Vegan health food done right!Most vegan restaurants and options are junk food (fried and/or highly processed). Not the case with Mixt!We have been there twice so far. Pablo is super friendly and helpful (he even took us on an incredibly adventurous hike, and is considering making that an optional tour included with food! Ask him about it!The whole staff does a great job.Highly, highly recommend if you want vegan options that are not only delicious but exceptionally healthy. Even the deserts, while very tasty, didn’t leave us feeling bloated or like we just had a cheat meal. Healthy and tasty combined is the perfect combination!If you’re a vegan passing through San Jose and you don’t check out Mixt you are missing out on a great experience in Costa Rica! ❤️

Amazing, completely VEGAN food!! My forever favorite thing here is the Tico rap but I have had plenty of other things that have all been delicious. The asian salad, the caprese panini, zlt, tomato soup, banana bread, etc. are all so good, and a great size for the price. Service is quick and friendly and the atmosphere is perfect. Everything is fresh and well made. Can’t wait to go back next time in in San Jose!

You can’t go wrong with any of the items in this restaurant. The ambience is so nice and the staff is very friendly. I recommend this place to any of my fellow vegans and I’m so glad my wife and I were able to try it out! We even ordered some extra food to-go just so we could have some for later! 10/10 on everything! Amazing!!!!

We just went here because the reviews looked good, and were very glad we did. We ordered a couple things to go.Firstly, they carry a really delicious kombucha brand called Brents Brews, so thats nice.We got some beet hummus, a couple mushroom paninis, a wrap, tomato soup, a small salad (which Im not even sure we ordered), and cookies.The hummus itself was delicious, though by the time we got home the pita chips were a little stale (Id prefer to never get pita chips anywhere because theyre almost always stale).The mushroom paninis with tomato soup was great, however. Very rich, not aggressively mushroomy, like when the mushroom water makes the bread soggy, but rather meaty and wholesome. The bread was good quality, and the cheesy filling was fantastic. The soup was also good. Nicely savory, good balance.The wrap was great. It contained rice, beans, papaya, pico de gallo, and marinated tofu. It was filling, wholesome, yet very flavorful and texturally pleasing. Definitely something Id go back for.The unexpected salad was also delicious, which unfortunately is not often the case in Costa Rica. It was fairly simple, but had a delightful blend of cilantro, lime juice, onion, and tomato flavoring the greens. Very bright, very nice, not overpowering at all.And finally Im always on the hunt for chocolate chip cookies and these were solid. Chewy, soft, warm, nicely dark chocolate chips. Might be even better finished with a tiny sprinkle of flaked sea salt (or smoked salt). Mmm. I digress.And for what its worth, neither of us is vegan. We just like going out for good plant food, and its always nice to find a place like this that makes really good food and cares about what they serve.

Very tasty, fresh and healthy vegan food. Lots of vegetables, so very refreshing when you’ve been traveling for a while and are starved of veggies. The homemade lemonades and cookies are also delicious and on top of all the staff is super friendly! The manager even went to buy avocado (we arrived late in the evening and they had apparently run out of it), so he could make us the bowl we ordered. This place really deserves its high rating!

We had a lovely dinner at Mixt. The food was excellent and healthy and the restaurant has a great look, with green plants throughout. We enjoyed lentil soup plus fajita salad and banana bread. We also enjoyed our conversation with the owner, a passionate and pleasant vegan Costa Rican man. Highly recommend a visit!

While in San Jose, I had the pleasure of enjoying amazing vegan cuisine at Mixt .Pablo was a delight and we loved all the soups , sandwiches and salads that were made to perfection. We will be loyal customers whenever we are in Costa Rica.

So fresh and so clean. Amazing quick food that is colorful and locally sourced. We eat here every other day when were in the city. Try the bowls (Madre Tierra especiallyand chocolate chip cookies... they serve them warm. Yummmm

BEST VEGAN FOOD IN COSTA RICA 🥳🥳🥳 my husband is an especially fussy eater and he loved everything we ordered on the menu, the salads, Buddha bowls, sandwiches, soups, paninis, cookies and cakes are just to die for. I cannot recommend this place enough the food is just so good

Its not easy to find fresh healthy food in a city you don’t know...I found them searching healthy food near me. I ordered the Tico wrap and was totally blown away by the unique blend of delicious flavors. The marinated tofu was the best I’ve ever tasted and the sweetness of the plantains goes so well with the other ingredients..I am so happy I found this place! The food is absolutely delicious and the staff was so friendly! We had a Fiesta Wrap, Caprese Panini, and walnut banana bread. I will definitely come back here next time we visit Costa Rica!

I really liked place, food and owner!Tried several paninis which tasted awesome. Had a nice crunch. Tomato soap was very tasty as well. Since I was hooked I also tried the wrap Tico. Holy Cow. That wrap is a must have! Cake with "sock" coffee was also delicious. We left full and satisfied.

I had the tico wrap with double tofu and wow, so damn good, 100% vegan and pretty healthy too 👌the banana + choc cake was also off the charts, perfectly moist! I’ll be back for sure!

Excellent vegan in the middle of San Jose. Proprietor is welcoming, pleasant and speaks perfect English. We had the outstanding mushroom melt panini and the tico wrap which had the loveliest lizano-flavored tofu. This will be our lunch time stop every time we are in San Jose!
