Magnolia Brewing - Haight in San Francisco
Description
Privilege
Such a fun place. The beer was delicious. The food was even better. Server was super friendly. Great overall experience. Highly recommend. Try the ahi tuna burger for sure!
MoreI had the flight formula : testing 4 beers and its was good. Customer service is top and music too.
MoreOver the top customer friendly. Ice cold delicious beer. The music was classic R&B, which makes you feel right at home. Matt is delightful ✌🏽a must see in Haight- Ashbury.
MoreAlways great service, food and an AWESOME beer selection.
This place has changed a lot over the years, but I still love it! The beer is more generic now (bring back the bitters!), but its still solid. Food is much better than it was.
MoreGreat vibe! Bit hectic when there are lot of people but made it more fun. Decent food and great drinks.
MoreWent for dinner. The beer was delicious paired with some incredible brussels sprouts burger and fries. We also got a side of the mac & cheese and it was incredible! Highly recommend!
MoreNice little micro brewery it has everything you would expect.
Ive always loved this place, been coming here for years. Although the beers and food are still awesome, the recent remodel kind of sterilized the vibe. Try the sausages and the cheese plate and of course, the beers!
MoreFantastic food, great atmosphere and amazing service from Eluterio!! Beer was soooo good 👍
MoreBright, easy to find, family friendly, attentive staff. The specific day I went they had only one IPA (tasty), I hope on my next visit to see more
MoreGreat Beer selection. Excellent good as well. Stepped up my old doorman skills and got 2 groups in to dig this Cicerone Mecca. Like.
MoreDecent brewery, I just wish they had more creative and exciting beers. Chris was a phenomenal bartender!
MoreBeer is good, but not great. Food quality has greatly diminished in the past few years (as of May 2022), and the menu is small and mostly typical brewpub food.Overall, very disappointing, as I used to go out of my way to visit.
MoreMagnolias was excellent. Beer was very good, the food was phenomenal (recommended the quinoa bowl!), and the service was top notch
MoreOut of the beer I wanted!! Out of the wine my wife wanted!! And Bar Tender was a total tool bag!!! Dont waste your time!!
MoreOn a quick layover in San Fran and wanted to venture out somewhere quick and cool, and this place just hit the spot! Really lovely and cool staff, good beer, funky neighborhood, 5 stars easy!
MoreDo you want to have good beer in the hood? Magnolia is the place.. And some food…
MoreWent to this place multiple times. Loved beer selection. Such a shame they’ve taken the kombucha out - would have drank even with unclear %proof 😂I’ve taken some vegetarians and they loved it as much as I did. You must try brussels sprouts!
MoreThank you guys so so much for accommodating our 20+ group. Yall were amazing. The food was fabulous. I got the Cosmic Seas that was to die for and another coworker for the shark bite, he said that was amazing too. Appreciate yall! We will def be back the next time we hold a company summit!
MoreStrangely one of just a few bars to get a drink on Haight. We got seated right away, which was kind since there was a wait. The beer options are limited (I think there were only 6 or 7 beers on tap), but I enjoyed what I had.
MoreNice place - really good craft beer, and delicious food. Friendly and Attentive service too!
MoreStaff is friendly but forgot about our table at some point. Food is fine but I didn’t enjoy it. It’s just fine. Burger is better than bbq ribs imo.
MoreI really like the beer of this place, I would give more stars just because of that. However, last time I went there I orderder some fish and chips and felt pretty average. I had visit this place about 5 months ago and it was better, furthermore the waitress with pink hair didnt have a good attitude.
MoreFriendly local spot with great rotating selection of beers (lager, brown ale, sours, dark lager, IPAs etc). The food is pretty average overall but they do have a fried chicken special on Thursdays which is worth going for.
MoreFirst time we visited this place! And we all loved it! My cousin Berkeley ordered the burger, it was cooked perfectly. And he said he liked it. My daughter ordered a fish and chips, and hands down its the best shes had. I tried some and she was not wrong! I ordered this shrimp sandwich with fries, and I wasnt disappointed. Sauce was really good, and the bread was beautifully buttered!!! Im getting hungry again just think about it.
MoreGreat pub and very friendly welcoming service. We had a beer and tonic drink plus the chicken wings and bradwurst. We loved the bradwurst - really tasty, but the buffalo basted chicken wings weren’t that great. Perhaps next time we will try the other basting.
MoreBiased because I remember pre-buyout Magnolia. The stars are for the service, which was attentive. The cheese board is drastically overpriced. The beer is B+ in a S-ranked scene. The garlic fries are great. The tempura cauliflower relies on the sauce for flavor.
MoreWestern Horizon IPA was the best beer we tried. Service was good. The place was very busy.
MoreThis is a nice place to hang out. They have great beer, cool atmosphere, and friendly service. I hope next time Im in town to be able to stay longer and try the food. Well worth visiting.
MoreArrived on Friday night at 8:30pm for dinner and some drinks only to be informed that they were no longer serving food. We decided to grab a bite somewhere else and return for drinks. When we got back to magnolia at 9pm we were informed that they were “done for the night” and were turned away. They still had more than half of there tables seated with patron drinking. On there website they have posted hours that read 3pm-10pm on Friday’s. I live in the neighborhood and will not be giving them my business any longer.
MoreStaffs were friendly, beers were good. I didn’t give it a 5 star because the food was not very impressive. After all, a nice place to hang out with friends and take some drinks.
MoreOne of our favorite SF brewery/gastropub. The food here is amazing and goes so well with their very tasty bear. We are definitely coming back here to try more of their food.
MoreSolid gastropub in the old hippie district of San Francisco. Nice selection of local beer. Menu somewhat limited but of high quality. Get a parking fairy!
MoreBest place I ate so far on my west coast trip. Excellent food, awesome beers, great service!
MoreStill brewing downstairs and its still excellent - the English cask is particularly smashingNormally would remove a star for not being independent anymore with Belgium Brewing - but so good at Haight St still
MoreReally nice place, great atmosphere and friendly staff. I would have loved to have given it 5 stars, however my “medium rare” burger was basically cremated!
MoreGood people watching. Great servers. Fast service and good, reasonably-priced food. Nice selection of locally made beers.
MoreVery boisterous, unpretentious neighbourhood brewpub. Small bistro tables, intimate booths, and a high communal table. Creative menu of local sustainable food, deliciously executed and served. Daily soup- I had a tomato bisque with drizzled pesto that was sublime. A handful of vegetarian choices. Wine list is mostly California with some excellent varietals and vintages at reasonable prices. The fresh beer is vibrant ant the menu descriptions spot on.The ‘dish towel’ napkins are good quality, as is the flatware. Portions are healthy and a good value. If you want ground pepper, ask for it...Tables near the entry can be drafty in the evening. A wonderful place to stop in for a new flavour at the bar on the way home from work. Ear plugs recommended for noise sensitive.
MoreI arrived at around 11:10am to the lovely smell of beer brewing. Sat outside in the shade. Where there were a couple tables set up. Was quickly greeted with a smile, menus, and water. Food and beer was delicious. Service was perfect. Would and probably will gladly return!!!!
MoreA great laidback place to have some good craft beer and organic food. Shopping hasn’t panned out for me so I’ve decided to make this visit to SF more about eating and drinking. Magnolia was recommended by a friend and definitely worth a visit.First the beer. I started with the Proving Ground IPA and the Cucumber Constrictor IPA. The Proving Ground was good with a hint of maltiness, but the Cucumber Constrictor was amazing! Love the cucumber.I ordered the Buddha bowl and when it eventually arrived (my food too almost an hour but the wait staff did offer a free beer to apologise for the waitit was really tasty and provided the vege goodness that I felt like.
MoreAmazing selection of beers, some as exotic has having pepper and salt, just delicious. I did not eat, but overall is a nice bar to hang out in Haight.
MoreExcellent, balanced beers and really good (and reasonablesmall plates. Friendly and authentic staff. The interior has seen better days. Sidewalk seating and great people watching on the corner of Haight and Masonic.
MoreSlow even the restaurant was almost empty and the hamburger I ordered was overcooked, almost burned. The beer tasting is a plus they have a nice local selection. One day per week they prepare their famous chicken, its totally worth it and the only reason Id come back here.
MoreThis place is very close to my place and I always saw a wait there, so I decided to check it out. This time thankfully there wasnt any wait and we were able to get a table right away. 1st impression- this place is LOUD but Its a brewery so i think its okay (?). I tried fivery time pale ale and winter warmer and both the beers were excellent and I really want to try more beers from here. The beer menu is dominated by IPAs but I thinks thats whats expected from a bay area bar(?).Food was average. My burger was cooked perfectly but was under seasoned. The duck was definitely over cooked in the duck pasta. The fries were okay and the deviled eggs were great! The vanilla creme was good too.Our server was friendly and we were happy with our overall experience. Will definitely return for the beer and maybe fried chicken Thursday.
MoreTerrific brewpub on Haight. Wide variety of styles including a couple of IPAs on cask. Small menu but everything Ive had here has been good.
MoreAbsolutely mind blowing! In house brewed beers whoch are amazing!. King Salmon is delicious! Rare wines. Cool scene and vibrant atmosphere. Service is awesome! Love love love!!!
MoreThe Buddha Salad Bowl and house-made Kombucha were perfect for a healthy, delicious lunch! Atmosphere was fun, not too busy but lively and service was decent. Right in the heart of Haight-Ashbury, I recommend this stop for a brew and meal.
MoreExcellent spot for both beer and grub. Brussel sprouts are LIFE. Very knowledgeable staff too. Also this may be a strange compliment but the bathroom is mad classy.
MoreReally cool place. Waiter was extremely knowledgeable. Awesome location with delicious food and unique brews.
