If you actually never seen a tropical rainforest you used to study about in geography lessons at school, this is the place to be.Still standing with thick vegetation, tall trees with 3 canopies.Once inside, the darky silent nature of the forest gives you a relaxation youre yet to experience. You hear the birds singing and monkeys chartering among others. Those that love nature walks its a great place to give a try. There are many more other adventures you can do in Mabira such as zip lining at the Griffin falls
If you want a breath of very fresh air....this is the place o go.
Traveling through Uganda has been an amazing experience, love the calm and people.
Refreshing with cool breeze, community and the rosted chicken
Hiking experience is the best.
The air is always fresh
Sadly we are losing most of it to deforestation 😫😫

Along time ago mabira lived up to its name Mabira means forest hence Mabira Forest, lately all the trees seen along the main Jinja High have been cut its nolonger thick and relief rain falldue to deforestation to creat land for Sugarcane plantation.

I love the coolness of the breeze from the forest, the canopy that gives such a cooling effect, the chirping birds with lovely melodies. But the danger of the road haunts this natural wonder. Many have lost lives on the road that goes through......
Its realy beautiful. U cn always stop en have a picnic from the forest en its realy safe.
The biggest natural forest fully green
Nice ,natureAnd very calm weather
I work from within mabira and believe me its the best you will ever visit once we talk forests
A beautiful breathtaking natural rainforest. Serenity at its best.
Alot of collective conservation efforts need to be put forward before the remaining forest cover is completely depleted. Its nevertheless a great botanical center and birders paradise
This forest is a leftover of the typical east African Rainforests! We hope that people are clever enough to protect that pice of nature for the following generations!
Tall unique trees. Is an endangered forest as illegal logging & forest encroachers are quickly eating away the forest cover.
Looks like Covid lockdown hasnt been kind to this place. Renovations are needed urgently most especially around the swimming pool. Overall seems to be a good place to stay the night
Great forest and a good place for a forest walk and many other tourism activities in the forest try it today and hey the answer will be positive

Two nights at this Lodge with an amazing experience, primates, birds and more importantly the giant pangolin
Its so nice, at rain forest Lodge you will do a nature walk in the heart of the forest where u will see, various tree species including the quinine tree used for malaria medicine
Mabira is indeed a rainforest ,Serene and well protected, very accessible from Kampala and jinja
The biggest forest in Uganda with a variety of tree species.best place for educational tours, picnics, camping
So peaceful, quiet with only the sounds of the rain forest animals
I am a resident of the area, but each time I look at there Mabira its self I just wonder of how it will be in the next five years.Personally am gone do a course concerning the environment (environmentalistbut I really dont know whether after the 3-4 year the nature that existed and still existing shall be there.Simply it has been always my wish to work here.
Its always about 10 degrees cooler in the rain forest than the rest of the area. Fresh air, green, birds, monkeys, and peaceful - when you get away from the road. To bad so many trees are being poached. This precious jewel is dwindling so fast.
Rainforest lodge was a beautiful and tranquil place.
The place where nature fills the journey to and from Kampala. The forest is fascinating to pass through with the best ambiance and fresh air flow. It is away from noise and the busy towns of Jinja and Kampala. Where one can take a nature walk or a forest trip to see the beautiful species of animals, plants and birds found in the pearl of Africa.
Gives you a serene environment as you approach the Nile river... Surely amazing!
The breeze here feels so cool... Stopped by for pictures. However take caution when stopping here cars drive thru so fast.
A beautiful place with great accomodation. Nestled in the forest it has a rustic theme, well designed and very cosy. The food was great and the service was excellent. Perfect weekend escape.
Peaceful Forest, good resort inside
Good drive, and very tasty road-side roasted chicken at a very affordable rate.Drive safe, wear a seatbelt and I would not recommend a night drive through this Forrest. Though the area is generally secured you never know what creepers are in any Forrest after dark
Very thick Forest, colubus Monkeys swinging all over, beautiful birds on the trees, there is a logde inside called the rain forest lodge, very comfortable, good food and outstanding customer service
Very cool and nice to be there.Different tree species and amazing wild life sounds

Beautiful sceneries, variety of tree species, cool and mild temperature and perfectly conducive environment
