It is a beautiful place and it is wonderful and amazing place to visit in pokhara. There is a big cave filled with amazing things you must go out there check it.have a wonderful day.
If you visit Pokhara - Lakeside, Davis Falls and Mahendra Cave are the most popular tourist destinations. This is a small tiny cave located in the north western part of Pokhara. If you love adventure you will enjoy this cave. It is about about 100m in length. On the first left there is a small path you can take to climb out of a narrow exit climb. If you are more adventorous, please visit BAT CAVE - CHAMERI GUFA (चमेरो गुफा), further 500m ahead of MAHENDRA CAVE.
It feels like a man made tunnel with lots of lights, entry fee is 80 rupees for Indians and 150 ( not surefor foreigners.there is another cave know as bat cave , its pretty good compare to mahendra cave.
Mahendra cave is beautiful place. Please visit once a time
One of the best place to visit in pokhara, Nepal.
An ancient cave worth visiting.Be careful while in the cave because the walking surface is odd and covered with moisture and water 💦 which makes the walkway slippery.
Its a good experience to explore the cave and inside. You have to pay for ticket in the entrance. Inside the cave there are strange stones and scluptures. At the end of the cave there is a priest and temple. In another end there is an passage to outside. But its very small and difficult to climb the passage to get outside but people try and come out of this passage.
Small point, not must visit.. instead you can plan for sports and rides
Everything is good about this place but the way parking facility has been managed is 3rd class. Man from municipality is very rude and manerless. He said if you want parking ticket its rs 30/hr and if you dont want ticket its rs 20/hr. Anyone going there, be careful with such frauds!!
Nice place but ticket cost was above expectationsNepal government made it for revenue collectionIf you have enough time to chill go there other wise not so great View to expand money and time
Mahendra cave is a an easy cave to walk through. Towards the end of the cave, there is a priest who chants some mantras for the well being of you and your family. Its a fun cave though as its not crowded and you can easily do stuff. Anyone can go in this cave. Mahendra cave and bat cave are at a distance of around 500m. So, you can plan accordingly
Nature created these caves . Discovered by a shepherd long ago.
Beward of the slippery stairs down there, a good place though.
Nice experience with a small siddhivinayak natural stone statue inside
Its a okay place. Maybe the kids will enjoy it better than an adult. If you are looking for a cave adventure, this place has to offer little, except for the narrow, narrow exit path. Just like a number of advertised tourist spots in Pokhara, it doesnt feel that great.
A cave within the city limits.Takes about 20 mins in total to explore
Historical places and natural now became popular internal and foreign tourist attaraction. Now a days commercially developing with in short period it would developed ....
One of the tourist attraction point in Pokhara. It is situated near Chamero cave. Nepali tourist has to pay Rs. 50 to enter the cave.It has both entry and exit point. It is not easy to get out of exit point, so be careful while going towards exit.
An easy to go down cave with a temple at the bottom. The ticket price is NPR 80 per person (for foreigners). If you are time pressed you can give it a miss. For the tourists who doesnt mind eating on the road side place this could be your refreshment or lunch stop as well.
Entry fee is required.Parking fee is required.Garden + Cave. The temperature inside the cave is cool.Water droplets drop from the top.Not much deep, 1/2 mins walk.Small temple is located at the end.
Its really nice place
It was a nice experience and the cave was well maintained, provided lights within. Definitely have a lot of area for improvement. The exterior part of the place was well maintained as well. The flowers added a beautiful touch to the cave. Overall, it was good.

Small cave. Not very interesting. The Bat cave was cool, full of bats!
Wow ... Little bit of adventurous time there . Amazing art of nature 😍. Come here once.
In this cave you can see a statue of Ganesh. distance is short and ticket price is high.
You must visit this place. If you have never been inside a cave, you can have that experience at this place. When you enter the cave, you will feel you have entered a different realm. The inside of the cave is lit but is still darker than outside, which adds to the excitement. The cave is made of natural rocks and stones. It is highly recommended that you visit this place.
Mahendra Cave gets its name from former King, Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. This cave is a very famous tourist destination in Pokhara. The insides of the cave is limestone and thats why the path is also slippery. There is also a small statue of a Hindu God Lord Shiva. There is also a beautiful park in the premises.
I like it coz. This is the first time I went into this cave. We were there with our friends. Local people says that this cave was built from lavas. There is an exit from the left side inside the cave which is very dark, we use our mobile led to came out. There is a elephant statue, people worship as a lord Ganesha. After Mahendra Cave, we went to Bat Cave & science park.
The place is too good and we enjoyed a lot it take 30 rupee in Nepal currency and there is huze place the cave feels good from Inside we enjoy lot and must go there . There is nothing to eat outside there are many canteen and the atmosphere is too good and the service is too good special the nepali people.
This is a nice cave, not very deep. There is water drops that trickle from the cave top. There are couple of small hindu idols, there is enough lighting inside the caves. The entire cave can be completed in 15-20 minutes
Such an adventurous and thrilling place for exploring in Kathmandus central area, I suggests you to visit this place with some precautions. Always carry a powerful light with you. The caves are extremely narrow and dark in some places, irregular stone laiden, slippery walk way. Sometimes you have to negotiate through very narrow spaces and at times need to climb through darkness. Children if they are not terrified, then surely enjoy and even guide you. Those who are Obese and Pot bellied, please burn some fat to loose few kilos, else you will be trapped inside the cave.I dont want to frighten you, but it is advisable to get the help of a trained Guide which is available on paying cash.Im posting some photos which are aided with flash, as otherwise nothing will be visible in the dark ambience.
As this place is one of the tourist spot of Pokhara as you have pay an entry fee Rs 30 for cave, Inside the cave there is temple and this place is also surrounded by big garden where you can have a small walking.
Located at foot of the hill it has a wide entrance for going inside and after few meter we can see two path. One is going more inside where there has been established a statue of god ganesh. The cave is wide and have enough height for people visiting there. Another route is for exist which is little small path which is considered that if peole want sin free or people with free of sin can easily pass the exit way and come out of cave. So many people can be seen comming out of with though it may be little hard for some people. The sourrounding place with beautiful garden is just lovely.😍😃
This cave is so mujhe beautiful and tourist friendly, that it houses a public toilet, so nicely made steps and well maintained that even a senior citizen can gp inside cave, worship God and come back safely.I am giving five star as its better than Devis Falls!
Mahendra Cave is about 100 mtr long cave, broad enough with good visibility due to lights and ventilation throughout. Its a nice place to visit. Inside of the cave is cold and somewhere dripping of water can be seen, thus the limestone structure is found being created naturally on the cave roof. The outside of the cave is surrounded by garden. Nice place for children also.
Mahendra cave-its a cave which leads to the underground temple and the exit is little bit on smaller side. Overall good place to visit and there is garden nearby so you can spent your time with your friends and families.Recommended
If u r for short time in pokhra dont add this in ur bucket.the cave is so short & there is nothing much for view inside.there is a park at the interance but it is just ok.whole the cave is well lit.
Mahendra Cave is the most popular place in Pokhara located in the heart of the city. This is the perfect location for a relaxing holiday or a relaxing getaway where you can visit for fun and experience the best of exploring new things under land structure and stones inside cave. Diamond like shines and temperature inside the cave is presence of humidity and sweat a lot. You have to visit with tourch light or mobile lights inside it otherwise you can see a things. Thanks for the visit and hope.
Big Shady and dark place to survive low oxygen movie but erosional effect of them very slippery in the Tunnel sorry in the cave good place to visit for once and nice Garden outside of the cave water flow from the cave was very option one could see a nice waterfall in but still in the under construction nice place
The carvings before entering the cave are gorgeous. There is a Hindu temple within the cave and many rock cairns along the walk through the cave. It is interesting to go and have a look at, but not something Id rush back to again.
