Luxor Temple in Aswan

One of my favorite temples I’ve visited in Egypt, even it was in the evening/night, the lights were perfect. The temple is beautiful in all its details! You should definitely visit it!📍Luxor Temple, Egypt

Magnificent monument showing the greatness of the Egyptian architecture.There is also a light show running at 18:00. The visitor needs to buy a new ticket for the night show which at the time of writing (Oct 2022costs an extra 180 EGP.The only thing that negatively impacts the atmosphere is the not so good cleaning off the site.Nevertheless a must see historical attraction in the east bank of Nile.

Incredible temple by Ramses ii. Built in 1400s bc, still in amazing condition. We went at 430pm, had benefit of cooler temp, some daylight, sunset and when they turned lights on. Beautiful.

One of the places I wanted to visit the most and my favorite so far from the hystorical places I visited in Egypt. Its just incredible to walk among the columns and admire their beauty.

It is amazing how well preserved this temple is. The way it is lit up in the evening is spectacular. I went late in the day and though there were quite a few people there it wasnt over crowded. I highly recommend!

First visit, early evening but temperature was still in mid twenties. A busy place for tourists, could have better information in different languages. Ive a feeling one of the James Bond films was filmed here (Rodger Moore?).

Super interesting place with an unbelievable amount of thousands of years history. Egyptians, Greek, Roman, ... they all left their marks and scars on the original ancient temple stones.We went here with a guide who showed us many details and told interesting stories around it. Highly recommended to do like this, it prevents you from just walking by history without really knowing what you are looking at

The best place in Luxor!My recommendation to visit in the evening when there’s no crowds of peoplePS. I don’t know why, but it’s the only one historical place in Egypt which is working after 4pm (till 8pm). Of course, after sunset, no one will buy water for $ 2 ))))

The smaller temple compared to the big Karnak temple. We liked it better since it has some very nicely maintained statues and cloumns. In my opinion this temple is all in all nicer and more magical than Karnak. Easy to access from the ship if you are on a nile cruise and quite a bargain in price. Be sure to take a stroll on the newly opened avenue of the sphinxes. It has been newly discovered and connects Luxor temple to the Karnak temple complex.

Visited on a tour of Egypt 4 night’s cruise and 3 nights Cairo. One of the first temples we visited. As most are impressive the forts ones you see are the ones that you remember the most.

Lovely one specially by night.You can see the sphinx passage close to the entrance.Special dinners are done by night.Lovely place.I like this temple very much.Please keep it clean and nice.Try to provide some shades all around.Also you make the electric cars with extra money to go through out the whole temple.All the best.

It is something you must see with your own eyes! This is the best from the ancient Egyptian.We were lucky with our guide explaining everything with patience and give us plenty of time to walk around and explore.Totally recommended!

The ancient city of Luxor, which is also known as Thebes in modern times, is where you can find the Luxor Temple. The temple of Luxor is one of the most impressive destinations to visit in the Luxor region and all of Egypt since it is one of the best-preserved ancient temples and contains a significant amount of structure, statues, and relief carvings that are still in place today.

Beautiful, very busy temple in the middle of Luxor. Large statues depicting the Pharaohs can be seen. Open in the evenings making it a good spot to watch the sunset.

One of the temple in egypt . Nicely preserved. Smaller than karnak temple, but nie to see. Its very close to the nial rever. Even we can see while sailing the river.Ticket for tourists is 90 Egt pounds. Can get near the entrance. We took around one hour to explore all.

This place and Karnak temple are definitely a must visit whenever you come to Luxor. Not just to see big things. It’s to appreciate the sheer scale of capability of the ancient Egyptians and see what architectural wonders they were capable of.

Another absolutely incredible temple, after Karnak, that houses remnants of 3000-4000 year long history! You will see an Islamic mosque thats now become part of it, you will see (the onlyportrait of Alexander the Great as well as many Roman themed structures and paintings built and painted over the original pieces of art.Its hard to fathom that the entire temple was once buried under the sand and there were towns and villages built over it!

Fabulous antiquity place - go and see it sunset time or just before. Then you see it in the daylight and with the lights on afterwards! Fantastic 😁👍

The Luxor temple is significant because it was built with sandstone and its quite close to the Nile. There are several impressive towers and the avenue of Sphinxes is a must see! Its the only place with a temple, coptic church and a mosque in one place.

One of the best preserved temples in upper egypt and even has a depiction of the temple as Relief on one of the walls. Easily accessible since it is directly in the city center. The monumental statues of Ramses II are amazing to see. It is possible to walk directly from Karnak temple to luxor temple through the alley of sphinxes. It should be visited very early to avoid large crowds of people. I advice to get the luxor pass in advance. That way you can visit all historic sites without individual tickets for each attraction.

Right there in the middle of the city Luxor, there is the Luxor temple. Just beside the winter Palace. Fascinating that this temple is so old yet still standing right there. It’s unique to see.

Yet another impressive temple right in the heart of Luxor city. Not as big and astonishing as the Kernek temple which is 3 km away, but still, not to be missed. We visited it late in the evening and the experience was very much different, so I would definitely recommend it.

We were planning on just visiting the newly restored Sphinxes Road.But the entrance ticket is the Luxor Temple ticket.Visiting in the evening is possibly the best time.Everything is illuminated and the temple looks its best.Such a beautiful site, well worth a visit.Due to its size it never seems too crowded.A memorable evening.A must when in Luxor.

Increíble mix of 4 different religions, amazing contrast of power and believe. This place has some magic! A must if you plan a trip to egypt. Make sure you walk the ancient path that connects Luxor temple with Karnak temple! Its been recently inaugurated and it just makes the whole experience more magical.

Luxor at night is the most magical and majestic way to see it. Came for a visit in October 2021. Our hotel was right down the road, close enough for us,and our guides to allow us to walk to enjoy the sunset and late afternoon air. Luxor is a bit cleaner than Cairo as far as pollution and garbage around the city.

Its simple yet beautiful, in heart of Luxor. Mix of all civilizations at one place... magnificent.

Dirty and horrible smell!I wanted to visit this temple because is famous and looks very good especially from far away.When you come closer the smell is disgusting because near the Temple are a lot of horse carriages and also bad is that is very dirty full of street garbage so I changed my mind.Too bad that is not properly taken care of!!

I got to experience this ethereal temple closing in on an evening, where the atmosphere was magnified even more than it is in the daylight hours. How can you explain being in the presense of an exquisite temple thousands of years old, in such amazing condition? Im sorry my friends- unless youre there its inexplicable. I couldnt have fathomed it myself until a few days ago. There were quite a lot of people but not so much that you couldnt move freely, and for a small Bagsheesh a local will set you up with the optimal spots for picture taking that others may not have considered. The best pics are on my husbands camera but Ill still upload a couple here.

This is a beautiful temple with many unique fixtures. Highly recommend you visit at night.

Great temple, cool to see the sphinx alley, as well as Christian and Islamic additions to the original temple.Id recommend avoiding the night when its lit up - crowds are insane and I think the sun illuminates the site better anyway

Maybe its first temple you ll see in luxor as its settled in the heart of the down town and so close to the train station.It was dedicated for worship Amon.Its very nice to visit at the time of sunset and also at the night.

Seeing it lit up at night is a great experience! It was too busy for my liking but seeing the details of the temple lit up with spot lights really accents their details.

It is so amazing that these ruins are here after so long. This is somewhere I have wanted to take my daughter for years and we finally got to do it in 2021. I am so glad we managed to do all the sights around Luxor. This really was a once in a lifetime trip. The temple itself is in good condition considering the age and we really enjoyed walking round the ruins learning about its history. Would definitely recommend this to anyone. Also hotels and trips in Luxor are really good value at the moment so its an ideal time to go.

Absolutely huge temple. Thousands and thousands carvings in the stones.With the nearly opened avenue of Spynxs ending / starting here it offers unparalleled views up the avenue.The temple site is an active archeological site as well. You can see dozens of people working throughout the temple and surrounding ground.

Great temple really and contains alot of ancient drawings and statues.You will feel that you want to visit alot of time to discover it all.It describes utterly how great was the ancient civilization.

Amazing place after renewal, you fell the history of ancient Egyptian!The temple is around 2400 years old and one of the biggest temples

Impressive, and the recently open Avenue of Sphinxes adds a lot of majesty to the place. Try going there in the evening as the light is so much better and everything looks more stunning. Make sure to note a mosque built on the top of the ancient temple, which was also used as a Christian church. The intertwining of religions is quite surprising in this region.

An amazing historical site! A must visit if coming to Egypt. Probably my favorite site in all of Egypt! The sheer size and age of the temple is hard to grasp and not fully appreciated if only looking at pictures or videos. You have to be there to get the full experience.

We visited while the construction was ongoing for the November 25th ceremony so the Ram Avenue was blocked off and the area was busy with construction staff.The temple was incredible nonetheless. The massive statues of kings are just brilliant!Although of all the templates I visited in Luxor this was my least favourite.

Its one of those places that makes you love Egypt and the culture all the more. I had the chance to go at night and the place was so magical. The entire structure is well lit showcasing all the different sections of the temples. And right across the entrance lies the famous 3 kilometres road of the sphinx.

Please be careful when viewing the photos.You may find it inappropriate for some of the relief photos. Im sorry if you feel uncomfortable.It is lit up at night and is very beautiful.I heard from the guideThere was a wonderfully valuable archaeological site under one of the colonnades, so I dug up the other colonnade, but nothing came out of it.

I took a flight from Cairo Egypt to luxor.to see the ruins. This is an awesome place with a lot to see. I went to the temples. It was great knowledge. It also was a lot to absorb. Great structures going back to 900 B.C.

This was my favorite visit of all in Egypt. It was incredible during the day but even more magical at night. I recommend going both ways. The peace one feels while meditating here is simply indescribable. An absolute must visit especially if you can avoid the crowds. Outstanding overall! A+
