Maeldune Centre in Witham

We visited during heritage week, parts that are not usually open to the public were. It was very interesting. Staff were very friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. All in all a very fascinating visit.

This is fascinating; the downstairs of a redundant church, commemorating the Battle of Maldon in 991.

Excellent ground breaking Exhibition

Formerly St Peters church, then a school and library from the 1600s and 1700s. Now used as a cultural centre. The original Medieval church tower still stands

Amazing opportunity to see maldon embroidery, fabulous local crafts, knowledgeable staff and all for free!

This is an incredibly important space for Maldon. Recently revamped to a high standard it is an excellent showcase for artists/makers and designers in the region. Highlighting the Maldon Embroidery by Humphrey Spender as a permanent showpiece, the gallery revolves around carefully selected exhibitions and offers quality gifts and cards in the shop. This is one of the best venues in the area and not to be missed!
