329 Fulham Rd, Chelsea, London SW10 9QL, Marau
Colourful 1980s-themed nightclub with Rubik's Cube tables, retro dance music and Iron Lady pictures.
Insulting female security guards that make you feel uncomfortable.
High entry cost for not much. Very drab and dated. Crazy drinks prices too. Would go elsewhere
The urinals were, in fact, not themed around the gravestone of Thatcher. Come on
I don’t know where to start with this massively over-priced dive!To start off with myself and two female companions had our I.D’s took away out of sight for a least 5 minutes as we queued to get in before the doorman came over and charged us £20 each for “cover charge on entry” then gave us our I.D’s back?My partner called 3 times prior to our visit to get a table but apparently they don’t take booking it’s first come first served (fairhowever we were the second group in and low and behold all the seating areas had been “pre-reserved” with over the top staff stood around staring at you trying to dictate where you couldn’t sit and stand (hilarious)Got to the bar and the bartender didn’t have a clue on how to make their “signature” cocktails and constantly reverted to the menu, took him around 20 boring minutes to make us 3 cocktails in dirty ceramic pots overflowing with ice and I couldn’t even taste the spirit in mine…£20 cocktail!? Give over fooling.Dj was pointless too and was just playing modern remixes of 80s jams and classics.Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had in a nightclub and would recommend anyone to avoid this place!
Awesome place and if you enjoy 80 and 90s groove with a twist and simply a fun place to enjoy drinks, music, dancing and ambiance ... then Maggies should be your first choice!Q
Great staff and great music - highly recommend it
This club has made my year!! 3 of my school friends and I are all 80s children & We haven’t been to a club for over 10 years. I am a huge fan of the 80’s music (and theme), I was slightly apprehensive what this club will deliver. Can honestly say, super staff at the door who even helped me to get a cab at 2 am and made sure I was safe.the theme is just so back to my old days, music and people and atmosphere left me feeling high and a greatest night out. I will be back 😀
Took 90 mins to get in , very overcrowded and incredibly expensive drinks £44 for 3 glasses of wine. Wasn’t worth the bother ,disappointing. Also not all music was from 80s .
took a 50 pound taxi to get there then was refused entry because i was only one person. never said anything about this stupid policy on their website
This place is an absolute fraud and the arrogance that sits behind it is even worse. They are openly racist - when I told the bouncer they were racially profiling, his response was “yes and what will you do about it.” I couldn’t get her name, but there is a blonde door lady who condones this openly without any shame either. I’m not sure this will make a difference but if you have any inch of morality, do not spend a cent at this place. There are plenty of other, more fun and more welcoming places in Fulham. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS PLACE. The only way they will ever learn is to be out of jobs.
Not worth it.Overcrowded - tiny space. Even more so than other clubs in London. Wouldn’t mind it if it wasn’t for:Overpriced entry (£20pp, and you STILL need to pay for cloakroom)Overpriced drinks (£15)Long queues as you watch members get priority (which is fair for their business model)Music good if you like 80s vibes but that’s the only potential positive
No wonder why is one of the TOP CLUBS in London1st Welcoming on the door from arriving to getting to the dance floor from bouncers and smiling, happy and incredibly LOVELY hostess on the door.2nd Waitress and bartenders very happy to help choose the right cocktails and champagne or any other drinks.3th And finally Music is absolutely banging hit after hit after hit and cannot recommend this place enough.Do not read the bad reviews a bet 💯 is a from very rude inpatient ppl that doesn’t want to understand how busy they actually are and all they have to do is ask your question and give them a bit of a time to get back to you with the right answer.Last and very important advice for you guys that never been there is BRING YOUR ACTUAL ID with you to get inside.Unfortunately one of my very good friend didn’t bring his one and get refused, but rules are rules. Thanks for one of the best experience we got in clubbing guys.😎😎
Really nice place, absolutely loved the vibe here! Staff were really friendly and overall found the crowd to be nice. Its clear they have a dress code and a lot of people seem to get angry at the door and offended when confronted with that but i found them quite polite in how they handled it and very clear about what the code was. Had a woman named Sid help us who was beyond patient despite us being us. Highly recommend!
Always go there - had guests visiting and this was the experience:arrived at 10.30PM and the que was EMPTY- We were a group of 5 guys and 1 girl- hostess at the door (wearing redtold us that its ONLY table booking and there are two table available, for 1,000 and 1,500- my guests said no thank you- I asked the hostess, why did she genuinely not let us in? Is it because were mostly guys?- she said no, it is the way you are dressed, sorryBear in mind - we had just come from a meeting, and were all wearing, jeans, semi formal shoes, shirts and suede or leather jackets. This is unacceptable and not OK to treat people like that.Love the music there, but clearly they have some attitude.
Cons:Hearing impaired not welcome at bar!?£20 entry£14 Drinks 😱No music recommendations?Millie at the door is a total Tuesday! You will que for minimum of an Hour, Doesnt matter if you pre-booked.Pros:Looks nice...
To add to all the other 1 start reviews (which I wish I had read before going here). If youre from out of town and looking for a good night DO NOT go here!! This is a social club for the trust fund babies of Chelsea only!Massively overpriced entry (£20 per person)Tatty/dated decorRude/Aggressive bouncersMassively overpriced drinks (£15 for every drink)DJ playing some absolute rubbishWeird rules about where you can standConstantly pushed/moved around by bouncers and staffDont mind paying for a quality experience (as we did elsewhere in London that weekend), but this place in massively overrated!! AVOID!
Came here over the weekend with some friends. Came after 11:30 and the wait was rather long. £20 on the door because apparently its a members club. Once inside it was very fun and worth the wait. Im a big fan of the 80s and this club didnt disappoint. Had some bants with the bar staff and left at 3ish. One star less because long wait and on the expensive side.
I just happen to be checking the website to show my friend the club I visited this weekend and saw and recent review I feel a need to comment on. Three reviews clearly from the same group regarding the blonde bouncer at the front door; I was stood behind these girls and saw them stand in the road, stop traffic, and hurl abuse at drivers refusing to move on their way to the club. The bouncers, clearly concerned for their safely, kindly escorted them off the road. The girls then become very rude toward the poor man. While in the queue, one of the girls told the blonde bouncer she didnt have ID. The girl at the door politely explained to them she wouldnt be allowed entry mentioning their licensing issue (something they are strict on). They decided to stay in the queue anyway, then were extremely rude to the girl when she repeated herself in a kind and professional manner once they were at the front. I feel the need to back up the staff here, who remained nothing but professional and calm while enduring a great deal of abuse from the a group of bullying girls, who refused to leave. They gave the poor girl, who was only doing her job, a very hard time. Ive been to this club many times. The girls on the door have only every been kind, funny at times, and always accommodating. I once forgot my ID and the girl said if I got a taxi to get it, she would comp my entry - which she did. Ive seen them endure abuse a few times, and it standardly comes from disgruntled customers who have forgotten their ID, are too drunk to enter or clearly arent dressed appropriately. Its a shame people feel the need to leave bad reviews out of pure pettiness.
I used to love this place, but now there is an extremely arrogant and rude lady at the door. Was turned away from the club because of my ”outfit”. I was wearing a collar shirt but apparently should have worn a white shirt instead of a blue one. Extemely disappointed how this club has become.
This place is a 1 star with the attitude of a 5 star. The bouncers are unnecessarily rude. Their “rules” are nonsensical and meant to exclude others. The blond female bouncer up front is drunk on power from opening and closing the velvet rope. I wouldn’t spent a pound to support this place!
This place is garbage. They get off like treating you like trash. They not only made up lies, but started to insult a friends appearance. Because she was jaywalking, they told her she wouldn’t get in and waited for her to be in the full line to say she shouldn’t get in. Bald man called her ugly. They told us when we got there it would be 45 min wait and we needed to prepare to pay all on one card. Knowing it was for image, 10 minutes later we were at the front. Joke.Didn’t want to go there. Never will go again. Rude blond at the front was a nightmare.
What a perfect club. Great venue and if you love the 80s then this is THE place to go. Never stopped dancing all night. The guys there were excellent. Thanks for a top top night.
NYE night 🌙 it was supposed to be super fun.I am going to try to be brief but I dont know if I can.The club is very small but it still living its glorious life from somewhere in the past, maybe from Tatchers era. I dont believe but who am I to doubt? The bouncers some are nice but some are very ostensive and they want to show it. Not nice for a small place where sometimes you feel surrounded by grumpy bouncers. The girl in the bar and her boyfriend or friend are so rude. I went to buy a Red Bull she wanted me to buy a double super overpriced vodka. I said no and she gave me the Red Bull and said its only 6 pounds. Clearly she must be commissioned and she is trying to sell something. Poor girl.Party was supposed to finish after 4am but because people stopped to drink they closed at 3 am on NYE.If you wanna have fun please dont bother, it doesnt worth.
Massively over priced, terrible decor, shoddy drinks, Basic music with no DJ. Would not recommend, would not go back. If your super basic with no imagination, then the idea of a "premier" 80s club might be something to revolve your boring night around.
Absolutely love this place always come back here for the good vibes and music. Went for my birthday this time and the staff took amazing care of us. It’s an intimate electric club and the energy in here is fantastic with loud banging tunes and both staff and customers enjoying themselves. Will be returning next week for sure ;)
BEST CLUB IN LONDON!!! I had so much fun when I came last Friday. It was the first time out after the whole pandemic situation and I was a bit sceptical but no regrets whatsoever! I’m definitely coming back! Everything was perfect, from the welcoming host to the impeccable service and the fantastic music. Thank you Maggie’s team for making my return to clubbing life so enjoyable🥰
Spent over £500 last night. The staff accused one of us of throwing up (never happened). Shortly after kicking one of us out, they then cleared all remaining alcohol from our table and there was lots left. It felt like once they had our money they was employing any tactic to get us out. Really disappointing...
A relatively small place which got really busy, but the 80s tunes did make our night. There was some confusion on the door (hence why only 4startsas Im clearly over 18, but I still had to present my ID that I didt have on me. I was told by the lady on the door that Id get in without queuing & for free of charge if I went home for my ID, which was a nice touch of her.
Turned up at 10:45 on Friday 13th, myself & a group of 6 friends, two of which weren’t drinking as they were driving were turned away purely because of the fact we were 6 males. The lady on the door explained to have 6 males you have to book in advance. However behind us in the queue were a group of 5 ladies who got in straight away. This is modern day discrimination. We didn’t cause a scene & left the queue & enjoyed a good night in the Kings Arms. I would strongly avoid this place if you wanted to be discriminated purely because of your gender.
One of the worst clubs I have been in London...the worst music ever and overpriced drinks! Not to mention we were still charged £20 entry @1am when its closing at 3:30!...we queued for almost 1hr!!!! Please watch out for the bill when it comes to pay! We have no idea how the bartender calculated it but its a total joke. He was giving free drinks to a group of girls though... What a gentleman 👍There were group of 3-4 girls inside and they were bored to death, they asked me about other clubs they could go to. It was a total waste of a night.
Super expensive and overpriced club for what is inside! Queued for over an hour just to listen for the worst music ever, comparing to what location the club is, this place is absolutely not worth the money. And the place is extremely small.
Great place and great vibe - most of the people I know who moved to London at the same time as me would agree and we’ve lost track of how many times we’ve been there! Very Swede friendly. Everyone I’ve interacted with is approachable and accommodating, top team! Millie’s a star!
Another amazing night as usual at Maggies. The music was everything we hoped for and the ambience was just perfect. The staff was great especially Millie who welcomed us at the door. She was fantastic and very friendly. Will be back soon!
Best night out in London so far. Fantastic place but what really makes the difference is the DJ. Hernan really can makes everyone dance like crazy. Looking forward to get back for another amazing night
I was visiting London from NYC with my girlfriends and a friend recommended Maggies for a fun night out. We really enjoyed our night at this club. Great tunes, amazing ambience and even though it was packed, it felt safe. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Nikos one of the bartenders. He made our night so much fun, he was a superstar! Looking forward to going back when I visit London again!
We had such an amazing time - great music, we danced all night! Only slight criticism was that we booked a table for 10 and were given a teeny table that would have fitted about 3 round it. They did sort it out though, and the staff were really helpful. I suspect well be back again sometime!
Went to Maggies last night with a friend from Norway - havent been here for over 5 years and it was just as brilliant as always. Great music and great atmosphere. We had an amazing night.
One of my all-time fav places in London – an awesome dance club where people have really fun times. Great team, always excellent (incl. 80smusic and really really good drinks! Highly recommended!
Great hidden gem! Nice people, really good music and phenomenal service. Went on a Thursday night and it was full. Really had a lot of fun. Thank you Katie and Greg for being so accommodating!Bring ID!! I thought I didn’t have one that night and would have ruined everything.
Poor. Very poor!! this was not the one!! Got invited by a member, in a group with a table booked, didnt have ID on me and I was resourceful enough to produce a copy of my passport on my phone. This process Ive done before and it hadnt been a problem even at Maggies.. This is poor for me. And welldone to your customer service or whatever on the door as not only have a poor review, youve also got an upset member to deal with. Great job!
Went to Maggies for a staff party, found all the staff incredibly rude and the security staff were just obnoxious. Some of our group were perhaps too intoxicated, however there was no bad behaviour and we were treated, on the whole, poorly and unprofessionally. Additionally, the bar staff were rude and unhelpful and were certainly overcharging. I would not recommend this place for private hire; poor service and ever poorer attitude.
I absolutely love Maggies, now Im my 30s I dont particularly enjoy clubs. But Maggies is perfect for me, GREAT music, fun vibe, lovely staff. My favourite local, where I always leave with a smile after having such a fun night. The manager Kate is always personable and lovely too a true gem at the venue.I actually had a incident there with a not very nice guy, and she saw it happen and dealt witht it straight away. Simple above and beyond care and service.Thank you again to everyone in Maggies for this, and for always providing a fun night 😄🕺🎉
This place is a disgrace. If you think it is for people who want to spend well, completely avoid. Queue’s for a drink prove to be a long wait and the drinks have extortionate prices. Bouncers are extremely rude and the reception is even worse. Spare yourself the time and money and go elsewhere. It’s run by deluded management who think this venue is actually worth the money they charge. Clearly not a single one of them have a clue how to run a decent establishment. The choice of drinks are very limited and the venue is small, poorly decorated and not very sophisticated. For the prices they charge, you would think it’s a high end venue in London! honestly, laughable. It’s like a 16 year olds disco. If you want a good night, spend it in a pub with a good selection of drink and a decent crowd. I quote “60 people turned up and we realised we were busy”. Do not end or start your night here because you will definitely regret it. Ignore the “5*” reviews, they are also laughable and clearly written by illiterate management or friends of the establishment. I hope the owner will actually take some of the comments (and other genuine reviewson board and realise that it has a terrible rating for a reason. Ignoring such feedback further proves their incompetence. Our party of 18 and I will not be visiting again. Build a decent reputation before you charge extortionate prices. Absolute farce.
This place is alright. Its no Bondai but they try.Theres a few attitudes in here and they would do we to drop it and make customers feel welcome and included.Cocktails are average at best. Me negroni was by far the worst Ive ever had. At the price point you would think they hired experienced bartenders.Gimmick venue and if you want a late one locally then its going to meet you needs. There are better places. For example. If cocktails are you thing. Pop next door to the goat in boots and go upstairs. Your money is far better spent there.
Small place. Got crowded fast, no place to dance. Beer? Just 1 type Japanese canned. I refuse to consume Japanese products (due to radiation). When I asked why just 1 type beer? "This is a club!" I assume beer drinkers not welcomed. We took off before someone stepped on us. And it was not even 11:30. Never again! Music also sucked....
It was great place !! All staff are very friendly and kind. Many people were enjoying music and drinking with 80s deco. It was very good atmosphere because music is 80s selection , not too young which is for all . so we can enjoy dancing with some one inside club which is nice !!Also Manager was very attentive. so it is very safe and comfortable .We could enjoyed a lot !!It was great night for us !! We will come back 200% !! See you soon!!
Amazing place and music. The only thing is the capacity (180 people), all you meed to do is arrive early. We went there for opening (22:30on Friday and an amazing night. Staff is very friendly. If you see the crowd and space downstairs at midnight or one ocloxk you will underatand why you get refused entry or queue ages. Entry cost £20 (cash only). Drinks/cocktails coat £15/£20(cash or card).Ask for the cocktail in Rubiks cube, amazing looking glass and drink.
What an absolutely amazing club!! The staff couldnt have been more helpful. My friend and I arrived without our ID and that was not a problem for the staff at Maggies! Their exceptional chauffer, Hassan, kindly drove us both to our flats in nearby Chelsea to pick up our passports. The 80s theme is the best ever, great cocktails and a superb crowd! Will definitely be going back! :)
I think this place is one of the best 80s club what Ive ever seen. The atmosphere and how is looks like is totally amazed me. Even if its a little bit crowded I had one of my best experience. The coolest thing was the fancy, awesome drinks with those special glasses and names. Im sure thats totally unique. Also the bar staff is nice and professional. I got a "time travelling" experience with all my favourite moments from 80s. Keep going guys!!!
What an atrocious "members" club. The worst club I have been to for as long as I can remember. Speaking as a local resident, there are FAR better places to go close-by.Having queued for a very long time, we were greeted with rude, pretentious and arrogant door staff. We were eventually allowed downstairs, paid £20 each to enter, then queued AGAIN to check-in out jackets. Finally we entered the main (and onlydance floor/bar. It was tiny, hot, smelly and sweaty (I could see why they insisted we check our coats). After fighting our way through the over-crowded, dank, stinky little room, we made it to the bar. We then purchasing drinks which cost 2 or 3 times over what I would expect to pay at the better clubs in Chelsea, we promptly left. We were inside the "members" club for less than half the time we were outside it.If you love queuing and small spaces, enjoy the smell of other peoples body odour and prefer to pay triple for your drinks, this is the place for you. If not, AVOID at all costs. Look at other review sites too.
