Magic Ice Lofoten - Bar in Svolvaer, Norway
Magic Ice Lofoten in Svolvaer
Description
Super neat place to visit while you are in svolvær and the staff are very nice. Drinks are quite tasty as well. The flowers frozen in ice were my favorite.
MoreWonderful experience! Gianluca and Eleonora are great!
Very nice and oryginal place. Cocktail menu, very tasty 😉
Amazing ice bar - especially for kids. A lot of cool ice art and sculptures. You can’t beat the ice slide. Staff was amazing and friendly.
MoreSculptures all melted. Maybe another season.
Wow this place is Amazing and Not to be Missed they will give you a Special Coat. Its not Super big you will Only need no more then 35 minutes or less inside. Its Amazing to have this in a Building with a Special Freezer. I Did Enjoy the ice Bar with my mom and dad. There is a ice slide but use at your own Risk there are Special Mats. There is A Vicking Ice thing and some other Unique Stuff. Dont miss this Amazing thing in the Lofton Islands in Norway. They also have Non Alcohol if you Bring Youth or teens. One Drink you will get Incuded.
MoreAmazing, very good organised, we loved it, it deserves Michelin stars!!!
Awesome experience but it should need better drinks
Very nice to watch the sculptures
A unique experience, but overpriced. Lovely sculptures and great iceslide. Wear warm clothes because the poncho and their gloves are not enough for itself. I recommend buying tickets online (15 % off, except student tickets).
MoreThis place is a joke, it is recommended in the Lonely Planet but what you get is a few ice sculptures that are actually half melted (you read that right). The whole place looks abandoned and the cheap colored lightning doesn’t make up for it. We arrived at the same time as a bus of 50 retirees which made the whole experience even better. Avoid
MoreThis was a group visit from sky princess cruise ship, we were looked after really well, you are given a cape and a pair of gloves, (you need thembrilliant sculptures and very effective lighting, ice drinking glasses were a little unusual but in keeping with the theme, I would have liked a little longer there, but enjoyed enormously,
MoreTotally unexpected to find this bar on our BKB trip. Great experience from start to finish. Friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommend.
MoreA very enjoyable experience. Ice glasses made the wine and beer even colder. Temperature was minus 5. Sculptures were very good. You can park very close to it.
MoreSmall (500m2freezer with fascinating carvings in ice.Friendly staff.Done very well.
MoreAmazing ice sculptures with great lighting. It is open year round and is really close to the Hurtigruten terminal so it is easy to visit on the two hour stop in Svolvaer. The entrance charge includes a drink in an ice glass - with the choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic - and, more importantly, includes a thermally insulated poncho so it is still ok to visit if you are not already wearing polar gear. The entrance is along the quay to the left of the ship.
MoreVery nice bar at the port of Lofoten. Its worth stopping by once. The bar is already stylishly furnished from the outside. When you enter, you are immediately greeted by the staff. Inside there is a shop where you have to pay for the ticket for the exhibition and a drink at the ticket office. The price of 25 euros is relatively expensive, but its worth checking out. Upon entering, one also has the opportunity to use a jacket and gloves for the exhibition hall. Its a bit more like -10 degrees in the hall, so its advisable to dress well. The exhibition is attractively designed and there is an ice slide on the right side. The slide should be tried with caution. The bar is also well stocked, but because of the cold, you dont stay long in this place. The drinks are classic and its nice to drink from an ice glass. Especially the Argentinian employee from the Icebar Tromsø was very warm and open to talk to us about everything. You have to see such a bar at least once.
MoreReally cold experience, its worth it
Very pretty and mesmerizing ice art and great tasting wine for a welcome drink!
Very interesting and worth a visit at least once.
Gianluca and Benjamin deserve all the credit for our warm yet frigid experience! Drinks were great and these two were incredibly hospitable and fun. Yes, its freezing but well worth the time and money.
MoreA very different experience well worth a visit.
Great cocktail, what a fun place. Super art work and sculpture
Very much tourist hotspot. Loud air conditioning but fancy sculptures. We’d liked it for a one time experience. The glasses are made with ice.
MoreJust fantastic, unique, an experience, sculptures that while ice last over 3 years, has a bar with wines and spirits, glasses that you drink out of that are made from ice, some great music playing - please just go and see for yourself.
MoreQuite fun place! A lot of ice art in fancy light. Much of the art was viking themed. We get a welcome drink included in the fee. Nice to drink an ice cold cocktail in a glass that is actually made of ice. It is quite cold there so probably not a place to stay and drink for more than 30-40 minutes. Make sure to get the discounted ticket if you travel with Hurtigruten! 😉
MoreAmazing! Ice cold experience 😅Fun with the Ice slide inside. And alot of amazing ice sculptures too look at😊And, I have never tasted a better cider, served in a glas made of ice!
MoreYes, it is quite expensive, but we really enjoyed the time in Magic Ice. The sculptures are impressive, the slide was fun and we had a very very nice chat with the Lady working there. Thank you for the great experience!
MoreThis spot was alright. Super hyped up for what you pay for ($22-$28 per individual). Drinks are on the sweeter side. This spot is also the first one in the world. Most of the sculptures are worn down though. I found out there are other spots in Norway as well as a recent one in Iceland.
MoreGreat fun, mega sized ice carvings of Mermaids, vikings battling sea dragons, wolves etc with an ice bar serving non alcoholic drinks...
MoreSo much fun! So cold inside, they provide gloves and heavy ponchos with hoods. The price includes a drink. Theres a slide that everyone should try and gorgeous ice art, of course!
MoreSuper fun! I loved the welcome drink and couldnt resist the slide. The staff was so friendly and the sculptures were very interesting. The only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is its a bit spendy for the size and time spent.
MoreThe murals/ice paintings were good. All the statues was very decayed when we were there. If I had know before entering the statues was in such bad shape I wouldnt have entered. The drink included in the entry fee was OK.
MoreWorth seeing, but too expensive for the short amount of time you spend in there. Included in the price is a drink served in an ice glass. The non-alcoholic mojito did not taste good, so I recommend choosing a normal soda instead (since you cannot buy the ticket without a drink).
MoreVery cool lactation, the bar is - 6 °C and the whole fornitures are made of ice. There are statues, a slide, some attractions, all made of ice! The cocktails cups too are from ice, so you dont need ice cubes! Staff was very kind, and they tried to settle the best discount for us (we were a group of ten). They give you warm cloaks to cover yourself up and some thin gloves too. Once you are in, take your time! Allow at least one hour to stay there!
MoreThe experience was very interesting. The place is well made, with all kinds of ice sculptures and ice figurines and all kind of stuff. The temperature is not very low, around -6 degrees Celsius, but it feels a heck lot colder. You shoud be well prepared for going in. With a lot of surprises and a good drink at the end, its definitely a place you should not miss if you visit the city.
MoreSuperb attraction. Lots of magical ice sculptures ranging from frescoes to full size models. There is even an ice boat complete with two sailors. Nice complementary drink and to finish it off have fun on the ice slide and have your picture on the ice throne on the way out. Well worth a visit.
MorePlace Is definitely worth of visiting. There is nothing exceptionally spectacular except the atmosphere on -4°C and games of light and ice in combination with background music.Considering that you don’t have much options in the city, this is good choice to spend some time and enjoy drink included in price in ice glasses.Anyhow, good spent money and time.
MoreIf you travel to Norways Lofoten Islands, one of your destinations has to be Magic Ice in the town of Svolvær. Theres really nothing quite like it. There is an admission price of around $20 USD, which includes one alcoholic drink and you have the option of purchasing an admission package that includes additional drinks. You can stay inside as long as you like (20 degrees Fahrenheitand they provide large parkas and gloves so you dont have to bring your own in the summertime. The drinks are served in a glass that contains an insert made of ice so it keeps it very cold. The bar is down in the Southeast corner of the town back by the channel out to the harbor so its a little tricky to find. There are a variety of souvenirs in the shop once you come out of the bar. The staff is very friendly and gives you a history of the bar and will gladly answer any questions. Our group really enjoyed visiting Magic Ice!
MoreWorth it!! The place was above my expectation. The sculptures were well made and kept to the norwegian style. Personaly i liked the sculpture of Odin and Freya.
MoreIt is an interesting concept. The exhibit is rather small, taking maybe 15 or 20 minutes to casually see it all.
MoreFreezy experience all the way. Enjoy wine in ice glass and enjoy the icy creation around.
MoreI liked the sculpture on ice and everything that was inside of the ice until the drinking cups in the bar
MoreThe talent that went in to creating the ice sculptures is absolutely amazing. Combined with the lighting for them, this made for a wonderful experience when we visited in 2013. However, on returning in 2018, unfortunately the place looked like it needed a little love. A lot of the sculptures had become worn and lost their definition. It was a real shame considering how impressive it used to be. This is still probably worth one visit, but if youve been before it might be better to keep the memories as they were!
MoreInteresting experience, some really nice sculptures but they looked a bit old and worn and left some supporting structures exposed. We werent offered ponchos. Loved the welcome drink tho.
MoreFreezing place with -6 °C - altough in winter its warmer inside then outside. Put warm clothes on - altough they provide some (I guess for free). Beautfiul, nice and astonishing ice sculptures with led lights and a high grade of detail. Recommended espescially for amazing pictures.
MoreMagic ice Lofoten is definately a must try experience with entire world handcarved out of pure ice! Magicly nice and amazing sculptures and drinks in the ice glass!❄🐧😻
MoreAwesome place!! If you are on a Hurtigruten Ship, this is a must!! Hand carved sculptures are amazing and staff is friendly. A little pricey to get in but you get one free drink!
MoreThis place is undeniably fun but I also consider it rather overpriced and the artistic content of the ice carvings is fairly low. Many of them look to have been in place for a long time and as such much of the detail has melted/broken such as the mermaids arm in my picture which is severely withered.
MoreGood value experience on a short stop from the Hurtigruten ship.....could be better signposted as its in a dockside warehouse!
