MAME - Coffee shop in Zürich (Kreis 2), Switzerland
Great, smooth house roast. Loved my cappuccino here! Nice service and bouncy playlist:)
I really like Mame for its high quality coffee. The two drawbacks I would see is that they are even more expensive than other high priced coffee places and that the atmosphere, in my humble opinion, is rather loud and not too cozy.
Amazing experience and a great explanation of coffee adventure! Recommending!
Great quality coffee, knowledgeable and friendly staff.Delicious chocolate chip cookies too.
Very good coffee
My daughter and her partner are coffee connoisseurs so while we were visiting Zürich, this cafe was on the list. The decor is nice, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and all of our selections were delicious. We had a mix of filtered coffee, flat white and a cappuccino. Do yourself a favor and drop in.
A top third wave café in Zurich. This place is for people who care about coffee. There is a wide selection of beans to choose from (which is unusual and could be overwhelming to a new comer and may require a few visits to find what beans suit youwith a “flavour profile chart“ right behind the counter to help you make up your mind - I know, you’re thinking “how can I make any decision BEFORE having a coffee?” - life is tough! Each coffee, from espressos to lattes, is prepared to perfection. All beans can be bought in store if we like preparing coffee at home. On a week-end I opt for takeaway but if you sit down you’ll enjoy the simple but beautiful presentation.
Very good coffee. Too bad the service is not so good! Always long waiting times even if there’s not a big queue and high chance of not getting what you ordered.
Lunch was delicious!!you make your own salad bowls . Choice of grain , vegetables and protein. It was very tastey .Will defentially go back....
Professional barista, exceptional free coffee! Try GINA!
Great coffee and nice spot. Needs a little patience when there is even small a queue.
Delicious flat white, especially the iced Oatly one
Tasty third wave specialty coffee in Zurich. A great selection of single origin beans to choose from - all 100% arabica. The staff are attentive, lovely, and clearly both knowledgeable and passionate. They offer espresso and filter / pour over. The beans are each dialed in separately and adjusted to depending on the order - see the recipes on the chart. They provide some food and drink options and table service. You are also able to purchase a variety of freshly roasted beans in cans of 250 grams each. Coffee equipment is available for purchase. Credit cards are accepted, and prices are on the high side - but Id rather pay more for a high quality coffee than pay less and not enjoy it as much. Overall a very tasty coffee and I will certainly be a repeat customer.
If you want to try special or different coffee, I recommend it. Kind friendly staffs. Good place
The best specialty coffee I found in Zurich👌
Extremely slow, tables were dirty no water and dirty glasses, it looks so unorganised. Coffee is alright but no latte art, not worth it for 10min wait.
Very very slow service & 1st time i see iced coffee in a closed-lid cup
The coffee is really good but the interior is less fancy that on the pictures. If you are looking for some place to sit in the morning with your coffee that’s a perfect spot. It’s quiet, people are nice, no one bothers you. It’s not an “Instagramable” place but very nice for a slow morning time ☕️
That was the best espresso I’ve ever had. The barista knows what he’s about and helped pick out the perfect roast.
Great place to read or work for 1-2 hours. The Flat White (you can individually choose the beansis the best coffee I have had in Zurich thus far.
Delicious coffee, friendly service, nice interior!
One of the best coffees in Zürich! Friendly staff!
Great coffee, maybe almost too much choice :D , the Porchetta Salad bowl is beautiful and delicious. Friendly people. Above all house made Pastel de Nata.
One of my favorite coffee shops I’ve ever been to. I was very impressed by this place. Ordered the Kiaga with black fruity notes in both the filter and espresso form, as well as one of their kombuchas. The baristas were super cool.
Seriously good coffee, served in a friendly and approachable way. Really enjoyed the flights! Wish I had more time in Zurich so I could try more of them.
Great coffees no doubt! Nice atmosphere with chill music… buuuut one staff member is ruining it for everyone, he comes across as extremely unfriendly and arrogant. Today my son received a very hot babychino and I carefully formulated to give feedback by saying it’s the first time this happened and before it was always lukewarm (which is good for a babychino), wanted to avoid this happening to another child. He only gave a smirk and walked away! I have been here many times and all other staff members are friendly and this guy is constantly behaving in this way. Today I decided to not return here.
Tested the espresso, and without any doubt I can say it’s the best espresso I’ve ever tried! Must place to visit when you come to Zürich! 😍😍
Good iced cappuccino and lovely baristas!
Very good coffee (I loved my flat white), which can be customized with different coffee beans. But most of all, personally this macha roll cake was REALLY tasty…. It definitely reminded me of one that I tried in Japan. We also tried decaffeine coffee bean from Mame before and that one was also great for decaffeine coffee. We visited around 10:30am on Sunday and it was quite relaxed, but as soon as it became 11:00am, it became quite crowded. Just minor but important thing to be improved: there was no hand soap and tissue in the restroom.
The coffee was very good, i had a double expresso. The place and stuff, too "hipster", not my style but thats personal, so still 5 stars for the coffee
The ambiance of the coffee shop is quite nice. When ordering I asked specifically for a bean that would not be sour or burned and the barista assured me that the one he recommended is neither. After a long wait (15 minI received a sour Americano. My friend liked his coffee but they messed his order up so he got an Espresso instead of an Americano.
Excellent coffees - we tried three different types of beans in our flat white - and everything was superb. The staff was friendly and welcoming. If we are in Zurich again, we know where to get our coffee fix.
I think this is the best coffee in Zurich. Not knly is there a huge variety of roasts and beans to choose from the staff is very friendly. They offer a great oatmilk and also serve matcha. I live coming to the cafe to read or do a bit of work. In summer its also beautiful to sit outside and enjoy some sunshine. Would totally recommend to try a coffee there.
Beautiful place! Huge space inside and tables outside. Really clean lines in design. We tried the americano with two espressos and wow, best coffee in 🇨🇭! With full consistency and acid notes. 🤎 the best!
I wanted to order a matcha latte with lactose free milk (just regular milk without lactosewhich they did not have and this is a pity. I know that a lot of people are fine with some other alternatives like almond or soy milk but these have quite a presence in such a drink which is why I like the neutral taste of milk. Also, we bought a tiny piece of the matcha roll that cost 7.- and did not even taste like matcha. It was not even worth 3.- to be honest..
great coffee! also love that you can choose your own coffee, never saw that before.
This is the best specialty coffee/espresso cafe in Zurich. They have two branches and they offer at least 6 different specialty coffees at a time, each with very distinct flavour profiles. They source and roast their own. Their espressos are not traditional Italian style (although they have 1 of those as well), instead they are light, modern, fruit and funky forward. I’ve tried Miro and Stoll which are also exceptional cafes who roast their own as well, but I prefer this one.It is also a good place to work when there isn’t a crowd. The baristas are highly knowledgeable and skilled at consistently pulling excellence.Bonita (if availableis an amazing juicy espresso (my favourite so far). La Bretagna is highly unusual and worth a taste. And before Bonita, my fav was Paraiso red.
Mame is the coffee place to visit in Zurich. They have international awards! Super atmosphere and everything is very nicely set up. The coffee is simply amazing, you can choose many types and flavors. They also make some nice sandwiches and have tasty cookies. Very nice staff, I would give 5 stars but unfortunately only one person was attending and the 4 people in the kitchen where basically just standing there….
1 star for service , 5 stars for the coffeeIt’s unfortunate that management have only two staff working on the weekends. One preparing food the other person deals with payments, delivers coffee to tables and makes the expresso. What this means is that the queue goes out the door and you are looking at a 10 minute wait for a coffee. Also as they are so short staffed you can see that the staff are under a great deal of pressure.Management open up your wallet and hire a couple new people 😅Should be someone on the coffee machine making coffees and another staff member taking orders.I walked away after 15mins wait
We loved this place! Espresso maachiato and coffee were fantastic. Our go-to spot for a coffee break in Zurich!
Good coffee but as others have said, theres one particular barista here thats kind of rude, and comes off with a really superior and impatient vibe. Its hard to describe their communication style, but its definitely not welcoming or friendly. Its happened a few times now so I think Ill shop for coffee elsewhere in Zürich.
This is my favorite coffee shop in entire Switzerland. Delicious coffee, tasty snacks and the best matcha lattes in town. Alternative milk is also available.
perfection takes time. The choices of coffee and the knowledge provided by the barista are great. Every shot is pulled to perfection and the taste is impeccable. Definitely recommend going for the coffee experience. However if you go for the quick coffee fix you might have to wait a little.
Very cute little coffee shop. Tasty coffee and nice cookie. Very relaxed atmosphere. Recommended!
One of the best places for coffee in Zürich. They have two locations. Each with its own vibe. The one on Holbeimstrasse seems to be good to sit and work for a while. The one on Josefstrasse is great to grab one to go or for meeting a friend.
One of the best coffee shops in Zurich! However I’m reducing by 2 stars because recently it feels like the music is waaay too loud. 99% of customers are either there to socialize or study/work. You can’t hear people talk or hear yourself think when it’s this loud.**To the management: please fix this ASAP**
We visited this interesting cafe on a Sunday afternoon. The design is nicely done with simple and modern touches. The coffee is the strong point here as the know very well what they are doing.I always enjoy a roastery cafe. The place seems to be family friendly as well. The had some bikes there which I assume is from a shop next to it.The staff very friendly and fast.In conclusion I will definitely visit again and I would recommend to stop by if you are around.
Very hipster vibe with good music and excellent coffee. This is a great place to work, especially in the morning when it is not at all crowded. The staff is very kind and professional.
Best coffee I’ve ever had in Switzerland! Great atmosphere, nice and friendly staffs. I visited both of theirs and I had great experiences at both of them. I genuinely want to come back to Zürich to visit MAME again.
Really cool place to hang out, take a break and enjoy true artisan coffee... Great customer service too. If you want good coffee in Zurich, try this place!
