MacDinton's St Pete in Saint Petersburg
Description
Privilege
Hear its changing handsGonna miss this Irish pub what great times here. best of luck to the owners
MoreLiterally the worst drinks ever. no alcahol in the all you can drink. Poor service. The crowd there were rude "bros". This is the type of place you Literally have to worry about being roofied. No inclusitivity. For the are half off nothing decent is included. The music was outdated pop music.
MoreIf you know you go. Great vibe. Killer drinks and awesome food
WORST PLACE IN ST. PETE!! Drinks are literally TWICE as much as places right around the corner and the bar manager was a total rude c**t!
MoreThis bar has karaoke on Thursday nights. Also comedy Mondays with 50% off drinks. It was a nice place to go out with friends. The music was good. I didnt get to try their food but they had a variety of choices. The staff is super friendly and it was a fun atmosphere to be a part of.
MoreI just had to use their restroom, and they let me.Thanks for that ! Due to natural relief they scored 5 stars . Imagine reading this review and you are having a drink right now!
MoreI love macDintons always fun and filled with energy! The dance floor is great and have numerous bars inside is a huge help for the large crowd.
MoreNice Irish pub, bartenders were nice and even quite knowledgeable about their Irish whiskey which was unexpected but a pleasant surprise. We didnt stay for the band but judging by their sound check they were pretty good. Not sure what kind of music they were going to play though.
MoreGreat Friday spot for happy hour. Staff is great, service is quick. Always a great place for meeting new people as well!
MoreThe bartenders where not very attentive and had nasty attitudes. Didnt know the types of liquor they sold. Like they didnt want us there. Too bad too, I tip well when the service is good.
MoreJohn the bartender Rocks! Plus all the food is Great. My go to place in St Pete, especially before and after a concert at Jannus Live.👍
MoreWell it is definitely a fun place to hang out. That being said, $6 for a Miller lite bottle? Also the food here might not even be on the level of chili’s/Applebee’s. At this rate I am not sure how much longer this place will last, two many other places in DTSP that are better. Night and day difference from the McDs in Soho.
MoreLoved the Atmosphere and Bartenders! They had a special for all you can drink wells till 11pm.
MoreDj was amazing.. food was great... Nothing to complain about 🤣
The transitions here on a Saturday night just ain’t it man—it’s a little disappointing. If I was 21 again and still a semi educated upperclassmen college student this would be heaven, but sadly I am not. The drinks are pricey as well for a middling, at best, club experience. Moreover, you guys have the weather channel playing in the club…why?
MoreAlways fun and always have had friendly waitstaff. Enjoy sitting at the outside portion of the large bar. Good times.
MoreSuper-good menu. I was there at 1pm on a Saturday, completely empty, but loud music. Nonetheless, the food was just what the doctor ordered.
MoreSeemed like a fun type of bar for a Saturday afternoon. What wasnt so fun was the cold bowl of soup I ordered. It was supposed to come with soda bread. When I asked about it, I was told they ran out but that there a piece of bread being grilled for me. That piece of bread came to the table dropping in butter. Now I love butter but it was inedible. Two other diners in our group loved their fish and chips but we other 4 in the group didnt really enjoy our meals.
MoreStaff was so friendly and made me special food and drink to accommodate my preferences. Bartender, Morgan and Kitchen manager, Kyle, are interested in making their customers feel welcome and well served. They obviously enjoy their work. Refreshing.
MoreFood was bad, unless you like bland food that’s over cooked. The bartenders were hot, except the weird dudes. Security was kind and courteous seemed to do there job well while checking every ID. If it’s drinks you want, this is the place for you. If you think Mayo is spicy this is the restaurant for you.
MoreThis a common place to hangout during the busy season of drinking and partying. Good music, drinks are cheap. The food is okay. Across the Hyatt hotel, so it is a good place to start your binge drinking and entrance is free. Best time here is for Halloween
MoreIt wasnt a busy afternoon but it took a bit to get waited on (only 2 other patrons who appeared to be regulars). No wine to be had (despite the signs saying they had winebut my Black and Tan was okay. Im more used to Harps with the Guinness and not the Yuengling the bartender used. Price was reasonable as well.
MoreFun spot with music, indoor/outdoor feel right in the heart of DTSP. Had a great boneless chicken wing app but should have stopped there with the food. We ordered a Reuben and Bangers n Mash which was a big disappointment. Reuben was served on ungrilled white bread with chunks of some kind of kielbasi like meat. Bangers were like 4 very small Bob Evans sausage links overcooked. Mash was "ok." Clearly NOT a "go to" place for Irish cooking. So dont go for that reason. Otherwise enjoyable , fun atmosphere. Good service.
MoreVery, very quiet on a Thursday night, but surprisingly a pretty good time even with the lack of humans. The burger was overcooked, but very tasty despite that although the fish and chips were over battered and just so -so. Besides Guineas, no other Irish beers on tap. We asked for Smithwicks and was told they hadnt had that on tap for more than a year. Likely not going back.
MoreHad a great Shepherd Pie. Also, had an unknown drink discount on my bill. Service initially was slow, but it was shift change. Staff diligently wore masks and cleaned.
MoreAfter watching the Bucs game last Sunday, I left my expensive sunglasses in the restroom. Realizing it the next day, I tried calling Macdintons several times from 10 AM until 5 PM with absolutely no one answering the phones. Fed up, I trekked down there myself to evaluate. I was informed by the bartender that lost and found is kept under lock and key inside the office, and he has no access to it at the current time. He suggested I call the office between 10 - 11 AM to speak with staff their to see if someone had found my item. The next day I did just that, leaving two voicemails on their lost and found menu option. 24 hours later no one has called me back and they continue to not answer their phones. What DESPICABLE customer service. Be sure to not misplace any items or credit cards at this establishment - because you will never see them again.
MoreGreat Irish pub joint located right in the heart of downtown. They have 4 bars total, outside and inside. Bartenders and servers are always very sweet and friendly. The menu has your basic Irish options and drinks are cheap.
MoreThe place to be, amazing atmosphere! I always have a good time here. Try their new menu, I really loved the hot pretzel with the beer cheese OMG
MoreFor a bar service was pretty good amiss the pandemic. My friends and I were able to social distance (by not going inside). Music was great, nice throw backs. MacDintons is a St. Pete classic.
MoreService is really quick, though the bar can be absurdly loud on occasion. Very popular spot with good drinks and love music occasionally. Outdoor seating is wonderful!
MoreI came in contact with some random bartender working today. Its 6:42pm. It was a female, blonde hair, sassy attitude. I asked her specifically how much a Jameson and ginger ale cost...as I showed her my ID. She ignored me, then took the order from my other local friend and tourist friends visiting from different states and countries. Poured the drink I asked about, and then embarrassed me, because I stated I was bussed. Threatened to take the drink from me because she failed to pay attention to what I spoke to her, and reprimanded that I ordered it. I cordially drank it, payed my tip of still 20% even due to her ignorance and rude behavior. I wouldnt ever come back to have another drink or even buy a $3 bottle of water from this venue. Nor bring anymore guests from out of town to this "local st. Pete bar". I recommend, Bar 548. Much love.
MoreKaraoke Thursday is a bunch of fun. The weekend crowd wasnt as fun I expected.
Fun night and the band was pretty good. Friendly staff, a great drink special, and no cover charge. A little dingy but its an Irish pub what do you expect? I did not get to partake in much of their drinks though so I cant give a full rating, but I will be back.
MoreI went out on a Thursday night with 2 male friends for a Karaoke night (which begins at 9PM at this establishment).I was pleasantly surprised by three things: 1)their very cheap drink specials. 2the extremely friendly staff (bartenders, bar backs as well as security). 3their food.My guy friends ordered their $1 Miller Lite drink special (as well as other beverages throughout the night). I ordered their Turkey Club sandwich (no cheese, no mayowith a side of sweet potatoes fries (although I generally opt for healthier fare, this was great for bar food and the fries were not oil soaked - so a win for me).The karaoke left much to be desired though....it seemed that 3 women were running the show. The brunette ran the equipment and seemed pleasant, the blonde was on the mic calling out the names of the singer who would be next (she was also pleasant and had a powerful singing voice). The last was...well...offensive at best.Wed arrived 30 min before they began, ordered food and full priced cocktails and waited patiently for the karaoke to commence. When the karaoke ladies arrived, they put out a clip board for us all to write down our name and the song we wanted to sing.My friend Shawn was 3rd on the board, I was 4th.The 3rd woman came up to me stating that I could not sing the song of my choice because she was already singing it (I looked on the clip board she was holding & noted it wasnt on there). She said but Im singing it. I joked and said well you better do a great job then. She said oh I will! - she didnt.Id also noticed she was not going in sequential order, rather selecting who would go next (so although I was 4th on the list, I was the 8th person to sing).Furthermore, it seemed that although the board had plenty of female singers..they kept calling mens names to sing. The problem I have with the mentioned issues is that in the service industry: 1the paying customer should get to sing the song - trumping the person hired to be there. 2its only fair to go in sequential order (also note: if wed been there longer - weve spent more money). 3dont make selections of whos next based on gender (or song or anything - it should be fair). In one of my photos Id magnified the problematic karaoke worker.
MorePrices were great, particularly drink specials; got a burger and 2 imperial pints of Guinness for $20. The burger was good, overcooked, but still good. The service could have been a bit more attentive for the small amount of people. All in all, good spot if youre looking for a pub. If Im in the area, Id return for sure.
MoreAwesome place definitely great for a football atmosphere and great services. Dunno bout American football but man liverpool here 2 years in a row
MoreGreat service and good food. Our server, Adrianna was awesome, so polite and friendly. Fish and chips were good. A better wine selection would have scored another star
MoreI dont always write reviews, I do write good ones and bad. Bartenders were nice. But security staff are terrible. I mean, my BIGGEST concern is the safety of this place. the inside was over pack way against fire code well over 400 people. took me ten minutes to get out. There was definitely was tension/ fight about to happen inside but it was so packed it would take like 10 minutes for the police or security staff to get to them. Or if I need help I would vulnerable. They have max occupancy for a reason. Plus no room to socialize or dance. I would hate see business close down because lack on control and safety. Just imagine if there was a fire or something violent happen with only one way out ( which was tonightyou guys would be closed if anyone was hurt because of the number people and code and safety.AdviceMore exist and least two be open no matter whatControl max occupancy so it makes in fun and safe for everyoneDont be greedy and risk over serving people and safetyIt could be a great place if there was more organization. Great style and music.
Moredefinitely a typical divey irish pub. beer selection is meh. mixed drinks are hit or miss. staff is friendly. there is always a staff lady (sometimes twoin their tiny bathroom which is annoying, but they’re usually nice. this place gets really packed after 11 on the weekends and the energy is usually pretty good.
MoreThis was a great st pattys night for me. It was good music and atmosphere. The crowd was respectable and mature. I enjoyed it.
MoreWent here with my twin for our birthday. The drinks were literally the weakest weve ever paid for at a bar, and this wasnt the first time. Ended up spending WAY too much and hardly getting tipsy. Aside from the highly disappointing drinks, the atmosphere is fun and the food is tasty. I would never recommend going here if you are hitting downtown for drinks.
MoreCasual place, nice location to meet up with friends for drinks and dinner. Great draft beer selection along with full liquor bar. Irish Egg Rolls are delicious for an appetizer and the Curry Chicken was very tasty. Time for a Guinness. Cheers.
MoreThis place went from being a fun local yuppy & touristy hangout spot on Fri Sat nights and turned into a low class trashy ghetto hangout. That’s who they mainly attract now since the DJ only plays rap & hip hop and is clueless to every other musical genre that the locals like while management is asleep at the wheel on all that.
MoreMade reservations for about 30 family and friends on 11/8 during Karaoke night and what a great time. We had our own area and our hostess-Deda was awesome. She handled our orders like a pro. Was there to take care of any mishaps and made sure we had everything we needed and was very attentive to our group. The atmosphere was awesome. Couldnt ask for a better night. Great overall experience.
MoreI have recently started doing some exploration in DTSP and this is one of my “must-visit” when I stop by the district. MacDinton’s is quite the experience. They have two full, long bars, they offer both indoor and outside seating. One bar is open to the outdoors and faces the street. The other bar is located against the side wall, inside. The outside seating is right on the strip/walkway, which is great for people watching. You become fully immersed in your surroundings and it certainly makes for a fun Saturday night or an interesting Sunday afternoon! When I visit I order a Crown and Coke and my drink is always perfect! I have not had any fruity drinks here but I am sure they are great too! Last weekend my party and I ordered the Pub Pretzel, Irish Nachos, and the Soho Cuban. The Pretzel was warm and salty! The outside is firm with a soft airy inside. I did find the pretzel to be a bit too salty for me (my partner loved it!so I grabbed a napkin and wiped some salt off. The salt came off relatively easily, however, it wasn’t falling off all over the place! The beer cheese sauce is great. The consistency is perfect, gooey enough to stick to the pretzel without being too thick. It has a creamy cheddar base with a nice mild beer finish. The Nachos were loaded, and piled high with toppings! The “nacho” chip part is not a tortilla chip! It’s Irish, clearly it’s a potato 😊. Covered with the same cheese mentioned above, fresh pico de gallo, diced chicken – lightly seasoned, and sprinkled with scallions. The Cuban was good. They are a little light with the sandwich meat but the flavor was what I was looking for. Cuban is served with seasoned fries. (Extra crispy if you ask!!)
MoreGreat folks there. Scooter the manager was awesome hosting 60 of my Army brothers for a keg and some meals. Would recommend them big time. Our servers Dory and Raelee ,not sure of spelling, were excellent and never missed a beat with all the multiple checks. Wouldnt hesitate to bring another big group there.
MoreOne of the only places open (and worth going tolate on a Sunday or Monday night. St.Pete has a lot going on but so many businesses close Sunday and Monday (I get it as we have a lot of small, family businesses). Had a friend fly in late on a Sunday from the West coast and wanted to go out for drinks but all of my regular spots were closed so we hit this place up. Great music, great bar staff, amazing drinks.
MoreMark was literally the best waiter ever, and he is actually the bar tender! He really stepped up to the plate because there were not any regular waiters at the time we arrived. Food was really good and irish-y. Really glad to have chosen this place for a good lunch, not stuffy or pretentious at all. Would reccomend!!!
MoreWe only sat at the bar Streetside but we had excellent service and enjoyed watching the patrons inside playing some group trivia game. Service was quick and we met some nice people from Brazil. Good place for making friends.
MoreJust want to give everyone a heads up about this place. My friend was drugged at this bar. It was a very costly horrible experience. It was def here because it was the only bar we went to. Almost positive it was from a female blonde bartender on a Friday night. The brunette bartender has horrible customer service skills. We will never step foot in here again. We also recently have learned that many people have been drugged from here. You cant see what the bartenders are doing. It can happen even if you order a beer. I am in my late 30s and have never experienced something like this before. It was a nightmare and I dont know why someone would do this to an innocent person. This place needs to be shut down.
