Food was decent, but when the owner warned.us that we would have to wait a little for the dishes, I couldnt have imagined waiting for almost 1.5 hours. They didnt even think to bring us some extra bread or complementary deserts. And it just made no sense - the table next to us got their starters, mains and deserts before we got anything - this is just extremely poor kitchen management skills

The most amaizing restaurant in Lucca!!

The place is relatively expensive and we ordered 5 different dishes that each was them was not good. We waited for ever for the dishes and in the end were extremely disappointed. When we wanted to change they said it will take an hour until we get a different dish and refused to give a refund for one of them.

Truly fantastic experience.I was spending holidays with my family 4 adults and 1 child.We wisited this place two times to eat a dinner.The food was excellent. The owner is amazing. He talked with us in English and some Polish :His wife Anita is from Szczecin.We really felt very good at this place. I can totally recommend this place due to great food, fantastic owner and good service. Dont hesitate and just try it.

Very very tasty food, the lasagne excellent. The waitor speaks perfekt english. The owner was so nice to our childeren as well 😃😃

Very lovely place on street. Delicious food. We find table without reservation (you have to reserve table in lot of restorant, especially between 19:30 -21:30)

The owner Michael was such a sweetheart. He put his arm around my husbands shoulders and said come back later as they were closed earlier around 4 PM for the traditional siesta.We are so happy that we came back because the food was incredible. Being vegan, he was incredibly accommodating. He even brought us complementary lemoncello which was a sweet touch.

The food was amazing! And the service as well, super friendly. Wish I could eat here every day ;-)

We were looking for a relaxed restaurant a little outside the epicenter of Lucca, spontaneously decided to eat here tonight for two and it was really wonderful. The service was exceptional and so was the food. Even if you are looking for vegan dishes, this is the place to go. Highly recommended! Thanks!

We came here for diner, and we had a nice experience there: the staff is really kind and their homemade Limoncello tastes so great ! The caprese portion was a bit small but the rest of the food was great

We had a wonderful lunch at Lucca in Tavola. The great warmth and hospitality of the owner is unique. The food was also wonderful and very tasty. If we are in Lucca again, we will definitely visit the Ristorante again.

Stumbled across this restaurant looking for dinner. My husband eats a standard diet but I eat plant based/ vegan so sometimes we struggle a bit to find a restaurant that suits both our needs. It was nice to see the sign outside saying they had vegan options. Michele was super helpful pointing out and reassuring which options were vegan…I had the bruschetta al pomodoro and ferretti pasta. Both were delicious and the house wine was lovely. Happily recommend for vegan and non vegans.

The servers were very friendly and gave their best to make us feel welcome. As Primi piatti we had the penne vodka e salmone. As main course we had the grilled marinated steak and the tagliatelle alla michelangelo. All three dishes were excellent! The Steak was perfectly tender. Will definitely visit again, if we get the chance!

That’s great that the place is open between lunch and dinner when other places are usually closed, however seems a bit overpriced. Food is good, but nothing special

The owner, Michele, is a wonderful and welcoming host. His wife is the chef and she has a gift for preparing seafood. Although all of her dishes are delicious. Save room for one of her amazing deserts. We always trust Micheles wine suggestions. Superb food at a reasonable price.

We came for an early Father’s Day meal with our 23 month old child. The pastas and main were fresh and delicious. Both our waiter and the owner were so nice, they made us and our son feel welcome! We had a wonderful meal and will be back soon.

I totally recommend going here for lunch or dinner! The owner is very welcoming and friendly. The food is freshly cooked and its delicious!

Dinner with friends during Lucca Comics & Games.Service was friendly and we managed to find a spot without a reservation which is very difficult during the festival. Our entrées came in very late, with a slightly faster service afterwards.Menu was not the usual one, as they offered a special Comics menu. Food was OK, without guts or glory, with decently made pasta and meat.We got the house wine, again a decent choice, but nothing to phone home about.Prices are jacked because of the period, but felt slightly too high for the overall experience.

Nice food, friendly staff what seems to be a family run restaurant

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Whenever Im nearby on vacation, I make sure to stop by to have a meal at Michele and his team. You get drawn in by the atmosphere, stay because of the great food and come back because of the kindness of Michele.

We went for lunch but there was not much food to choose from, only about 5 courses. We still decided to sit here and having lunch cause we were hungry. But the food that we received was not fresh at all, it was warmed up in the microwave. Thr Owner told me that it was fresh but it was clearly not, the taste was not good.

Very good restaurant, the tartufo and pistacchio pecorino pastas are delicious. Be aware that if you are a big group you will not be served at the same time, but its usually a good sign since it means that its all home made.

My family comes here every time we visit Lucca. The food is always great and Michael, the owner, is always very kind and social! Food always tastes fresh and it comes in a great portion! Definitely recommend!!

Marvellous food! Excellent service! We came three times and tried fish, meat, various antipasti, the deserts and of course wine, it was all delicious.The waiter (Lucas?was very kind and with perfect manors. Michele is a great host and his wife the perfect chef!We will always come again. Thank you for everything.

We ate here last night after reading all the positive reviews. Please note, we had a big lunch and I really wasn’t all that hungry but I ate every morsel put in front of me.First let me begin by saying the service by Michele and Stefania made the night. They were attentive, engaging and gave great recommendations. By the end of the night there were hugs for my husband and a kiss for each of my cheeks like we were old friends.Then consider the food. My husband will eat anything that has truffle and it did not disappoint. I ate the ferretti with pecorino and pistacchio. OMG. Was I surprised!! We actually considered ordering a second plate but we decided to save ourselves for dessert. Please again note that me least favorite dessert is Tiramisù. Michele’s wife makes it and it was divine. I could not believe it. I ate it so fast.This was our best meal in Lucca and we will return to Lucca in Tavola next time we are back.

Great food prepared with the heart. Hospitality like at your home. Nice area and on the walking distance from the parking outside the city walls.

After spending two weeks in Italy, I can honestly say that this was the absolute BEST food and service from a restaurant of our entire vacation. The food is pure Tuscan perfection, the atmosphere was intimate, and we left feeling like family. This place is a destination of its own...and it will forever live in our memories of Italy.

Fantastic food, fantastic family serving you as if you were in their home, completely flexible menu IF by chance you don’t see the PERFECT meal on the extensive menu ( vegetarian, veganand of course, wonderful vino and cafe! Must experience this place. You will be welcomed!!

We had a late lunch so the Risotto was not available. We had the pizza and Spaghetti.The service was very friendly and the menus were very large. For a tourist location, it was good service and foodServing sizes were a little on the small size for both the spaghetti and the pizza. If they could add a little more portion size, it would be perfect. They do not provide bread with the spaghetti and is an extra charge.Pricing: expected to be at €15 per person (including water and beer). They charge you for the most expensive beer even if you have the cheaper beer. Would get better stars if they were honest.

We had just arrived in Lucca from Pisa airport. This was the first restaurant we came across. The service was excellent and the owner spoke good English. The food was really good - not cheap but not overpriced either. The owner called a taxi for us as we had our luggage with us and needed to get to our hotel.

We ate in many restaurants while visiting different regions in Italy and this was by far one of the best meals on our journey. Lovely atmosphere, wonderful friendly staff and tasty meals. The price was also much better than many other places and was half of the cost of Pisa. Well worth the visit!

I recommend this restaurant with no hesitation. First and foremost, the staff are really, really wonderful; very kind, friendly and welcoming. The manager/owner was extremely attentive and our waitress was SO lovely!I recommend the Tuscan vegetable soup; it was so delicious- hearty, warming and with a rustic home made taste. Excellent! I had grilled chicken to follow which was really well cooked; tender, with a lemon garlic light broth-style sauce. After the meal, they offered us limoncello and some little biscuits- a nice touch. Our waitress was also really patient and helpful with questions we had!Go here if you want an unpretentious, homecooked meal with lovely staff.We will return next time were in Lucca! :)

Not a whole lot of vegetarian options outside the staple Margherita and pasta with tomato sauce. This dishes were very delicious though! The gnocchi Pomodoro was especially good. Reasonable prices and friendly service.
