Los Sifones - Taco restaurant in Mexico City, Mexico
Coming from Queens, NYC, I had better food in Roosevelt Ave to be honest. We felt left out due to no waiter coming to check up on us at all. We had to ask for the check at the counter. When asking "the manager" what had happened to our waiter? He said he left because he was sick and nobody told him he would be leaving. This is a big red flag for the business and people consuming food here. Also being a good tipper that I am I was disappointed at myself for leaving 600 clean and the bill was 538.
I heard great things about this place through reviews and even from a YouTuber. The overall feel was disappointing. Many said the food was good and really only went to try the molcajete because I the US, there is 1 place that has a miraculous flavor.I bought a house consome and the arrachera molcajete. For over 300 pesos for these 2 dishes, I will never go back. The consome flavor was ok, but not worth the price. It had chunks of meat that were a bit tough. Not sure if it was heart, gizzard or what, but not a good quality meat. The tortillas that come with the food are unique in that they are rectangular, but other than the novelty, it felt dry in my mouth and not a great flavor compared to the tortillas Ive had all over mexico for over 6 months. The molcajete was pretty sour, and just blurs out the rich flavor I was hoping for I have had a fair amount of mocajetes in the US and a few in Mexico, and this was 1 of my least favorites. After all that I asked for the check and no one brought it. A second waiter was asked and 10 minutes after being asked, acknowledges and says he will bring it. Still another 25 minutes later we asked a 3rd person and finally got the check, but their machine rejected my card 2x. It was their machine. Eventually they looked for a working device. In total it took over an hour to square up the bill after a very dissatisfying meal. After I left, I was very thirsty, thus, they probably heavily salt their food as well.Disappointed overall. Had a lot better food for a lot less in lots of areas of Mexico.
Best molchachete ever. And the outdoor seating is a nice addition.
Terrible place. Our table was dirty. We ask ti clean it and ut took firever to have someone in our table. We were four but the brought one one menu! We asked for morr menúes and they brough one one more. Surprise, it had oil an food on it. We wete practically abandoned there. Silver was not complete abd after many minutes if wauting we decuded to leave.Coyoacán is full of great places to eat. This is not one of them. Avoid it. Any place around it will be much better.
Great tacos (with square tortillas!?!?!?!and great soup! Ill be going again for sure!
Wonderful food!!!
Cheap delicious food with service? Yes, please
Good tacos of all kinds. My favorite is la gringas. Also excellent flan de queso for dessert!
Being going there since I was younger. It is still good.
Good service. Ample servings. Valet Parking. Tasty.
Good food. Very delicious and clean.
Good food, good service, small place
Streetfood are way better and cheaper. Dont know why everybody put 5 stars.
There are salads too. I had the mushroom soup. I really liked it
Always an amazing place to eat! Their product has an amazing quality and their service is incredible!
Delicious food, high quality ingredients, great service, more than enough portions and friendly prices! What else is there to ask! 👌👌👌👌👌
Super good, and since its away from the city centre its well priced. Placed a safe location too.The Molcajete, tortilla soup, taco al pastor and guac and chicken tacos were all amazing.Would love to go back if I ever return to cdmx.
De Arrachera Molcajete is the best food Ive had in Mexico period!
One of the best places for tacos 🌮 the food is always great. If you go Id recommend you the tortilla soup + arrachecates. Just be mindful that the place is always full and the food might not always arrive on time. Nevertheless it is a place I love to recommend and return to
Worth a trip. Great food and service. Have been eating there for years
Real local favorite ! A kind of place where a Mexican family would go to every week for years in a row. Really good dishes and great quality of food, served in a nice authentic way. The service was nice too. Sizes of desserts I found too large
Almost excellent since long waiting time but it is worth it...Nice and friendly service, clean, cool environment... Highlight: hot molcajete de arrachera!!
Loved the food, the quick service, the tacos on a square tortilla and the molcajetes with meat nopales and cheese inside. My best recommendation the tacos with chorizo nopal and melted cheese.
This place was alright. Sometimes you just cant believe Mark Wiens face.
Good food fast service.but crowded
Good food, good service yet its a bit expensive
Delicious food, very good service and nice atmosphere. Fun twist with square tortillas!! Parking will probably be on the street and you have to pay for valet parking. Consider Uber instead.
Excelent place, really fast served and whatever you get it is very tasty. Love it.
Excellent as always! The best tacos in Mexico!! 🌮
I ordered a meal to go, the service was fast and kind, they sell delicious Mexican "antojitos" 😁
Great local food, friendly staff and a real good ambiente
Amazing tacos, especially arrachecate. So much avocado! And Al Pastor is also excellent.
Avocado at its finest. You do not want to pass on this restaurant. The food is so good, you will force yourself to eat more.
Very traditional and square shaped tacos
Great meal for cheap cheap cheap prices. Fed a 4-person table with drinks for less than $50 US... And we were bursting at the seams full.
Fantastic place for tacos in CDMX. I loved their thick, square corn tortillas, which come with whatever filling your heart desires. The tacos al pastor meat, turning on its skewer with a pineapple dripping juice down over it, looked great, but I had a taste for steak and guac tacos. They were fantastic, stuffed full of tasty goodness. I would definitely come here again, to try the tacos al pastor and some of the other items.
Clean great place the beans were delicious and the tacos were also. Service was good.
They offered me more vegetarian options than those available in the menu!
Excellent traditional taco restaurant , top notch quality , must try!
Great place! Delicious food served fresh and in no time, great waiters and whole customer service. Just loved it! ¡Muchas gracias por su excelente atención y deliciosa comida!
anyone1 else see the food review on youtube by mark wiens? this place is on my bucketlist
love this place. the tacos al pastor are probably the best in the city (well in my humble opinion anyway). the staff are friendly and it is a large place so you can usually get a table. when it is busy you may have to wait a while but never for too long. well, well worth a visit......
Great tacos, the specialty must be the ones served with avocado, but the other dishes arent far behind. Its not really expensive, each taco is generously served. The service is very fast, its good for a family meal, not that romantic unless you are seated near the entrance next to the fences. Not only is the food great and inexpensive but also the staff is very friendly. Would recommend for anyone visiting Mexico and trying out the cuisine, you wont be disappointed.
Great place for tacos, their special avocado tacos are a great option.
Very busy place. The food was good, but a little difficult to handle
Great family ambient restaurant to enjoy mexican food, have vast mushroom soup before your main dish: "Arrachecate", arrachera (meatmixed with avocado served in their singular square tortillas. This meat and avocado tacos are the signature dish of the place. If you wanna share some meat ask for the family grill. They god valet service and kids area.$300.00 Visa, MasterCard, Cash.
This food is authentic,Delicious and reasonable prices
Delicious Mexican food, its affordable, and with your ticket they always have a tombola that will give you a discount on your next visit. Here the tortillas are squared, not round, thats part of their originality.
Good food, and the price seems to be a little expensive but when you see de quality yo understand the reason
Really, really great tacos and other dishes. Has been there for many years
