Los Cangilones de Gualaca - Tourist attraction in Santiago, Panama
No entry fee, totally empty early in the morning.
Fun place to swim and jump in the water. Good place to cool off on a hot day. Beautiful unique area
Beautiful place. We were lucky to be almost on our own. Over the weekend it can get crowded though.
Clean, lovely place to swim!
Such a fun and interesting place to take my kids and hang out with friends. We love it here!
Interesting natural wonder that is easy to visit on the way to or from Boquete, provided that you have your own means of transportation. We went on a weekday and were the only ones there. We also didnt have to pay an entrance fee. (Which may be different on the weekend and holidays? Our kids loved wading into the water and adults can go for a swim in between the rock walls. Highly recommended!
Easy to get there. Could use more sitting areas.
The water was wonderful. They are improving access everyone there was friendly and courteous. I will definitely come back.
A spiritual experience. A Panamanian baptism. A privilege and honor to swim and be accepted in this beautiful ancient gathering place. If the rocks could talk and they did. I found a fossil. If anyone can identify it please do so.
Visited this place today and loved it. Being a Saturday in the summer it was packed with locals today but that’s fine. Added to the experience. It’s a very cool spot and so much fun jumping off the cliffs. The water was just the perfect temperature and it was very easy to spent a couple of hours here. Definitely worth going to and we would definitely go back. It was $4 for us (2 adults and two kids)
Totally worth going. A must stop if you are in the area. The entrance is only USD 2 per car. The river is pristine and is well kept. Suggest to go early or in weekdays to have it all for yourself.
First time I came here it was June and the water was a bit faster and grey, but I got in and loved it. Today, 5 months later, is crystal blue and amazing. Either way you will have a good day!
My son had great time swimming in the water. The water was clean and the area was beautiful
Amazing place to have a special kind of outdoor natural swimming, next to the wild jungle with great water. Very recommended.
Had a lovely time here!! Super fun, easy to get to. Decent parking around it
Such a fun, off the beaten path, activity. There were several local families there. Kids jumping and playing. The water is a bit swift going into the crack so be careful with little ones or those that dont swim well. Great activity! Water is a lovely temperature as well.
Excellent place to go w/family peacefully and amazing views.
Nice place to cool down. There were even 2 lifeguards ensuring the peoples safety
Really nice place to visit, there is an area that looks like a mini canyon, crystalline water, and is well preserved (trashcans in the entry area, staircase access, parking area). Local law enforcement monitors the area every so often, and there is an entrance fee per vehicle which is used towards the preservation of the area.
Beautiful. Go on a weekday to avoid crowds. Nice to see they added trash cans, which has reduced the litter since we last came.
A fun place to take the family to swim
We drove down from Boquete in early January 2021. The gate was locked but no signs and multiple cars parked outside the gate. We walked down (15 minsand there were only 7 people there. It’s nice. Lovely water. Small. The slot canyon section is only about 50 meters long. Way hotter here vs boquete.Note: giant spiders on the walls as you swim through.
Nice swimming spot, can get crowded on a Sunday. Perfect activity to do as a family. We paid $2 entrance per car. You can take your own food and drinks, but they also sell food, cool drinks and cold fresh coconuts ($1Its pet friendly and there were 2 lofe guards on duty.
Great spot along the river- shady spots but rocky - dive or jump into the deep parts of you dare- well worth the $2 fee per car
Beautiful little spot. A bit too crowded for us, but otherwise lovely. If you dont like spiders, stay away from the water lol
Great place to cool off and jump in! Public and free! Lots of parking available.
What a great afternoon - one of our (with 3 kids around 13 years oldhighlights in Panama. Jumps into the water from different heights...
Attractive spot and good for swimming. Difficult to get there by public transport.
Such a great place to cool off and relax
Excellent place to visit and to spend the day. 100% recommended
Neat little hole to swim and picnic. We didnt stop for long. There were a lot of locals setting up for a day at the river.
Nice and excellent trip for friends, family, couples. Safe and easy to get in.
Great spot for a combination of unique geographical characteristics, and a leisurely dip in refreshing fresh water...several pools have been created by past visitors which divides the river into separate pools, some deep enough to dive in, some just for paddling around on a tube, and at the mid point of the mini canyon you can just float through between the walls. At the end is a large pool/lagoon type area for swimming and both banks have ample space to sit/lie or set up a picnic. And best of all...ITS FREE!
Its an amazing place to go in solo or with family and friends. You can get there by bus, taking it on the Terminal de Buses de David and then ask the driver to let you near Los Cangilones. Then you can pickup a taxi or do a walk for sort of 15 minutes to arrive. Its crowded on weekends so Ill recommend you to go during the week if you dont like crowded places.
A wonderful swimming area! We floated down through the little gorge, and I swam and floated and relaxed in the pool while my husband and brother in law jumped and dove over and over again. It was well worth the drive out from Boquete.
Awesome place, blue/green/something-else water. And it was for free.
Nice and beautiful little canyon with an absolut unreal turquois water color... Good to relax, Picknick and swimmingNot come too late in wintertime because in case it will start to rain it is forbidden to be there because of flood danger
Absolutely beautiful, hike around then swim in the river. Jump in from the small canyon wall but obviously make sure youre not jumping onto rocks or something.
Amazing place to get relaxed and swim a bit. I would recommend to visit in summer (from December to Marchso it isnt so full of water and could be and bit dangerous to visit for the rainy days
Beautiful spot for a day trip out of boquete or David for some canyon- swimming and fun. A real off-the-beaten-track vibe, make sure to follow the signs and the paved road until you get to the part of the river with the canyons, and beware if the water-level starts rising rapidly, the area can flood if there’s been rainfall in the mountains
Make sure you dont go when it rains or after rain. The water get very high mudy and dangerous.
So pretty!! Touristy and busy on weekends but not in a bad way! Its such a beautiful place and it attracts kids of all ages for family picnics and cool dips in the crystal clear water. Beautiful to think how many hundreds of years families have been gathering here. I highly recommend it! Remember to take your trash with you on your way out :)
A great place to take the kids and a picnic for the day or even a half day. You can walk up the river and explore all kinds of interesting parts... We had a great time here.
I was scared to jump at first but quickly got past it.We drove up the river a bit and found another area that had less people. You could still jump in off rocks in deep waters.
Very cool au natural canyon and swim hole!
An interesting rock formation with a creek running through it near Boquete Panama. Two dollar per car entry fee on weekends.
Avery peaceful place with a natural gorge that people can dive in.
Weird crack created this natural pool. Cristaline water. Parking lot, easy to access. 2$ per car. Go on dry season only.
Great white water rafting. Definitely not Boring or slowWater really moved. Be prepared to get wet and possibly fall in a few times like meGuides are great though and they definitely save you.
Its a very nice place. Easy to reach by car, no additional costs, small parking area. The experience is wonderful. Take care when swimming as there are rocks hidden under the water.
