Acclaimed public art exhibits, swimming pool, baseball diamonds, gym & 2 playground areas.
This park is beautiful and has a lot of potential but the homeless have taken over and it feel unsafe at times. I wish someone would do something about it.
Love that they had a special section for toddlers and shaded areas with tables
This park has been around for ages. It could use some major improvements.
Moody Park was cool, breezy, lots of sunshine. Not very crowded, peaceful, calm.
Wow, I must admit this is one beautiful park!!:The staff at the community center are very friendly and helpful, the community in of itself is very friendly and helpful! Plus its right next to the Redline train-which is accessible right downtown Houston. Theres also a huge thrift store right down the street..Awesome!!:)Definitely recommended and commendable!!:)
Me and my brother came here worked out once everything was ok but than I guess they didn’t like that we where (black)so the next time we came in they gave us problems asking us to sign more papers when the lady before said that everything was done online and that all we had todo was call before time and we could use the basketball court and gym.
Great place to bring kids. The staff are very friendly and professional. The greenspace/park grounds is spacious and pretty.
Its nice but it started raining, would definitely come back in better weather 🤗
A nice park. Its big. Outdoor places to throw the meat on the grill, two baseball/softball parks and two full tennis courts. Big covered basketball courts and playgrounds for the tikes.Inside the center is a gym, basketball, and a local voting station when that comes around. Its pretty nice. Right off the Moody Park light rail station. The landscaping is nice and new saplings are planted. Lots of parking and they keep up the garbage. The porto-potties are well maintained.Nearby is a grocery store, so thats a plus, in case you need beer or sodas or stuff you forgot.
Its actually quite nice. My first visit. The Light Rail stops here & there be porta pottys.
Today we voted at Moody Park Community Center. It was very well organized and clean. They had quite a few people there to help manage the line and direct people. We went between noon and 1:00 PM and there was no waiting.
Peaceful and quiet had a pizza in my car homeless out of sight I wouldnt use the portable RRs ,watch youre 6 and always protect yourself
Great community center. Used to be kinda rough but its really cleaned up. Have a good and affordable kids summer day camp program.
Great facility but only if you can see through the tall grass. The city never got their mower back from joes repair shop since he filed for bankruptcy and went out of business.
This has been my park i have been raised around this area and so far we enjoy our selves to play now safe tennis and keep social distance this park has history with my parents when they were inmigrantes but we are blessed to be here still alive to come to this park
ITS A GREAT PLACE THE FIELDS ARE WELL KEPT FOR THE VARIOUS TYPES OF GAMES THAT ARE PLAYED, ITS NOT THE A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN SUN BATH, AND I CAN ATTEST TO THIS FIRST HAND MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WERE TRYING TO GET SOME SUN AND SOME KIND OF PARK GROUNDS / SECURITY WORKER CONFRONTED US AND INFORMED MY GIRLFRIEND AND I THAT SHE COULD NOT LAY DOWN TO GET SUN, MY GIRLFRIEND ASK THE GENTLEMAN IF THIS IS SOME KIND OF LAW AND HE SAID THAT ITS A CITY ORDENACE WELL ITS HOUSTON AND I AM SURE THAT IT IS FOR A GOOD REASON OTHER THAN THAT ITS A GOOD PLACE TO ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS AND PART OF THIS GREAT CITY OF H-TOWN...WATCH OUT FOR THE SUN BLOCKER J. GONZALEZ NO NEED FOR SPF-15 ON HIS WATCH LOL
They are still closed closed as of 06/15/2020 due to the COVD19 Pandemic. Otherwise, pleasant park
Horrible Place! So many homeless people sleeping there that its nothing but crime, violence and drug dealings. My brother war recently pistol whipped there in plane daylight, he could of died. Thank God he did not. There is absolutely no lighting, long spaces of empty pitch black darkness! Its a disturbing nightmare!
This is a place where Community comes together. The playground is wheelchair accessible. There is an awning in the front that will shield people from the rain while waiting for transportation walking trails, indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, and its all accessible.
Took care of my early voting within 10 minutes. It was full but still had plenty of parking spaces. Everything was clean inside & out.
My little brother plays his basketball games here the bathrooms are very clean and staff is very nice
Play area is good for the kids. They have a tennis court and have a long trail to walk also they have a baseball fields. They have a public pool that opens once school is out. And they have a community center that hostess different things
The service was good, didnt wait long to be seated and I didnt have to ask for refills, it was done before I returned to my table. The plate recovery was done before returning to the table as well, the food was good and the price was fair, all in all a nice place to eat 👍
Awesome place. Free programs unlike the center at Memorial Hermann .
Moody Park crawls with homeless activity after hours. During business hours its a great place for families with kids. Occasionally, police have to be called to the park.
Coach Gilberts are very good coaches
Moody park is a large park with lots of room for events and dogs family but not so great for when theres a small family with 3 kids...not enough playground equipment 😏
Lots of wide open space. Little playgrounds for the kids. So many homeless people though. You would find them mostly by the public pool by the baseball field past the basketball court. Definitely wouldnt swim here at the public pool because some have gone swimming there and came out with lice somehow. Really shady and suspicious around 5 when the sun starts to dip a little.
Good place to have fun with family and friends come out today
Very big and fun!
Moody Park with swimming pool basketball court BBQ Pitts picnic tables ancient trees. must seems
The park was nice. The potatoes potty were nasty. Being that theres a couple of baseball fields you would think they would clean it often. Disgusting to say the least.
Awesome spot with a great staff and good people who were there for Boot Camp and Volleyball play. My first time here and if I am able to be on this side again, I will come back. I was welcomed and treated well. Thank you to the fellas and ladies that were there tonight. I really enjoyed myself.
Clean. Wide open spaces. Theres an outside basketball court, baseball/softball fields, the swimming pool was closed at the time. A playground for the children. There werent any public restrooms available but, there were a couple of port-a-cans on the south side of the park. It was a Saturday, and the main building was closed. Its also located near the Red Line light rail.
Pretty nice facility. It has a gymnasium, a few rooms, vending machines and a workout area. I was there for a conference so I didnt get to explore it all that well, but from what I saw the community center can be used for many purposes.
There is a pool here for the children. Its a community place. They have places to barbeque and playgrounds for the kids. They have open BBQ grills, soccer fields, basketball courts and an ice cream vendor can usually be found near by.
Great place to run. One loop around the park is close to one mile. Be sure to plan ahead, once it gets dark the park is not well lit. The park also has a couple of playgrounds and a community rec. center. Its not the best part of Houston, but safe enough.
Cool friendly caring staff. Cant find good people like this now of days not the biggest place but they work hard to keep it running and CLEAN!!!
Its a great place for kids especially now in the summer time with the pool being open... I personal go to the Rec Center to work out in there weight room, which is clean and very well kept. ..
Very nice. Very well maintained. Super friendly staff. Light rail has kind of messed with accessibility these days. Thats not Moody Parks fault. Its just one of those things
Great for affordable working out
Chill laid back place to enjoy being outside.
Awesome experience. Perfect programs for healthy activities and plenty stuff for the kids to do. Ive been going there for three decades and its still a great place to free my mind.
Moody park bbq grilles children play area and soon a swimming pool
Considering the neighborhood the facility is amazing. Meeting room was clean and pleasant. Parking was easy to access but the MetroRail line made it interesting to leave and get back to the freeway.
My daughter practices and participates in a soccer program called soccer for success. The coaches and league are just starting up and getting their bearings so I have no issue with them. The fields they practice in are in good condition but the parking lot is horrible! Huge pot holes and no parking lines for cars to park which then leads to people parking too far from each other and causing other vehicles not to have enough space to park. There have even been instances where parks&Rec have threatened to issue tickets for cars not parked in the "lines". Lots of players and family come here and there is not enough space for everyone to park. People have to park down the road near the area where the pool is and forcing people to walk to the fields. Please fix the parking lot! It really needs work.
My daughter kenna wanted to swim so I loaded my SUV with her & all 7 of her friends to enjoy a swim on a very hot & sunny day .They had a blast at Moody Pool .I highly recommend parents to take their children here b/c it was very clean.
PeacE! Great Staff! Very Clean inside weight room! But 2 many transients. Concerned for safety of kids outside not just my kid. Otherwise I would have given higher rating😎 PeacE! El Awakened 1
Great scenery but I worry about bringing kids. There are homeless people that sleep in the gazebos. I was here on Easter having a BBQ with my family when a homeless guy walked by shouting profanity. It wasnt directed at us, but still profanity in front of the kids, nonetheless.
The park is very peaceful, with the green grass, tall, shady trees, and picnic tables for family gatherings. It also has grills so that you may cook hot dogs, hamburgers, or flip a steak or two! There is an area for small children to slide down yellow slides, swing as high as they can on the swing set, and play"King of the Mountain" on the jungle gym.I find the most fabulous spots to enjoy solitude and mediate or write creatively in my journal, as the gentle breeze whispers words of poetry in my mind. The tall, shady trees provide shade; the bayou makes quiet tricking sounds; as the sun glistens off of the water as it slowly, trickles down stream!I feel it is a wonderful place for family, fun, and food feasts and brings me great pleasure to share quiet moments with God!!I suggest that as a family, couple, or solo - please take the time out of a chaotic, hectic, or stressful life, to go visit Moody Park, located in the central part of Houston, off of Fulton, between Patton Street and before Boundary!!
