Macksville Lions Park - Park and Garden in Kempsey, Australia
Macksville is a lovely spot to stop just off the highway. Some nice little food shops and the park is a nice spot to eat your lunch.
A great free camp for the night
Just a nice quiet spot for lunch by the river
Awesome spot to stay Overnight free camping on the river front limited spots thoughShort walk across the macksville bridge to pubs clubsand shopping centre
Nice clean and close to town
Nice spot to stop off from the M1.
Beautiful spot right on the river short walk into town just over the bridge
An amazing spot. Use it as a rest stop while travelling from Brisbane to Sydney or Sydney to Brisbane. Itβs a great park , with great view and environment. Got parking for campers and small cars. Itβs also got a playground for kids. Definitely above and beyond for a town with population of only 7k. Would recommend it if youβre close by or passing through macksville.
I absolutely love this spot , this is a great park with great facilities plenty of parking and has a great β΅ ramp and plenty of seating great spot to come eat your takeaway food and have a coffee or drink even a rest from driving. Has toilets and small playground for kids. Great place to stop π£β΅ππ. If you decide to park over night it is a very safe place . Sometimes when I have been driving for a long while,I will look for a good park like this especially at night and early morning so I can rest up even get a few hours of sleep, you cant camp here, but to rest up here at night for few hours is fine actually I recommend people do this instead of driving when you are getting tired then after a few hours rest you should be good again to drive a nice coffee will help also . You can stay overnight in your RV or caravan. β΅π£ππ
Had a lovely stay, bit cramped but quiet. Its free, clean and the scenery was lovely. We were parked against the river get there early.
Not enough spaces only 3.
Stopped overnight easy access and large enough for a 20ft caravan and 4wd, next to the river, very quiet nice coffee across the river next morning, fits 5/6 well worth stop
Very nice place and good fishing and great to park our caravan over night
Excellent little spot. Thanks Macksville for having facilities for travellers... Dont see much of this on the east coast.
Nice small park. Excellent accessible toilets. No dogs.
Absolutely beautiful and great for the kids to play and do a bit of fishing or swimming! Plenty of shaded seating and lots of parking for any and all vehicles, caravan or boat. River walks or over the bridge and grab a ice cream perfect family day.
Very clean, tidy park right on the rivers edge. BBQ facilities, toilets, boat ramp, playground, free overnight stop over. A little traffic noise but nothing to worry about. Happy to stay again.
Right on the foreshore of Macksville. Has provision for three overnight caravan parking as well as provision for under 6.5m self-contained vehicles to the left of boatramp.Park is nicely layed out with ample seating. Toilets were clean.Thankyou Lions for providing this service for travellers, could you please place donations box in vicinity? Unless I overlooked it.
Great place. Either as a pit stop or a stop a while. Perfect picnic spot
Beautiful riverside park and boat ramp accessing Nambucca river with public amenities and some parking for RVs and vans.
Great little stopover right beside the river near the Macksville bridge.3 Free overnight parking bays for the traveller. It is a shame that others ignore the signs and camp in no camping bays instead of finding another.People doing this are the reason they close these free places. The park was clean as were the facilities (toilets only).
Great spot - unfortunately many others take no notice of the restrictions-let their water drain straight out etc. No soap/sanitiser in toilet.
This is a rest area not camping. This park only has 3 carvan sites for fully contained grey water. No backetsNo places for RVs sites4 camper van never tiolets only.Ranger checks every mornings.
As a local, it is a beautiful place to live. However, it is frustrating to see caravans/campers constantly disregarding the parking rules. This park is the only boat ramp for the entire shire. Really wish they never allowed people to camp here as they are rude and disrespectful of the park by illegally dumping gray water and leaving rubbish around.Just follow the rules and the locals wont get mad!!
Nice quiet place to stop and have some lunch while we refueled for the rest of the long drive ahead of us:)
beautiful place to launch the kayaks, will be back
Great spot, there are 6 car/caravan parking spots, beautiful grass area beside the river with clean toilet , nice place near shops and away from the noise of the high way
Great park right on the river with toilets boat ramp & picnic tables. A favourite stop over on our travels
Level parking for 3RVs and angled, sloping parking for campers. Toilets available and short walk across the bridge to the shops & pub. Pleasant riverside location.
Good boat ramp , has toilets and overnight Camper vans are allowed at West end of carpark. Easy walk over the bridge to the pub and shops.
Lovely place until 2.30 in morning when all the drunks came across the bridge and started throwing cans of beer at our bus and yelling and fighting. Moved on at 3.30 . Wouldnt recommend for anyone to stay in this spot. Giving one star only because it wont let me give zero stars.
Great spot for a rest relax quick fish on a long drive or even stay o-night campervan parking available. Toilets, boat ramp, covered tables, wharf, close to town, fishing.
Great spot for a rest, a snack or a catch up. Plenty of little shops around for whatever you need. Some good photo opportunities. Macksville is always worth a drive/visit.
Nice place to relax by the river
Kind of small boat ramp but there is a nice sandy beach 20m up river
Lovely view looking across river to Macksville town. Not alot of seating for the area. Plenty of caravan parking spaces.
Allows limited camping in RVs and caravans. Dump point.Boat launching ramp.Public toilet block no showers.Small sandy beach.Right on river.Just off Giinagay Way previously and better known by locals and GPS as Pacific Highway. Why they changed the name can only be put down to PC!When by passed the new road is the Pacific Motorway so no need to change the name of this road.Macksville park is just down from Macksville showground where the annual show is held annually a couple of weeks after Easter and the Rusty Iron Rally each fathers day in September.
Only 3 parking sites but right on the river looking over to the town can walk there over the bridge lovely spot but get there early in the day
Very pretty spot to stay for the night. Very confusing where to park. Some spots only for self contained vehicles and others which are not flat are for campervans.
Lovely free stop.only a few places so get there early. Well done Macksville council for providing free parking.
Macksville Lions Park. A fabulous overnight stay spot if you are travelling in your camper van or caravan. The most amazing views over the river, clean toilets as well!! Be aware there is only 3 bays for caravans/campers vans (shaded in blue on the photothis is not clear if you arrive in the dark, we wondered why we were being photographed by the house opposite (45only to see that we were parked in a boat trailer bay when the sun came up in the morning π
Great view over the river and to the city. We saw some pelicans around. Clean toilet facilities. A lot of parking places. Everything clean and tidy. Picnic tables and nice grass.
Great place for the children to play, fish, kayaking, boating and to have a family picnic. Public toilets available.
Very nice park on the river, noise levels are low. Other people were very very friendly, toilets were approx 70 metres away
Absolutely beautiful. Great place for overnight. Also walk across bridge to town for shopping. You can see the view of both sides of river.
Nice park by the river with a small playground for the younger ones and a flush toilet. Great for stretching legs if youre driving on the highway.
My favourite rest spot between Sydney and Gold Coast, by the water with a jetty, playground, clean toilets, BYO food and drinks.
Great place for picnic or taking a break and relaxing. Stopped here for Lunch on the way to Brisbane from Sydney. Literally 10 seconds of the main road but didnt feel like as if you were in such a busy congested place. Rather felt very calm and peaceful. The facilities were also very clean that day.
I lovely little park by the river... It has a boat ramp and a pontoon... There are toilets...
A pleasant spot to stop off the busy highway. Shaded tables and clean bathrooms. While swimming is not recommended there is a small, protected nook off the boat ramp that is suitable for toddlers.
