Casual, easygoing spot specializing in Chinese hand-pulled noodles, dumplings & rice bowls.
Amazing food and great noodles. They make their noodles by hand. You can see the cooks rolling out the dough. Ordered the Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles And Mongolian Beef Fried Noodle. Very delicious. They have a QR code you can scan with your phone to look at the menu. Their menu has all the pictures with the food listed which was nice to see a visual. For parking they have a small lot in the back of the building. Or you will have to find street parking. We were seated right away and the staff were amazing. Definitely check this place out!
Every time I order food from Master Noodle, whether it be for dine-in or take-out, its always delicious. I love how easy it is to order and pay for my food with my phone while Im dining in and when Im ordering to-go.No matter what you order, youre always going to get something full of flavor.
surprisingly very good!. Def a great addition to the Already great University food corridor to... greater.if order the fried dumplings...just drown it into your hot and spicy soup and enjoy!
Consistently very good. Everything we order here is delicious. Very quick service. Noodles are made fresh and hand-pulled on the spot. Just be aware that the milk tea comes in a can. Next door is a Boba tea place if you like a freshly made one.
Good service and menu. Chongqing Spicy Noodle Soup and Scallion Pancakes were tasty.
The food was alright. My favorite was the woodear mushroom appetizer. The cucumber was also very good. The Taiwanese tomato beef noodle soup was ok, in my opinion. More than half the beef in my soup was cartilage/non-edible hard pieces, so to me that was disappointing. The service was kind if frustrating. Our waitress had 3 tables (including oursbut was too busy hanging out/ speaking to one of the tables and it took a VERY long time for her to come take our order. Most likely would not be interested in returning here.
Got the braised egg and pork, chicken and mushroom noodle soup, and Taiwanese tomato beef brisket noodle soup.1. Braised egg and pork - I liked how the pork was tender. Loved the depth of flavor.Chicken and mushroom noodle soup 2. Loved how many mushrooms were in it! The noodles were nice and chewy. The broth was a little bland, but theres condiments on the table to make it taste better (of which I didnt use but wish I did)3. Taiwanese tomato beef brisket noodle soup - take advantage of the condiments on the table
Amazing hand-pulled noodles at Master Noodle. Prices are reasonable and service is fast. Weve had many of their entrees, but we especially like the Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles, fried rice, egg rolls, Garlic Chicken Fried Noodles and the dumplings. St. Paul has some excellent restaurants and this is one of them!
Noodles and broth are just ridiculously good. I also had the pork dumplings and they were perfectly light and crisp on the bottoms with a pillowy soft tops. It was top notch food and I highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was perfectly seasoned and light yet filling.
I had been driving by and wanted to check out venue and the menu so we finally made it today! What a tasty treat the noodles handmade and that flavorful sauce was absolutely to die for ♥️🤤🤤🤤 so glad we came!
Amazing food. Super authentic food and service. If you like Asian food youll love this. Super good authentic drinks too. Green tea cheesecake is a must for dessert.
Got the Taiwanese beef brisket and tomato noodle soup. The noodles were a bit tough but the flavor tasted just like home from 7000miles away.
The noodle soup & pork wontons are SO good. I’ll be back!!
Got the "beef burrito" as an appetizer and the Bei Jing noodles with soybean paste. My friend got one of the Noodle soup (cant recall which). All of the dishes were delicious and so flavorful. The noodles were just the right chewy-ness and the broth in the Noodle soup was mouthwatering. I would definitely recommend and go again.
It was good. Nothing special, though. They charge a small service fee AND an automatic tip for take-out orders when you order online. Kind of annoying since you are picking it up-not getting delivery or table service. I wont be back for take-out here.
The service here is faster than fast food and the hand pulled noodles are just always so perfect. I especially enjoy the braised pork bc the flavor and texture combo there is phenomenal. Completely reasonable prices and the food is plenty filling so worth every penny.
This was our first visit. I got Pan Fried Pork Dumplings and Garlic Beef Fried Noodles. The Dumplings were fine. The Garlic Beef was very garlicky and the noodles were delicious! Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal and we are looking forward to going back!
The food was okay. The hand pulled noodles themselves taste great and are very long and chewy, but the sauces used were a little too salty. The ambiance is nice. The service here is really lacking though - we were rushed the entire time we were here, and the female server came back to grab payment from us multiple times in the span of 2-3 minutes, and didnt give us enough time to pack the rest of our food to-go. It was still 15 minutes before the posted closing time when we were wrapping up and heading out the door... Also, she didnt bring our change back... Ive been here twice, and I dont think Ill be back anymore.
Flavors were good, but a bit too salty and oily. Our waitress was extremely unprofessional and continously hassled us to pay our bill while we were still eating. Not even a minute after the first time she came to check if there was money in the checkbook, she came back again... and again. She acted like she wanted to kick us out, despite it still being 30 minutes before their closing time. She was very curt and started pulling the shades shut at the tables next to ours. Really an awkward experience having to tell her to give us a minute, multiple times, with food in our mouths. Our waitress practically yanked the plate out of my hands just as I finished scooping it into a to-go box. She didnt bother giving us our change back after we paid, and glared at us as we left.Unfortunately, cant recommend dining in past 8pm, since youll be totally unwelcome.
CANNOT MISS THIS PLACE!! Amazing food, and I wish I honestly could try the whole menu at once. Everything was delicious - and I highly recommend starting with the edamame that are super addictive. 11/10, cant wait to go back.
Extremely small portions. Noodles are handmade but were not cooked well.
I ordered 7 items, every item was different and mostly noodle dishes. Im not knocking this restaurant for the 3 stars and if I could I would score it 3.5 stars. This restaurant isnt bad, its just not my style of Chinese food or noodle dishes.Noodles were great, broth was good but every noodle dish I purchased seem to be the same soup base.. 6.5/10Dumplings. The internal meats were great and the shell was decent. 6.5/10Beef cumin bun. Best item I bought and I knew it was going to be great. 8.5/10Steam dumplings. Very well made and really enjoyed it. 8.5/10
Really authentic place! All the noodles/rice noodles are very good, and the appetizers are authentic as well! The noodles are made on the spot. The food also got to us really quick. 10 out of 10 would recommend!
Great place for modern Chinese (and not Chinese-Americancasual dining fare. All their noodle soups are great. If you want something different, try anything with braised pork belly. And the cumin beef sandwich is my favorite appetizer from anywhere! The noodles are chewy and taste like they absorb great flavor from the soup.More expensive than most Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai takeout but the food is different enough for it to be worth it.
Very delicious! There is a window where you can actually see them making the noodles by hand. It wasn’t very busy since it was a week night. We got our food in less than ten minutes.
The food was so good!! Fresh handmade noodles and just a very clean and quiet place to enjoy ! HighlyRecommend! 😋😋😋😋😋😋
Master Noodle does not disappoint! We loved the dumplings and noodles that we tried. It’s fun to watch the chef making the noodles through the window. Those noodles are so long! The food comes very quickly. We ate Garlic Chicken Noodles(not spicy), Sichuan wonton in chili oil, Lanzhou noodle soup, curry chicken noodles, pan fried pork dumplings, steamed rice sides. I liked that portions were not too huge. Service was excellent (Fiona was our server).
Quiet lunch place with great flavors and smells. Shangri noodle bowl was full of wonderful noodles and a rich, delicious broth. Brisket was extremely fatty but otherwise a delightful lunch experience!
you had me at hand pulled noodles. but seriously, the twin cities has been waiting for a place like this for a long time and we finally have it. really high quality ingredients and very flavorful broth. good noodles are just something you keep coming back to, and magic noodles does them right!
Ive ordered from Magic Noodle twice. The first time I got the Chongqing spicy noodle, the scallion pancake, and the mutton sandwich. Chongqing noodle was good 9/10, the scallion pancake was covered in steam and rubbery by the time I got home. It was like eating dough 2/10. The mutton sandwich was okay 5/10.The second time was from today. I ordered the braised pork and egg noodle and the sichuan cold noodle. The cold noodle was great and refreshing 9/10. As for the braised pork, they didnt give me any broth and my noodles had solidified into the shape of the bowl (see pics). Its really disappointing.Maybe my experience will be better when covid is over and everyone can eat inside again.
When the waiter ask you if you want ice in your water! 😍 While checking in on us, the waiter brought extra napkins! The dumplings burst with soup and were steamy fresh. The noodles were so long, it was a fun experience. Great tastey soups. Best restuarant experience Ive had in a long time.
Awesome to have an authentic Chinese restaurant with hand pulled noodles in Saint Paul. The pulled noodles and the shaved noodles both have unique flavor and the dishes are fresh and flavorful. They don’t leave you with the heavy feeling some Raman dishes can. Cool to watch them pull the noodles through the kitchen window as well.
Overall a very recent place for noodles. The menu is brief, which is good because you wont need 50 items when you are good at one thing- noodles. I love the texture of their hand pulled noodles, the dishes were well seasoned too. We got the cold black fungus and really enjoyed it. I got the Chongqing spicy noodles and thought it was delicious but a tad salty. To be fair, I cant remember the last time I ate pork so that could be the reason it wasnt exactly to my taste. Fyi- they are very accommodating to vegetarians but cant take the pork out of these particular noodles, which is a bummer for me. My partner got the mushu noodles and they were good. We loved how clean the place was, especially the restroom. The window to watch the noodle pulling was entertaining.
Oh man, I have been wanting to come here for so long and on a cold, blustery MN day, it finally happened! The tea was hot and plentiful, we didn’t have to wait long at all either. The langxhou noodle soup was full of flavor and tons of hand pulled noodles. The beef was tender and the herbs gave a freshness to the meaty broth. There’s chili oil, vinegar and soy sauce on the table to make it your own. The fried beef dumplings were good and with 6 to an order, that was plenty for two people to split. Can’t wait to come back!!
First time there but it will not be my last. Very clean restaurant, good portion sizes and friendly service. I will definitely be back. Only disappointment was the pancake on our beef burrito was too tough. Our shaved noodles and spicy noodles were wonderful!
Great place! Anytime someone is hand-pulling noodles, you know youre in for a treat. Our only complaint was the styrofoam use which, aside from being incredibly bad for the environment, was banned in St. Paul last year. Hopefully Magic Noodle finds a better green option before theyre busted by the city.
I cannot say enough good about this place! The noodles are INSANE! We got the Spicy Garlic Chicken Fried Noodles & Lanzhou Noodle Soup and both were so, so good. It’s incredible to watch the chefs twist and stretch and flip the noodles around. The environment, decor, and dishes are all superbly thought out and well chosen. The staff is kind, attentive, and hard working. We cannot wait to come back and hope this place does very well!
Ah, authentic Chinese noodles! Very pleasantly surprised by the food and the atmosphere here. For $12 you can get a great bowl of hand pulled noodle soup and instantly feel like youre in China (really reminded me of when I lived in Tianjin, China). The chili oil wonton appetizer was delicious. All of the art, decorations, even each of the ceramic bowls, plates, tea kettle, and spoons were delightful, elegant, and unique. Great service too! Will be back!!Sorry the photos arent great, was too captivated by my experience to remember to take better ones...
Very delicious hand pulled noodles with an amazing texture! I would come again and try there dumplings. Must say it was quite busy when I arrived so I sat at the bar. Overall great experience and did I mention how delicious and awesome those noodles are!
Yummy! The broth was great along with the fresh soft hand pulled noodles. I wouldve liked the beef brisket to be more tender. A little to tough for a soup dish. The pork belly was great, soft and sweet. The dumplings was delicious. It was a smaller portion size than I wouldve liked, but had such great flavors. The scallion pancake tasted better after sitting for a while as it cooled. I would definitely go back. Great noodle soup option other than pho.
This will have been my second time here. The first time was the first day it opened so I completely understand how busy they were. Now, on our second time here there are no lines and no one at the front desk. We wait 15 minutes for someone to come up and greet us. Then they hand us a handheld waiting device when there are 3 tables open. And again we wait another 15 minutes before anyone decides to seat us at an open table. When we’ve been finally seated, another couple comes in after us and they’re immediately seated! I don’t understand why it takes so long to have us seated at one of the three open tables with no wait time! It’s infuriating.I would have given this place 5 stars (3 because food here is greatbut service is horrible. I am really disappointed that each time that I am here, the service has been terrible. The spicy noodle is really good. Don’t forget to try the Sichuan wontons. We also ordered the shaved noodles and the braised egg braised pork noodles.
This isn’t your cheap Chinese takeaway joint in a sketchy rundown shopping center. The hand pulled noodles are incredible and the braised pork is top notch. We tried, cold cucumber, dumplings and spring rolls (friedas appetizers and they too were delicious. Servers were kind and quick. Ambiance was lovely. Even during the busy lunch hour the place didn’t feel loud or chaotic. I’d go back in a heart beat.
Finally St Paul has a hand pulled noodle restaurant! We were impressed and plan on returning. We got the Chongqing spicy noodle soup and the garlic chicken fried noodle. The service was very prompt and we waited less than 10 min for food. The flavors were unique and tasty, even if the chicken was sweeter than expected. The portions were very generous and we had leftovers to bring home.
Delicious noodles straight from the Old Country (Sichuan and Shanxi regional flavors are well represented). We ordered a variety of cold and hot dishes and were very satisfied by all the flavors and textures. Good, friendly, fast service too. Recommended!
Very welcoming atmosphere and the staff was friendly. It’s cool how they have a window of where the make the hand pulled noodles, very cool experience to see them make it right in front of you.The menu had a good selection of food from dumplings, noodles to rice bowls. They have generous noodle portion.
Magic Noodle offers fantastic house made noodles several ways - fried, in bowls, and as soup. Snacks are on offer for smaller portions. The noodles are fresh and well prepared. The broths are deep with rich flavor. Over three visits, each of the dishes I tried was remarkably good. Do not miss out.
Not bad, I mean the hand pulled noodles I ordered did have that texture I was expecting and feels fresh! The flavors were ok, not bad but not the best I’ve had. We were seated right away and food came out less than 10 minuets after ordering. Took a star off because of their high price and rude attitude I got from our server. I asked for extra spicy and she pointed at the chili oil on the table and left....
Great dinner! We ordered Cold Cucumber and Beef Dumplings for apps and then the Garlic Chicken fried noodles and Braised Pork+Egg noodle bowl. Service was fast, food was delicious! Garlic Chicken was marked ‘spicy’ but definitely not too spicy for an MN native. Braised pork was delicious but noodles were a little mild, flavor was mostly in the sauce. Texture on the handmade noodles was delightful and atmosphere was pleasant. We’ll be back!!
We are very happy to see a Chinese noodles restaurant open finally at twin cities area. Very Chinese style decor but the noodles portion is way to small for $11.95/per bowl. It seems like kids menu for adults. Sad. If they want more come-back business, they need to add up the portion. Really, its our sincere suggestion for their long term survival at this competitive dining market. About the cumin meat pie, you will be disappointed if you had been having it at LA or Boston or NYC.
Magic noodle just opened a few days ago as of this review and although they seemed to be quite busy, we were seated in under 30 min. The noodles were soft and tender, however I found the amount of beef in the dish was lacking. The steamed beef dumplings were great too, nice and juicy. The garlic edamame was truely the star of the show, and I cant wait to come back here sometime soon!
