Lullymore East, Lullymore, Co. Kildare, Ireland, Leixlip
Family attraction with peat bog heritage displays, a train ride & many indoor & outdoor play areas.
An absolutely fantastic family day out. Totally briliiant. Loved it. Well done
We loved the Halloween experience. It was really well done, a great day out.
This was our 3rd or 4th Halloween Happenings event to attend and it was so much fun yesterday (29-10-22). We were lucky enough to have Lydia the witch with us in our carriage..her cackling laugh throughout the train trip was great 😊So glad its back after been postponed because of covid..Hoping Christmas at Lullymore returns soon as they have the best Santas 🎅
Experience for children is brilliant. Food options could improve and staff in kitchen could be flexible where delays are caused from queues. A lot of disappointed customers who were waiting in for a long time, only to be disappointed through no fault of their own as they joined queues well in advance of closing times.
Fabulous place to discover especially for children they have a pet Zoo and ita very educational too on the history of the area. History of Ireland is well documented by interactive experience hologram of an iron age man in his dwelling. Excellent.
Tucked away so that Its easy to miss but really good for a family day out. 10€ per adult includes the minigolf game with 19 holes with one on top of a cute keep. Outdoor playground and a free train ride every hour. Nice and educational trek through the bog and forest. Internal playground with nice slides for kids. A small picnic area with ice-cream and food. Liked it a lot.
Good fun and my son loved it.
So much fun! Very exciting place. Interactive. Beautiful bog of Allen! Great for kids. We went recently and were the only people in the park. Awesome experience. Fairy trail is enchanting.
Very nice place for walk and explore history and relax.pl Polite staff.
Really fantastic place to while away a few hours with kids. Not just a fantastic outdoor and indoor play area and small petting farm but also some pretty excellent heritage areas giving broad strokes looks at the areas ties to the early Christian period, the 1798 rebellion, famine times and the consignment of the Irish to Australia and finally the bog itself and what it meant to Lullymore and greater Ireland. Well worth the admission price.
Great place for kids, you could spend a good afternoon here. Plenty to see and do. Loved the bog area and walk.
Absolutely fantastic set up and so much to do .the staff are Brill, the train is great for the kids along with the interactive sets and displays ....brilliant .dont give it a second thought ,get down there for the day .
I has my sons 4th birthday party in Lullymore on Friday for the second year running and I couldnt recommend this place more. It is spotlessly clean and there are so many things to do, no matter the weather. The staff were all lovely and all the different areas were really well staffed. Its a beautiful location, tucked away in the boglands. We had a lovely day out, thank you so much for a wonderful experience 😊
Absolutely brilliant morning spent in Lullymore Heritage & Discovery Park! We would have easily paid double the entry fee, great value for money. The staff were super approachable and helpful. The Purple Heather café was gorgeous and again, such great value. The option of indoor and outdoor dining was great too as we had our dog on a lead with us. All the facilities were clean and accessible. We can’t wait to go back again ASAP! A great spot for all ages, abilities and a definite must visit place.
A good day out for a 6 year old especially if it doesn’t rain. Train ride is about 4 minutes long, so not a lot to that. Was expecting a longer more interesting train ride. Indoor play area saves the day if it rains. Outdoor play area good. Cafe food brutally bad, and I’ve been there several times. Really could do with raising the standard of food offered. I’ve started buying a tea and sneaking in my own sandwich, as the food there is simply awful. Pity. It’s meant to be a day out, people choose to go there or not, so the food needs to be better or people will leave reviews like this. 🙁
Highly recommended great day out for kids, good value as well.
We were staying in the area and seen advertised at the hotel, have to say my two absolutely loved it and wish it was closer to home. We arrived early to our time slot but were told that was fine so very accommodating. They have an amazing indoor and outdoor playground, free train rides, and a stunning walk over the bogs and great old Irish history.. with plenty of wildlife my two helped themselves to blackberries on their trails 🤣🙈 we will definitely make the journey again just to visit.
Brilliant place for the kids. Great play area outside. Food was terrible which is a shame. Kids menu is so unhealthy like most places in Ireland and the bread for a sandwich was stale. Everything else was grand and handy just I would recommend to bring your own food. I hope the next time we visit the restaurant will be more up to standards.
Great place, great value! Where would you have both- almost everything a child wants on a weekend (playground, mini golf, mini train, petting farm, indoor activity centre with ballpit, foosball and air hockey, cafe with sandwiches and ice cream)- beautiful nature: both a very cute garden, and a fascinating re-wilded bog nature reserve (look at the photos - we even found sundews!)
A nice day out with younger kids. Would have liked a slightly better offer in the cafe and some of the attractions felt like they needed a bit of investment but otherwise a good place to spend a few hours.
Such a lovely place! We spent only 2 hours there but wasnt enough! We have to go back!!!
Friendly, excellent with kids, not too crowded on a rainy saturday in June. Great value for money and educational.
A fantastic day out with the kids. It is impressive to understand the links between the area and the core elements of Irelands history. The educational part is conveyed in a very personal, tangible and entertaining manner. The staff is extremely helpful, and there is such a variety of things to do for everybody to have a great day.
Absolutely worthy of a visit. Value for money is an understatement. 2 adults and 2 kids we paid 33euro, and got a train ride, a treasure hunt, crazy golf, outdoor park, inside play area, farm area with some animals to look at, and the most beautiful forest walk (suitable for buggies alsoalong some of the most amazing views and scenery. On any dry day in ireland this is definitely worth a visit. There was so much to see and do, we spent 4 hours here. Theres a coffee shop inside with a great menu choice. Plenty of seating and plenty of space. Plenty of car parking spaces also.
Enjoyable day out, especially for the kids. Only downfall was the "large" ice cream. Just as well I didnt get the small size, the cone might have been empty! Large is supposed to mean large! Not small to average for over €2.50!
Absolutely fantastic we went with senior infants school tour, so well organised and safe. Children had a fabulous time. Also scones were delicious 😜
Went to Lullymore today, great day had by all. Fantastic facilities, family really enjoyed it, cafe offers some hot food, sandwiches, tea, lovely coffees, ice creams and sweets and treats. Mini golf was great fun, little boy loved the treasure hunt. Would definitely recommend.
A great place for adults and kids, some old heritage facts and displays. The cafe is nice too. Its a fairly big area, which includes a train ride around the grounds. It could be a bit cooler because its wide open on a bog.
Such a wonderful place, staff so welcoming. So much to see and do, the train ride is lovely, beautiful views on the walks, playground, animals and indoor play area is brilliant! will definitely be back soon
Great day out with the kids. Lots to explore and plenty of places to play, enjoy a picnic or just relax. Mini farm and crazy golf and even a train ride. We done the Easter trail too which the kids really enjoyed and kept them occupied the whole way round. Staff were very friendly with some well known characters popping round to say hello. The indoor play area was a huge hit and the coffee shop was reasonably priced, although we didnt eat there, we did have ice cream which was lovely. Highly recommend lullymore for a fun packed family day out.
Would like to come again, that is for sure!It is a very good place to spend a few hours on the steps of St. Patrick and see how people lived many years ago.Cafeteria is ok to grab a bite, childrens playground is nice too.The walk in the forest is the best though, although quite short.
Lovely walks and loved the train ride. But I dont think my child enjoyed it that much. Its more of an adults place to enjoy!! There is a play ground and few animals, but dont think its worth the money payed for the ticket.
A great day out for everyone. From the moment of arrival the young man on the front gate explained everything we could do. He was very welcoming and professional. Lots to see and do a step back in time was very well laid out and informative. Free train rides and crazy golf included in the entry price. The indoor play area is really big the kids loved it. Well worth the vist, we will be back In the summer.
Wonderful visit. Interesting walking routes, plenty of attractions, and a tasty lunch with a cup of coffee. Well worth a visit.
Great family day out. Went on the Halloween spooky train. Extremely well put together. Was quite scary, bit too scary for young children but definitely worth it.
Great family Day out... well worth a visit.. plenty to do and great entertainment for the kids.. family friendly throughout
Crazy golf was very good. Train ride fun for the smaller kids. Petting zoo very disappointing, only a few animals. A bit overpriced for activities available.
Lovely place to go with kids and lots of fun things to do. Staff all nice and friendly! Looking forward to go there again.
Fantastic. Plenty to see and do for young and not so young. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Well worth the trip
Amazing place for kids. The cutest map to follow to help the fairies. Lovely petting animals. Lovely playground. The cutest putt putt course. Awesome train ride around. Shop that sells hot food and drinks, snacks and juices. Lovely trails with loads to discover on the way. Lots of history and audio tours to listen to on your route around. Highly recommended! Great day out!
This is a great place to go for a day out with the family. Excellent Covid precautions throughout. The fairy village is worth the price of admission alone but you also get themed gardens, bog board walk, train ride, mini farm, forest trail, outdoor playground, historical houses and crazy golf all included.Outdoor picnic areas both covered and uncovered and a cafe.Great place, please visit and support these guys.
This is a very nice place to go to learn the history of the area. Children will have a great time at the petting zoo, miniature golf, site seeing train, and indoor activities. This is a great place to bring a lunch and relax. Price was very reasonable.
What a fantastic day out for the whole family it was! Two adults and 4yrs old boy that was going nuts in there. Truly and really amazing experience! It cost us only €24. There is a place to walk, to play and when you are tired, to sit and chill out a bit. Restaurant /canteen could use some improvement in terms of crowd control (qs were getting mixed up cus people were a bit confused where to order and where to payas well as menu offered. There is indoor play area, picnic area, outside playground for older kids, some animals, choo choo train 😉 and lets not forget about fairys kingdom.I can only recommend this place for a family day out.
great day out, staff were very accommodating, the centre was clean & very child/buggy friendly. food was very reasonable and fresh. lots to do indoor or outdoor. definitely worth a visit.
Great place. Nice playground train ride farm and trails aswell as cafe and indoor play centre. Been here alot and will continue to come back. Friendly staff and kept in great condition.
Great place to spend half a day with the kids. We went during the Halloween holiday and the place was amazing!!! There were actress and it made our visit even more interesting. The place itself is very nice and has many activities for the kids as well as nice hikes.
Lovely family day out with a train ride around the bog area, fairy village, woodland walks and a boardwalk through the bog area. There is a big cafe which is not too expensive, a great indoor play area, pitch and putt golf, farm animals and plenty of local history cottages for the history buffs. Well worth a visit.
Lovely day out for the family and lots to do regardless of the weather. Cafe food was nice and located just off the great indoor play area. If the fantastic historical sets arent your thing, the outside play area, crazy golf, pet farm, forest walk and train ride will keep everyone happy. Something for everyone here.
A fantastic place to bring the children (and the adults who act like them). Every year brings something newly built, so the place is ever changing. The Train. Everybody loves the train. It goes on the path through the woods and round the bog, taking all the sights. In peak season you get one ticket, one go. Off peak no-one seems to mind you having a few trips.Im adding some photos of the craftsmanship and heritage that makes this place special. It can be seen in every part of Lullymore and is what makes it magical for kids. The TrainThe Petting FarmCrazy GolfThe Fairy FortThe Outdoor PlaygroundThe Boardwalks Through The BogThe Various Cottages/Ancient DwellingsComing:New Train On Tracks Through Bog(Looks like it will cost extra to go on this one though)Bad points:The indoor play area is lethal. Ive never seen a place as badly supervised with so many little loons running round. Beware this one if the kids are v small.Crowds are getting bigger in Peak Season and even though Lullymore is a huge place, it needs to expand a lot more to accommodate.
We had a lovely sunny afternoon here. The park is so big. We took the train ride around the bog, which was lovely. We visited the little old cottages which had lots of historical and educational information in the with the audio guides. These were great. The playground is a big one too, with crazy golf, slides, swings, zipwires, climbing frames etc, loads of fun to be had. And there was also a lovely indoor play area, and football pitch. There was a fairy trail and clues also which my gang Loved, and the fairy village is do well done. Definitely recommend it as a great place to spend a family day and use up lots of energy. Also a lovely cafe too.
