Makani in Aswan

The grilled chicken, grilled veggies and rice with spices were delicious. The juicy Peach cocktail that I had was sweet and refreshing. My hubby had Mojitos Mint and was nice and refreshing too. Have outdoor and indoor seatings. Nice restaurant.

In case anyone is thinking about having some wedges potatoes.

Chicken and juices were delicious, reasonably priced. Went a couple times. The service is good, ambience is relaxed and the place is modern. There was also a nice terrace, but stayed inside with the A/C. Do go if you need to relax for a while

Come here for the shakes. In the heat of summer in Aswan, it is a lifeline! The food are ok too, generic grilled chicken are dependable. The restaurant are spacious and clean and well taken care of. Overall a comfortable place for respite from the heat and commotion that is Aswan city.

Cash only. They dont serve alcohol. We were looking for a quick bite near our hotel late in the day. Unfortunately the menu primarily consisted of western food like burgers/sandwich and chicken. They didnt have anything on the menu that was lamb or something thats authentic and local (I would have loved to try camel meat). So I just ordered chicken wings. It was well seasoned and tender and the portion was huge. But at the end of the day... Its just a chicken. There were many stray cats that kept jumping on the table to grab chicken. If you are a tourist, this is your spot. If you are a seasoned foodie tourist, this is NOT your spot.

We struggled to find decent food in Egypt so was great to find Makani. Great flavours good portions and friendly staff.

It was open during ramadan. Air condition and clean, with reasonable food prices for western type food. Their milkshakes looked pretty good, even though I did not try them.

We only went here for coffee a couple of times but it is a great place. Friendly service, spotlessly clean, extensive coffee menu and great coffee!Can recommend the coffee frappe. The food menu looked great and its a shame we didnt get to try it.

There is nothing special about this place. Grilled chicken was bland and garlic bread was meh. I’m failing to see why this place is so highly rated. Any below average bbq place in the US is better than this.

Shawarma and date juice were very good! A spacious place with a terrace with a good river view. The prices were reasonable

We tried the Makani on the other side and we got familiar with the name and the taste. Now when we think about aswan we think of Makani. Clearly our favourite.P.s. there is a 3 legend white friendly dog that sits by the palm 🌴 tree. We went to the shops and brought some tuna (as they didnt have any dog foodand back to Makani.

We had great food and service at the African Queen downstairs from the Makani cafe. We enjoyed their good quality food that is reasonable priced in a clean and pleasant environment.

A quite and beautiful place, we ate outside it was so cold but they jave a place warm inside, they dont serve any kind of macaroni only rice, sandwiches price is great compared to the size and taste, chicken was good, i recommends it

This is a scam restaurant. On Jan 11 we go to this restaurant at 1130 pm. We order food and it arrives on time and is of decent quality and the total bill is of $22.68. I leave my credit card to be used to pay for the meal. They come 10mins later claiming that my card doesnt work and that I need to pay by cash, which I agree too. Later, a few hours later I find that they have cheated by credit card with a fake $15.64 transaction for roomates by Room!, a fake app. Please do not, go to this place. While the food might be decent, they are very unethical.

We didnt even get to taste the food. We sat there for 10 minutes without being offered a menu. When we finally asked for one and selected our orders, we sat there for 50 minutes waiting for our orders - and the place was not even half full!We asked multiple times when the orders will arrive and we got no clear answer.. just the "we are working on them". The staff was not welcoming at all.When we finally decided to leave after more than an hour, they apologized for the late food and they let us go. I wouldnt go there if I am hungry.

Waited 40 minutes for a sandwich and some wedges potatoes only to receive the potatoes cold. Thats not a service i would tip for, but it was added by default in the final price, 14%.Not going to come again and thats sad, because I really wanted to try more of their food, since they have such a high rating here.

Delicious food, great service, reasonable prices.My favorite main dish was the chicken thighs with medium spice level. Chicken wings were also pretty good.The entrance to the dining area is from some stairs to the right of the upstairs shop. I think the upstairs area is for take away service, but it was closed when we ate here.

Had a delicious coffee, first place to provide Americano, little milk no sugar plus a slice of cheesecake.... had highly recommended

They deserve these 5 stars as both the food and the service were outstanding.The terrace was nice.Meat and vegetables were delicious, and so was the hummous.Totally recommended for meat lovers.

Best chicken in Aswan. Prices are above rest of restaurants but the quality is the best. Steak burgers, wraps, butterflied breasts and liver are very delicious. The side dishes are top notch: garlic bread, wedge potatoes and hummus. You can get a table with nearly a Nile view, but view can be enhanched if they trimmed the trees. One of my favorites in Aswan.

Good food for fair prices. Clean! The most important thing and rare to find in Egypt. Nile view is possible, varied menu. Recommend it.

Bad experienceNo outdoor AC, the weather was very hot.Food is not cooked well, specially Lazania.Burger was very bad.I recieve a receipt corrected in a handwritten, not showing the price for each dish.High price compared to the quality and taste of food.There are no variety of dishes.NOT WORTHY TO VISIT AGAIN

Cool to go drinks that are very nice, full of varieties and options, and with a good value for money. The peanut banana shake was nice, also the dates shakes.

Friendly staff, very delicious food, very good prices. Some reviewers had issues with order times, but our meal (full chicken with 20 wingsdid not take very long, around 40 minutes. I think this is reasonable considering they prepare everything fresh. Highly recommended!!!

Makani is a restaurant with outdoor dining place has a nice veiw to river nile.Food is nice staff are very freindly...The orders little bit late do not go if youre in hurry😊

We came here twice during our time in Aswan. The first time we had the butterfly steak wrap and a chicken burger. It was good.The second time we were headed to El Masry but the owner was out for prayers. So we came here. At first we were told there wasnt a cook and ended up ordering 2 pies. But then, the cook walked in and the owner/manager took back our untouched pies.We had a half chicken with BBQ sauce along with the hummus and garlic bread sides. Their mixed salad is good too.Above all, this place was open during Ramadan! Makani is certainly a good place for food and drink in Aswan.

One of the very very few restaurants still open for lunch during Ramadan! Main course ranging from 40LE to 100+. Good meats and wraps.
