Louis Rasmussen Day Park in Hazel Dell

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful park along the pure and slow moving Columbia River. Quiet, very little foot traffic. Great place to bring the pups and take in a deep breath to relax. Ill definitely be coming here often now that Im living in the area. Five stars everyday from me!

I stopped to walk my dog, its a decent park. However after about 10 minutes, security parked behind my car, and watched me for about 20 minutes, until I left. It was a very uncomfortable experience, and there was no reason for them to be watching me, and only me, while I was there. Am very disappointed

Very nice park. I actually took my wife here for our first date. It has a path above the beach and volleyball. It has shelters and a beach to swim at. It has tennis courts and basketball. Then at the end of the walk is a McMenamins that is huge with cool views and it looks very nice as well. Also has some totem poles that have been there for years, I know they took one down because of rot however still really cool and historically significant.

Gorgeous park. Safe, clean, waterfront park.

Very good park. Sandy shore warm water we were there in August. There are eating areas, valley ball nets, a little area for working out, long walking trails, public restrooms. This park has a rail road very close, occasionally train passes by. The park is well taken care of clean and tidy. Good place for a family pick nick.

The beach has a very steep drop off so everyone should wear a flotation vest.There was a lovely breeze. Lots of trees if you want shade.

Lovely place to walk, picnic and watch ships.

Nice and clean. People are friendly. Havent had much luck fishing there, though 😕

Its a good walk, but the beach part is not that great

A place to walk, walk your dog, or bike in the fresh air along the river. There are also a sand volleyball court and net, a basketball court, a tennis court, and grass lawn for frisbee. There are picnic tables with shelter, There are clean restrooms too. There is a nice beach along the river. The childrens playground is right next to a band shell with cement and grass seating. There is a large nice restaurant next to the park with outdoor as well as indoor seating. The marina is also right there.

Indeed,a fantastic pit stop along i-5, especially the paved path to walk our dogs. Theres a playground, a really tall totem pole, popular shore fishing, picnic shelters, tennis and sand volleyball courts, horse shoes, doggie bags (to pick up after your pets-- please do so!and restrooms (which were unfortunately locked during our visit). Walk over to the marina to walk the boardwalk that circles it. What a great place!

Beautiful.....very family oriented atmosphere! Play ground for children and for adults to play basketball, tennis and volleyball!

Theyve got a clean beach restrooms and also offer a vollyball area a place to bbq grass area all the way down beside sidewalk. Id recommend it for family outtings.

Was there for BD party & the park is just beautiful. Very clean & well cared for.

Great RV dump station if you can find it. It’s in the main parking area as pictured. Bathrooms are usually nice and clean. Lots of activities available.

Nice place to go for a walk.Good place to relax, then ask your self why is someone yelling at me to move when I was parked ,I believe I heard "dont come back" I also "go back to where Im from" , I was going home just down the road .Ill go back this place of course .I cant have it all to your selves .Im from here .Kinda

Great boat ramp and Sandy long beach. The hike up from the water could be a challenge for the less able. The hills is all sand

Lovely walking path along the rivers edge. There are nice picnic areas and sports areas throughout.

I luv this park. Volleyball nets, nice playground. Bathrooms. Beautiful landscaping along the columbia river.

Large grassy park along the river. Several pavilions, playground for the kiddos, tennis courts, walking paths. Multiple restrooms and a couple of food options. Dogs are supposed to be leashed. Access to a long stretch of beach front along the river.

Great place for friends and family to spend time!

Nice Beach with boat launch paved and unpaved. Also motor vehicles are allowed to park on the beach yet there are plenty of spaces in the parking areas. Tennis and basketball courts,picknik areas horse shoe pits, volleyball areas. This is a 1 choice for outdoor activities free. But remember NO Booze allowed in the park. At both ends of the park you will find Mc Minnemins. An area favorite for food and micro beverages. Yes booze sold on premises. Have fun and enjoy a safe, clean , new side of the town of Kalama. We are on our way to eugene, or from Seattle. We needed a break to eat dinner with a group of people. Followed signs on road and we ended up this place. It is a very good place with lake, open park, kids play area, picnic tables and they have a big open theater. People are enjoying food while watching movie. Very relaxing.

Whenever I wanna enjoy a day in the water and tan I always come here. Its clean, has shaded areas to eat and bathrooms. All along the area are different amenities. A fenced dog friendly park. Childrens park. Sports areas. Youre right by Mcmenamins and a cute cabin that serves alcoholic beverages. A neat place in Kalama.

We stopped here to have a picnic lunch on the way home from spending the weekend on the Olympic Peninsula, and I’m pretty sure it was our baby’s favorite part of the whole trip! Beautifully maintained park with lots of grass and shade right along the water. Super easy access off the freeway. We didn’t go down to the beach area, but hopefully we will be back!

Great place to picnic while traveling along scenic I5 hwy.Good place to meet new friends.Was challenged to a basketball game by Alexis. And she won P to my pig...Along w her brother Jackson and father Michael cheering her on to victory.Smell some steaks grilling. In smellaroma..Gotta go.Until next we meet again.I say gooday...

Beautiful scenery and very relaxed. Nice little covered areas to picnic, take a walk or let your dog walk you. Sit and watch the water and a pub with good food. 😊

Easy access of freeway, plenty parking, sandy beach, large grass areas, playground, covered picnic table areas, public restrooms, close to McMenamins and their little auxiliary pub..

Nice quiet spot to hang out with my kids on the way to pick up my wife in woodland every day. Has basketball courts volleyball courts a playground couple places to grab a drink and a nice view of the river...

Nice little beach and park area. Parking, pavilions, tennis court, shady grass walkways, basketball court, rest rooms, sand volleyball courts, and it looks like an amphitheater is being built.

This is a nice park, with tennis courts. On the north and south sides of the park you will find lots of fresh beer. This park makes for a great evening out with the family or for a magical date night with a river sunset. Feel free to stroll along the beach for a close up look at the raging Columbia river.

Nice place right next to the Columbia river alongside I 5. We stopped by for a lunch break and had a food time. The kids playground next to the park was very nice. Parking was a bit limited but probably because of a large event going on next to it. Recommended!

My family and I had an amazing time at the beach!!! It was our first time there and we were expecting to have to hike a bit. To my delight, parking was very close and accessible to all areas of the beach. There were basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, sheltered areas with tables, and port-o-potties for those who "gotta-go". The beach was clean and so was the park, with garbage cans available throughout. There were also paved paths running parallel to the river, perfect for jogging or strolling with your sweetie. Im sure there are many more attractions that we did not get to explore due to time constraint, but no worries, were gonna go back! My recommendation is, dont forget your sunblock!

Love this park,. It has a lot of amenities, like beach volley ball, tennis courts and lots of open space next to the Columbia River. They are even currently building an amphitheatre to host live music in the park. Great views of the river and Mcmenimans next door.

Very nice grounds right on the water . Easy for fishing with the family. Picnicking, playground, horse shoe pits and tennis. Dog friendly. Boating.

Beautiful park. Great place to take kids. Nice that they have free showers to wash off feet after walking in the sand. And a covered picnic area.

5 min drive from home! Love seeing the wildlife, sometimes bald eagles. Lots ofBirds! Trains, boat traffic & other dog lovers.

Always clean accept during annual dog show then it is vomit worthy for those 2-3 days and couple to follow. 360 days, heavenly.
