of all the leeches and mud. Nevertheless, Mt Makiling is a place to be if you wanna get near nature.
MoreDid a quick traverse from Batangas to Laguna (UPLB). Great for newbie mountaineers.
MoreA nice muddy hike, often with leeches. The first half is long and busy. The road is being paved. I enjoy the second half much more. The peak does not have much of a view. Still worth it for those who love the outdoors
MoreNice fresh air. Lots of trees and wildlife!
