Longtime Irish bar pouring pints, showing soccer matches & staging performances by cover bands.
Great atmosphere! Reasonable prices!
Had a few pints of Guinness here. The have the football on. Good spot for sports. Guinness was ok.
Good service fantastic music on weekends.
Fun late night spot! Great local bands ! Got to see the band LIBBA rock the house! 5 out of 5 stars for this North Beach hangout
Nice to site at the outdoor table and experience the neighborhood.
Really nice spot and friendly staff! Great spot for Arsenal fans! Go Gooners!
The service was very rud because we were foreigns.. We ordered three beers and when we tried to pay with my debit card they asked me for my PIN code (private code of the credit cardbecause they weren’t able to bring the TPV to me, and in that way I should have to make a withdrawal in their ATM cashier. After that the waitress became even rudder with me when I paid for the beers. And enerything was because I was a foreign. I really not recommend this place it’s awful. Finally we leave and we didn’t drink the beers.
Nice pub and friendly staff 👍🍻
I did come here due to the good reviews but i was unable to enter the bar because the security guy could not read the birth date on my Romanian id card to validate my age even after i did explain where was my date of birth placed. The bad thing was that my friends had already buy the beers by the time the security guy consulted with the barman about my id, and he didnt even let me sit outside with my friends after i told him that I wont drink any beer and that i only want to sit until my friends finish the beer. In conclusion the security guy was narrow minded and he should be able to read some basic dates on ids.
Great time in Maggys, the red haired lady serving us was very welcoming. Would recommend anyone to pop in for a visit as its a great vibe to be in.
Was a fun pub to practice darts a n.v d listen to kg karaoke
Thanks to Mick Mairead and Claire for looking after us so well last week. Couldn’t recommend Maggies highly enough for sport and a great bit of craic. Mick even sorted the basketball tickets for us.Cheers to you all and see you next year.Paul Ian and Dave
Erica is awesome. Karaoke was great the host was great and good voices went up there.
If you want to have the whole soccer experience when watching a game, or you simply want a good drink, go there. Great place.
Love this bar, amazing staff, great drinks, great outdoor seating area. Whats not to love, also show EPL matches.
Awesome venue for live music in the heart of North Beach! Always crackin on the weekends. Stellar cover bands. And they know how to pour a great Guinness!
Maggie’s is the place to be! They are the most welcoming, and show all the football matches at any time of day.P.S. Come check out the band on Tuesday nights. We love you Bourbon Jam!
When you are an Arsenal fan living in San Francisco, Maggie Mcgarrys is your home.Even as early as 7 am, Maggies receiving us with open arms to watch our favorite team.
Random birthday party concert after stopping in just to praise the owner for having soccer on the tele.
Great neighborhood bar with outstanding people. Just the place you always wanted to find but didnt believe actually existed. It does!
Sat at the sidewalk seats and caught some of the Euro game. They had the TV turned towards the sidewalk for convenience! Beer was good on the hot afternoon. Bummer was that my daughter was not allowed on pub property because she is underage even as we were outside.
Popular with tourists and outdoor is nice for those fearing the Govid virus ok for a quick drink on a city crawl but the dive bars and hi end bars are better and this is neither really so those wanting a mid range bar its a good choice.
Like going for live music nights. There bands always played fun 80’s tunes. Prices weren’t too bad for the area. And the bartenders were always attentive and nice.
A favorite local place. The de facto Arsenal pub in SF as it often opens early for the games. Now they have two screens facing outwards which is great for sitting outside and watching sport. Always friendly.
Cant blame a person for their soccer allegiances (my friend goes here for arsenal games; man city fans also frequent the spotand ownership is as genuine and inviting as they come.
Maggie Mcgarrys is an awesome location; great staff, live music, and a highly diverse crowd. One of the best nights I had bouncing in a long time. Looking forward to many more...
It was okay, not too pricy
Just like the bar tender stated. A typical dive bar. Its very chill, good pours, the atmosphere was pleasant. Plenty of room for seating, lighting was dim but just right for the mood. If Im ever in the area again, I would definitely stop by again.
Five stars for Arsenal fans. Maybe four stars for the rest. My favorite place in SF to watch football matches. Great service, fun crowd. Be forewarned that they dont serve food and you cant use a credit card for tabs under $20.
They had a young band playing. Didnt understand a word. Still fun place.
Just came in to check out the place as I’ve been here several times before. Bartender was a bit aggressive and made me feel like an outsider. Would recommend the bar next store Tupelo. Much friendlier staff and great music.
If you need to watch proper football (soccer 😋this place fits the bill. We watch the FA Cup final gear and there was a big group of Man City fans which made for a good atmosphere
I can honestly tell you this is as authentic Irish pub as I have ever seen. Love the bar tenders accent. Had me a Guinness.
Amazing place. During the week its the neighborhood living room, on the weekend its packed, thanks to the great live music.Special shout-out to Kathy, Jenny and Tristan who are outstanding hosts! Thanks for making me feel welcome like I lived here all my life. Love you!
I didnt appreciate the cover, where only men had to pay to get in. Seems a little old fashioned if you ask me.The place was crazy packed, there was a DJ in a room we couldnt get to. So we stayed by the bar and got leaned on by giant drunks. Definitely not my scene, but hey, the Irish coffee was good.
Typical old bar in North Beach. $10 debit/credit minimum which means at least 2 drinks. They have a second room with a stage for music and comedy, but the seating sucks for comedy.
Nice place to sit down to relax and enjoy a glass of drink
Stopped by after Vesuvio for some live music by a local band. Fun crowd, stiff drinks, good music. What else can you ask for. Open till late on a Sat night.
This place is so much fun!! We found this place during Santacon one year and we had such a good time that now every year we make sure we make it back to party here. The staff here is awesome even with so many people and as packed as it can get they still have good attitudes and take care if the customers right. It is a split building club with two bars, a live DJ, dance floor, some tables to hang out and have your drinks. Just all in all a fun spot to be when we head to the city for different events.
Final Libertadores soccer championship, decided to watch the game here. After first half owner decides to remove the audio from the section of the bar where the game is being shown as "It is an english-speaking bar and the game comments are in spanish". Most of the people at this time (Sunday noonare soccer fans trying to watch this game. Imagine being a sports fan and this happening to you.
Went in on a Saturday night, wasnt crowded at all. The bouncer carded my girlfriend and as a group of maybe 4 women were coming out, he rudely asked her to get out of the way without giving her back her ID (were at the age carding shouldnt take longer than 1 second). She asked for the card and he held it out without letting up his grip, not letting her get it back. We moved out of the way letting people out, and she let me know that so far this bar wasnt looking great. The bartender refused to give her back her Id, saying that if she didnt like it she could go somewhere else. She went in to the bar, and obviously all of a sudden the bouncer let me know that I couldnt go in with my backpack (people were inside with their bags/packs). My gf was at the bar, and I stood outside. He then told me I was trespassing and needed to stand on the sidewalk.I stood there, asking once if this was necessary and he waved to the bartender asking him to kick her out because she had a "bad attitude". She was kicked out, we asked why and got complete bs (I already told you / you heard me). I wanted to take a picture of this place and was threatened by the large bartender with a black beard. So in summary this place was trash. If youre a woman that doesnt kiss their asses the second theyre being rude they will use their small amount of power to harass anyone they feel doesnt give the bouncer or bartender the proper deference. Day before my birthday too. Pissed us off the rest of the night. Go to any other nicer Irish or Italian or any bar near here - empty for a reason.
Excellant time!!!! Great live music Fridays and Saturdays, no cover charge too!!!! And that brunette Irish Bartender she is amazing her husband has to be the luckiest guy on earth!!!
When the walls open, then the bar comes to life. What an experience! We had a simple drink and then it happened. A live band appeared behind us and people flooded in. It was absolutely wonderful and magical. Go. Have fun and be mystified if you are lucky enough for the walls to open. :(literally the back wall is a false wall and opens up to a live band on Saturdays. Its awesome)
This is consistently a fun bar to visit and give your liver some exercise. They have live music pretty often. Its located in a very entertaining neighborhood and has lots of great food nearby. The staff is always friendly and professional. I always swing be when Im around to see what going on.
Long waiting time starting at 7PM, food is good, pork buns were superbs and garlic noodle alright. Service was good although a bit on the rush considering there was a lot of people down there. Recommended if you want a fancy noodle place in SF.
The bartender had us kicked out bc she claims we walked away from her when she asked us if we wanted a drink. The music was very loud and we didnt hear her. We left our seats at the bar since Im PREGNANT and not able to drink so she could have more customers. Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. I cant believe how awful she was to us for no reason.
Bartender was trying to be cool in front of her friends at the bar and denied me service saying my ID was fake. I have a NYS ID so she asked me what my sign was. Don’t believe in signs so I don’t know my sign and told me to leave and continued on with her friends acting like a hot shot. Will not be bringing my business back to this bar and was planning on coming here for the World Cup games. “Have a goodnight sweetie”
Popped into this bar to have a couple of drinks after having some pizza at the awesome Golden Boy Pizza just around the corner. It was quite quiet up until one guy rolled up very drunk, but it didnt ruin the vibe as we were finishing up and about to go anyway. Good selection of drinks and friendly staff.
Nice Irish dive in the heart of North Beach, lively atmosphere and cold beers served by friendly staff. Can get busy, especially during happy hours. Good pricing and good beer selections.
I go here regularly to watch Arsenal games. Big hub for the San Francisco Arsenal Supporters Club, so you can expect at least a few other fellow Gooners there to watch the Arsenal matches with. Great experience overall.
