Loughcrew Caravan and Camping Park - in Navan, Ireland
A great place to stay. Beautiful, peaceful setting. They provide toilets and showers at no extra cost. Lovely couple who own it. They came around each evening and stopped for a chat. Walk up the hill to the cairn but be sure to get one of the OPW guides to explain what youre looking at. Childrens play area in view of the caravan pitches so easy to keep an eye. Go into Ballyjamesduff and visit the Cavan County Museum. Well worth the 20-minute drive.
Excellent campsite.Friendly owners. Clean facilities.Nice and quiet.
The camping area is on the side of a hill. I paid for 2 nights and left after the first, the battle with gravity was not worth it.
Lovely campsite. V clean and well managed. Definitely recommend loughcrew.
Spent a fantastic 2 nights here. Lovely friendly campsite. Owners lovely, friendly and helpful. clean toilet and shower blocks. Campers kitchen v good but ..only drawback no fridge for campers...coffee shop and shop .. plenty to do in the area
Fantastic campaign spot everything you need on site showers are spotless kitchen has everything you need..highly recommend watching the sun set
Nice campers kitchen, coffee shop and a small playground. Caravan pitches were the smallest we have encountered , a caravan with an awning would be less than a metre from your neighbour. Power kept tripping.Toilet/shower block too small. Access roads from both directions was very narrow with one side being quite steep for any one nervous about pulling a van. Waste water disposal area quite poor. Its a really nice setting with some nice facilities but is way below the standard of most modern caravan parks.
A beautiful spot. A hike up to the cairns is a must. Site is very well run.
Perfect camping experience. Sarah and Niall are great hosts too!! An easy recommendation.
Lovely place to stay with family, staff were great and very friendly. Good facilities for caravaning.
Just had a coffee here .beautiful area .looked at the camping area looked lovely and the glamping looked beautiful hoping to stay here in the near future
Nice quiet site, only fault was power kept tripping.
Small and in a lovely location. Met some lovely locals from Oldcastle. We enjoyed talking with Santiago and Luke, great guys.
Fabulous place, very quiet with lovely walks about, beautiful view. The facilities were very clean and its the loveliest campers kitchen Ive ever seen. Nice little playground, games room and cafe on site too. The game room charges for each arcade game, there are billiards table, fuse ball, air hockey and claw machine. They are each charged a certain amount of coins. The children enjoyed the billiards table very much, it costs a euro to play, I think we spent almost 20€ during our stay.
Had a wonderful weekend, great campsite however there are a couple of points to mention, the campsite area itself was very sloped which doesnt seem to show in photos and also there were a few rocks in the ground which bent tent pegs so hard ground pegs are recommended, and a mallet. The bathrooms were beautifully clean and cleaned very regularly which was great to see, and there was a play area that the kids loved. The cairns are incredibly close to the campsite which was great as well.
Lovely campsite, great facilities, quiet, family friendly. Power supply for touring is poor but super kitchen facilities with plenty of sockets, cooker x 2, sinks and bench seats. Nice little playground, coffee shop and beautiful surroundings, would recommend.
Loved it, ancient cairns right beside it. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were lovely. Great scenery.
Had a fabulous weekend, the yurts are gorgeous and so comfortable. The grounds are so well maintained and spotless. The campers kitchen is a great size with everything you need. The cafe on site has lovely coffee & cakes. The views are fantastic around the campsite. Blessed with great weather. Will definitely be back, thank you for a great weekend :)
Guys I have to put it out their. Back today from Loughcrew 6 nights in caravan and without a shadow of doubt the best Campers kitchen iv ever seen facilities are 100% Spotless and well equipped Games room very entertaining for teens .Playground is small but kids will enjoy. Walks and parks withing 20 drive.Lough Lene was the place to be as the weather was fab.The Abbey was so interesting and the gardens was magical kids loved both.So much to see and do.Will definitely go back and recommend to those who like to enjoy a peaceful break.Staff are always on hand to help. They have glamping field,Caravan ,Campervan park and a huge camping pitch
Beautiful location... Polly and Lar are legends .....🧚♀️🧚♂️Showers are amazing Places is Spotless clean definitely be back
Great camp site. Lovely people and great location. Will be back soon
Great place. Very friendly and welcoming. Lots of space and well maintained.
Great spot, though I would recommend pitching the tent in the lower half of the field as the top area was quite sloped. Lovely cafe with excellent ice cream. Brilliant cleaning regime and covid guidelines fully adhered to. Very friendly and helpful staff and owners. Wonderful area with plenty to see and do for all ages.
Excellent time. Great staff and facilities. One small issue is that the non electric tent site is on a slope, but all in all family and dog had a great time.
Great place, very friendly staff. Plenty to see and do for a few nights and lots of other children for the kids to play withWill definitely return.
Just home from a great 2 nights camping trip to this wee gem of a site - even with Covid restrictions we felt very safe and there were plenty of hand sanitizing stations everywhere, the communal toilet/shower block was cleaned very regularly, was well stocked with toilet roll and hand wash, along with hand sanitizer and all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There is a very large, well equipped campers kitchen, a play ground and a games room, along with a coffee shop on site. No electric hook up in tent field, but for 2 nights it wasnt necessary anyway - plenty of charging points in kitchen and games room. Right at the foot of a Cairn which was lovely and a short drive to Mullaghmeen Forest Park. Curfew is 11pm and it is great to see that it is enforced - in a friendly manner, especially as many campers have children with them - defo what camping is all about - plenty of space for ball games/badminton, general running around, dogs are welcome - just a general feeling of being able to enjoy the outdoors. Quite a bit of the site is on a slope, so be prepared for that - but in fairness it just added to our fun and memory making - nothing like sliding down the bed in your sleep 😂 We loved our time there and with defo be back - oh and great value for money.
Great camping site with a lot to see and do in surrounding areas. The online booking process was quick and easy. Upon check in Sarah explained rules and thing to see in the area. The toilet and shower facilities were clean and was cleaned twice a day. There is a Campers kitchen near reception and also a games room. Smalll shop on site. I really enjoyed the stay and liked that all campers respected the no noise after 11 rule. Only reason for not scoring higher was that I had to pitch in the hill which meant everything was at a slant for 3 days. Hopefully next time I will be lucky enough to secure a spot on the flat grass areas. They allow small camp fires as long as it is off the grass in a fire pit/BBQ. Thanks Sarah and Niall.
Amazing camping experience. Stayed for 2 nights. The owners couldnt have done enough for us. Cleaning of the communal shower/ toilet was atleast every 2 hours up till 11pm at night. They kept the place spotless.
We booked a family camping trip for a week away when a very rude staff member rang myself and cancelled.it would not recommend booking this camping site
The Yurts way too expensive. A 3rd of that price in France but great fun to stay in all the same
Absolutely fabulous place. Spotless clean. Staff so friendly. Great facilities. Loads of space. Definitely be going back. 💙 💙
Great location for camping. Very friendly staff, very clean, lots of space, good facilities and lots to do. The short climb to the megalithic cairns is great and very interesting. Lough Lene is only 15 minute drive for a good swimming location. Will definitely go back.
Fantastic cafe in a lovely setting. Staff all incredibly friendly
Lovely place, caravan hook up, games room, kitchen, staff friendly
Wonderful little campsite in a superb spot and great facilities. Games room, large campers kitchen, showers, café on site. Niall and Sarah are so welcoming and go out of their way to help. Would absolutely love to come back.
Great little campsite. One of the best.Stayed with ICCC for the bank holiday weekend.
Really friendly and helpful owner, good free showers and nice area. Perfect campers kitchen with gas and tee kettle. Only thing was the field which was sloped, else it would be 5 stars.
Great spot there for 2 nights very helpful staff very clean keep up the good work will be back again
Plenty of hard standings but some slipped. Clean toilets but not many toilets for the people they will have. Well stocked cafe and a craft shop. There is also a very old house with period furnishings. Road up quite narrow but manageable for a car and caravan.
lovely place we stopped on the way to firther destination, but will definitely be going back at another time to expkore the area really nice and secure for kids.
Great country side camp site, with the use of two indoor cooking hobs and picnic tables on site.
Great campsite, basic but had everything we needed. Staff were helpful and friendly. Facilities were very clean and not too far from site. Cant wait to go back next year
One of the nicest campsites we have visited , Niall and his staff make you feel really welcome we will definitely be back . Well done Niall great spot.
Great campsite, very friendly and helpful staff, lovely and quiet, if you are after a quiet few days this is the spot.
Very good campsite, there is no electric connection for tent pitch so you can enjoy proper camping, surrounding area is amazing.
Went camping here last weekend and kids loved it, as they had a playground and a games room. If you like walking there is also the biggest mountain in meath cairn t.
Beautiful little campsite .The staff are super friendly and helpful . There are not many showers but the ladies one is super powerful . There is a kitchen with gas Jobs and 2 tables to sit at and a games room with loads of games and books . There are beautiful.local walks
Secluded and small but perfect! Brilliant location for a tonne of events and sites in the area, if they are not already hosting something special! Super friendly, informative and helpful.
Had the wonderful experience of staying in the yurt there, a truly magical evening!!
Wonderful magical place. The cairns are great to visit. Oldcastle has lots of great pubs, with music. Really enjoyed our stay & will be back.
