Decent portion size but i guess prices here is are catching up to the big cities as well!
The food is awesome everytime I go there I always make sure I stop by to get some food especially the rice
This is your authentic family friendly owned Africana style restaurant. I’ve been coming here since I was in college back in 2015. Still the same plate and Food style, you have options and choices so pick what you like and how spicy 🌶 you want it. My go to always will the rice 🍚 plate with goat 🐐 and fried fish 🐟. I loved and I’ll continue to do so when I get the chance when I’m back in fargo. It’s your local business so come and try it out for yourself.Respectfully
Medina Cuisine is great friendly family own business. I joy getting food highly recommended to try this restaurant. Call your to go order it will be ready 15 to 25 minutes depends your order.
**BE AWARE OF HOW MUCH BEING CHARGED**I’m sharing my experience for a great good purpose. If you want to try this place, I recommend asking them the “increased” price before you order. My experience: the owner charged me 30% extra without me knowing.• I ordered curry chicken ($13 on the menu-> charged 30% extra ($17 before tax.)I asked about it and she said food price has increased, which I was never informed beforehand in the first place. But I understood and paid it without complaining.Later, I found out how much my friend was charged.• my friend ordered chicken suqaar ($13and appetizer ($6-> charged 10% extra ($21)Both entrees have very similar ingredients/amounts, yet I got charged 30% more than the display price for one entree and the other person got charged 10% extra for one entree and an appetizer. They might charge you EXTRA whatever amount THEY WANT, so be aware of how much you are paying.FOOD TASTE: 4/10We both rated 4/10 for the food. We finished maybe 20% of the plate - not because we were full. We had no desire to keep eating it. I usually enjoy African cuisine, but not at this one. But it’s our opinion so you might enjoy the food here.HYGIENE:The bathroom did not look hygienic to me. Table&chairs looked clean. We didn’t get stomachache from the food.SERVICE:I liked the service while my friend didn’t. The owner seemed friendly.
Food is always good! You will never regret going to Madina, this place is amazing!
Food was amazing. We tried basmati rice with chicken. Intended on getting take out again but left the area. Do not be fooled by the venue which could be better. There is real talent hidden in this restaurant. My son absolutely loved the food....
BEWARE. My party of 3 visited the restaurant on July 28 and were given printed menus with prices listed. There was no other signage or price listing other than the menus. AFTER eating when I went to pay the bill, I was charged too much and I brought it to their attention. The 3 employees stated that the menu prices were wrong and that I really owed what they were charging me. They also acknowledged that they never warned us the menu prices were incorrect. They refused to honor the menu prices, and I paid the additional $9.00 they were demanding rather than get into an altercation. The food itself was average but for the beef ribs which were tough.
The food is excellent and affordably priced. Service was fantastic and I enjoyed everything they recommended.
The food at this place was awesome! Big portions and we loved the freshly made pita and sandwich wrap. The lamb was super tasty. Everything tasted fresh. However, they could work on atmosphere and renovate both outside and inside. Definitely could do better in that regard and why I had to take off 1 star. Will probably get takeout next time.
Such delish halal food the beef tips is my absolute favorite. We drove 2 hours just for it and it was 100% worth the drive. The service is excellent the food is amazing and I will absolutely be back.
The food was very good, huge portions, The worker, maybe the owner, was nice Id definitely go back.
Madinas Cuisine didnt disappoint! I ordered chicken sambusas & chicken suquaar. The spices are amazing - a little spicy if youre not used to it. Service was fast & the man behind the counter was friendly!
Just finished an incredible meal from this cozy Fargo restaurant. I was given generous portions of the curry chicken that exploded with a medley of flavors and spices, along with a heaping of rice and salad. I also tried three different desserts from there and they were all delicious! Im not sure what its called but the dessert that looks sort of like a candied onion ring was particularly remarkable. The service was extremely friendly and tailored for my experience.
Madina is a gift to the world, from her positive attitude to her phenomenal cooking, she is a treasure! We are looking forward to coming back for more great conversation and amazing food!
Wow. One word review: wow. Madina Cuisine is an East African restaurant in the heart of Fargo, North Dakota. Fargo?! Well, actually, North Dakota is home to many refugees from Somalia as well as other regions from Eastern Africa. One huge benefit of having more immigrants, is the amazing culture and the unbelievable food.I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who served me this delicious Somalian chicken curry. Rich in spices, warm to the palette and absolutely perfectly cooked chicken with rice. Her story is beautiful. Growing up she learned all of the family recipes and started cooking over here for neighbors and friends. Finally, after suggestions from literally everyone, she did. She followed her dream and makes the most amazing food. Hands down top-10 best things I’ve ever eaten.Fargo, you are lucky to have her; you’re lucky to have Madina Cuisine.
The Ethiopian food here is incredible. I got the veggie platter and it must be one of the best vegan meals I’ve ever had. Perfect example of a shining mom-and-pop place.
So good! The goat was cooked to perfection, the rice was flavorful and texture was perfect. So good! Definitely recommend checking them out. Great customer service, too.
Yo. I am full. Half a plate and I’m done. Never had injera before. But try it. I will try to come back the next time I’m in the area.
Bar none absolutely the best curry chicken I have ever had in my life. Every time I pass by Fargo I am always stopping by thank you for your good cooking Madina. Never disappointed or dissatisfied the food always taste fresh and zesty.
Be careful when you are using your credit card in this restaurant because they take more than you are suppose to.
Insanely delicious meals. Everything cooked here is properly home cooked.Hands down my favorite place to satisfy my taste buds. And Madina is the best!!
Madina is an excellent choice for food. Most dishes are $13 and portions are very generous, even for a fat man. Chicken curry and Chicken Suqaar are pictured here. Both are excellent and very similar. Curry has some spice to it and more gravy. Suqaar is more mild but very flavorful. Sambusa are like samosas and are the best Ive ever had. The owner is a sarcastic delite. Highly recommend.
Great delicious food Madina and great Customer Service
oh its very delicious food in here u better come and try its the best one in town for traditional and other too
Great food large portions and amazing chai! There’s so much to order from and no matter what our pick you will be happy. Taste very authentic and fresh ingredients for sure ! Also one of the only places i feel the goat taste very nice
Very friendly people and fabulous food. I had a chicken grill with rice and roasted goat meat cooked properly. Both were delicious and fresh. Somali tea was nice too.
The staff were very friendly and the environment was nice, but that food...that food was something else! It was a struggle for me to finish my plate, but that was only because of the large portion. 10/10 will go back to explore their entire menu!
I just found this restaurant by searching online. It was a really good place to eat food. Also nice staff of the place. Hope will go again.
Such a friendly environment! The food was absolutely amazing. Such unique flavors that are going to keep you coming back for more. Quick service and friendly faces! Overall was an amazing food experience for trying something new. Definitely recommend!!!
Food was great! The goat was delicious! Great customer service!
The family meal was such a great mix of flavors! Yummy beef stew, lightly fried fish and chicken. The best goat Ive had in years. Perfectly seasoned basamati rice and red and yellow lentals. A definite go again soon
The flavors were so delicious. We will be back again! Our hostess was very kind!
We ordered 4 entrees and veg sambusa. Everything was very delicious. The chicken suqaar and beef tibs were very tender and flavorful. The vegetables and lentils were well seasoned and filling. All the breads were very tasty. The portion sizes were generous and prices were very reasonable. Very happy to have Medina now be in our rotation of restaurants when we feel like ordering out.
Wow. I was lured in by the sound of the food, and will return after the amazing experience.I started with the beef sambusa, which was very good. The main dish - roasted goat with basmati rice - was not just great, it was phenomenal. As someone who has tried goat prepared hundreds of ways, this easily makes the top tier list. The goat was bone-in and cooked to tender perfection, and the basmati rice was seasoned so flavorfully that it makes you want to eat the entire (generousportion. Capped dessert with a tiramisu and chai. The service, food, and atmosphere reminds me of Eastern African places I’ve visited in the past - a feeling that captures the joys of sharing delicious food from across the world.
Delicious East African cuisine! We had the chicken curry, goat with rice, chicken chapati wrap, and baklava. My husband and I definitely recommend them for flavor, generous portions, and variety. All the meats were tender packed with flavorful rice. The baklava was perfectly flaky with honey goodness. Thank you Madina cuisine.
Amazing food. So much flavor. And the owners are very nice. The Sambusas probably the best I have ever had.
Chicken sukhara with beans....delicious as always and only spicy if you use the green sauce. ;-The staff and owner here are always so nice.
The foods was great in taste and portion. I like the was Mrs. Madina (restaurant ownerinteracted with us. She was humble, friendly, and very kind. I would recommend this restaurant, and don’t forget to order their desserts.
I had the vegetable platter as well as a Sambusa and it was truly amazing. Ive had a lot of Ethiopian food and this was among the best!
Drove by it 500 times before I finally stopped in...great food and big portions. If you like Indian food, youll likely like this, too. Would definitely recommend!
Overall very good food. Up until now I had not eaten goat, and never expected to either... But I tried it here as part of their House Platter and it was pretty good! If you arent sure of what to order and you have a couple friends, then order the house platter with the veggitarian plate.
Amazing food, be sure to try the Goat meat and the fresh coffee. The coffee here is beyond superb. Service was also great, Madina is such a nice lady. Fills you up and is worth the money.
Awesome African, Middle east and Arabic food. The staff and cook are very welcoming and every dish is made to perfection on time
The food is great, the place feels like a family reunion, and the Congolese man who does the dishes sat down to talk news and politics. Get the shawarma or get anything 5/5
I was disappointed that I was being told that the Injera wasnt available bc it would take too long to cook, but they made up for it in the delectable Chicken Suqqar dish that I ordered instead. I would bathe in the seasonings that they use for this dish. Id recommend, especially if your taste buds are tired of the same old American food that Fargo has to offer. The dining area could use some sprucing up and better lighting, but you can always order take out!! 😁
I was pleasantly surprised with how incredible the food was! My girlfriend and I shared the veggie platter and a hummus and pita appetizer. There are so many intricate flavors. The waiter was pleasant, but the interior is a little underwhelming. Not really a problem for me though, as I still had amazing service and food at a good price! 😊
