Maffra Visitor Information Centre in Sale

Advertised as open all school holidays but was closed when we arrived. Our daughter is an avid collector of crystals and minerals. We made a special trip to see the collection housed here.Very disappointing. The contact information on the door was also incorrect. The number connected to a rescue centre in Sydney

Dates and times advertised indicated that it would be open when I visited. However, was closed. Hence, negative review.

A great information point for the local area. The gentleman running the place was extremely helpful. Our kids loved the gemstone collection.

FRENCHs PARK is the local Rest/Camp Area thats located in Johnson Street. There are no toilets on site but plenty of room and a grassy area for all to enjoy. Theres a large sign at the front of the Park showing where to access entry and where to camp. A nice, safe little place to stop for a night or two.

Plenty of information gem display exciting and informative

Worth a visit if youre in town. They have a pretty neat little collection of gemstones from all over the world, which is free to view. The volunteer we spoke to was a lovely lady who was more than happy to point us in the right direction.

Beautiful place to visit

Brilliant and what a collection of gemstones and all sorts of rocks collected throughout the years. A must see and wonderful volunteer staff at reception. Highly recommend.

Nice happy town. I was expecting it to be a lot smaller. The info centre is in the old court house which is worth a look regardless wether you need any town info or not. The volunteers were more than happy to help and had lots of information about the town and the entire district.
