Louis Take Away in Zürich (Kreis 12)

Lovely french-style restaurant.

My always go to place for mussel. Love the food and service!

Note: Louis Take Away is next to the main restaurant and has a different menu. I went here and got a very nice steak baguette sandwich. Service was fast and straightforward. Even though its a take away restaurant there is some seating

very close to the french standard of brasseries. a bit expenssive ... a nice touch would had been if someone would had been french spoken

Very good food, a bit pricey, but the portion of moules/mussles is sufficient not to be hungry, unlike in a few other places in Zurich

Always delicious! The moules are very good and tasty!

We just had a Gin Tonic there but they were spot on and the service super attentive and friendly.

Die Pepitos in the take away are still as good as for 40 years. The hot sauce is very good and prices have increased but there are chairs to enjoy the sabdwich The charm of the place is a bit different than before, but for quick bite is ok

Great food and service in a very retired relaxed outdoor atmosphere

I went with my wife a few days back. Staff was nice. The menu was maybe a bit limited. Escargots were really good but the oysters were just ok. Moulet and frites "Louis" version had a good and strong flavor, but the "Marinara" version was a bit plain. Frites were already cold when served. Overall an ok experience but Im not sure I would go back again

Very nice place in the heart of Zurich. Ambiance is very nice, cozy, and comfortable. We really liked the french onion soup. Depth of flavor for the soup was easily noticeable. It makes you keep digging in. We also tried branzino and loved the flavor. We would definitely go there next time we visit Switzerland.

The food was actually quite good. However, this is not a single $ restaurant. It was definitely fine dining prices. Unfortunately, at the end of the meal, the waiter confronted my wife, and demanded that we add 5 to 10% to the total bill as a tip. This was the only time in our two week trip to Switzerland that this happened. Our research indicated that tipping was optional and minimal. The waiter also got one of the orders of our party wrong. Disappointing experience to be hustled on one of the last nights of our trip.

I love this place. Both the outside take away booth, the lively terrace and the restaurant inside are a gem to Zurich. Best onion soup, amazingly presented tatare.

The staff is very friendly and the restaurant actually pretty nice. But to be honest the food was average and slightly overpriced for what it is.

I dont like leaving negative reviews but I feel I have to now. This place is incredibly EXPENSIVE, even for Swiss standards. The staff is nice, but you feel very much like youre work to them. The food is... Well its okay. But the money... Yes, Switzerland and especially Zürich are expensive, but 28 CHF (~26 EUR, 30 USDfor a burger and some fries is steep, especially if that burger is average at best. The place is nice, but the price/quality ratio is ridiculous.

Our experience at Louis Brassiere was quite frustrating. The food was okay but super overpriced and what was called "Kartoffelstroh" on the side were 4 tiny pommes frites. There are better options near by..

the BEST french fries ever. I have never eaten better french fries anywhere else. The sauce is another level of good. (you should like garlic)

I loved the wine and Moules Provençale I had here.

I went for the Monday all you can eat clams and enjoyed it. I only had clams but service was good and food as well. They clams cooked in different style and you can try multiple ones. Restaurant was not crowded (Monday night). Good experience

The food was pretty good, but the service was really slow. The waiting staff seemed to be new, which is fair, but I think its on the management to avoid to have an evening handled by new staff exclusively and too few waiters to properly tend to the restaurants patrons.

During our 4 day stay in Zurich we dined here 3 times due to the fact that the price was very reasonable but more important the food was very good and tasty. Small menu yet quality food. Claire was very professional, warm and friendly. We found that a lot of local people eating here and that was a clear indication of the quality of the food. I highly recommend this place to everybody who lives in or visits Zurich.

very friendly staff... although one more wouldnt hurt. we had to wait quite a while a couple of times, as there were only 2 guys serving inside & outside at the same time.the food was delicious and well worth the wait. prices are good.would recommend and go there again.

Nothing special, for the price would definitely rather go to a kebab shop in the area. Had the steak sandwich and the meat is cooked for absolutely ages on the grill considering how thin the meat is and the sandwich assembling is very poor. The sauce is pretty good but that’s all you taste in the end. Bread is crispy and fresh.

My wife and I were strolling down the main shopping/restaurant street in Zurich (Niederdorfstrasseand found Louis Brasserie and decided to stop in for lunch. They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. I had the Croque Monsieur and my wife the mussels. Her muscles were delicious and if you go for dinner there are several different selections to choose from. For lunch its simple wine, butter and shallots as a sauce. I give it 4 stars because my sandwich was ok, not great. Otherwise, the service is excellent and again its in a great location. If you are looking to smoke a cigar upstairs from the restaurant is a cigar bar called Tinas.

Good food and good service, but there are so many flies in the summer that eating there becomes simply unpleasant.

Very nice restaurant with French cuisine, a great place for eating moules. Beautiful interior with quite some charm. There is also an outside area.

I just left this place because two of the male waiters pretended that they were busy and ignored my presence to get a table. I am now at another restaurant writing this review. I doubt all the positive reviews here is FAKE!

The mussels are a must try. They come with excellent, extra thin and crispy fries.

Food was good, the place is right in the old town. The staff was not really nice to be honest and the prices were a bit high even here in Zürich.

Excellent service. Our dinners were very good.Outside dining and the weather was perfect.

I only went to the quick take out option. The food is very nice and good value for the price. It can be a bit messy though so be careful how you eat it!
