Machan Diyawannawa in Colombo

This is "machan Diyawannawa" recently changed to "Malli Diyawannawa". Foods are tasty. Staff is ok. No complaints. Good place to have a beer.

Management has changed and the booze prices are very high. Not worthy

Dont get Beer pitcher or tower in this place,because i think water is mixing. We cant get real taste of beer in thin beer pitcher of tower.

A place that can be recommend for someone for spend their free time with friends and chill

Good place for get together your besties. Nice scenery. But the lake nearby is filthy. Tables too dirty. Cleanliness 2/5. The waiter was good. 3.5/5. Taste was good too 3/5. But yhe portions were not enough. They have beer and hard liquor except Gal.

Good place they don’t have Vegetable Dishes these days . It should have . At least Boiled Vegetables 🥗. Others good.

This is not "machan". I was misleaded. They have changed it to "Malli". Place and the theme are same but not worth for money. Taste of food and portion also not worth. Most of the people go there without knowing the ownership has changed.

Great relaxing place on the banks of Lake Diyawanna in the heart of Rajagiriya. Food Is tasty. Very good place for a beer or a drink.

Amazing food and great prices

Reserved seats to watch SLvsAUS t20 match but no power was there. However, requested the bill multiple times to leave but took around 20mins to get it to the table. Worst service ever.

Really good place for a low budget and have a decent beer with an amazing view of the lake. Kocchi Rice and the Bite Rice is recommended to accompany your drinks. Overall its nice.Helpful staff and reasonable price.

Singing is not allowed. Table arrangements are very bad. Kitchen closes at 10. We have to leave after 11p.m. If you want to have a good party I dont recommend this place.

Great place to have a cool beer and have a chat. There are lots of of out door seats by the diyawannawa lake. Atmosphere is very good. Seats arw sufficiently apart so that you wont be disturbed by the near table taking.They serve Beer towers and large jugs, and some other types of liquor.We ordered chicken kottu, fried rice, hot butter cuttle fish, and the food was above average.Only one waiter was there to serve out door seats but with all the crowd he managed somehow to get all orders wothout much delay 💪🏼😍.Even girls are out there having beer and chat this is a safe place for a women to be unlike most other places

Went to have a small drink in the evening. They did not have any hard liquor. We ordered a "Machan Rice" which was so bad, it didnt have any taste at all. It tasted just like wet boiled rice. Worst experience ever from them.

If you are looking for a beer. Thats the best place to go. Cheap price for beer in town. Food bit expensive. But worth it. Nice atmosphere. Weekends much crowded. Overall nice experience.

Good place for a booze. Ordered a Strong Beer Tower, tequila shots, fried rice and kottu. However the kottu portion is less than the fried rice. Indoor smoking is possible.

Hello everyone,Machan Diyawannawa is a good place to go for beer and chill by the diyawannawa lake.Also, I should mention that they have introduced a QR code for their menus. (But I dont know how effective is thatbut its a good initiative. (With this pandemic)They have offered ( when buying a beer tower you get a bite)Enjoy and be safe. Always remember to follow the rules and regulations for the pandemic.

Normally Machan is a really good place. This is for the first time I went to Machan Diyawannawa. Quality of the service is worst. There were some substance in the pitcher. Anyhow they replaces but told it is normal of beer. This is the first time I am having such an experience.

So far so good. Nothing to complain or be "karen" about.Portions are 7/10 in taste but not satisfied with the size.Polite staff .Try schedule your commute in off rush hours due to the heavy traffic in the area.

I just had one beer and a small bite which cost me rs 937.but they made the bill to 950 saying they dont have change.not the best place to come it seems.

Good pub with range of drinks and food for a reasonable prices. They have separated areas upstairs for private gatherings and ground floor and garden is for common use... Place located edge of the river. Nice Place, Clean and clear Place. Car Parking facilities are available. Perfect location. Service is not acceptable and washroom not acceptable, and food portions smaller than other machan. Ordered chicken fried chicken. No one able to find more than 10 g chicken. Other also same. Situated near beautiful Diyawannawa lake. Good for group hangouts. If you ever go here dont forget to try black pork Curry with manyokka. Its the iconic food you can find here. Prices are ok but most of the portions are small. If the place is crowded you cant expect a good service.

Perfect for cheap tasty food and drinks. Spacious seating available outside facing the lake as well. Food portions are good and so are the prices. Batter fried mushroom dish is a definite must try with an ice cold beer. Service can be improved by adding more staff as we had to wait a while for the food to arrive since only one person was handling many tables. Massive selection in the drink menu. Good for groups.

Awesome place to hangout with friends if youre on a budget. Booze is cheap, food is pretty good and there is also a pool table for additional entertainment. I Recommend you try the hot battered cuttlefish and pork. However I found the rest room to be quite average. Regardless, this is a must try spot for a nice evening
