Main Street Cafe in Antigonish

Located just inside the lobby of the Maritime Inn. Service is fast and the staff are friendly. Its a decent atmosphere. Food was good.

Its been awhile since I ordered from here. Usually get this ginger beef stir fry. But the portion size is half of what it use to be! Almost $20 for this. Pretty disappointing for a main dinner.

We stopped here for breakfast while driving on the Cabot Trail. The blueberry pancakes were very good, as was the Eggs Benedict’s with avocado. The service was excellent and we loved eating out on the lively deck!

Food just okay , bathroom disgusting had years worth of grime and dust , if we had seen this before ordering our food would have walked out. Makes you wonder how if the kitchen has any health standards in place. Gross !

Delicious food! We had burgers, fish and chips, soups and salad. All of the food was great. Excellent service. Highly recommend this café for lunch.

Mum has allergies, so we had to improvise and put together a meal that would be suitable. Waitress really didn’t seem terribly impressed or empathetic. Menu said tomato or potato as a side. Given we ordered a wrap without the wrap, eggs, and mayo, I asked for both the tomato and potato as a substitute. Waitress still charged us for both. Honestly? We just wanted to salvage a breakfast meal with a menu that had things my mum was allergic to in every item.

Im from the prairies, so locals may have different opinions, but...I got a salad with shrimp. Best shrimp I have ever had in my life. Amazing.

It was very busy. My steak was charred. Our waitress never refilled our water nor did she ask us how our meal was. Very disappointed.

Wide array of menu options, good portions and very tasty. My companion found her vegetables overly greasy but my salmon salad was amazong as was a colleagues lobster mac n cheese.

Me and my friend just ordered from this cafe. It was about an hour wait time and very expensive. Once our food was delivered we found out the steak sandwich was not actually a sandwich, in fact it was just a piece of thin steak served on a soggy piece of bread. All of the Fries were very soggy and dripping in water.Not eating here every again.

Food was good, but a bit cold coming out and the server was friendly and checked in regularly with us.

Had the ginger fried beef served with rice, veggies, beef and sauce. Beef was deepfried in the same oil as their french fries and had no ginger flavor. The sauce was store brand honey garlic you would serve on chicken wings. Edible but a very disappointing attempt.

Will never stop here again. The food looks good on the pictures but it was really bad. Bread was so hard you couldnt take a bite in it. The chicken breast didnt not taste like chicken. The quiche was so soft, you wouldnt need teeth to eat it.We took a few bites, paid and left.

Food was terrible and we had breakfast. How an you ruin breakfast? The wait staff were great and appoligic for the 45 minutes it took our food to arrive.

First of all, staff was very friendly and gave some very honest recommendations.As a larger group, we ordered a variety of dishes. Burger was decent. Pasta dishes weren’t particularly amazing but they were very generous with the quantity of seafood.There was a strong recommendation for the bbq wrap and it was definitely the best choice.

Walked in and instantly you could tell it was extremely disorganized. Firstly they showed us to a table which was very big and way too big for 2. Constantly ignored by the waitress and never checked in on us once. Had go get up and place our order because they didnt come and take our order. We waited about 45 minutes and no food showed up and nobody checked in on us. We stood up and asked about the wait. We found out our order was not placed. We finally placed our order and the food finally came after an hour of waiting. Personally, my favourite breakfast ever is eggs benedict, which is what i ordered. When it was served to me, I couldnt be more upset what was served to me. Small portion of food, and the hollandaise sauce had really no flavour to it. Also had to ask for sugar and cream for my coffee constantly considering they didnt bring it when I asked. Overall probably the worse breakfast experience in my life.

Patio is the bomb, would eat here everyday if I could! Food was spectacular. Had the Singapore sling to drink, haddock was so good large piece, chicken sandwich flavor 100%. Creme Brulet to end I all off with a cup of coffee. Would definitely recommend

After seeing lots of recommendations to try this place we decided to give it a go! I ordered the black bean and corn burger with a garden salad and it was DELICIOUS! They had lots of other vegetarian/vegan options which was very exciting! Soooo glad we decided to stop by, can’t way to eat here again sometime soon!!

Had the Lobster Macn Cheese. It was pretty good although the lobster didnt taste fresh. The prices are quite high for the locals. Good customer service and elegant design.

DELICIOUS food!!! Had the scallop fettuccine...amazing!! Seafood platter and quesadilla was good too. Lemon curd cheesecake was TO DIE FOR!! Will be back!

Wonderful, wonderful evening here on my first day in Antigonish. The food was lovely, very good wine list and the gentleman server was the absolute best, really quite extraordinary. Thank you so much!

New menu but I can honestly say I didnt think I would like shepherds pie with zucchini but it was cut up and pretty good.

We stopped in on a whim and were not disappointed. The food came out surprisingly quick and was delicious (I had the Chicken and Mushroom Penne, he had the Philly Cheesesteak with sweet potato fries). We finished the meal with dessert (I had the creme brulée - it was candy cane and quite tasty).Our server, Artem, was absolutely fantastic! He was extremely polite, very friendly and made our experience that much better!We will definitely be back!

We stopped in here after other plans fell through and I was never so happy about plans not working out.The server (Artemwas very polite, helpful and attentive. He made us feel very welcome and important to him.The menu was just the right amount of options. Our order came out fast and was fresh. We had the Penne and the Philly Cheese steak, highly recommended. I look forward to returning next time I am in Antigonish.

The $29 steak on the menu was probably the worst steak I have ever eaten. In fact I could only eat half of it. My workmate also made the mistake of ordering the steak. He agreed it was terrible. Tough and no flavor. I ate breakfast here and that was quite good.

Pineapple curry chicken pizza, crab cakes and spinach salad were all excellent. Kids menu has lots of options (all around $9). Fast service, for a nice restaurant on a busy summer day :)

Had a cranberry brie to start and a fishermans platter for the main dish. Both were delicious. Janet was our waitress and she was great and may i add, funny.

I posted a similar review for the hotel itself and the staff has already replied saying that they are updating the signage, so response from the management is fantastic, and for that I am raising my rating for the cafe to a 5. Stopped in here for brunch on our way back to Halifax and really enjoyed the meal and service. The Eggs Benedict was delicious, and the entire hotel was beautiful and charming. Washrooms for the restaurant were in the back of the hotel and the women’s washroom is buried the furthest back. There were signs pointing to the gentlemen’s washroom but not one sign for the women’s, even on the door itself, so you had to guess which one you were supposed to go in. Staff and service was great all around.

Great food and waitresses are awesome. They go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable.

Always a pleasant experience eating here. Generally go in for weekend breakfast or Brunch.Bottomless coffee or tea included with your meal!A good choice on the menu from Eggs Benny to omlettes, to egg bakes.The home fries here are made from scratch and to die for!!

I dont know why it took me so long to give this place a try. The dining area was clean and bright, food was top notch, and the service was friendly and lightening fast despite the lunch rush. Food is a bit on the pricier side, but youre paying for a quality dining experience.

we loved this place so much we ate lunch and dinner there today. great friendly, accomodating staff and delicious food. extensive menu. great wine list. something for everyone. loved it,, will be back soon.

I had pina colada creme brulee. It was ok but the consistency was off. It was almost like it was curdled. And the sugar crisp on top was way too thick. I chipped a tooth eating eat. The flavor was good though.
