MOTO SUSHI in Glendale
Description
Privilege
Good, fresh, interesting taste.A bit pricy.Small space, limited sitting.Limited parking.Fast service.
MoreWe have been enjoying Moto for over 10 years, and this is the first time we have been disappointed. They have raised their prices, which is understandable due to the pandemic, however they shouldnt change the amount or quality of their sushi. The rolls were very small, so the amount of food we got for the price we payed disappointing. In our cucumber wrapped roll, we could barely see the slices of fish they were so small. It was almost as if they made the rolls smaller to fit in the small togo containers. We definitely wont be ordering take out from them again.
MoreThe toro was incredible as was the New Zealand white salmon. Blue crab roll delicious and the oysters too. Love their mackerel and their omelette nigiri. Also highly recommend the yellow tail and eel.Staff very friendly and easy going but always on the case. Can’t wait to go back.
MoreThe food was great, but it was the horrible service that ruined the whole experience. The server was horrendous, and on top of it the server put fried batter in a sushi roll when I can’t have gluten.. I spit it out before swallowing it, had her remake the roll, and she still tried to charge us for the roll.. there was no apology or effort in their end to make up for their big mistake. I would of come back here, but because the service was so bad, I will not be a repeated customer.
MoreService was great very friendly food was amazing
The worst service ever! The waitress made us feel very bad. We left $19 tip and she angrily requested $60.What about the prices of your sushi? Why did you make everything 30-40% more expensive???We will never return to this horrible place.Remember! Tipping is not compulsory and you must be very thankful for every cent you receive!
MoreThe sushi is good but not amazing, The down fall to this place is the little amount u get for the expensive price u pay.
MoreWow. The sushi and sashimi was world class.
The food was delicious. And it was ready on time. They didnt forget anything in the order either. However, the portion and sizes for their sushi dishes were way smaller than what they charge for it.
MoreThe restaurant is located in a shopping plaza. The parking lot was full so you might need to park on side street but not a big issue.Walked inside was immediately greeted and welcomed. I was told to just pick a table to sit on. It was bit on the warmer side inside the small restaurant.I started looking at the menu and it was really small. Then I notices the prices of the " Premium Rolls". They only offered 25 premium rolls and all of them were heavy jazzed up with sauses, which not a fan of. I like to taste the freshness of the fish. The service was on point but does not make it ok to charge Beverly Hill prices. The cheapest roll was a cucumber roll which was a premium roll at $18.99. There are half dozen great sushi restaurants within 1 mile away I know of that you can get you moneys worth. I decided to stick with the regular simple rolls because only rolls on menu without heavily saused. The end of our dinner the bill was $170.00 with tip for 2 people. I did leave somewhat hungry. The simple rolls were pretty pricey. The only other issue because the restaurant being really small. The sushi chef started chopping on cutting board which was pretty loud. It startled a little child and made her cry, she kept crying and chopping continued. At end of the day in my opinion it was not worth the price or experience, they offered nothing special.
MoreToday is the second time here and I waited 5 minutes in the hall to be seated. The entrance says “Please wait to be seated”. I came alone and felt awful waiting. There was plenty of room at the sushi table. I don’t feel welcomed, sucks because I love the food here
MoreHappy to have you back. My wife and I ate dinner there last night. Services was great and the food was delicious as always.
MoreI had a nice dinner here and the service was excellent. It’s a nice, casual sushi spot with a good menu. My edamame was crisp and my Moto Roll was well presented and tasted great. I’d rate it 5 stars except for the fact that they don’t accept Amex. I understand that Amex charges merchants higher processing fees but that’s not a valid excuse nowadays. My company provides me an Amex card and since I’m traveling for work I am required to use the card. I come to LA about 12 - 15 times per year and keep a list of good restaurants, etc. in each city. Unfortunately I won’t be adding Moto Sushi to my Glendale list.As a business owner I believe in making it as easy possible for the customer to spend money. They need to start accepting Amex and stop saving nickels only to lose dimes.
MoreWe love this place!!! The best sushi Ive ever had, so fresh and they have a good variety of fish, flavorful roll creations and sauces. Very clean place. They are so friendly and humble. We are so lucky to have them in our neighborhood.
MoreNothing compares from this sushi place. Their premium sushi are phenomenal. Its amazing how they combine flavors and create a great dish. This is a must eat here. My favorite dish here is Apple Protein Premium sushi.
MoreMost spectacular sushi in Los Angeles County. Family-owned, and sourced fresh every day. The service is wonderful and the menu is so great. Prices are very fair too. Highly recommend it here!
MoreDelicious, fresh and friendly.
Delicious food! Will definitely go back soon. We especially loved the Baked Salmon Roll 😊
MoreMoto Sushi is flawless perfection. It’s privately owned, and the family hand-picks the fish each day. They are priced right, the portions are great, and the fish is absolutely amazing. The salads, sounds and chicken is terrific as well. To-Go orders are ready when they say they will be, and the service is 5-Star quality, every time. We eat here 4-5 times a week.
MoreMy go to sushi restaurant in Glendale. Pricing is very fair relative to the quality of the sushi. Definitely ask what is fresh and go with the recommendations. The sweet shrimp, when in season, is a must!
MoreThis is one of the best sushi places in the area. There ingredients are always fresh, and the sushi and sashimi are Tokyo quality.PROS: Crab Hand Rolls, Salmon Toro, Tuna Toro, and their daily specials. They are also open for lunch! Really cant say enough good things about the menu.CONS: They arent closer to my house. If this were within walking distance I would eat here every day.
MoreI love the sushi here. Its ways so good. The rolls are a bit skinny and small but taste good. I think its a bit over priced. But since I have not found another place I like that makes tasty sushi I keep coming back. They know what there doing and friendly staff.
MoreOk so we all know where the great sushi spots in LA are... and Glendale is not one of them. But this place guys is really good. Its in a small shopping center. North of glenoaks on pacific. Give it shot... you will be pleasantly suprised.
MoreI was in a "not hungry but I can eat" mood. Usually only eat a roll and a half to myself, but... I ate two rolls, a cup of miso soup, and the chocolate-raspberry gelato dessert. So impressed!!
MoreVery good sushi, came here twice on my week long work trip. Service was great and so is the price.
MoreAlways excellent. Make sure you sit in front of the chef at the bar & let him take care of your pieces,if youre a sashimi eater
MoreNice decor - the walls are painted black and have minimal decor. The waitresses were kind, and efficient. The tempura was excellent, as was all else.
MoreIf youre looking for authentic high quality sushi, this is where you should go. The place is not so fancy but youll surely enjoy your meal.
MoreOne of the freshest sushi spots I’ve been to in LA. They are Japanese owners and provide exceptional service. The rolls are absolutely delicious and the fish is so fresh, I can’t emphasize that enough! Thank you so much Moto for putting your heart and soul into your food. ありがとうございました! おいしい 😊
MoreVery good and fresh. They offer a lot of unique daily items that you rarely find in other sushi restaurants.
MoreWe had a very nice dinner here on a Sunday night. Great service and good food. Most importantly, the music was playing not too loudly, Im tired of many places where you cant even hear the person in front of you because of the obnoxious music. :)
MoreI eat A LOT of sushi all over L.A. and this is the place I consistently go back to. They have a special take on spicy hand rolls and it’s delicious. Spicy Albacore Spicy Yellowtail, Spicy Salmon, and Spicy Tuna hand rolls are my go to. Everything is fresh. It is a little pricey but not overwhelming and who wants cheap sushi anyway. Their portions are good and the owners are very personable. THIS IS A GEM.
MoreMy friend David took me here for lunch on a recent business trip. I make sushi back home, which means Im very picky over quality. This was some excellent Sushi, fresh, well presented, and we were completely pleased with the whole experience. I would personally recommend Moto Sushi to all my family and friends. So I would absolutely recommend that you try it yourself, today!
MoreIf youre in Glendale and are in the mood for sushi, you definitely have to try MOTO Sushi. Ive tried the best of the best sushi in Los Angeles and I can tell you its the top best places for sushi in Glendale. Try the spicy tuna, which they make unique in there own way. They add a little bit of crunch to it. The shrimp tempura is pluffy and crunchy. Definitely a must try if you are in the area and are craving sushi!
More$68 - 16pc chefs choice sashimi. $38 - 4pc. Bluefin Toro sushi. Fish was OK. Absurd prices.
MoreBest sushi Ive had in Glendale. Not cheap but worth it. 2 adults and 1 child. We basically ate all we could and it cost about $100. Worth every penny. The Toro was amazing! Will def be back.
MoreSushi is always great and super fresh. Servers are really sweet and attentive. They know the menu really well and can give great recommendations. Love this place!
MoreThis place is a hidden gem. Tucked in a nondescript strip mall they serve sushi on par with much fancier restaurants. Fish is always super fresh and very affordable given the quality. Service staff is always friendly and courteous.
MoreAwesome sushi selection. Fresh sushi is legit and truly fresh. Kanpachi and Hamachi are always amazing here. Toro is melt in your mouth! Great service too! Cups are always filled, empty plates are always taken promptly! A really good sushi gem in Glendale! Family friendly too! Tables are spaced out enough that you dont smell the person next to you haha!
MoreTo date, I stand by Moto Sushi being among the top 5 Japanese restaurants in Glendale. That being said, the food is obviously excellent, while unfortunately pricey for their location/atmosphere (prices similar to Katsuya; ~$20 per premium roll with tax).A two person meal runs ~ $100 with beer. Ouch.Parking is difficult and the plaza is often full being there are only 3 or 4 spots for Moto customers. Service was quick and excellent.Honestly, more realistic pricing would make this spot absolutely blow up, as this area is in sore need of a great sushi spot thats regularly affordable.
Morepretty interesting American style sushi rolls with great service. the normal sushi and sashimi offerings were quite good as well, fish was fresh. however I felt the rice was slightly overcooked and did not have that subtle vinegary, sweet rice flavour and mild chewiness that good Japanese rice has. still worth going to.
MoreGood enough sushi, awful ambiance & slow, neglectful servers. Good price I guess? Sucks to be in a restaurant waiting for your food watching four servers cluster around the TV instead of doing their job. If I wanted some football game on in the background Id go to a sports bar. Hate having tv at restaurants, its loud and distracting. I have a better tv at home, if I want to watch something Ill order takeout.
MoreA local favorite!! We eat at Moto 3 times a week and love the owners . They always make you feel special and create unique rolls and authentic sushi for us. Staff is friendly, fish is always fresh and the best sushi in town
MoreThe best sushi restaurant in the area of the foothills. Very friendly staff and excellent food. The spicy tuna is particularly tasty!
MoreVery surprising to have a "quality -sushi" food joint in a small corner of Pacific here in Glendale.Even you get it for "pick-up" the presentation was taken into attention.Love it! We are a fan :)All staffs are so attentive and very friendly. I hope you guys, keep up the great work.Thats why you guys are always busy.
MoreLiterally some of the best sushi Ive ever had!!! I recommend this place without hesitation. The staff is friendly, humble, and pretty quick with preparation. They are very knowledgeable of the menu and always willing to discuss other items you may like. This great family owned sushi restaurant has become a staple for me for sure! Their spicy tuna hand roll is amazing.
MoreSo delicious! Here right now. The prices re reasonable, especially for sushi this good.
MoreOk guys, you guys are lucky to have this family run restauarnt in town. We have been to this fine sushi restaurant for over 10 years, too bad they moved from Mississauga. So far, they are only 2nd to the fresherness of sushi in Tsukiji Market in Japan, other than that, that would the the best sushi place you will find for a reasonable price. Give it a try if u r into sushi, u wont regret it.
MoreThey have great sushi, but on mulitiple occasions now they dont pickup their phone(4 different days).... I ended up order from another place. Guess they dont want the business.
Morewow wow wow! used to be you had to go down to little tokyo, to sushi gen, for really great, fresh, amazing, real sushi. enter moto sushi, out of nowhere, they appear in glendale, bringing this caliber of sushi without the irritating journey or parking ordeal! really friendly (of course, right? theyre from canada, enough saidand taught us new things on our first visit, and great at describing the qualities of the different fish. i am so beyond happy theyve come to town.
