Lucin Kantun Dubrovnik in Dubrovnik

We quite enjoyed it here. Its in a tiny side lane with very little seating, so we booked an early table. The black risotto was very good. I had tried it in Venice and this was better. The traditional pasta with beef was pretty good, although probably a bit heavy for what I wanted. My partner had the grilled octopus on a bed of chick pea and tomato which was very good. I had a glass of local Rose, which was very pleasant. As is typical for Dubrovnik, its not particularly cheap.

Had to wait for 30 minutes but it was worth it. Small place with limited seating. Black risotto was really good, probably their most desired menu item. Duck breast was also good. Fat rendered nicely and potato puree was tasty with great silky texture. Dessert was good, not too outstanding. They can definitely be more creative in this area. Good experience overall and I’ll go back if get a chance

Opted for the Tuna steak with chard and Duck breast paired with local Croatian wines. Dessert options are of three choices, however the Creme Caramel and Chocolate Orange mousse.The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.We got in at a good time (7.10pmbefore the surge of diners. Overall, total bill around €75 euros far superior quality to the competition.

Very good food. Very friendly service. A few Delicous vegetarian options too. It is very full in the evening so be on time for a table. They have main dishes or tapas.

Excellent meal and service. Walk ins only after 8pm and you can wait on the steps. Lovely wine and fresh fish with a very relaxed and professional open kitchen. Would recommend to anyone, thank you so much.

Really nice location and food! Good vegetarian options also, we had the mint hummus for starter and I had the vegetarian risotto for main while my partner had the duck. All really tasty and decently priced, service and drinks were also great too. Free bread was also really tasty and they brought out more without charging for it :)We reserved online via email for 6:30pm which was a good time (other reviews said they don’t take reservations after 7pm). Would recommend reserving as post 7pm the stairs are full of people waiting for a table, waiting around 30 mins - 1 hour.

This was a great experience with creatively prepared Croatian food with great service and a nice atmosphere. We were with a large group that sampled quite a few things. The beef was a stand out but everything we had was above what we expected. The restaurant is tiny and the toilets are even smaller and the Air Conditioning couldn’t keep up (even by European standardson a hot day. With a lot of choices in Dubrovnik, this was a stand out.

It was a nice experience but not a great one. The fried sardines was a medium plate (my husband hated it). The black risotto was the best 👌 of everything. We also ordered smoked mussels which was alright but very expensive for the amount and some fried potatoes which in such an expensive place should have been fresh cut not frozen. The lavender cocktail 🍸 was a hit for me!

The best food in Dubrovnik! It’s the unique experience to have great seafood. The server was so nice and explained the food in details. We went to this place twice during our 4 nights stay (as we missed for 1 night due to the full reservation). Highly recommend!!

Tasty restaurant in the centre of Old Town in Dubrovnik. Mixed grilled fish was amazing, and the dessert as well.There might be queue on the stairs before entering: ask the friendly guys how much you’ll have to wait and decide accordingly (it will be worthy in the case!)

Certainly worth the wait. The restaurant doesn’t disappoint. Staff were great!The restaurant doesn’t accept bookings after 6:45pm. So go there get on the queue outside, get a drink, sit on the stairs and people watch.Once seated service is quick. We had a main & 3 tapas for two people. Local wine.Delicious and would say it’s a must place to try the black risotto, tuna tartare, octopus.

Amazing food here! We came to Lucin Kantun after our tour guide recommended us this restaurant. It did not disappoint! We tried the shrimp Cesar salad, the pea soup and the duck breast. Everything was delicious, especially the pea soup and duck breast(cooking was spot on). Well definitely come back next time we visit Dubrovnik. Also, staff was very friendly.

Best dining experience in Dubrovnik. Within the city walls there are plenty of restaurants to choose from but MAKE SURE YOU TRY THIS ONE. Make a reservation before 7p and get in before the crowds build on the stairs hoping for a chance to eat there. It is a wonderful restaurant with fantastic service and each plate makes you stop and say "wow." The taste matches the presentation. Great drink list with beer and wines. If I could have tried everything on the menu I would have. We tried a number of small plates and the grilled octopus main dish and there was nothing left. This is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner. Beautiful setting in the old streets of a wonderful town. Also, the price is surprisingly good for what you get. Especially compared to other spots in the area who cant even come close to offering a meal like this. A+ all around. Definitely, cannot recommend enough.

Had an amazing experience at the restaurant. The restaurant is just off one of the side streets close to the main entrance. The service was very attentive and gave you information about the dishes as well as bringing out hot food timely. I had the mint hummus and baked octopus both of which were fantastic and would have again. The food as well as being tasty was reasonably priced. Myself and my partners meal along with drinks was around 70 euroes which was very reasonable.

Great place for evening dinner, place is small in sitting capacity but the food taste and warm hospitality covers up for everything. No complaint we really loved the cocktail and specially the sea food platter.

We dined here last night after just walking past.The waitress was delightful.Fabulous food. We had the bread, which looked like it was homemade and was really good. I had the duck and it was the best duck I have ever eaten and my husband had the tuna steak, which was cooked perfectly to his liking of rare. We shared an orange mousse, perfect to finish off with as light and delicate, not too rich.Tried the local beers and wine and they were very good.The service was very efficient and fast.A lovely evening and great way to start our trip to Croatia.

We are on the 25th day of our honeymoon, 4 countries, 8 cities and this has been the BEST FOOD OF OUR ENTIRE TIME. Each dish is uniquely prepared with wildly fresh ingredients. Every single bite was a delight and left us feeling full and so happy. It was great to see local ingredients and dishes featured on the menu. This is a very class restaurant with a laid back feel and very reasonable prices. It would be impossible to find something THIS delicious with THESE prices and SUCH a positive experience anywhere else in the old city of Dubrovnik. Its insane because its next to 2 Michelin star restaurants and I think its probably better than both! GO HERE, GO HERE, GO HERE. And order the Pea soup, no matter what you do.

This place is a gem and the chef is a mad genius. We had tuna tartare, pea soup, black risotto, and baked octopus. Each dish was perfect in its own way (but the pea soup deserves special praise). Please do yourself a favor and visit Lucin Kantun.

Really wonderful dinner within the city walls, tucked off the main entrance. Lovely friendly staff (Maria), and delicious food. We thoroughly enjoyed our first meal in Dubrovnik here and will definitely go back!

Got a steak that was fairly modest for an entree but our fault, we came to the sea to get a steak? Not bad, but wouldnt order again.

Great lunchtime meal with wine! We opted for the prawn caesar salad and the chicken caesar salad....staff were friendly and helpful but really enjoyed the food. Restaurant found down a side alley in a tight walkway which adds to its quaint and unique feel.

Very good food! We enjoyed the tuna tartar, salad with shrimp, and duck breast.The prices are pretty expensive especially for the small table.

Top quality food and service, couldn’t fault anything on the food or wine list, and prices were reasonable for the excellent quality. Crispy squid and beef tapas pictured - highly recommend.

Cute place in a narrow alley with kitchen in sight.If u dont get a table right away can sit on the stairs (they provide cushionsand have a drink while u wait.Eclectic menu, well presented and good for sharing.The rose wine by the glass was very good.Nice crew and crowd.Good prices for the experience.Recommended if in the old town.

Really fantastic, interesting food and friendly attentive service. Our waitress helped us choose from the tapas menu, and everything we ate was vibrant, nicely balanced and flavourful. The kind of meal you feel fantastic after eating. Great, fresh, cold draught beer too.

One of the best Oso Bucco ever. Sea food risotto from the tapas was delicious. 100 recommend this place.

Very nice restaurant. Great service. Food served with style. Some of the dishes were great, others were ok. The best plates, that we loved:: black risotto with cheese ice cream, grilled octopus, and baked brie cheese. Not so good: tuna tartar, and fish soup (not good). Overall great restaurant!! Nada

We had a cheese board followed by three tapas dishes to share, which is a great way to try a few different local dishes, all were very nice, the carafe of house wine was good value as well

The beef with pasta was great; very tasty and spices were on point. We also orders the fish platter for two and got a feast. Everything was delicious but the prawns were a little over cooked. Overall the atmosphere is great and the cocktails and wine were good as well! I would totally recommend

Lovely place in a side street. Service was really great. Food is a great selection of tapas. The fish soup was excellent, and the duck breast was cooked extremely well.I definitely recommend it, a good experience, but for the price it wasnt quite good enough to get five stars from me. Some of the dishes were missing a final touch to make it really great or relied too much on a sauce for the flavors instead of the actual ingredients.

The service was amazing, the location is cute and cozy. The food was bad and so expensive! We had the veggie risotto, the octopus, chips, sardines and seafood in some smoke mouse... the sardines were amazing! All of the rest was really not good and we did not even finish it. Chips were incredibly salty and not crunchy. Risotto was very bland and tasted like frozen veggies with a Maggie cube. The seafood with this smoke mouse were a good concept bit the execution was just not it. It was not a balanced meal. The octopus was way overcooked and was almost like gum already. The taste was good with onions and tomato. There were chickpeas on the side which I dont understand next to octopus. The gin & tonic we had was good and as I said the service and personal was outstanding. All of this cost us 100 euro (760 kunasfor 2 persons, which Im happy to pay for good food. Sadly this was not it.

Good solid cooking which never quite hit the mark. My Osso Bucco was well prepared, tender and moist a rich sauce. The sweet potato mash that went with it though was a little too sweet, and a touch underseasoned to make the perfect accompaniment. Rather less mash (and better seasoned), and the addition of some veg of some kind, would have made for a more balanced dish.Similarly the meringue with the lemon tart was over-sweet, as the tart itself was quite sweet.Overall an enjoyable meal but not one that will linger in the memory as long as some.

Wonderful place for dinner. The grilled seafood plate and risotto here were amazing. The cuttlefish risotto is the best I have tasted compared to all other places.

Amazing experience! I went to try their black risotto with cheese and it didnt disappoint. The house red wine was really good, unlike house wines normally are. They dont have lactose free options, so mind that. Service was very friendly and polite. The corn bread on the side was unusual and delicious, from a local bakery. Highly recommend!

Very cozy atmosphere with good service and quality food! We got the seafood platter to share between 3 of us along with two mains (duck and octopus). We were all full afterwards and loved the flavor of all of the dishes.

I stumbled upon Lucin Kantun while meandering the lane ways of the old city in the early afternoon. Reviews sounded promising. So I returned for dinner and was pleasantly delighted to find that the food is really top notch! Nice waiter and chef attended to me. It was a quiet evening but certainly a memorable meal.

The food was great, the service was excellent and the restaurant is very well located - Away from the crowds but close to everything!My partner and I went there and were lucky enough to get the table right in front of their kitchen; it was impressive to look at them cook and prepare every plate with so much care.If you’re looking for something that will leave you satisfied, look no further, this is a must-stop in Old Town.The wine was also very good!I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Amazing restaurant. We had the tuna tartar, sardines, beefsteak tagliata and octopus salad. They were all outstanding, but the tuna tartar was the best of all. Highly recommended.

Fantastic meal! It’s in a shaded alleyway with little traffic so quite the relaxing meal. The cocktails were all absolutely delicious. The octopus salad was one of the best we had in Dubrovnik. The other appetizers and mains were all delicious too. It can get very busy though so get there early (by noonfor lunch or make a reservation for dinner.

I recommend this restaurant to everyone whos looking for delicious food in Dubrovnik. Finally a tuna steak was grilled perfectly and Cesar salad taste like it supposed to. Tuna tatar was extremely tasty. You should try their lavender G&T! There was nothing which I wouldnt recommend! Thank you for your service! Enjoy!

The lavender drink came recommended and I will happily pass that recommendation onward. Very refreshing.The waiter recommended the tuna tartar which was delicious, fresh and made from fine quality fish as good as the best Ive had in Japan.Lovely service, quaint location and decent pricing.This was a top choice from trip advisor and I can see why. Can be busy so be sure to be book or wait for a table during peak hours.

Very good restaurant with a nice staff. If you didnt book your table youll wait but the waiters and waitress will bring you something to drink if you want and get a table for you as quick as possible. Dishes are fresh and tasty, we were well advised with a good wine, I recommend this restaurant !

Great dinning option in the alleys of Dubrovnik!They don’t accept reservations, so try and either come early or ready for a 1 hour wait or so. You can still have drinks while you wait, so it’s not that terrible.The food is really good, diversified and offers some of the great local selection.We had the seafood platter and the staff was also kind enough to offer us alternatives to some seafood we don’t eat.Service was great, along with the homemade bread.

Passed by Lucin on the way to my hostel every day and finally decided to try it before I headed to the airport. Such a great decision!!I absolutely recommend the tuna tartare, it’s phenomenal. The black risotto was also very tasty, very very rich in flavor.I ordered the duck breast as a main and the whole dish was so great. The sweet potato purée was a nice touch, tasted to fluffy!I also really enjoyed the Lavender Gin and Tonic. Everything here was so lovely :)
