Magura Sculpture Camp - Museum in Buzau, Romania
Nice beautiful place in the nature with sculptures made in the 70s by romanian artist.
Interesting but you do need energy and imagination to understand these statues and also see all of them
Different sculptures in the field. They are very interesting and the surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous. There is a monastery, you can go in to visit. The way out is through the forest, it is very very beautiful.
Cool.
Ok
Shoud be seen at least once 👍
Ok
Super.
Really loved the place
Nice place but it is necessary to clean this place from waste and cut grass during period when it is.
Nice, i saw some baby deers jumping around in the 2nd camp that is in the forest. There are 3 Sculpture site (2 by the road, 1 deep in the forest)
Beautiful and quiet
I wasnt very impressed but maybe I am not the best to judge.
Ok
art and nature...what else can u wish for?
One of the last view from the past ! for sure, you want to spent several hours onto these hills. Starting with 1970, for a period of 4-5 years, these place had become ROMANIA most uniquid exterior art galley, housing stone sculptures from a series of new and established Romanian sculptors. Each piece is a wonder by choice, but all together, exposed into the pasture of Magura hills, the view is fantastic. do not miss this opportunity, as for each season the sculptures will change their look, and each time the feeling is different !
Magnific
👍
Green stones silence
Great place to visit and get a little bit of artistic experience of 1970s.
Really time traveling place!
A very special experience that helps you connect masterpieces, your self and the world we live in. It is a perfect way to spend some time walking around and admiring the beautiful work. Meaning exists and the fact that these works of art are out in the elements make you feel like time affects them also as it affects you. The cool thing is that it was a recurring thing for sculptors to participate a couple years in a row in defining and creating such works of art that are in essence in an outside gallery far off from the big cities. This level of high art and seclusion provide the a unique experience of having the place to yourself and getting to enjoy the view. One cool sculpture is the 2 pieces the dude that looks like a saint, Constantin Brâncoveanu and his 4 kids, he was put in a situation where he needed to renounce his faith and he refused having each child killed one at a time until he also got executed by the Ottomans. A friend of mine suggested that one of the sculputres is about platos cave as one dude was staring back. Long story short go and explore it is a good mental excercise and a stimulating artistic experience outdoors in nature.
Amazing place, beautiful statues...
A quiet place in the middle of the forest with interesting sculptures created in the 70s.The parking spots are very few in front of the nearby monastery and there is no info regarding the sculptures (name, author).
Very old sculptures
Too bad that not all the places are kept clean.
Nice place. I recomand! But be aware of the wasps. Not a good place to make a pick-nick.
Beautiful place to go if you want quiet and a clean air!
I did not understand a thing but it felt like I was in a special place. I would have liked if the names of the statues were on the statues themselves and not on a separate sign.
Nice place to chill. Pretty interesting history also

Nice place to visit if youre travelling in this area. All sculptures are scattered in a large open hill. Nearby there is a monastery for those who like this kind of attraction. Not so many places to park the car though.
Did not expect it to have that many items and cover such a large area. What you can see from the road is just 5 percent of all the sculptures. Easy access and closeness to the monastery makes it a very important tourist attraction.
Very interesting sculpture park hidden in the forest. Reminds me like Easter Island - Rapa nui :)
Beauty created 50 years ago plus garbage all over created very recently...
Nice scenery.
You should not pass by. Visit it! You will find art and nature and so much calm.
Great place to visit for photography lovers. Very quiet and peaceful, located in a forest up in the mountains. Accessible by car, which is a plus. Also, very close to the beautiful Ciolanu Monastery, another great location to visit while in the area. PS. Dony forget your camera home.
Nicely situated beautiful sculptures
Nice place to visit.
I was happy to see the place in a better shape than I heard it was for many years. There you can take a nice walk in the nature, admiring various sculptures made by Romanian artists over a decade in the 70s. I wish we have now similar artistic initiatives!
Awsome sculptures almost 50 years old
Open air exhibition of stone carvings.
Very nice and peaceful place!
A great place to visit. Dont mind the cows wandering around, they wont bother you.
Situated on a hill side, in open space in the nature it lies on both sides of the road. Its a beautiful place, near a forest and a monestary. The sculptures are a wide range of artistic curents. Some are very expresive while some are abstract. All in all, its an art gallery. There is a card containing the names of the sculptures.
Amazing place, must see!
Beautiful sculptures posted outside from 70s. No parking or info available. Just park in front of the monastery and walk through the sculptures.
Nice place with more than 100 large stone sculptures. A pity to see all the garbage on the ground.
A wonderful place and experience, more than 200 pieces of high quality stone sculpture displayed in a open area, representative for Romanian contemporary art.
