Low-key American diner serving burgers, sandwiches & a buffet for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
Food was good. But they said they would bring the dressing to our table since the pan at the buffet was empty and that never happened. My wife asked for a peach cobbler and they ignored her, but didn’t worry about it since it was a buffet and we could go back. We started to go back and the buffet was shut down for 15 min at 2:00. Could have warned us when we sat down. Server was nice, but my tea ran empty. We just left.
The restaurant has a lovely view of the beach. The service was wondering. They were friendly and nice. The food not so much. It looked like it had been sitting there for a very long time.
I was very happy to finally go here, I have heard so much about this place and I have to say it was a bit of a let down. The service was amazing our server was Top Tier. That buffet line hurt. My suggestion eat a small snack or something because you are going to wait to get some food. The chicken and Mac and cheese was terribly bland, but the roast was heavenly I could eat that roast for days. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting over all I enjoyed myself, but to me it didnt live up to the reputation I had heard for years.
I was told by one of My employees to eat at Magnolias , that employee has been fired 😆. Ive never seen food so disgusting in my life. I cant believe that someone wouldve give this place a good review they must be friends or employees. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. My family was so excited to eat there , We were staying at The Hilton Enclave for the week right down the street. We left shaking our heads. The server young male was very nice and I felt sorry for him to work in a place like that , I gave him a good tip it wasnt his fault.
My wife and I went for the breakfast buffet. Everything was fresh and hot, very efficient and friendly waitress and everything was clean. We enjoyed the visit. Buffet was $11.25 after tax. Looking forward to trying the lunch buffet. They serve the food cafeteria style so you tell them what you want and they put it on the plate. Make as many trips back as you like.
Southern cooking at its finest! Great food and excellent staff! Restaurant was immaculate and visually appealing. Its buffet style but nothing like your used to.
Love this place. The food is awesome and fresh! Its a buffet but they make your plate for you and the food is covered away from customers. You dont have to worry about people reaching, coughing, sneezing etc. over the food. We go there every time we visit there.
Great breakfast served cafeteria style. Great service too!
We had a late dinner here 8pm before 9pm close., service was great ,food was very good , It. Is a buffet, My favorites fried fish and collard greens. I would not hesitate to go back here again, 👍
Great place to have a quick breakfast. They offer a breakfast buffet which has a wide variety of options. The food was good and the service was great. It was really impressive watching everyone there work so well together to take care of their guests.
Maybe it’s a southern White thing but we weren’t too impressed. The gentleman behind the counter(white skinny guysuper friendly and was happy to help. Two darker gentlemen acted as if u were a bother. The waitresses looked stressed however I think our servers name was Tracy… she was great and knew exactly where to point us when looking for a bodega/corner store/ muslimish store. As some mentioned the buffet is more cafeteria style. If you want to bring home left overs or even a freshly made plate they charge u by the pound which I never heard of before. For the price meh. Overall it was okay. I personally tried the fish (I think it was flounderpretty good for my first time ever. The Mac and cheese was good but I expected great since we are down south. There was a weird squash casserole I never heard of nor will try again lol. There was this weird kind of spicey rice. It was good but not idk my mouth was confused. The cabbage was okay. The chicken was good as soon as u got it but after it sat and cooled down meh.
Great experience. Food and service was very good. Took away a star because of the minimal selection. Also need some choices for people who have diabetes. Still great food though.
We always love coming to magnolias before this time was terrible they changed from buffet to cafeteria style service not nearly as much food as before as no where near as good.I ask the lady at check out if they changed hands she said no just their style of service and that they were never going back to buffet. I told her we didn’t like it . Wasn’t good ! And they went from $13. To $19 definitely not worth $6. Extra sorry magnolias was great before but not anymore!!!!
Excellent food, was home cooking style. Buffet was served by servers but you got to choose what you wanted. Roast beef fried chicken turkey meat fried flounder. A bunch of warl side options, side salad, several types of dessert options. After I chose all my food and had a plate full, I thought this is too much food but I was still able to eat it all. Im not a quitter. Staff was all very nice. I learned from the friendly lady at the cash register that its a family owned business that grows there own food on a local farm. Not what you would expect from a beach town. More like southern cooking, reminded me of my grandmas gravy.
Breakfast buffet was mediocre at best. Wasnt impressed with the cafeteria style service. Waitress was friendly.Fast forward to the next day dinner buffet. This was a complete joke. 21.00 for the buffet that didnt have food they listed as available (mashed potatoes being onechicken was so dry you couldnt eat it, fried zucchini was greasy and soggy, got more chicken bones than actual chicken in the chicken n dumplings and green beans were straight from the can with no seasoning but edible. Catfish looked like it had been sitting for quite a while. Very sorry looking buffet. We both ended up eating a serving of green beans and chicken n dumplings. They knew the buffet was not up to par because the hostess was already apologizing to the customers in front of about the buffet lacking. When we complained she simply stated they were short handed (I understand thatbut I was done when she said she paid 10.00 for an Arbys sandwich and large tea and that wasnt all you can eat. Yeah 21.00 for chicken n dumplings with greenbeans. If I could give this place a zero I would
I’ve come here on two separate occasions, once before COVID, and just recently over the weekend. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. I like the fact that it is a true buffet but that they serve the food to you cafeteria style. This makes me feel much safer. The food itself is lacking flavor. Service is good. Reasonably priced.
Not the same restaurant my family is use to visiting when we visit Myrtle Beach. First, the staff is very RUDE here now. When getting in the buffet line, they have servers to serve your food. I dont have a problem with that, but when I asked one of the servers to put some more of a particular item on my plate, she flat out refused. I had to ask her twice and thats when she loudly sighed out...uggghhh and threw the food onto my plate. As far as the food, it has changed and not for the better. Its not good like it use to be. A lot of items were Tasteless so to speak. Overall, my family and I wont be visiting Magnolias again not only because of the Tasteless food but because of the Tasteless Customer Service. We rather spend our vacation money on folks who take pride in customer service. Good luck and I pray your Customer service changes for the best otherwise there would be more customers lost due to the rudeness of the people working there. I was always taught that if you dont like where you work, CHANGE your line of work. Do it for yourself and the people you serve.
Just finished eating the buffet at Magnolias At 26th, and must I say: I loved it! Everything we ate was delicious. The service was great as well. If you like Southern food, this is the place to go. The price is also a great bang for your buck! I will surely be back...
Was never offered a menu, because it is apparently assumed that everyone will get the buffet. I didnt want the buffet but thats what I ended up with anyway. The buffet is very small with limited options and is handled cafeteria style so you dont get your own food. 4 Protein choices: 3 out of 4 were fried... fried shrimp, fried flounder, fried chicken or what appeared to be country style steak (?Service was virtually non existent- no drink refills, no check back by waitress until we were nearly finished, except when she grabbed our tray off the end of the table, without pausing at all, on her way to another table, so i had to "catch her" to ask for butter as the butter bowl on the table was empty - by that point the corn on the cob and potato i needed the butter for were both cold. Not a great experience.
Don’t waste your time or money. This place has gone so far down hill that it serves as an embarrassment to the Anderson family. The food was tasteless, the check out staff were not even rude, they never said a word other than “sign this”. Sad, truly sad.
Arrived near the end of breakfast buffet and EVERYTHING was overcooked from sausage eggs even my wife,s waffle. The waitress was nice enough to get some fresh eggs cooked, sausage was miserable. They did take one of the buffets off of the bill. They said they were short of help, but it was not good on this day.
Great breakfast place. Glad my family recommended going. Its neat, simple, cheap, and most importantly it tastes good. For all you can eat breakfast food it was amazing.
Our waitress Cate was the worst waitress we have ever had. We had a party of 9, not a big deal for this place. Most of us ordered buffet, but my step-grandmother ordered a simple salad. She waited over 40 minutes for a salad. Our waitress told her over and over that it was not ready, then on the last attempt to get her salad, the waitress told her that her salad was the least of her worries and got in her face. My step-grandma had her sugar drop while waiting and tried to get up and leave. Seriously do not eat here people.
Incredibly delicious food... still constantly fresh and diverse and stocked even after Covid. (After returning most of my favorites were notService and quality is impeccable. Vegetables are fresh all buffet items are in small quantities so when you arrive they are piping hot and fresh. The price is phenomenal, best food I had all week!
The food at this spot was amazing literally everything was good. The greens and the fried chicken were seasoned perfectly. Its buffet style so you will leave stuffed. Our waiter Matt was great as well he made sure that everything about our dinning experience at Magnolias was good. Will definitely be coming back.
It wasnt as good as I remember. They have a server line now since COVID. On the mixed fruit they just have the bowls sitting there. On the gravy biscuit, she didnt open the biscuit. She just plopped the biscuit on my plate and dumped the gravy on it before I had the time to say anything. The scrambled eggs were real which was a plus. The waffles were already precooked. At least the coffee was hot and the waitress was attentive.
I ate so much food that I rolled outta there when we were done. The buffet is awesome the grits and the watermelon just everything was fabulous! The staff was attentive and friendly I could not have asked for a better experience. If I could give 3 million stars I would. Absolutely phenomenal!!
A nice little place to eat at. We had vouchers from our hotel, the Carolinia. The food was hot, seasoned well. Its buffet style, they have servers behind the counter. Staff was friendly. Never made it there for lunch or dinner. I would recommend this place to try.
I wish I had gotten a picture of how bad everything looked. I should have known walking in and the place was dead. Food selection was scarce at best. Dried out and overcooked chicken, cooked apples and green beans were strait out of a can, popcorn shrimp was also dried out and seemed to be yesterdays dish and the "mashed potatoes" were definitely boxed and swimming in a buttery water mixture. The country style steak was pretty good though, guess thats one take away.Just a HUGE disappointment given the previous reviews. Paid $80 for a meal after a whopping 10% discount when we didnt even eat and literally left to go somewhere else. Stay away!
The quality of the local organic grown food can not be beat. They locally grow what you eatGreat for groups are alone. The new norm is cafeteria style vs. Buffet style. But there food is amazing, with friendly staff and family atmosphere.
Great little breakfast buffet with good food. The staff were not very attentive when we were here in June but our visit was fantastic. Horrible prices on milk and juice for a small glass, but other than that the prices were decent.
This place has some great hospitality, there breakfast buffet is worth it. They also offer lunch and dinner I hear its also as delicious as there breakfast you cant go wrong with this place. "Good food" and generous with the amount you get.
Our first time eating here! Really good soul food and its buffet. We are from Salisbury, NC. Anytime we come back to Myrtle Beach, we will visit here again! Great atmosphere, hospitality, and customer service. Our waiter was Collin very nice and friendly young man. The food was so good we didnt get a chance to take photos lol.
Came here with a promotion from my hotel. Me and my family received 4 breakfast vouchers. The venue is very lovely and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was good with a lot of variety. The staff were very pleasant to deal with. My only suggestion would be to create another line for the breakfast buffet as it can get very chaotic. Its also tight and it takes a long time to get your food. Also make sure to get their early as it is a very popular restaurant and you might wait close to 45 minutes to be seated. Overall, it was a great place and I definitely recommend it.
It is a buffet, however it is not self service. The cafeteria style service is a real drawback. You pick up a tray, then tell the people behind the line what to put on your plate, and carry the tray with your plates and bowls through the line.If theyre going to have this style service they need to put some bars along the line for you to slide your tray on instead of you having to carry your tray through the entire line. Older people would find this a real detriment.Food wise:Clam chowder - probably the best weve ever hadFried chicken was goodFried shrimp was real goodThe greens were excellentPrice was reasonable.
"buffet" food was decent, made to order food was lackluster, chicken was not cooked thoroughly. We arrived approx 45 min before closing and they told us last call was at 845. My son went back up at 840 to get dessert and a lot was being cleaned up already. Then the server made it very evident that we were needing to leave ASAP.
Its just ok. I got my food to go and they weight the food you get from the line. I asked for just a tiny bit of helping from each line item but the person adding the food would add a huge amount. My total for just the food came to 40 bucks and I only ate a little bit of it cause the food was beyond salty. This was not my cup of tea!
We the food was OK, tasted fine. Instead of eating from the buffet we order off the menu .... I do this for health reasons ost meats off buffets are battered and fried which I cannot have. There was 3 people in our party... each ordering a different item for the menu. Frankly I felt like the portions were very small for the price.I paid $27+ for a broiled seafood platter and could have went up the street a block and ordered the same dinner and had a much bigger meal and the quality would have been equal. One person in the party ordered a hamburger with just ketchup ..... it came as a cheese burger ..... it was for a child who wont eat cheese .... hard to mess up something that simple. The restaurant was very clean ... and not very busy ....Overall if i was looking for another dinner meal I think I would look elsewhere in order to get my moneys worth.
The food tasted homemade and corn on cob tasted like it was fresh from the farm! Lemon pie was 🔥!!! Except the piece I got was only a sliver! Needed to be a larger slice for a dessert at a buffet. The price was very reasonable for the food offered. Received three stars because the servers for the buffet had horrible attitudes, very rude and nasty, had to ask several times to get more macaroni and cheese but I was given half a scoop. Tray used to carry food was shoved at me and when i asked for pie, the server placed it clear on the end away from me. When I asked for a to go container, he just dumped my pie in the box shown in picture below. I would love to go back but those servers need customer service training!
We reserved the upstairs room for our local high school soccer banquet. We had about 100 people attend including players and parents. The food was really good, and the service was even better. The had two younger guys handle our entire group and they did amazing. We will most likely continue to use Magnolias for our yearly banquet.
Just found this gem of a restaurant. Very casual and cozy. Our server Josh was friendly without being phoney. We had the buffet which was wonderful. The chicken and dumplings were so delicious and my husband loved the lima beans as well as everything else. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Myrtle Beach.
First visit was good, looking forward to stopping by before leaving the area. Its a buffet—We got there around 12 noon and they were setting up for brunch. The bar is covered so you do not touch the plates or utensils used to pick up the food. People fix your plate wearing face mask and gloves. You pick up your tray and tell them what you want. The salad bar was fresh looking and the hot bar area was looking inviting as well with fried chicken, shredded pork, smothered chicken in gravy, rice, sautéed okra, collards, cabbage, more meat, vegetables, peach cobbler, pies and cakes. I requested Tea/lemonade mix which was so good I requested a to go up with more of it. One time to the bar was good enough for us. The portion size they put on your plate is very generous and they ask if you want more. The cost for two people with drinks was $43.55 at 12 noon. The waitress was very nice and it was not crowded at all. I’m looking forward to round two so I can try something different. Since going we have told other people about it and even shared the story behind the life of the owner and how the hotel/ restaurant got started. Doing so made them want to try it out as well. May the Lord continue to bless the owner, staff and the ones working behind the scene for many years to come.
breakfast buffet came free with a stay at Carolinian hotel by vacasa. Food was hot and delicious, low fat and healthy options are available. we went once at 9am and it was very full and took about a 20 min wait. However, when we arrived at 7:15 it was a breeze to be seated and go through the buffet line. once we were seated the service was always attentive in both cases.
The food was great. Down home cooking at its finest. Reasonable prices for your food. Endless buffet.
Super cute restaurant right behind our hotel at the Carolinian. We had the buffet which had plenty of great options from biscuits and Gravy to fresh made French toast!! Everything was hot and fresh including the coffee. Our waitress Cynthia was an absolute delight. Very accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of. We will be back again soon.
Buffet was cold. Majority of food seemed old. Once the dinner crowd showed up, they had horrible service. Our waiter was super nice but it was clear they were understaffed. Although the menu said $17.95 it actually cost $20 a person with a water.Update: I think I ended up with food poisoning because I was very sick that night.
Everyone is friendly and greets you with a smile. I ate their breakfast buffet every day of my vacation. It was included with my stay at Carolina resort. The food was always fresh the grits were the highlight. Tons to choose from.
Had to drive down the road aways until we hit magnolias at 26th buffet. A very fine southern buffet it is. Food delivery is dished up for you. But thats okay. Food was very tasty, service was excellent, in a comfortable location, and at a reasonable price. Most likely consider returning. Yall come down now. Yhear?
The AYCE breakfast buffet is delish. A good variety to choose from. They serve you cafeteria style. Grits were cooked to perfection. Potatoes were crispy and cooked the way I liked them. Choose from bacon, sausage or links or patties and even corned beef hash. Kid friendly options as well fruit, muffins, donuts, French toast sticks. Our hotel allowed us to eat for free however if you arent that fortunate the prices are reasonable. Staff was awesome! Great group of waitresses. We were able to walk in each day we were there except Sunday. Short wait time was told about a 15 min wait but was seated in less than 10.
Another guest at our hotel mentioned this restaurant since we have never been... we tried it and it is well worth the $15.99 fee for dinner all you can eat buffett.... the staff was so friendly and due to COVID19 we just had to tell the sweet lady behind the buffet table what we wanted....They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner but we only tried dinner, I have no doubts the other times are just as good!Oh and the porkchops a must try, but is was ALL good!! We will definitely be back!
