Easygoing counter-serve eatery with a menu of varied vegan eats, a patio & rustic-chic decor.
My first time eating LuLus was on Fathers Day, and it was worth it. Because of them i love there jackfruit crunch wrap and there nacho tots I recommend the large. Since then ive ate there 2 other times. However ive been trying to order since then, however i just saw as of yesterday that they are temporarily closed. I wish the owner and the staff nothing but the best and i love for them to reopen as soon as possible.
We hot catering from here for an event, the food was delicious!!! The service was good, I am happy to have this alt vegetarian here on S. Grand!
I just moved back to St. Louis and was really excited to come back to lulus for the amazing crunch wrap but was sadly disappointed. My crunch wrap was super soggy, no cheese and the jackfruit just wasn’t cooked like it should be. This sandwich just completely fell apart. I’m so sad because I got this for dinner and can’t eat it.
The food here was amazing and the people were friendly! And great to see a restaurant actually taking covid seriously. If only I actually lived in st.Louis then I would come back all the time!
Wonderful vegan options. As of May 29th they were only doing carry out orders. Reasonable wait time for an appetizer and entree. The young lady taking our order was friendly, we only had that one moment of interaction with her.We got the nacho tater tots, great flavors, crisp potatoes, highly recommend!Accidentally ordered the Korean Fried Cauliwrap instead of the Korean Street Tacos. Monster portions, wasn’t a big fan of the flavor & texture combo, husband liked it and said it was pretty good.
The website said they took online orders Tuesday-Sunday… so I thought I could place an online order for Tuesday evening. Turns out they are closed and didn’t open until Thursday. I called as soon as they opened to cancel my order, but the only phone number available goes straight to a voicemail box that’s not set up.
Not want I was expecting at all! And this was my first time eating there I got two cheese steak sandwiches and the peppers and onions were huge like its a choking hazard. It just wasnt good at all and Im extremely disappointed ☹️ Spent $40 just to be wasted
The food is Goodenough. However, the inconvenience of only online orders and no more restaurants settings is a turn off. I know many capitalized on doing things differently due to Covid-19, but this is too long and too far. I’m over it. Last time I’ll order until things are normal again.
Always a great treat to come here. Sat outside and got drinks from the gas station across the street. Not sure when the inside will open again - but that was not a big deal to us. Great food. Best vegan options in STL
This is the best vegan joint in STL! Big portions and incredibly flavorful. The desserts are delicious as well! Also, I am usually not a fan of tater tots but there is something about Lulu’s tater tots that calls my name daily. Soo crunchy and juicy - they are a must-try!!
i LOVE this place. im amazed at how lulus manages to combine delicious eats, fast and friendly service, a clean and cozy ambiance, AND such incredible sustainability practices so successfully. ive frequented this place a bit in the past year or two and its always been an excellent experience--i cant recommend lulus enough to vegans and omnivores alike.
For lunch today I had the Sweet Potato Black Bean Burger with Tater Tots at LuLus Local Eatery! Im not vegan myself, but there are many fantastic vegan options in the city, & LuLus is now one of them for me. The burger was delicious – & that pretzel bun? Hard to beat! That chipotle dipping sauce is so good, but I just couldn’t put my finger on the special flavor in it!LuLu’s is also Green Dining Alliance certified, so that’s an extra plus! 🌱
This place is always crowded, while still having a unique vibe to it and interesting art work. To order, its a walk up counter. Everything on the menu looked delicious, it was reasonably priced for the giant portions. I brought meat eaters with me and they were pleasantly surprised with the food. I tried the buffalo cauliflower bites, they were crispy, plenty of flavor, had some kick to them. For my main meal I got the loaded nacho crunch wrap with a side of tater tots. This meal spoke comfort to me! It was so delicious, full of flavor. I also tried some of the butternut squash enchiladas and WOW those were just as good! Oh and everything came with sauces which I appreciate.
Some of the tastiest foods you’ll have in your belly - and they are all plant based! It’s a smaller place so not an ideal spot for large groups during the lunch or dinner rush. There are several local beers along with a cider on tap to accompany your food. Their bean burgers are so delicious - but you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Enjoy!
Never thought Id be that person that just has to go back to a vegetarian place, but....omg. Im so full, and it was all so good! Im doing the jackfruit crunchwrap next time...or maybe the black bean sweet potato burger! So many choices
Great, tasty vegan food with super friendly staff! While it is vegan, some of it happens to be deep fried and tasty! Check it out and keep an open mind! Yum!
Lulus is one of the reasons I converted to eating a vegetarian diet! The expansive menu utilizes a wide range of vegetarian, vegan, and nut free options! Lulus menu has a creative way of using vegetables to replace “meat” items in meals. It had made the transition into eating vegetarian much more accessible and more delicious than I could have ever imagined. Everything is great on the menu, but if you are wondering what you should try, just ask the friendly staff!
The food was amazing. I took forever to decide on what to get because it all sounded great.
Very good vegan food at this unassuming cafe. The selection is broad with appetizers, sandwiches/wraps, entree bowls, and tacos. They also have a variety of beverages such as beer, sparkling water, kombucha, etc. The food was terrific with great flavor and fresh vegetables in our Lulus tacos and the Banh Mi bowl. We also had the white bean hummus which was also good. Some cool art by a local artist was cool. Parking is on street.
Place is very fun and has local art that really liven the nice decor definatly not your cookie cutter place. If ypur around and hungry do yourself a favor eat here!
First time eating here. Asked the guy at the register what should I order. Trusted his expert opinion. Im impressed. Will be coming back for more!
I am so excited to have found this place! The food is absolutely delicious. They do creative and amazing things with their ingredients (such as the watermelon in the poke lettuce wraps). The prices are competitive. The atmosphere is clean and fun. There are even ping pong tables upstairs! Even during a busy lunch they seem to get the food out pretty quickly. I love all of their sustainability efforts too. If youre a vegan, this place will be heaven. However, Ill note that the people who convinced me to give it a try are actually big meat eaters but still like to frequent Lulus. Go eat there!
Tasty vegan food, funky atmosphere, friendly staff... whats not to love?!!! So happy we stopped here while traveling through St. Louis!! We shared Buffalo Cauliflower Wings and the Spring Roll Bowl. Not pictured is the brownie. Very filling!!
Delicious food and a great atmosphere. We recently stopped in to check this place out while we were in town and were so happy we did. Being vegan usually means limited choices, thats why places like this are so amazing. Huge menu with all kinds of goodness. I had the banh mi tacos, and got the mini burger with a side of tots for my 3 year old, and my gf had the thai crunch wrap. We all just ended up sharing everything because every bit of it was delicious. Friendly staff and super hospitable. Lulus will definitely stay on our "go to" list for any time we are in St. Louis
We came on a Friday evening and it was packed! I got the Thai wrap which wasnt very good, not very flavorful. My boyfriend got the sushi bowl, which he enjoyed a lot. We got a brownie and a cookie and both were awesome. I would try again here with another menu item.
The food is good. I visited for the first time recently and returned with the whole family a day later. Definitely worth the try if youre vegan or not. Be warned that it gets pretty crowded inside but the outdoor seating is perfect for summer time. My 4 year old said his mini burger was delicious!
The food was pretty good but there was a problem with my order. Instead of fixing it, the cashier proceeded to explain why it was my fault. The food would be worth the recommendation but the service killed it for me.
Beautiful interior decor, hip vibe, and tasty Vegan food. We ordered the buffalo blue burger and robo special wrap. We loved the crispy texture of the sweet potato black bean burger and both entrees were great, although the burger won in tastiness. Although likely user error, giving 4 stars because I burnt all my tastebuds off due to the excessive temperature of the burger toppings.
First of all Amazing!!!! The buffalo cauliflower "wings" are phenomenal and amazing, even a non vegan would love them. The texture was perfect, not mushy the house made sauce was perfectly prepared not too spicy but perfect flavor. The sweet potato falafel is a must try, unique and delicious, perfectly prepared not dry or crumbly, not mushy just perfectly done and tasty. Highly recommend. The staff is bright, warm and friendly , the environment is bright, and cheery. Wonderful place and the rotating menu of seasonal goodness is impressive. A definite must try.
There were 6 vegan spots closer to me than this place. I picked the right one baby(Ray Charles voice)! The Loaded Tot Nacho thing was amazeballs and the Butternut squash enchiladas were so on point! So much food i had to take some home! Very reasonably priced for top shelf ingredients. Im coming back every time Im STL!
I guess I had such high expectations for this place after friends told me it was better than Treehouse. It is if youre looking for a really fresh vegetarian/vegan taste. My enchiladas were stuffed with what seemed like mostly kale. The other flavors shone through but sometimes, since Im not a vegetarian, when Im eating vegetarian dishes I dont want the fact that its vegetarian to be so obvious. I like my vegetarian/vegan foods to be more comparable to non vegetarian foods.Side note: You can tell this is a place that has a lot of regulars. It looked like a lot of them had chosen bowls! So maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.. Id like to ask them whats good here that keeps them coming back.
Lulus is St. Louiss vegan "go-to". Order at the counter and the food is served to you. Lulus offers a simple but delectable menu. The Bahn Mi Bowl and Buddha Bowl are supurb. Additionally, The sweet potato falafel offer a pleasant change-up from the mundane chickpea. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes --you will be busting at the seams walking out of there!
Worth checking out for vegan food. I found the food a little mushy. The staff were great and they have nice place to eat outside.
Don’t eat a lot of vegetarian food my daughter took me here but enjoyed the food here. Large potions very filling ( honestly I felt I would leave a vegetarian restaurant starvingService was fast. Order at the cashier and they bring it to your table. Seems like a place for the younger group, very casual.
This place is nice and laid back. Indoor and outdoor seating. Decent service. Have been hearing a lot about the bbq jackfruit sandwhich so I had to try it. It left a bit to be desired, I guess my hopes were set too high. BBQ sauce should be either, sweet, spicy, or tangy at least... It tasted very bland along with the coleslaw they put on it. The texture of the jackfruit was delightful, the bun it was on was delicious, and the billy goat chips were very tasty with great seasoning. Their fridge was broken at the time I went but they still had some cold drinks. I got an Izze Pop peach flavor it was very nice. Only left a bit disappointed with the blandness of the bbq, otherwise I enjoyed my trip.
This is a really great spot! Chill friendly vibe. The kind where they let you do you. ..but its not the kind where theyre being negligible and rude. The atmo. The deco. ☆5 stars☆. They even got a ping pong bar hidden away in the back upstairs ,... or in the front- depending how you wanna see it.Yes, a place where you can go grab a beer/cocktail and play some ping-pong! When I saw it, it seemed very intimate. Maybe it was due to the limited amount of space... who knows. Over all, simple, stylish and a real neat idea. A place where you can grab a healthy, sustainable, conscious bite; hang back and have some fun and pass the time with friends. Now,.... THE FOOD was a 4ish in my opinion. Well, I had a sweet potato black bean Chipotle burger while my boyfriend had a spring roll burrito... I liked his better. But dont get me wrong, both were great. I think there was just a certain spice within the burger, (maybe cumin), that was just off putting to me. But the spring roll burrito...👌👌 go for it. Id also suggest the cauliflower bites! My favorite part was how eco friendly they were on top of their food choices. Composting and recycling! And doing it in style! Nice little corner gem spot!....oh yeah!😀 [THEY GROW AND USE THEIR OWN HERBS GROWN RIGHT ON THEIR OUTSIDE PATIO AS WELL! !] 😀AS FRESH AS IT GETS LADIES AND GENTS! 😋🍃✌Hope yall found this helpful.🙏
Perfect place to try a great vegan/vegetarian bite to eat! I love the atmosphere of this place. Friendly staff with great food! :D My go-to when Im at S. Grand! Those nachos are to die for~ :)
All vegan, very fresh and delicious! I love their seasonal menus, and I love supporting a small, local business. Love their food truck too!!
Ive Been looking to try a few Vegan dishes with frds and Lulus was the perfect Spot! The quality and taste of the food was Amazing, esp their Buffalo Cauliflower bites.. Well Definitely be returning 😊
I love eating here! The food is delicious! I usually am hungry an hour after eating a vegan meal, but not when I eat here! I love their burger but today I tried the Portobello gyro. Their special made sauces are fantastic!
Love it. Great tasting food. Service is extremely quick. Had the buffalo burger, tasted amazing. Also order the enchiladas, tastes amazing. Great portions for the price. Highly recommend it.
I love LuLus! Vegan food that is so good family members who are not vegan love it too. Often have cravings for the mushroom stroganoff, so delicious. You have to start with tots! Pics are the roasted veggie and quinoa wrap without the wrap and the mushroom stroganoff which I got to go to have for dinner tonight.
Understated, but elegant. Tasty, hearty, vegan meals. I had the Black bean & Sweet potato sliders... Excellent!
Good food. Food took a while and didn’t come out together. Also we had to go get our own napkins and silverware. I had the bbq jackfruit on pretzel bread and it was delicious!
This is the first place where Ive felt like I could eat vegan and still splurge. Their menu has some innovative and creative options. They utilize spices very well, making simple things taste quite unique. I also love how they are associated with a local vegan bakery so you can grab a treat with your meal while there. I cant say that Im blown away by the food, but it is quite delicious.
I had the Buffalo Cauliflower bites & the sweet potato black bean burger. There was a lot of sauce on both. I wish I had asked for it on the side. I wasnt crazy about the ranch dipping sauce for the cauliflower either. There was some kind of spices in the burger also. I was really just wanting the flavor of the beans & potatoes. The pretzel was bun was true to its name. Ive had some "pretzel buns" that simply resembled the look of a pretzel but had no similarities in taste. There are picnic tables available outside. Im not sure if they have ice but I ordered water and was directed to a faucet area where the cups & utensils were.
The Black Bean Burrito with Tots was amazing. We also had the Buffalo Cauliflower as an appetizer. And to wash it down they had one of my favorite ciders on tap Urban Chestnut Bushelhead. The service was great and the food came out pretty fast. We got there at around 8:30 pm and they close at 9. It was no rushing from the staff and the music they were playing was good. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Vegan or not, you will love this food. Its completely delicious! I would recommend the buffalo cauliflower bites to anyone, including your mom.
Fresh! Local! Vegan! Wonderful foods that are very filling nd delicious. The cauliflower wings were great and a good option for the table or as an entree itself. We had the gyro and Chipotle bowl which where both great options. The bowl had sweet potato which I am not a fan of but had such a great taste in the meal I would order it again without any modifications. They also offer some beer and wine choices but we did not take advantage of that. Worth a stop! Happy eating!
Great variety of veggie based options. The buffalo cauliflower will satisfy your wont l chicken wing craving.
