Lough Boora Discovery Park - Park and Garden in Ros Comain, Ireland
Great place for a walk. Multiple paths to choose varying in length. Easy flat walks. And if nice art work set about form recycled tracks and items from board na mona. My son loves the old turf trains and its nice they are looked after and kids can see them and sit inside. The cafe is good nice cakes and sandwiches. Great place get some fresh air and exercise.
Brilliant place for a nature walk. My son loved playing on all the trains and was fascinated by the big whale.
Wonderful walk with lots of biodiversity, plenty of bird life and a chance to see the only Partridges in Ireland In natural habitat .
Lovely few hours here. Great walks so relaxing. The organic kitchen has a lovely choice of food. Really fresh sandwiches and lovely cakes. Also the nicest staff I have met in a long time.
Have to say this is one of the Midlands hidden gems. The regeneration of the board na Mona bogs in this area is fully evident at Lough Boora discovery park. Lovers of biodiversity, conservation, ecology and of course birds will be in there element here. Home of the Gray Partridge project this is worth the trip. A bird watchers paradise with lapwing, golden plover, partridge, buzzard, hen harrier and even the white tailed sea eagle all spotted in the last year.If all this is your "cup of tea" give Lough Boora discovery park a visit you wont be disappointed.
Just outside Kilcornac well worth the visit, a haven for wetlands bio-diversity, accessible fishing lakes, cafe, bike hire, plenty of trains and bog sculptors to keep the kids busy.
First time visiting here and went with my family (3 year old daughterand we loved it. Lovely cafe on site for lunch, ice cream etc and lots of great scenery, structures and walks including a lovely fairy trail for the kids.Would highly recommend for families of all ages and well definitely be back again
Stunning day out! Route markings could be a bit better but overall great. Our daughter loved the Fairy Avenue, so well looked after.
Amazing place to spend the day. Amazing nature, hiking and biking trails. Sculpture park, fairy and Neolithic trail. Fishing is possible. Great place for a family picnic. Bicycle rental and a café are available.
Beautiful peaceful area for short or long walks. Lots of butterflies, bees and a huge array of birds. Nice little cafe. Toilets available. Walk or hire a bike.
Amazing place for all ages, hours of fun, definitely stop and have a look around for few hours, no cost involved but you can hire mountains bike for €5 each or bring youre own 👍
Nice park and interesting sculptures. One minor note: we arrived at the café at about 5.30pm and it, and the toilets, were closed. The gated car park closes at 6pm "sharp"and is €5 but there is a free car park for a few cars just down the road.
Interesting place close to ferbane. Plenty of open space to explore and several walking routes. Suitable for all ages and good location for a picnic
Absolutely beautiful place of natural beauty. I used to live not far and bring my dogs here every day. Highly recommend but not on your own if you don’t know the area you would easily get lost. Many years ago you would, not sure if they have made it a little more touristy now with paths and signs etc. will come back with pics soon xxx
Wow. It is an art gallery, open air, huge blue skies, swans, surprises, such fresh air. Amazing. Kids loved it too.
This is an absolutely beautiful place to visit. So peaceful and filled with really interesting sculptures. The forest walk was a particular highlight.Unfortunately, despite the website saying that there are toilets and a café, both were closed. There were no bins along the trails. There is a distinct lack of signage too. Many of the crossroads had no signs at all!We thought we were on one of the looped trails only to discover ourselves completely outside the park with a very long walk to get back!
Fantastic place , love the fairytale forest, absolutely love Lough Boora Discovery Park , there is lots of differentwalking trails form 1k to 12k .Well recommend place to go for a day with family, walks with dogs , there is a coffee shop , toilets.

Flora and fauna is fantastic. Bird watching hut is close by the park.Recommend to all ages.
Lovely location, with fantastic walks and cycling tracks. Beautiful scenery and a great little coffee shop. Definitely be back again.
What a great afternoon exploring and discovering. Enjoying well defined walkways. Some impressive sculptures. Some sadly not maintained but still impressive. Lovely lakeside café. Bike hire with reasonable rates. Great car parking spaces. Will be coming back again for sure.
Lough Boora Discovery park is for people who can enjoy a good walk. There is a walking trail with some sort of sculptures in between. Recommended for kids and no ticket needed.
Fantastic bike trip through the bog and forestry lovely tea room, amazing sculptures and installations well worth a visit free entry bike hire available onsite. Well done all involved
Smashing day out, bike hire available, easy routes for walking and cycling, 3km, 5km, 9km or 13km. Gorgeous scenery and the sculpture park is really worth a visit
Great spot for families with plenty to do - including walking and cycling trails, sculptures, fairies, trains, ponds, Ducks and a whale. Lots to learn about nature and the history of the site and the peat industry. Excellent facilities including cafe, bike hire, car parking and toilets.
Hired a tandem bicycle for a few euro, my sister and I had a nice 45min cycle on one of the routes round the sights. The trails were pretty good craic. Really nicely designed and maintained park. Its a real find this spot.Cafe had nice snacks and hot drinks. Definitely recommend to a friend, lots to amuse kids (we climbed up the pyramidand will be back for sure.P.S. the gentleman running the cycle hire gave us his business card in case wed need assistance - should we get a puncture or otherwise break down.
Great place for kids, perfect for walking short and long walks. Bikes hire not very expensive. We definitely come back during summer.
A beautiful nature reserve, lovely little walks for the whole family to take. Only cost you 4 euro for the parking and thats it. We especially loved the fairy trail it was a winner with our kids. Looking forward to returning when the weather improves and will be bringing the bikes and a picnic.
Beautiful location. Cycling or walking with lots to see for kids also. Good coffee and food on the cafè. Recommended
Great walking and cycling trail. Its a really nice area to go running. I stopped into the cafe today for the first time and it was very nice. Lovely outdoor decking area onto a pond and the coffee and cake was nice.
Really nice place to walk picnic also you can hire bikes there too there of stuff to do there too nice place
Great place to spend the day with fishing catch and release to let the kids see if the can catch their first fish. You can also hire bikes and cycle the 5km path stopping off and look at the art sculptures. There is a place to have something to eat and a coffee. Well worth a visit
A great day out for the family by walking or cycling. Cycling hire is reasonably priced. Cafe on site. My son says "some of the sculptures were great and some were rubbish", but hey, thats art !
Great place for a family day out. It offers cycling and bike hire with a mix of route lengths. There is a good fairy walk, sime Thomas style trains and some interesting large sculptures so something for most people. The weather was excellent the day we visited which no doubt added tobthe experience, okay we wouldnt have gone if it was raining! The cafe seems nice, we took a picnic and the bike hire guys are very friendly. The bikes see hard use and some are showing signs of wear and tear so choose carefully! One observation Boora is hard to find on car Sat Nav and the address on the website doesnt seem to help! Google maps worked fine.
Discovered this place by accident. Its amazing and beautiful. Took my 6 year old there to cycle his bike (9.3 km). I recoiled slightly at the cost of lunch, but it was really nice and it was substantial so worth the money I suppose. You can bring a picnic of course but, as in was staying in a hotel nearby, that wasnt easy to arrange. Anyway, its a great place to bring the family.
Great place to go especially with kids. You can rent bikes and bring your own picnic with plenty of places to sit. Great for the kids to explore the old trains that used to be user here. Great day out. Brilliant fairy trail for the kids too.
