Farm-to-table Southern cooking & a bountiful wine list in a relaxed setting with an outdoor veranda.
The place is nice if we didnt hit it on a day that it was filled to capacity we would have has better luck. All our food was great except for the NY strip, it was ordered med. wife got blue raw... she still ate it as the Flavor was kicking. Looking forward to going again on a less busy day.
A lovely, local, upper mid-range restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful, and truly seem interested in the quality of the guest experience. The kitchen is fantastic, serving both traditional Southern plates and southern inspired fare. Truly delicious.
Taste, ambience and staff- PERFECT. If you want a place that is as beautiful as the people are nice, this is it. Fresh bread and a great list of wines without being too pricey. The collard greens had just the right amount of vinegar and the macaroni and cheese was delicious. Definitely going back!
I love this place. Food was excellent. I ordered Cornmeal catfish with creamy grits, topped with bacon, and side of whipped sweet potatoes. The server Mahogany was great and attentive. Server provided excellent suggestions according my partys taste. The manager, Rose, visited the table to ensure great service and satisfaction. Both was on point. Trust me, I will return. Go check it out for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
Delicious drinks and dinner, dessert was disappointing though. The brownie was very dry and hard. Seemed old/stale. Not what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
We had a team of 12 for a work dinner here, great staff & great eats.
Lucky 32 is always stellar, and it never disappoints. The menu changes all the time, and the food is farm to table fresh. You can tell a foodie created the menu. Extensive drink menus, creative offerings, and absolutely amazing staff!
I had dinner here tonight with a friend. Had not been here since pre-, COVID. My dinner was delicious. I had the shrimp cakes with voodoo sauce, Mac and cheese and sweet corn succotash. Wonderful!! The waiter was very nice but I think they were waiting on the outside patio so the service was a little slow. Will definitely be back soon
Family outing with great food. I had the salmon , grits, macaroni and cheese. It was good with some wine. It was during Mother’s Day. It was just loud and they couldn’t hear us as well. But we returned and smooth service and great food again.
One of my favorite restaurant around Greensboro. Staff is super friendly, food is excellent, southern style with fresh products. Menu changes regularly so theres always something new to try. And its reasonably priced. Never been disappointed.Update: still our favorite place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. Food is great. Today we add this plate of southern truffle fries. Best fries ever, didnt know fries could be that good. Cooked perfectly, a bit crunchy, and the garlic sauce 😋
The waitstaff and management helped pull off a great suprise birthday dinner for my friend. The veranda is a beautiful background for a scrumptious meal. Lucky 32 is superb in every way. The seasonal menu selections, the service, ambience, atmosphere and food make for a perfect evening.
We had another great experience on Wednesday evening! Our server was very attentive and provided wonderful service! My favorite food item was the cold cucumber soup and spinach and artichoke dip! The cucumber soup was so refreshing, just as our waiter suggested it would be! The green beans were my least favorite because they didn’t have any flavor at all, so that’s my constructive feedback.
I was generally excited to try this place out. Overall the experience was great. Great service, atmosphere and cocktails. The food, however, is another story. Very bland and while the description sounded fantastic, the flavor just wasnt there.
This is the restaurant that ppl NOT from the South openNice atmosphere, great service, but JFC Bland as... does the Chef even taste beginning of service the quality? You know line check?Short Rib Bread was old short ribs ( barely anydrenched in sweet chili knock off.No flavor to the Artichoke dip outside the crackers helping it.Over cooked Salmon with "lemon butter" (menu didnt clarify a cold piece of compound butter)not a buerre blanc. The sides are an after thought. Oily, Separated Mac n Cheese with no cheese flavour topped with more dry bread crumbs.Collards were greatTrout was decent, soggy skin with so much Cajun spice it could of been tuna and you would of never known.Kids Tortellini, lol never seen any child turn down.. but, you guessed it...dry, sauce less, blandHard to be a Chef and from the South, visit this spot thinking theres a hope and prayer for eclectic Southern food just to be let down. On to the next.
This is the best place in Greensboro to dine , the staff are shrapnel friendly. And not to mention easy on the eye , the menu is fresh clean and in season , and the food is the top of the line , hats off to the kitchen staff and chef for they creat magic on each and every plate.
Lucky 32 provided one of the best dining experiences I have had. I wanted to throw my wife a surprise birthday party and Lucky 32 was beyond helpful in accommodating me during this process. They allowed me to set up decorations and even helped with cutting and distributing the birthday cake. Of course I cant forget to mention the food was amazing and soulful, ESPECIALLY THE APPETIZERS! Big thanks to the awesome manager and awesome staff, everyone was super kind and helpful towards our large party. I would highly recommend this place to anyone whether its a meal for two, or a large dinner party.
The bread was good. My buddy and I enjoyed the NY Strips and were out this word. My wife and my friends wife had Black Bean Cakes and both considered them below average. The fries were excellent! This is a good restaurant however until they update their Black Bean Cakes, they will only receive a fair rating =( Oh, almost forgot to mention their drinks, very good !!
We had a great dinner last night! I had the New York Strip, I believe the steak was cooked sous vide and then finished on the grill based off the look and texture. If I was to say anything negative Id prefer this be stated on the menu as some dont llcare for it. Personally, I enjoyed it and if ever in the area I would return.
I ate there with family for daughter’s college graduation this weekend and the food along with atmosphere was excellent! The staff was very courteous and the manager even assembled our graduation cake for us in the kitchen. I highly recommend them!
If you drifted away or have not yet given it a try, Lucky 32 deserves your attention. On a whim we called Lucky’s for a birthday reservation. They were able to work us in and seated us promptly upon arrival. The food and service were both excellent!! Hannah is top notch! We used to be long time Lucky’s customer dining with them since they opened and even gracing the Cary location when we moved. About 5 years ago, the service and quality dropped dramatically so we stopped visiting. I’m thrilled we gave Lucky’s a try tonight. We will definitely be returning. Hats off to Rose for extraordinary work turning this location of Lucky’s around!! Thanks for the great food and service!!
The food and service are great! Atmosphere is nice, although a little loud at the dinner hour. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are great for the price. Definitely plan to return when were in Greensboro again!
Top tier. If you are in town or a native then take a little time out of your day and get some of this good, southern food! You won’t be disappointed! Great atmosphere, service and food.
Good food, drinks and service. We had a large party with about 10 people, we never had to wait on drinks and that means a lot when you’re hosting an event. Appetizers and main course came out promptly and on time.
I dont see how this place doesnt have 5 stars! We love this place. The atmosphere, service, and food were absolutely incredible. Our server Callie (I think that was their namewas absolutely amazing! The person who ran our food out was great as well (she has shoulder length dreadlocks). Cant wait to come back!
Everything was okay. I had the trout with grits and asparagus salad. I havent been to lucky 32 in a while. Prices are fair, not a real big appetizer selection but the bread they give you is good. 4 stars
The shrimp and grits was extremely disappointing. It was like a salty soup with a tablespoon of grits. I ordered 3 for my siblings and I and we ended up throwing out most of each. It was just not enjoyable. I also ordered the fried chicken and pork chops and bean soup which were also not tasty. Was a waste of my money because majority of the food was tossed. Would not recommend.
We did not have a good experience at Lucky 32. Our friends appetizer came out quickly, and so did my wifes salad. But that was the end of the quick service. It took over 40 minutes for our entrees to be served, and this was after multiple check-ins with our server. After all this, my entree, the Spicy Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich along with my fries were cold. A remake of my sandwich didnt turn out any better except the fries were warm. The server never apologized for the delay or the cold food and a manager never came by to speak with us. To top it all off, I ordered a coffee to have with our dessert and the coffee was luke warm. We were very disappointed with the service in a place that used to pride itself in great customer service. We are not sure we will return.Update: I spoke with the General Manager, Rose, on April 6. She was genuinely sorry for our bad experience and stated they would use my review as a learning experience. After our conversation, we will give Lucky 32 another try. Hopefully, it will be a lot better than our last experience!
Everything from the moment you walk in the door, to every need you may need, they exceeded above and beyond in the customer service. But the chef/cook was amazing. The food was spot on, hot and FRESH. 👏🏾‼️
Really enjoyed my first visit. Staff was courteous. Drinks were strong and well flavored. The short ribs and NY Strip were delicious. So were the side dishes! Music was nice. We will be returning!
Always excellent food and great service!! A regular date night restaurant for us!!
We had a wonderful evening on a busy Saturday night for our Valentines dinner. Great food, wonderful service from the hosts and all the servers. We had Grilled Salmon and a Ribeye with mushrooms. Everything was cooked perfectly. Try the sorbet for dessert. Very nice interior.
Came here for a company dinner, and everyone got something different, and it all was delicious! The servers helped us make great selections we all loved! Good strong drinks too!
This place has an upscale vibe. My husband and I stopped in for an early dinner before attending an event in the area. We felt underdressed in jeans. The wait staff was very friendly and the food was flavorful. I had a chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and bacon. I would definitely visit this restaurant again.
Went on New Years Eve. Despite it being busy staff was friendly, pleasant & our Waiter was wonderful. I ordered the Salmon which was perfectly cooked. My grits were good,as was my Collard Greens.Drinks are delicious & enough alcohol to make you feel you are getting your monies worth. The Parking is a little crazy but Great place with Good Food!
I’ve been wanting to try Lucky 32 for some time. We order the jambalaya w/ a side of collard greens. The jambalaya was undercooked, the rice still had that grainy texture from not being cooked through. More searing on the sausage and shrimp would be nice. Seasoning wasn’t what I expected, as it tasted kinda bland. Maybe it was the undercooked rice that was throwing it off. Overall, the service and staff were nice. Im not too sure I would go back, the jambalaya rice and protein just wasn’t quality.
Great restaurant with great service. The food is always good and the staff is very warm and attentive. Beautiful layout as well and a nice location.
This was a very important night and we literally had to wait 2 1/2 hours for our food to be served to us. The staff was very friendly and respectful and even accommodated us due to the delay of service with complimentary meals for everyone. I know a lot of places are over worked and under staffed so if you are thinking about eating in a restaurant be mindful of that. I had the fried chicken meal with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese with a piece of cornbread on the side! Everything was hot and delicious and the cornbread grew on me it’s sweet and super thick but I definitely enjoyed it.
When I entered the restaurant, the first thing you notice is the relaxed ambiance. I ordered the New York Strip with fries and mashed potatoes and it was all delicious! My girlfriend ordered the skillet-fried chicken and it was very underwhelming. They let us replace her fried chicken free of charge. She got the Suffolk Chicken instead which she really enjoyed. Our server was very nice and accommodating.
We were a party of 7. All we can say is - it was delicious…. Everything was amazing, hot, tender; we all had different items and it was great. Staff was friendly and quickly refilled our drinks. Great recommendations by staff for wine.
I didn’t love it but I didn’t dislike it.Service was fine, not over the top but well.Drinks were on point. We had the shrimp and artichoke dip they give you some stale plastic in the box crackers, we ended up using the bread. This dish seemed to be lacking the shrimp. The catfish however was a delight !Good fillet, cooked to perfection. The cucumber salad and fries tasted great. The shrimp and grits, a bit runny, grits were good but the shrimp were soggy, it was decent but could have been better with a higher quality shrimp.Gulf shrimp or Argentina shrimp FTW.I’ll keep 32 on my list as they had other items I would like to try as I find my key meals there.Prices were on par and I would recommend this place to friends.Stars may change as we try it another time.
My guest and I decided to dine in at this restaurant. I have heard of this restaurant before, but this was my first time eating at this restaurant. I enjoyed my visit here. I like the way that this restaurant gives southern food a sense of pride and class, by way of presentation. This place doesnt have a long extensive menu. Instead, their menu focuses on core southern meals, which isnt necessarily a bad thing. They also have a ton a wine selections on the menu. For my entrée, I ordered the "Campfire Trout," without bacon. It tasted so good. I like the way that they incorporated green onions on top of my trout. My guest ordered the "skillet-fried chicken entree," which camp with grits, green beans and southern cornbread. My guest let me try some food off their entree and their grits are to die for. Ive never tasted grits cooked like that before. Whenever, I visit Greensboro, NC again, I will definitely visit this restaurant again.
Great food. Price is high. Advertised as a southern kitchen definitely a higher class kitchen. Suffolk chicken was amazing came with deep fried grit cake it was wonderful. Would have given it a 5 star buy price kept that from happening 2 adults 2 kids $72
Me and my boyfriend came for the first time for lunch on Valentines Day 2020. Everything was delicious! I got the lunch steak and green beans. The steak was cooked perfectly and the green beans were delicious. He got the catfish with potatoes and the grit cake. He loved everything! His fav was the ham gravy they make and served with it. Service was very good too! We will definitely return
Nice classic southern restaurant. The atmosphere is modern on the formal dining side but, I prefer the bar dining . Dark woods, booths and table with a bar makes for a romantic setting. The brunch was better than expected. Had the catfish, burgers, pulled pork, chicken Benedict with the usual southern sides. Prices were reasonable compared to NY/NJ. Service was attentive and professional. Plenty of parking and facility is handicapped friendly.
Wonderful restaurant in Greensboro for a Sunday Brunch. I have to suggestions for improvement. I was hoping to see a mimosa option on the menu. In addition, while the shrimp and grits was a delightful dish, the grits seemed to be a run of the mill store bought option. I would have liked to see more color contrast between the roux and more texture from the grits. The dish, in my opinion, could be improved by using coarse blue heirloom grits to provide color and texture. In addition, plump gulf coast shrimp could have been used. But dont let my minuscule complaints deter anyone from visiting. I highly recommend this place. The staff is wonderful and so is the back of the house.
This review would of been a 5 star, but the service was awful. The server came by the table to get our drink order and we ordered a drink from the bar plus a non alcoholic drink to sip on. Well it took 20 minutes and the manager had to get them for us. Our server never refilled our drinks. I worked in the food and beverage industry for 15 years and I know when a server is in the weeds. Anyways for the food I rate 5 stars across the board. I got the Sundays dinner special that was pan fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, cornbread and amazing collard greens. My friend got the herb crusted chicken with sauteed spinach. For dessert we had the chocolate peanut butter pie which was more for take home. On the end note we went here for my friends birthday and had this terrible service.
I really enjoyed the meal. The staff was pleasant and engaging. The food was very well prepared with excellent presentation. Overall I liked and enjoyed what I ate. the atmosphere is relaxing and conducive to great conversation.
My Center for Creative Leadership Class wanted to go here for an after class dinner. It was 32 was recommended by instructors and locals. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. It reminded me of a high end stake house! The food was excellent! Ask for the 10% alcohol dark beer. One person mentioned that the salmon tasted fishy... other than that there were no complaints. Save room for dessert, it will be hard because the food is so good. The waitstaff was accommodating of the fact that our group of 15 people wanted individual bills.Be the first to suggest this place to your class!I would go back and have an appetizer just so that I could have space for a dessert.
Food and Service is always great... enjoyed myself and my meal. I had the cat fish it was crunchy crispy breaded moist and juicy on the inside Cooked perfectly. The Collar Greens was a lil under cooked. And even though the fish was laying over the greens. It didnt make the fish soggy. The sauce that was drizzled over, Was mildly flavored in my opinion it could have more flavor.. but over all the food was delicious.
Amy was our server and she had a sling on her arm, which means she did everything one handed. It was probably the best service Ive ever had! She was efficient without hovering. She was friendly and pleasant without being pushy or artificial. I had shrimp and grits, which was phenomenal. The bar area is very cozy, with a great beer selection and I enjoyed the conversation with the bartender, as well. Food and staff are wonderful!
