If there were more establishments in the world like Lupes, the world would be a better place.(Im not kidding.)Why?5-star service5-star food5-star drinks5-star welcoming committee, including smiles and gratitude from every single employee, including Lupe, himself.My wife and son and I had heard about Lupes, and so we went this past Saturday night.Im not sure I can express the level of attention that was paid to us (and to other patrons near us). We were thanked for coming....and by people other than our server: the bartender, the chef, the bussers. We felt appreciated, and that is priceless these days. Smiles, gratitude, yes...but also knowledge of the menus, the food, the preparation, etc. Top to bottom, its Ritz Carlton-level service.Ok, but service aside, whats the food like?Well, in a word (or several- astounding, delicious, creative, impeccably-prepared, true to form. The menu is varied and creative, but not in a contrived way. They are not trying to be arty - they are serving authentic dishes that deliver flavor in a way that is accessible, not fake...and boy do they deliver.The food is so well-prepared - the ingredients are noticeably fresh to the palate and well-arranged. The flavors are considered both individually and collectively when a dish is being plated and conceived. Everything goes together and flows together, and is deliberate.Gosh, we simply cannot say enough good things about Lupes. We felt like we were a part of the family when we were there, and we left completely satisfied and with delicious flavors still ringing on our palates.Easily a top restaurant experience - when you feel comfortable in a restaurant setting, when you know all of the staff want to say YES to you, when you are thanked for your patronage, and when the food and drink arent missing a beat, and deliver a flavor explosion, what else is there to say besides "thank you?"And so, we say "thank you" to Lupe and the establishment he has built.Unbelievably well done.

I had Lupes special and it never fails to amaze me with the flavors. Margaritas are very good. Strawberry!

The food was overpriced for how much and the quality you get. The plantains were dry and the chicken was dry. 20 plus dollars for a couple of thin pork chops and not even half of a banana for plantains was definitely too much

I can’t speak to the quality of the food offered at Lupe’s, but the bar/night scene is absolutely atrocious. The regular bouncer (he typically wears a cabbie hatis a terrible person. He is short tempered and every time I’ve gone he has screamed at my friends and I as we were ordering to rush us, which is bizarre because they are usually never busy at night. My friends and I decided to never go back again when we saw him scream at his bartender because she wasn’t making a drink fast enough to the point where she cried and left. Terrible management and they should feel ashamed of themselves. If you wonder why Lupe’s always empty at night, now you know why.

Very warm service and delicious and unique food. Still working my way through the menu. Id like to try more of it

Went out on a unplanned date with my wife randomly choosing a place to go and ran into this place. Both owner and waiter did above and beyond considering it was almost closing time, great rural atmosphere, exquisite food and drinks plus friendly service. Too much good stuff to say.

Lupes is truly an incredible find! We wanted to check out some unique cuisine and we were not disappointed. The evening began with our waiter bringing a tasting, sliced bread and their signature creamy ixcatic salsa and everyone in our party knew after that bite the meal was going to be delicious. Our waiter was very kind and welcoming, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, feeling like everyone working at Lupes really enjoyed what they did. We ordered drinks (Mezcal Mule was greatand four different tapas for our table (all of them were delicious).We all ordered something different for our main (not by designand everyone was thrilled with the flavors. I ordered the Poc Chuc, tender, smoky, citrusy pork to fold a corn tortilla around, delicious. Black beans and rice were both very flavorful and unique in their own right. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the food was exciting and unique. I will definitely be going back, need to go during their Lunch menu and try out more of the delicious food.

This is the best restaurant in Corvallis and it is not even close.I lived in Austin, and other major cities for years, and this would be in my top 5 favorite restaurants in any place I’ve lived.

I tried the empadas here and it was good.The guacamole and chips were super awesome and fresh.They also have good collection of tequilas and would love to be back soon!

The food here is fantastic!! The margaritas are wonderful too! But the only downfall of the restaurant is its pretty expensive for what you pay for! But its a nice area of town! Server was very friendly!

Great food, service and ambiance!

3.5 with roundingI can tell this restaurant is actually pretty good but the thing is they don’t do alcohol drinks except the drink on drinks menu.Generally they are pretty slow, pretty nice service. Food taste are pretty okay, but it can be really salty (my friend said for Mexican food, you do expect they are salty).

This place was suggested by a colleague who comes here often and totally understands why. I loved the flavors, and the pollo poblano was yummy.The service was excellent, and the people who work are incredibly polite. But they offer too much water; they need to stop doing it when someone is having a conversation and all the glasses are full.

Really yummy food, and all of the servers were very polite and friendly! Food took a little bit to get out, about 40 minutes.

The Pollo Poblano is one of the best things I’ve ever had. I see this becoming a go to spot. It is delicious comfort food.

This is a cute little restaurant on Campus. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was pretty good. My chips unfortunately Werent the freshest and were pretty stale. I enjoyed the different sauces/salsas. The food was tasty and the rice and black beans were very flavorful. I will have to come back to find something Unique on the menu to be able to give it a accurate rating.The cook was very friendly and kind. This restaurant is a small restaurant with some outside seating. I look forward to coming back and giving it another try.

The chicken street tacos are seasoned (rare in Oregon as the locals seem to think pepper is spicyand they are BOMB!!! Also try the house made habanero sauce it’s so freaking good. Man I love this place! I forgot to snap a pic, mainly because I went to town on the food. Prices are fair, is say middle price range, but SO worth it. Give them a try!

Best Margaritas! If you love the fresh and spicy flavors of the Yucatan check this place out. Black beans were perfectly seasoned. Enchiladas and fried plantain ! Authentic.

The best house margaritas hands down. Today I took my sister and she got a top shelf mescaline margarita she said was perfect, and we got the best ever ceviche.

Everything Lupes does is amazing. My tastebuds do a happy dance with every dish I have ordered. Last night fare was the Gaucho Arrollado. The only thing I would change with the dish is a second serving of the stuffed zucchini. The starter was pineapple sprinkled with Tajin, so we ended up ordering the creamy ixcatic salsa with bread as well. The ixcatic salsa is out of this world. The wait staff were on point!

First and last time we will come. Table was wobbly and when brought to the attention of the server she replied “if I was a carpenter then maybe I would know how to fix it”. That young lady needs some education in appropriate responses. Not a fantastic start to our dining experience.The food in general was barely adequate. Small portions of rice and beans, but flavor was nice. Get the guacamole if you want half of a rough chopped avocado with an excessive amount of white onions placed on top. One dish, Polio Poblano, was straight cold with barely any chicken. Would have sent it back, but I hate eating alone when everyone else’s dishes were warm.Overall a very lackluster experience and overpriced for quantity.

I wish I took photos! The food was delicious and fresh. The pineapple served at the beginning was interesting. It was not bad by any means but I am indifferent on it. I ate 3 pieces and that was plenty. We had a few appetizers that were delicious! The guacamole was served chunky and it was perfect! We will be going back soon! Lupe was super nice and the staff were training but doing a great job. I will be recommending to everyone!

Used to come here with friends all the time pre-covid. It somehow has gotten even better! Theyre so accommodating of food allergies my friends and I have, the drinks are on point, the food is delicious, and the staff are always so sweet.

What a wonderful food experience! The food was fresh and flavorful. It was great to eat something different from what we have in our town. The portions are big so be ready to take home a second meal or share with someone. You leave full but without the heaviness other foods leave. Their margaritas are Amazing! Try the Lupes Margarita with Frida Khalo tequila; smooth, tasty and good looking too. Our server was friendly and answered all our questions. I cant wait to go back.

My husband and I had a night out together for the first time in a LONG time and we chose to stop by Lupes for dinner and all I can say is it did not disappoint. It was above and beyond our expectations. The service was great and the food was phenomenal. We will absolutely be back for more!

Love this place. My favorite in town. The enchiladas are flavorful and delicious. The owner is kind, generous, and welcoming. If you like hot sauce, it is a must try! Spicy. The food is fresh with quality ingredients, not oily and out of generic can. Beans, which I hold to a high standard in any Latin cuisine, are top-notch. Bravo!

Our waiter yelled at us after we had waited 10min and had a reservation, he was upset that we asked flavors for margaritas that he recommended. He told us “I have a lot of other people to help so are you going to tell me what you want or not.” We made a reservation and waited patiently as we knew there was a small rush.We never complained, we always said thank you, we were trying to celebrate our friend’s birthday and he could not have been less professional or more rude.The owners seemed to notice and took over and were extremely sweet. But there’s no excuse for treating people who are being kind and patient like the waiter did. We never got an apology, or a “hey I’m sorry for snapping it’s been really stressful”.Food was amazing, but I won’t be back if I see that the younger male waiter is there, and it won’t last on Monroe if they treat customers like that.

Lupes is amazing! Such a great spot. Our food was delicious and the service was personal and attentive. The owner is incredibly sweet. You can tell he has great pride in his restaurant. Corvallis has been missing something like this!!

My husband and I both loved our dinners our first time here. Today we popped in for lunch and both of us LOVED what we had. I got their healthier spin on Chile rellenos, and thought they’ll manage to make it taste great anyway, but they ended up being the best I’ve ever had. My husband was raving about his burrito too. So so good!

Comfortable, nice decor, friendly and funny owner and the hot sauce is fresh, spicy and delicious. Best new restaurant experience in Corvallis in a while.

Very friendly staff and great food! Small menu, but made with care and attention. If you have picky eaters or dietary restrictions, maybe look at the menu ahead of time. The food is great and wont leave you feeling like a grease bucket the way other Mexican restaurants in Corvallis do!

Food is AMAZING!!!! I feel like Im dining on a gourmet level, with each dish having amazing flavor. Ive been there twice, and the service hasnt been amazing. Last time we had an eager server, but he was quite forgetful. Also, while he wasnt particularly knowledgeable about my gluten-free needs, it was clear that the cooking staff WAS, and he was willing to double check, so I felt safe, knowing what I was eating.

Yum. So delicious. Seat yourself and order from the menu at the counter. You can watch the crew make your food while you wait. Very friendly and cheerful table service. Accommodating of our larger group. Mainly small group and bar seating. Took about 10-15 minutes to get our order at lunch time.

This is a descent taco joint, and the service was super friendly. Id give it more stars because the food was fresh and seemed like great ingredients. Problem was it was way too salty. The chips and salsa werent that edible due to how salty the chips were. The pre-Mayan tacos (lettuce shellswere good, but the cucumber and tomato salad also suffered from sodium overload. Price seemed a bit much for what it was.

I am truly impressed by Lupes Restaurant! Please, keep up your honestly great job!Finally a higher-class authentic place on Monroe, not another sandwich shop or an ordinary pub-bar. A perfect location to bring your partner on a fancy date, to bring your friends or family on a "real" dinner, or to bring your co-workers on a work-lunch.Extremely professional and friendly staff, great decoration and atmosphere, and even better delicious menu to select from. Yes, its a bit pricey compared to other places on Monroe, but definitely worth the experience and meals what you are getting! Lupe wont disappoint you!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Corvallis. The owner and staff make you feel very welcome and like they have known you for years. The food is amazing and so are the mixed drinks. I highly recommend the Frida or Lupes Especial. They have great nightly specials as well

I love this place! Just opened and already possibly my favorite in Corvallis. Food is delicious, healthy, authentic, not greasy or too salty. The owner is super friendly and nice. Prices are affordable, and the place is still nice (very non trashy).

My wife and I like this place a lot. We stopped by during happy hour and had pint of draft spanish beer just for 3$ and ipa pint for 2.5$ and to our surprise we were given free roasted peanuts as a snack. It has great variety of draft beers and cocktail drinks. I liked the idea of tequila flight that they have. We also like the interior design of the restaurant. It looks like very cozy warm sit-down dinner place. The menu has authentic Mayan food, so we are coming back next week for a dinner. Lupe the owner is Mayan himself and super friendly guy.

Food was unique and delicious! Lupe couldnt be more genuine. He came to our table, answered our questions and asked for feedback. Hunter at the bar makes a great margarita and was fun to talk with about the restaurant and menu. We will definitely be going back!

I asked for some spicy salsa and Lupe personally made me some from scratch! It was delicious and very spicy. The food was very authentic and we particularly enjoyed the pollo asado. They’re still working out some kinks service wise but we will definitely be back. Also, the prices on tequila are stellar! Highly recommended

So excited to see this restaurant finally open and flourishing! I know the owners had a hard time the first few weeks loosing their main cooks right off the bat. So dont let negative reviews on slow service deter you! They are working hard to get new people on board. This place has a great atmosphere. Strong drinks and good wholesome flavorful food. Love being able to support a locally owned business. This will be a regular spot for me and my friends!

A group of us decided to check things out...and met another group doing the same thing. Yes, lots of people all at once. The food was ok, had potential but half of my ingredients were missing or a lesser substitution made (iceberg lettuce instead of romaine). It wasnt any warmer than room temp, it was very slow and the dishes came one person at a time, no water was offered...same with salsa, the Mayan flavor is very mild and I truthfully missed the spicy. I wont return but I give them 3 stars because I really hope they become more comfortable with their business.

I really wanted to like this place and gave it two shots before forming an opinion. I went to a dinner on their third day and though the atmosphere was good it was quite slow service. The food came out luke warm and was not very spicy at all (preference). The second visit was for lunch and there was only the owner and only one gentleman working with quite a few customers looking to get food. We waited quite awhile for some tacos and nachos and they delivered about the same result. I hope they can make some changes and find success but I won’t be back for awhile.
