There’s museum at 3rd floor.Photo is not possible here. For foreign visitors,it cost 7000 each.If you have few knowledge on gems like me, here can open your eyes on them.Actually after visit,I still know few on that.It takes up to one hour, that’s enough. The 1st floor is a maker place for shopping.
Good
Actually Myanmar gems museum and gem mart, and Myanmar gems trade centre are two separarate buildings, located together side by side.Myanmar gems museum is on the top floor, ticket fee MMK 7000.- , no bag, camera and mobile are not allowed to bring in, have to be kept in locker.Quite intteresting. There is guide for simple description about those display. There are different kinds of gems displaced. The lady guide even showed the pleasant sound from jade by knocking on a piece of jade. Amazing
There is only one floor for exhibition, while the ticket need 7000 MMK. The shops there you can make bargain, most of the products looks make in China.

One stop shopping for Gems and jewelleys
As well as exibition the guide is good.Their explanation made me get more interest in gems and stones.
This is a nice place to visit for gemstone lovers. The exterior and interior building is old. There are a total 4 floors, only the top floor is the gem museum. The rest of the 3 floors are shops that sells the gems. This is a government operated museum. There is an entrance fee of 5usd for foreign to enter the gem museum at level 4. No phones & bags are allowed in the museum. They will provide you with a locker. There are local guide inside to explain to you the different gemstones. It is safer to buy gemstones from here if you have doubt about those shops in Bogyoke Aung San Market. However, the price here are slightly more expensive compared to those in Bogyoke market.
Good place to buy Gems if you like to haggle
Can buy a lot of Gems and jewellery with fair price.
Myanmar Gems Museum is a museum devoted to precious Burmese gem stones, which is very renowned in Asia. It’s a government operated museum, commercialized by its entrance fees. The museum is located at one of its floor of a four-story building. The Gems Mart at the Gems Museum contains the gems that are mined in Myanmar and consists of large number of stores, and sells high-quality raw and finished gem products, offering rubies, sapphires, pearls, jade and many more, all are highly expensive. One will enjoy and learn by seeing the way gems appear before cutting, polishing and finishing, which is very interesting. The mart is a nice place to visit for the gems lovers.Theres not much to see at the "museum" but there are several floors where you can shop for every type of gem and jewelry. If you are concerned about Bogyoke Aung San Market, it is safe to buy here.
Good to see if you are interested in Jade...
