Barton Arcade, Deansgate, Manchester M3 2BB, Manchester
Upstairs sit-down restaurant & ground floor bar, deli, & patio focused on Catalan & Spanish cuisine.
Wow, an amazing gem, only been ounce but I am making my next reservation as I type. They have a very authentic tapas and drinka selectiob, the place is fabulous and the staff is really friendly & welcoming.
TUNA PIQUILLO PEPPER, VERY GOOD! TOO BAD THEY DO NOT CARRY NOT EVEN A PLLASTIC FORK! WHEN I REQUESTED ONE THE LADY JUST SAID SORRY. HENCE, I ATE WITH MY HANDS! 😅
Uptight middle age woman at the store side counter. I took a couple of pictures to post their products to friends on my social media but she looked at me as if I was a criminal. No time for this nonsense. I was going to purchase some " Jamon" but was so uncomfortable I didnt linger mucho!
Fantastic service and amazing food, thanks
Went as part of a large group where we had a set menu and everything we had was lovely. Looking forward to going back again.Staff were also very attentive
Lovely atmosphere, great service, great food albeit a little pricey but hey - you get what you pay for. If youre thinking about it, try it. We left happy.
Really authentic food with a massive menu choice. I always enjoy it when I go, even though it is a bit pricey. Definitely worth it though, very unique choices.
This place dropped down. The welcoming is still the same but the food has nothing to do with what it used to be. We didnt like the Catalan bread at all. The pedron peppers didnt have enough salt. The chicken was nothing special..Wish you get back to the same standards again
Always a nice friendly reception and really enjoyed our meal. They have a pretty decent beer selection too. We had the lamb with lentils and steak skewers as well as a sharing platter.Good service and good quality and it is not expensive so well worth a visit if youre in town.
I had some chicken and it was pretty good.I then had a chocolate fondant which was also pretty good. Went superbly well with the worlds best coffee, as backed up by the waitress. The wine was allright.Bit cramped though.Would return.
Excellent if almost overwhelming choice on the menu, everything was great! Tried the fried goats cheese by recommendation and I was not disappointed! (Caution if youre not a strong cheese lover🧀🐁
Great menu, good for vegatarians and extensive fish menu. Gamba Pil Pil has a suace to die for. Service was very attentive and helpful. We will be back!
Food was really good, staff were helpful and pleasant, the restaurant was colourful ,would definitely go again
I went here due to the reviews on Google, I have had better Paella else where in Manchester. The Paella was quite bland and had no taste to it, once our order was taken no one came to the table again to see how things were going.
One of my favourite places to go in Manchester. Lovely wine, food and staff and the food is reasonably priced. You can pick up dome great ingredients in the deli downstairs as well!
Table of 5. Took over 15 mins to be seated (wasn’t busy& 45mins to receive our 1st drinks order. Random dishes were delivered to the table very slowly & spanning over an hour. Lots of confusion over what was left of our order. Waiter was lifeless & unhelpful. Dishes are smaller & more expensive than most tapas. You defiantly need 4 to 5 dishes per person, average dish price was about £7.50
Great spot for some tapas, lovely upstairs in the Barton arcade. Great deal on 6 lots of tapas, good service and very accommodating as we have a 4 month old baby boy with us. Loved the desserts as well!!
Ordered a barbecue platter, only half of is was edible. Chick thigh was tasteless and some meat tasted like Dettol, it was impossible to finish the dish. Told the waiters but got nothing but apologies. Didn’t even offer me a discount.I had high expectations for this one, dont know if I should give them another shot. Probably is my fault cause I ordered a platter in a tapas restaurant.
A great non-mega chain of tapas bar. Service warm and pleasant although there is a bit of a wait for delivery of order. I put it down to freshly prepared tapas although it might not suit less patient diners. Great food and wines.
Excellent food. Not normally a desert person but the white chocolate cheesecake blew me away. Service was not as attentive as it could be, we struggled to ask for the bill, but perhaps this is because there was only a single waiter serving many tables
Relaxed and informal, needs a few more staff but drinks reasonable and deli great too.
I wanted to give 3.5 but as we know their isn’t an option. The food was good if slightly greasy the service was a let down. Tapas arrives when it’s ready but we waited 40 mins to receive the final dish. To be clear 5 dishes arrived followed by the last one 40 mins later. They gave us free coffee and the waiter was very nice about it but for the price I’d expected better service.
The food was good and initially the service was prompt and friendly. Then it went downhill. We waited for 30 mins for the table to be cleared and for someone to take dessert and drink orders. Everything seemed to slow down and staff were thin on the ground. Id probably avoid this place in future.
Ordered a meat dish as a veggie option. Received the dish with meat inside. The staff was immediately very accommodating and offered to get it redone without meat. We also enjoyed complimentary drinks - great customer service!
A little piece of classic Spain in the middle of Manchester. Serving traditional Spanish food and great wine and beer. I love the roll top bar for snacks and drinks.
Decent place, with reasonable priced tapas and a good selection of wine. Went with my girlfriend quite early and it was already relatively busy so I would reccomend booking if possible. Most of the staff were polite however I can see that one of them required a bit more training. I could tell as he was one of the first people I met when waiting to be seated and was greet with an unwelcoming presence. That being said, the staff who served my table were friendly. Would reccomend around 5-6 tapas for 2 people. Would have been 5 star
Very poor meal. Waited over an hour for tapas starters! Meatballs then arrived as if they had been microwaved in ketchup, really poor quality and disappointing meal. Paella was inedible and arrived 1.5 hours after ordering. This may have been a one off bad night at Lunya, however, I would never eat there again.
Very dissappointed!. I was given a voucher from one of my student (i am spanish teacher), I was there on Friday the 10th. I order two tapas and PARRILLADA...it was served on a cold plate, nothing like a proper parrillada, the all meat was cold,... horrible!, over price! Never come back again! .
You need to visit this place. Downstairs there is a gorgeous bar and deli. While upstairs is the restaurant. We sat downstairs and had tapas. The food was incredible and the service superb. The veggie and vegan options are brilliant. Will definitely be returning
Great authentic Tapas in Manchester’s Historic Barton Arcade. Great Spanish service and friendly staff. Also a good place for vegans and veggies. I have been several times and I have not been disappointed.
My wife and I stopped in here for lunch on spec without having come across it before. We opted for a mixed deli platter and a side of sourdough bread and found it to be more than enough for two people. Accompanied by a glass of sangria each it was a perfect lunch. Staff were prompt and friendly and the food was delicious and well presented. The shop downstairs is fantastic too. I dont know many places offering this sort of cuisine, so its a good addition to Manchester.
Very good food and service. Though they did conveniently forget that wed ordered off the Lunch Menu and charged us full price. Unfortunately we didnt notice until wed left.
Fantastic food and service! With in-store deli. Got the £25 menu, got wave after wave of tapas. Had to ask how many more were coming as we were getting full. Great value.
Excellent service. We had the tortilla, Moroccan chicken, sea bass, meat platter and a bottle of Rioja - each dish was authentic and served when ready. Thanks for a very enjoyable supper.
Visited as a single on a Sunday at 2PM, had to wait for several minutes before being told to go downstaris and sit at the bar (the dining room was absolutely empty and even when I left there were less than 1/3 of the tables taken). After some time I was offered a table nonetheless, but as I found out afterwards, I was not provided with the discount lunch menu (12PM til 6PM), but only the expensive standard main menu. Food was ok, but as a single customer I felt not being welcome and ripped off. Will not visit again.
Started well with a wide range of gin and vermouth. The food was disappointing and the tortilla was almost inedible. I didnt think the food was very Spanish . There were a few nice dishes but the sauces were very similar. However the 2 friends I went with loved it and I thought the deli next door looked worth a visit.
Excellent service and a great atmosphere. Great selection of beers and gins with a fabulous shop and deli for takeaway food and wine.
Friendly informative staff even on a very busy Saturday. Im very happy that they had a separate vegan-friendly menu! I only wish they did a few more set tapas combos, as it took my family forever to decide :P
Delicious food and quick service. Lovely staff. The desserts platter is perfect for 3. Nice atmosphere and decorations.
A beautiful taste of Spain in the middle of Manchester, within the beautiful Barton Arcade. Very friendly and helpful staff!
Nice tapas bar with tasty dishes . I had th baby octopus and all the black pudding which were very nice, although for one person i would have been better off with smaller dishes. This work be great with a group of friends
Everything I want from a restaurant- great bar with staff that want you to enjoy what youre drinking, good wine list, delicious food, friendly service, menu big enough to keep you coming back but not unfocussed. Will definitely, definitely be back.
Very tasty food and good service. A normal person will spend about 20 quid just on food which I think is worth it. Between 8 of us we got 2 plates of tapas each and a large paella for 3 people. That was waaaaay more than enough. Its filling and tasty! Nice place for a drink downstairs too
Great deli good choice little pricey but u get what you pay for got some meat and cheese and they were tasty some different cheeses here but worth the risk. Cocktails and olives also sooo good
Some fantastic tapas, some more average. The aioli bread was beautiful, the tortilla was as tortilla should be. The hummus pies were nice but tiny for the price. The other dishes were a little meh. Id really recommend the white wine sangria. That was delicious. As others have said its overpriced. £60 for two is steep for the amount we ate.
Review 1: Lovely tasty Tapas, but the cost for each one was too much for the 2 of us. Youre paying between £6-8 for small plates of food, which adds up. They recommend 3 Tapas per person which will be about £21. So in a normal restaurant that would equate to a £6 starter and a £15 main, which would provide a more substantive meal.Review 2: Went back with a party of 10 for my birthday. They hosted perfectly and gave me a free glass of bubbly. Tapas this time seemed more reasonable and were still very tasty. For a large group we had Sangria and lots of tapas, including sharing plates. Satisfied.
Decided to give this place a go after being enticed by the excellent deli on the ground floor. Theres a choice to seat at the bar or head upstairs for a table dining experience. Absolutely surprised by how big the dining area is upstairs! Staff are friendly and helpful. Selection in the menu is great. And the food, just amazing! Beautifully presented, tastes really good and portions are decent. Slight criticism is that it can be a tad too salty. Other than that, I would class this in my top 2 tapas restaurant!
Food is great but as other have mentioned it is expensive. On average you will pay around £6 to £7 for one small plate of tapas which will bring the bill to around £21 for three plates. Add to that a few drinks and as you can see it adds up quickly. On the whole though it is an enjoyable place to eat with good atmosphere and quick service.
This place is excellent. They have a separate vegan menu that has lots of options, Ive already been back 3 times. The paella is lush, the olives are to die for and Ive still not tried everything. Took lots of friends for my birthday and they all enjoyed it.
My first experience here in Lunya Tapas Bar today was ok and too expensive. The wine tasted glorious, but was extremely expensive, at almost £10 per glass. The tapas was also costly, at almost £8.00 for four thin slices of Manchego cheese. The waitress service was ok, but she let herself down at the very end by falsely coughing as I paid the bill.I am still being stalked and the staff need to let the Police know about anything suspicious please.
