Madre Park - Park in Azogues, Ecuador
Very nice park for kids and adultsThey also have a nice planetarium
Free wifi, grand kids love it. Dead trees given new life as art.
Loved it there. Very clean, lits of benches to sit down, public washrooms located in strategic areas, several restaurants surrounding the park and beautiful nature to enjoy. Good amenities with a paved courtyard to play on
Good place to relax and let the kids play.
As a tourist I was very pleased with the park. It was clean, quite and the equipment was nicely kept. There were vendors selling ice cream, slushy and some sort of cream on an ice cream cone. The kids seemed to be having a good time and it also felt safe.
Very nice park!
Some of the beauty in my world.
Clean, safe, fun place to let your kids run around. Or just try and feed the pigeons
Its a beautiful place to spend some hours reading under the trees, training, running or having fun with the kids.
Nice place to chill with friends. Also Security staff is here to feel more safe.
Its huge! So much space to play, my kids loved the wooden bridges, slides and swings. Perfect to spend the morning and afternoon with the family.
Occasional free concerts, lots of families on the weekends. Nice outdoor walking and jogging track. 2022 update, no concerts since covid, but still a great place to exercise or spend time with the family. Always secure with guards patrolling. Bathrooms available, too.
A great and wide choice of athletic activities, especially Frisbee Friday starting at noon.
The most beautiful park to excercise and enjoy your free time. There are special corridors for jogging, cycling and walking.
Frisbee Friday is a great place to connect with other gringos with a non competitive game of frisbee.
Great park for kids with great coffee shops and restaurants close by.
Best place to spend a Sunday afternoon in cuenca. Grab a picnic meal and people watch all day in the shade of a tree sculpture
My favorite park in Cuenca. I go and see dogs having fun and chill. Its really pretty when the weather is good.
Lots of people exercising. Great running track. A few dogs playing.
Nice clean and safe you can enjoy it for free great place in the city
Is a excellent park to play and training exercises
Kids enjoyed it but I was singled out as my 120lbs were obviously too heavy for the swing... To sit not swing... While locals were ignored doing the same thing
Great park, very clean with lots of areas for kids to play. It also has a great running track if you are looking for somewhere to train
Great place for children looking for a fun playground as well as for their parents looking to work out.
Such a beautiful little park. Lots of things for kids to climb on and beautiful carves trees
Good outodoors place for children, very clean,. Some of the areas and excercise artifacts should be cared and give maintenance.
It’s a superb, wide open park with interesting wooden sculptures, nice park benches, lots of flowering shrubs and trees and broad expanses of lush green grass. There is a running track with slow and fast lanes clearly marked, a basketball court, exercise machines and lots of attractive climbing and play equipment for children. Fronting on the Tomebamba River and buttressed by a McDonalds on one side and several nice eateries, cafes and bakeries on the other side (not to mention a small scale observatory within the park boundariesit’s a park with something for everyone.
This is a large city Park close to El Centro. Theres lot of shopping and restaurants along side. And there is city parking under the park. There is a jogging track around the park. Most importantly, this is the site of Cuencas free planetarium!
Beautiful park! Walking track. Water fountains for drinking. Playground gyms. Free Zumba and aerobics classes. Benches for sitting. Hand carved woodeb statues. Many nearby restaurants.
Its a fine park, friends. There are beautiful people everywhere, big wooden sculptures all over the grounds, lots of well kept greenery, a track for trotting, a planetarium, and plenty of playstuff for the little ones, including a little zipline thing. However, I must stress with no small measure of ire that the playstuff is exclusively for the little ones. My dear companion and I were just having a wee swing on the swingset, but some lady copper came by straight away and told us them swings were just for tots. But there werent any tots there at all! What a bunch of malarkey. Just let me have a little swing with my lovely little lady!
Nice city park, I went on a wednesday night you can get a free zumba, dance or running class ! there is a lot of people working out. I felt super save! go and have a powerful workout with the nice view of cuenca´s rivers
It is called Parque de la Madre. I hate whdn Google Translate translates street names into another language. This is a great park with activities gor everyone. It has a running/walking track, a basketball court, lots of playgtound equipment, grass for futbol practice as well as a court, exercise equipment, morning and evening dance exercise classes snd a planetarium.
Fantastic Park. Free yoga on Saturdays at 0830. Theres exercise equipment that I use and Ive found it to be quite useful. Theres always something or the other going on at the park. A really interesting place to exercise... walk or Just relax and people watch. You can even make friends. People are so friendly.
Its a great place to do runnings and athletic sports , and its good if you have kids theres a lot of playgrounds and some kids game or if you have any pet they can play around
Very nice city park with large stairs carved out of wood, benches and lots of shade. This used to be a hang out for undesirables, but now there are people of all ages, people walking their dogs, young adults and families. A few guards keep any riff raff out. Bonus, its right next to a planetarium!
Whats not to love!!!!! Planetarium needs 10 people and an hour notice to warm the equipment. Otherwise the show is not good! Secure fun and convenient too.
Parque de la Madre is just down the escalinatas and across the Tomebamba river from El Centro. You will often find group activities or groups of families in activities in Parque de la Madre. Wood sculptures, made from existing dead trees, are quite unique and beautiful. Worth a stroll.
The good...always something going on in the park. Interesting sculptures, a track, exercise equipment, small planetarium. Several bakeries and cafes, helado shop, and a McDonalds. The bad...if your accommodations are on the park, if can be noisy, especially on holidays or during elections.
Beautiful, police presence, great equipment.
Beautiful park and play area for Children. Also it has a running track and outdoor exercise equipment. If you want a great coffee while you sit and enjoy the park check out Sinfonía café just south of the park .
My kids just love this park 👦👧🐕
A very pleasant, quiet park, good for running or biking. It has a basketball court, playgrounds, a planetarium and bathrooms (clean, but without toilet paper).
Great open park perfect to relax exercise an even with your dog , ride bikes and have a great time with the all family. It has courts of baskets parking lot , also an awesome astronomy spot
Wonderful family place day or night. Lots of people exercising and they have zumba some evenings. Families with children or adults it felt very happy. Many bus routs pick up o. Either side of the park.
Nice little park that has fun stuff for kids and a nice track for running. WiFi was pretty decent too. The planetarium looked kinda neat too. It appeared that one some nights they do some kind of organized dance exercise class here.
There are a lot of things you can do here safely....soccer, basketball, walking, jogging, sitting. Its kid and geezer friendly, safe, clean, easy to access and close to restaurants and public transportation.
Fantastic park to take your family for some outdoor activities. It has a well maintained running track. It has good public bathrooms and is safe.
Its a nice Park to make sport, there is a running/jogging/walking path, exercise machines, green space, a kid playground, a basketball field and it has a big parking, that allows you to leave your car and have a walk in the center of the city.
Good park for all ages, theres a track for running, and exercise equipment, along with large play area for kids. Theres also a planetarium there. The park is not far from El Centro, the downtown district of Cuenca.
El Parque de la Madre is an excellent spot to enjoy a any time of day. Depending on the weather of course, but that goes without saying for parks. It has a runnign track with three distinct lanes, for speed, long distance runner and walkers. It has a lot of green areas to sit and practice yoga, aerobics, kung fu, you name it. There are benches on the left side that can easily sit 50 people. It has some more benches on the front, smaller and more useful for young couples. It has a small basket court and football (not american football, the real one with the ball instead of the leather egg used by americans). it has some bars for stretching and doing pullups and tricep dips as well as a bench for doing crunches. It has some other bodyweight machines, similar to the ones in gyms meant to excercize your back and chest but uses your bodyweight. I always do at least 10 pull ups every time I pass by, as a ritual, i call it paying the toll. The tracks are roughly 500m long and they have their length written so you can calculate how long have you run based ont he number of laps you´ve taken. It has a digital clock along the tracks, telling the hour and also informs of the sun´s intensity level so you know what kind of sun block to use.Street vendors can be found on the peripheria, they sell ice cream, peanuts, bread and other candies, but they will never intrude or inconvenience you.It has everything you may need in order to enjoy a nice evening, Oh and it also has wooden sculptures carved from trees that used to grow int he park, they look beautiful and you can even sit in some of them like a throne and take pictures. Ah, and it also has children playgrounds and a zipline for those hypeactive kids looking for "extreme" activities, It is very low so even falling from it won´t hurt them, but it´s fast an can be fun to ride. This park deserves 5 stars.
