Mac Mac Falls in Tzaneen

Probably my favourite stop in Graskop, really beautiful, lovely falls. Was empty when i went so very serene and spent about 2 hours sitting and meditating

Yes, its a beautiful waterfall but the view is too far away and the pools are much more recommended. I wished we could go and sit at the bottom of the falls.

Just check in and appreciate the view. Its about 6 minutes walk from the parking. Theres a market for cultural items as well. R16 entrance fee.

One of the biggest waterfalls in the region.The advantage is that the parking lot is next to the panorama route and the short footpath could be accomplished in approx 5 minutes.There are also locals selling there goods and a toilet.The disadvantage is, that you can only see the fall from far away and there is a metal fence blocking a part of the nice view. Also the footpath is in direkt sunlight.The entrance fee is 16 rand in 2022.

Nice view but like most public attractions need maintenance and upkeep

Stunning waterfall. Pity the palisades ruin the full view. There can be improvements done on certain points to view the waterfall. The price is fair at R16pp. They do take cards.

Powerful waterfall indeed! I stumbled upon Mac Mac falls while going for a drive and was thoroughly impressed. The security is super friendly and the market at the entrance has all sorts of souvenirs that one can buy. The waterfall itself is amazing to look at and one cannot help but wonder what it feels like to stand at the bottom. Please stop by here!

Make Sure you Carry Cash , Credit Card Machine was not working due to poor signal.The Falls are very pretty but the Infrastructure is not being taken care of or being repaired. Would not take elderly people who battle to walk , Its not Wheelchair Friendly or Pram Friendly.Watch your ankles on the rocks. This place needs some attention and repairs .

Stunning view even in the mist and rain.The lady at the gate was extremely friendly and even offered us her umbrella as we visited in light drizzle rain.I would recommend having cash on hand for the entry fees.The vendors are a bit in your face but some are nice

The waterfall was beautiful but its too far away and you cant see it very well,so altogether,its probably not worth it.Also i know this is probably irrelevant but i sprained my ankle badly ankle on the uneven concrete ground.Rather go to Potholes.

If you don’t pack binoculars you won’t be able to see much over the huge metal fence. A bit of a waste of money when the Mac Mac Pools and Bridal veil waterfall is so much more worth it.

Also a beautifull waterfall especiallt this time of year. R 15.00 per person above 6 years of age is very expensive considering your are just going to view a waterfall and then move on to the next one.

Directly off the main road, small entrance fee. 3-5 min walk from car park to falls along footpath. Lots of vendors by the car park that can hassle for attention. Impressive falls with ok view, have to peer though a metal fence

Saw 4 falls on the same day. This was the most disappointing. Seeing the views on the walkway leading up to the lookout was amazing, but the view of the falls through the palisade is very anticlimactic! Wish I could have been one of the hikers we saw at the bottom

Waterfall is running nicely after all the rain. Money for entry can just be applied to keep pathways and fence in good shape. The public toilets is also in a mess. Do same maintenance and more people will visit these sites. Use to be a good experience but not now anymore.

Beautiful piece of nature. Very popular.would be great if a coffee shop or food truck was on site where one could just sit back and enjoy the view. A hike to the bottom of ghe waterfall would of made it a perfect visit.

Wonderful place just near to the main road🚀 easy to park or take some local hand made gift for tour relatives. The walking path is nice and easy to walk and the viewing platform is fantastic to watch the power of the waterfall. Enjoy it anytime🤩

The place is quite good.. Nature at it best. But you only view the water falls from a distance.

A long walk from the parking lot to the view point. The falls are beautiful but disappointing that you can only take pics from a distance away through a palisade fence.

Mac Mac falls is one of SAs waterfalls, SA being a semi Arid country means water is scarce so have our small rivers and waterfalls protected is a big deal.

The falls is breath taking. It is safe also. By far, their souvenir shops is the most inexpensive compared to other places. You should buy there.If you want new experience, you can also walk across the other side of the road and enjoy the array of trees.

Stunning, beautiful waterfall worth the small R15 entry fee. Approx 700m down to the falls, takes about 10mins to walk down. There is no restaurant on site, however there are bathrooms and a small craft village.

Absolutely brilliant view. The height is something else though. Magnificent view worth seeing if in the area!Platform is extremely high but very safe to view from.

Majestic. Missing local guides to take visitors and guests on a hike down to the bottom of the waterfall. Epic! One of the best I have visited in the world, scenic tranquil, serene and African.

Was a bit dissapointed as I expected a hike to the falls below. Instead it was a short walk to a fenced viewing area. Would be nice to have a hiking trail to the falls.

Not the greatest of views, but you can see the waterfall in the distance from the viewing point ... entrance is R15 when I went, and great local street vendors selling a variety of hand made art crafts

Its a short distance from MacMac pools so worth the visit. Great view from a fenced ledge overlooking the falls. Has an element of adventure to the view. Great for all ages and involves a short walk from the parking. 🏞️

A great visit and a great view. I did expect more. Of all the falls that I have seen, this one wast the most dissipointing. Although it is a beautiful fall the angle of the sight from where you look at it is dissipointing. But it is still a great visit and experience. Enjoy your visit to a great falls

Of all the falls this is the most dissapointing one. Quite a walk and not a great view of the Fall. You have to look through a huge fence to see it. Its very HIGH but the surrounding view is beautifull from the top

Nice place to visit. Very relaxing. Small but with possibility to find a spot with some privacy. You can spend some time in the water, sunning on the grass, eat something you brought yourself and enjoy. Or just stop by while on the way and cool off for an hour.

The Mac Mac Falls are found along R532 just north of Sabie. This is one of the impressive waterfalls you will find along the Panorama Route drive in the Mpumalanga Highlands of South Africa. It is named after Scottish miners who panned for gold in the area in the late 1800s.The falls is located directly on R532. Pay at the entrance (R15 per adult as of Oct 2019), plenty of parking near curio stalls. There are public toilet facilities as well.Visitors walk through and behind the curio stalls 4-5 minutes to a single viewpoint where you will see a small river dropping water around 70 metres down into a natural pool sandwiched into a narrow and very green gorge. It is nice scene, even during the dry season when only a moderate volume of water is falling from the river above.Overall, the views of Mac Mac Falls are nice to see, worth making the 10-15 minute stop when driving the Panorama Route between Sabie and Graskop.

5 minute walk to falls, R15 pp , only complaint is really ugly 8 ft tall fence blocking view . Beautiful falls and canyon though, clean bathrooms and souvenirs .

Awesome view and easy walk to the viewpoint. Not stroller friendly, so you would have to carry your little companions. Sound of water gets louder as you approach the view point. Kids loved it!

Mac Mac Falls is a really beautiful place.The waterfall is a 70 meter fall and the viewing platform gives a great perspective of the waterfall. We were there after some good rain so the area is green and lush.I took a few slow-mo on @SamsungMobile @GalaxyNote8 and that was Awesome.It is tourist friendly with local crafts available from teak bowls, Africsn animal sculptures to bead work and other memorabilia.We felt safe with a well dressed security guard. Its just R10 per person over 6 years old with sufficient parking.

Hopefully in the rainy season its very beautiful, nice hike to view points, curio shops and local arts and crafts on displaySome brave the hike a long walk to the pools below, ensure safety gear if going for a swim.

It was such an amazing experience to see the waterfall and all its beauty. Fantastic place to go to and watch how beautiful this world really are. Would certainly visit again if I am in the area.Only one thing, the ladies selling their crafts are kind of annoying and begging for you to buy their crafts.

Nice fall but you can only see it from a small platform which is surrounded by a large fence. The devious route from about 1h was just partly worth it.

Abit of a run down mess, but the falls makes it worthwhile. Ensure you wear proper footwear as the walk isn’t the best. We visited just before 5pm and the lighting at the falls were great. It’s a pity pictures needed to be taken through steel bars at the viewing spot.

After passing through sabie and graskop these falls give you the perfect start for a full day in the panorama route.Falling from high, it gives rise to a whole green ecosystem growing around it thanks to the mist it provides.Entrance is R10 p/p and in thr parking lot you can find lots of nice pieces of african art at modest prices, and best of all, different from what you usually find around.The walk to the outlook is about 5 min.Dont go if the day is cloudy, chances are you might not see much.

A longish walk to the viewing point from the open parking lot. Good souvenir shops on the way.. beautiful waterfall and one can take an alternative route to the base for swimming and Cliff diving.

Amazing waterfall, but the viewing point is obscured by too much safety fencing. The parking is very close to the falls and only a short walk is needed, which can be completed by most ages/abilities.
