Madame Claude in Berlin

Coolish consept. A bit too pretentious for me. God knows what the dj was playing and the live performance was a bit embarrassing. Probably wouldnt return.

One of my favorite places in Berlin. Great avantgarde programming, stylish dark interior and fairly priced drinks.

They have live music almost every day at the back of the Bar, its intimate and very cosy. The staff is ✨the best✨

Open stage never again!Waiting on the line ( I was the last oneall the people got tickets to play and to hear the staff guy saying very rude to me "We are full!!!" and I did not even got the chance to ask for only one song since we made a long trip to reach the bar! It was only 10min after 20 oclock! If this happens you shoulded give the opportunity for people to sign online and because of only 1 person not let to play its very disappointing and low level character when musicians are going there to play for FREE and still need to carry the instrument with. I do not recommend to any musician. There is better bars and friendlier staff in Berlin.

Really cool bar, the whole place is upside down. Loved the cocktails, friendly and talented barmaid although the experimental music is sometimes quite a mood killer.

Been here twice now and I can’t wait to come back! The drinks are always good and the people I meet here a super entertaining!! I always have a great time. They have arcade games and all the furniture is in the ceiling for some reason....Would recommend if you are looking for a good bar with room to sit down!!!

The upside-down concept is very unique and quirky. Nice vibes. Cocktails are a bit overpriced for the quality (why they loose a starand the performer cancelled last minute, but that’s not their fault. Would reccomend if you’re looking for a sit down with decent priced beers and some nice ambiance. Everyone tends to smoke and it’s not a huge space so you may need to wash your clothes the next day.

Such a quirky place! Cheap drinks and great atmosphere! Can smoke inside which just added to the smokey vibe. Lots of little rooms to sit in and friendly bar staff.

It says the bar closes at 5am and we arrived around 3am to get some drinks. We couldnt order cocktails so we went for beers. After we paid they told us they were about to close and asked us to leave. Dont go there unless you want to get bolossed.

Cool place with furnitures glued to the ceiling. DJ sets can be a bit too experimental in the main room for some ppl, so check out the live music room (dont forget, not so obviousfor some good stuff. Drinks prices are fair and entrance fee is low.

Came here for the first time back in December - great vibe, donation-based cover, good and cheap beer! Friendly bartenders, even though it was packed, which, props. Tip your bartender. Good DJ in the main bar area. As with most hip places in Berlin, be prepared for smoke. Nice place to take your friends visiting you in Berlin to trick them into thinking you’re far more cool than you actually are.

Its a quirky place Ill give it that and the pils is really cheap but I think think there is a fine line between being artisanaly rustic and just been unclean I think this place falls in the latter bracket dont get me wrong I enjoyed my visit and the music was great but it needs to cross back over to purposely rustic.As with a lot of bars we visited smoking is permitted which as it was quite early didnt really bother me but can imagine it getting worse as the night went on.

One of the best pubs in Berlin. I wish music was louder and we could have danced! I would spend my all night in this pub.

The deco is cool and all but thats about it. The place has no ventilation so you feel like in a cigarette smoke sauna.If you smoke and are 35+ you maybe will enjoy this bar.

Read good reviews on Madame Claude, but maybe Im too old for this type of bar. Very quirky and small inside. May have improved when the music started, but didnt stay long due to the amount of people smoking inside.

The decoration is super cool. There are several rooms, including chairs, sofa and rooms for singing. People are allowed to smoke inside. They have beer, wine, amd other drinks.

Great chiller bar with live music on the basement. Oh and furniture on the ceiling.

Intimate gigs in the basement. Smokey bar, cold beer and low lights. A cozy place with a loud atmosphere and sofas you can sink into. Theres also a table football for the athletes.

When you get into the bar it feels like youre at somebodys place, i love the upside down setting. I went there for a musical trival and it was the best thing !!!! It seems like youre playing in a living room and it makes so easy and natural to talk to people and have fun. The staff is super friendly !Ps : Cocktails without alcohol are also available !

Imagine a basement. Now imagine some furniture displayed on the ceiling. Pretty cool right....now imagine not being able to breathe due to a lack of ventilation and the slew of chain smokers. I believe in peoples right to smoke but for the rest of us that dont, have proper ventilation. My friends and I couldnt stay longer than 15 mins. Drinks were nothing impressive either.

Characteristically decorated bar with objects hanging down from the ceiling.Almost every evening theres a live concert. Keep in mind that its a smokers bar.

A very very interesting Pub/club.The place used to be a brothel before being a pub.The decor is very interesting and it was one the main reasons I wanted to visit, where everything is set upside down (literally).Smoking is allowed inside which can be annoying to non smokers.Many rooms to chill.Theres live music everyday there. However it is very hot in the music room, specially when it gets packed. It needs more ventilation and air conditioning.

Really cool place! Good beer! Especially easy atmosphere to socialise around without being bothered at all. They have a performance room downstairs and there are usually interesting shows, worth to give it a go!

Furniture on the ceiling! Great pub, really fun vibe with a nice selection of drinks. We arrived just in time to see the most German gig imaginable consisting of two guys with a synth. We had a great time!

Fun place for pp to gather and make friends. The place to put jacket was full so have to carry jacket on our arms which was tiring. May be can use the donation money to buy more hanger or install hooks. International crowd. Cheap beer. And good atmosphere. Met genuine funny pp. And the creepy ones too.

A must if ya want a beer and are in the area. Super helpful guys behind the bar, chilled vibe despite being popular and busy, great music and decor. Loads of nooks and crannies to explore and live music downstairs, we went on a Sunday.

Great authentic place to hang out and enjoy a beer.All the bar staff and locals were friendly to us as tourists.Theres a €1-6 entry fee, you decide.Once in you find loads of little areas to sit and drink.Furniture on the ceiling is fun, and really good selection of beers and ciders.Gets busy from 10pm onwards but still a really good vibe if you dont mind your bars being a bit rough around the edges.

Very original place, I loved the inversed room with furniture on the ceiling. Good atmosphere, quite big inside so good for groups. Entrance fee is your choice between 1€ and 5€

Very cool bar, the decor includes furniture bolted to ceilings, Kicker, and interesting music acts in the basement. Definitely a place to bring friends from out of town to give them a taste of the Berlin vibe.

You need to go there! Youll never be disappointed! Lot of small cozy rooms and awesome atmosphere! The decor is fantastic !Nice concerts where everyone can participate.One of the best hidden places in Berlin

One of the hidden gems of Berlin. A nice cellar bar with DJs and often live concerts. Youll probably have to pay a fee for the music, but its normally not too expensive and you can choose between a range of prices that you think its fare. Also, dont forget to check the ceiling out while inside.
