Maharaja Chhatrasal Museum - Museum in Damoh, India
Lovelyโคโค
This museum, located near Dhubela, is one of the prime locations in the kingdom of Chhatrasal. It has many things related to the king like his clothes, cutlery, wagon, etc all still intact. Although this place doesnt seem to be highlighted properly as this is not maintained regularly by the state government. But a must visit place when you are exploring Bundelkhand.
I visited on public holiday by default ๐๐
Very nice and calm place.
In the absence of maintenance this place has ruined.ticket windows person taking the personal information while selling the ticket,so many rooms are closed for repairing since a long time, no facilities for tourists.
Good experience from here I know about some old coins of India and know about Maharaja Chhatrasals clothes.

Maharaja Chhatrasal (4 May 1649 โ 20 December 1731was a great warrior of the Middle Ages of India, who defeated the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb in the war and established his kingdom in Bundelkhand and got the title of Maharaja. He was a great heroic, organiser, efficient and majestic king. His life turned out to be a struggle against the power of the Mughals and to establish the independence of Bundelkhand. He struggled with the attacks till the end of his life.

Set within the Dhubela Talab (Pond), a large water reservoir to serve the daily needs of people living in the fort, still exists. The narrow winding road going through The Dhubela Resort leads to a more open parking lot. And there is this Museum set amidst the lush green lawns sprawling all around. Good Museum. Good collection and well maintained. Staffs are well associative.
This is barely 50-60 Kms from the world heritage monuments of Khajuraho. I was amazed to see the vast heritage this museum and the surrounding places hid. The artifacts ranged from sculptures from 10th century to paintings and dresses as recent as 18th century and everything in between. Entry charge is 10 Rs per person and additional ticket worth 50 Rs need to be bought for photography The museum is a very excellent place that displays a great variety of collectibles. The Amusement gallery that contains a collection of mirrors is an unique speciality of this museum. The museum houses a wide range of sculptures of the Shakti cult. It also displays garments, weapons and paintings of the Bundela rulers.
This is barely 50-60 Kms from the world heritage monuments of Khajuraho yet it is so underappreciated that I didnt get to hear about this while living just a few Kms from it for 6 months.Anyways when I got here, (Connectivity is very poor, youll have to rely on own car or hired taxiI was amazed to see the vast heritage this museum and the surrounding places hid. The artifacts ranged from sculptures from 10th century to paintings and dresses as recent as 18th century and everything in between. Entry charge is 20 Rs per person and additional ticket worth 50 Rs need to be bought for photographyJust besides the museum is Mastani Mahal, in shambles due to negligence it faced for years, with people scribbling anything and everything on the walls. The monuments for Maharaj Chhatrasal and his wife are nearby too as are plenty of other historically significant places but all unmaintained and in bad state, with people using them for loitering and as their personal drinking dens. The whole region didnt even boast of a single decent restaurant. The place has lots of potential, but sadly as of now, it hasnt been tapped into at all.
Maharaja Chhatrasal musieum dhoobela. Here you can see sculpture and ancient monuments. Lots of old weapons are here like gun , bhala, nife ,top ets. Also you can see the glasses in which you can see yourself images in big, small , slim and so on .Its good place to visit.
The biggest museum of Madhya Pradesh State. The museum is a very excellent place that displays a great variety of collectibles. The Amusement gallery that contains a collection of mirrors is an unique speciality of this museum. A lot of statues related to ancient times, as old as 02 century to the late 16th century can be seen here. The premises is clean and well maintained. Another attraction of the place is Mastani Mahal, the palace of Mastani, the dancer and beloved of Peshwa Bajirao. Overall, the place is very nice and a must see venue.
This place is on NH75. Very near to place called Nowgow in Chatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh. If you love history, you will love this place. Many old statues from 16th century. This place is closed on all public holidays and Monday.
